Google
Quirky concept of dining on a boat, not too sure if it's a tourist trap though? Can't fault the staff at all they were lovely and the chicken burger I had was pretty good.

Google
Gorgeous experience dining at the MV Cill Airne! Party of three went for dinner at the MV Cill, and the experience was great! Dining in a boat was an amazing experience, and the staff are lovely too! We ordered the fish and chips, the seafood chowder and the aubergine and courgette tagine. All of the food was flavoursome, rich, fresh and filling! It was a great experience, would recommend!

This place is stunning on a sunny day—a lively boat restaurant packed with people. The drinks are solid, the food is decent, but unfortunately, the restaurant staff were quite rude.

Google
The place with the atmosphere! Can be crowded, but we got a table with no prob. The food was delicious, portions ard well sized. The place is definitely worth visiting

Google
Attended a work party aboard the MV Cill Airne and had a fantastic time. The food was delicious, they have a full bar, and the atmosphere was perfect. I highly recommend. I had the brie, chicken wings, steak, and ice cream, all delicious.

Google
Clean, quiet restaurant with an incredibly novel theme. Food was absolutely incredible. Buffalo wings will stay on my mind for quite some time. Prices were very reasonable for city centre & being on a BOAT! Our waitress was helpful & very pleasant to talk with. Parking is very expensive in a close-by multistory but, that's the city centre. Only downside is the toilets, which really aren't at the same standard as the rest. Will be returning with friends and family!

Google
Had the chicken wings, nice and crispy and good spice. Was a Friday evening but we were the only people in the restaurant so atmosphere wasn’t great. Good place to eat for a novelty and something different. Staff very friendly and service was great.

Google
A unique location on the Leffey River. The boat history is worth looking up. The restaurant area is wonderful an reflexs a past for unique boats. There is a separate bar area where you are able to enjoy the river view. The menu can be located online and just ok in my opinion. But the experience was worth the time. I didn’t make a reservation but would recommend it.

Yelp
Horrible service, the staff were extremely racist towards me and my son (african american and chinesee) They assumed my son would want watermelon, fried chicken and koolade and they assumed i would want egg rolls and cat

Yelp
One of the best bites Ive ever had was my wife's roasted lamb rump meal. The sauce was magical. I asked for the recipe and they politely told me no. My fish and chips were fine but the lamb rump . . . Wow!

Yelp
What an amazing atmosphere and tasty food! We came here for a work outing and had the set menu. I honestly had a hard time deciding because everything looked so good. The winners were the beet and goat cheese starter, the fish entree (with such crispy delicious skin), and the chocolate mousse. Everything cam with such beautiful presentation, and the waiters gave us enough time to chat between courses, not hurrying us at all, and always making sure our wine glasses were full. Overall terrific service and food!!

Yelp
We had drinks there on Sunday. Super cute place. Next time I want to try the food. I have heard that it is good.

Yelp
It's a boat. Wait - it's a restaurant. No hang on, it's a freakin bar! Ok so I have a bit of a thing for boats anyway. They're cool aren't they? All wooden and curved and floating. I also have a thing for bars. All stocked up with whatever ails ya. So now, the conglomeration of both entities. Oh yes, the boat-bar. Or bar-boat?! Either way, it's always gonna be a winner. Ok so the Liffey isn't quite the high seas or the River Nile, but it's all we got, so why not make the most of it. I was on my way back from a gig in the O2 when a few mates and I decided to hop on board (Teehee sorry, had to say it...!) The place was jam-packed. Great atmosphere though, lots of happy heads around the place - perhaps something to do with the whole 'being on a boat' scenario. The bar staff were nice and friendly as well (always a bonus), and drinks prices are average. There are two options here for eating - fine dining downstairs, and a more affordable bistro upstairs. I can't vouch for either I'm afraid, but would definitely like to give the nosh in this place a go. One thing I will say though - seriously lacking in music of some kind. There did actually seem to be music in the background, but either it was really low, or just not the right kind, but it wasn't working. Some live ceoil would defo go down well here on the weekends I reckon, or just something to take the atmosphere up a notch. Either way, nice different way of spending an evening fo shizzle.

Yelp
I can't believe I forgot to review this place. After the amazing, hilarious, fantastic time I had here.... And about now you're wondering why I'm only giving 3 stars? I walked in here with two friends without a reservation, since we just happened to be in the area, and the lady that greeted us kinda snootily said we should have had one. Nevertheless we were seated and we proceeded to order some wine. We also got their appetizer plate and the lamb, and settled in for a good night. Cill Airne is a ship, and it is pretty cool how they turned the first level into a restaurant and the second level into a pub. I never got to the pub, by the way. The decor was tasteful, and it was comfortable if not a little crowded. So the food came, and from here on it just turned completely hilarious. The bread was good, except for this one darkish piece... looked like chocolate to me, and pleasantly reminded of Cheesecake Factory's awesome breads I bit into it... Yikes. This strange dark "bread" thing tasted like it had been made with coffee and... SOY SAUCE. I have no idea what it was, but it was so salty and I just could not finish my piece. Then there was the rest of the food. Appetizer plate was great -- different kinds of fish and seafood, and they had a great salad. But tell me why there were two round things that looked like cookies... but, when eaten, actually taste like burnt something. Oh man we were cracking up by this time. Our main course was delish, and there were no strange things on it... and the desert we got, a pear tartin, was pretty good as well. So all things considered we had a good time. Just watch out for the unfamiliar and pretty funny-tasting stuff you can get there sometimes.

Yelp
I always wanted t try this pub / restaurant but was always afraid it might be a bit outside my budget. So I was very pleasently surprised that their prices are actually as high as the average in Dublin. They have a nice choice of dinks and food for all needs (hungry / starving...). I had their Spicy Chicken Fillet Burger and it was very good. And obviously being on a ship, feeling the movement of the water and being that bit away from normal life adds immensly to the experience. I had lovely holidays on ships so this brought back the memories.

Yelp
This place is beautiful and the location is cracking if you are in for a good weather but seriously I have to update my review. The problems mentioned in the review done before remain but now things seemed a bit worse. The main issue is the lack of efficiency for whoever want to eat. I was with a group of about 10 people and we wanted to sit in the outside area of downstairs. Then when we wanted to get a few platters we were told they don't serve food outside (if for eco reasons, maybe they don't want any food thrown in the river, who knows, I can accept). We got another table inside still downstairs as the place was pretty crowded everywhere. Then, we were told again they don't serve food not only outside but neither downstairs (!!!). The result was that everyone tried to laugh it off as the big black guy that meets you at the entrance is so friendly that we couldn't just get very angry and we moved upstairs (to a food saga at this point). As there wasn't so much room upstairs (maybe everyone wanted to eat and was told the same), some people were standing while eating. Platters are good but you need to wait a bit cus they always come burning hot. This place has potential but the responsible ones should make a few improvements asap.

Yelp
Comeragh Mountain Lamb (5 NOMs) Ahoy the fun begins at the boat pub that serves up some fun drinks and fancy food right on the River Liffet in the middle of Dublin. How often can you enjoy a nice dinner on a boat? Not something we do very often so we decided to go all out. There was lots of drink and lots of eating. When they brought out this dish we were totally amazed at how beautiful it looks. The meat was cooked to perfection, glistening on the outside and juicy on the inside. Plus a little bit of fat made it even better. It was just falling off the bone. Served with a side of amazing potatoes, eggplant and sauce. Definitely liked how potatoes were cut into rectangles and cut into small slices stacked on top of each other. This is a super cheap dish for the quality for just €9 ($10). You are more likely to get more for your buck here. Sadly the boat doesn't move and always stays in one location, but that doesn't decrease the fun experience of being on the water. Milk Chocolate Ovaltine Mousse (4 NOMs) There is a Mousse on my boat! It's the tasty kind, Milk Chocolate Ovaltine Mousse on MV Cill Airne an Irish pub on a boat in Dublin. We had such a good time enjoying food and drinks at this boat restaurant that we just had to get some nom nom desserts. Enjoying a mixture of geometric shapes here with circles and triangles. It's not just geometry we enjoyed, the smooth and light mousse just made us want to enjoy it slowly and savor every spoonful.

Yelp
Wow a floating pub that doesn't go anywhere - if you ain't got sea legs and like to pretend you're king of the world within sight of dry land, then this is the place for you. Situated down the quays from the O2 (formerly the Point) I stumbled upon this place quite by accident. I was almost reluctant to enter as it seemed to be for private parties only. It's a bit pricey but the novelty is worth it at least once. Typically a Friday night will see the place fill up with local bank workers but they seem to be up for a good time. This place would be ideal for sunny summer Sunday afternoon drinking - it's a bit nippy in winter, though. Weirdly it featured (clearly named) in a recent TV ad depicting the horrors of emigration.

Yelp
I joined the Dublin Boat party. It was incredible! I could drink Bulmers new flavor as free! The staffs is very friendly. Foods is nice. And good sightseeing.

Yelp
We all love a bit of novelty in our nights out and what could be more novel than having your pints out on deck? Ahoy mateys, all aboard the MV Cill Airne! It was a lovely mild evening when I met friends for drinks on board the upper deck of the Cill Airne, docked at North Wall Quay. We enjoyed the sun set over Dublin as we supped and chatted, the fading light making even the Liffey look beautiful. However, land-lovers beware: at first the air was fresh and pleasant but fresh soon turned to chilly when the sun went down and the jackets came out. While carousing on deck, we sampled some of the delights of life at sea when a gull dropped a live crab on deck. Needless to say, were all committed seafarers by the end of the night! It was a very quiet Tuesday evening when I boarded and although we reserved a table, there would have been no problem finding space for the twelve of us otherwise. I didn't order food but the bar menu is suitably fishy with cod, fishcakes and a selection of seafood on offer. I don't know why I am still surprised by the price of drink in Dublin but €7 for a glass of wine made me want to walk the plank.

Yelp
I'm in town for a conference & was looking to get a sit down dinner. Apparently my black track shoes are outside of their dress code. So I was rejected.

Yelp
It's not every day you get invited aboard a boat for pints so when I arranged to meet someone on the Cill Airne I was quite excited. I've seen the boat several times on the way home and I always wonder if the pub was any good. There are basically three parts to the anchored boat: the Quay 16 Restaurant on the main deck, the Blue River Bistro Bar on the upper deck and the White Bar also on the main deck. I went to the pub on the upper deck around 9 pm. It was packed with people who work in the nearby IFSC. There were two barmen wearing captain uniforms and two floor staff dressed in maroon. They were struggling to stay a float with all the orders that were coming in. After ordering our pints, we took them outside where they were tables setup. We had to drink our pints in the back because the front was too busy and some tables weren't cleared. Although I enjoyed the novel experience of drinking on a boat, I would have been happier if it was less chaotic and crowded. My friend tells me that afternoons at the Cill Airne are better because the sun is shinning and the atmosphere is calm.

Yelp
Absorb and enjoy the lights of Dublin and her dazzling dancing reflections. Fun novelty, we rambled aboard on a crisp winter's eve very cosey interior. Let your imagination run wild. It felt like we were on a mini cruise of our very own. #fun, another good one for a date on a warm or cold day

Yelp
Great and unusual spot for after work drinks especially when it's sunny with amazing views of the Liffey. There's outdoor seating for you to soak up the sun and pretend you're cruising on the high seas! Service in the upstairs bar is efficient and drinks are reasonably priced around €5 a pint. A bottle of Prosecco was €25 and very quaffable. Sharing platters were delish too and did their job of 'soakage'! It does quieten down from 8-ish pm onwards so you need to plan another venue if you're out OUT for the night. :)

Yelp
I love boats. The only thing better than boats is food on a boat. As I had seen this place but never investigated I assumed it was a bit dear but was pleasantly surprised when I first visited. The prices are very reasonable and the food is really good. I had an amazing fish and chips here for about a tenner. The staff were very nice and the service was lovely. I have been back a few times now because as I said, it's pretty cool having a few drinks and eating dinner on a boat, even if it's not sailing anywhere sure.

Yelp
What do you mean...Supertramp...who are they? Never heard of them! Are they from the black & white days when God was a boy and Bruce Forsyth was wooing Anthea 'Give us a twirl' Redfern? Yeah, yeah! After having been subjected to such horrendous ageist abuse we decided that a quick bit of nosh before the concert may well be in order. When going to the O2 we always park in Ringsend and walk over the toll bridge. This makes for a much quicker getaway after the gig. Downside is the fact that there is nowhere to eat down that neck of the woods. We had time so we wandered up the fragrant banks of the Liffey to see if we could find somewhere. We had been walking for quite some time and still no sign of an eatery. By this stage, frankly we were approaching 'farmers arse through a hedge' time, so we needed somewhere quick. And there it was, the MV Cill Airne. C'mon I said, 'all aboard' and other such nonsensical nautical sayings. She was having none of it! Food, on a boat in the Liffey are you joking. Maybe she was right - Deadliest Catch and all that! Anyhow, further from the 'The Cornelia Marie' it could not have been. Very friendly guy greeted us on the gangplank and showed us to the restaurant. Then, the question that chills to the bone...have you booked sir? Er..eh..um..actually no! Is that a problem? Not at all as we were whisked off to a table. We both ordered the same starter (Plaice Goujons) and main course (Braised Steak & Guinness Pie) off the 'Theatre Special' which costs a very reasonable €20 for 2 courses and €25 for 3. The plaice had to have been caught that morning. It was melt in the mouth gorgeous. And as for the pie, it was home comfort food of the highest order. Terrific. So, to summarise, the Service was great. Surroundings were really different and nice. Staff were incredibly friendly and the food was bang on. So, all in all a fantastic spot to visit for an inexpensive fabulous meal when heading for the O2 or indeed the Grand Canal Theatre. Highly recommended.

Yelp
It's a boat in the Liffey that can't make up it's mind if it wants to be a bar or restaurant so it does both. The bar is just an average bar and the restaurant serves fairly lackluster food...burgers, chicken wings....ahhhhh :( I really thought this place would have a fine dining feel to it but I was surprised to find quite the opposite. The only thing this place has going for it is that it's a boat in the Liffey, so that's kind of cool and also the traditional Irish feel is refreshing. Food took literally 40 minutes to arrive (why me?) and it was tasteless. Had to use the table sauce to spruce up my dinner... I'm awarding MV Cill Airne 3 stars as it's a boat in the Liffey.

Yelp
My boyfriend took me here for my birthday and we had an excellent meal. Seafood chowder to begin and then sea bass with veggies. The waiters were really smiley and friendly, even though they were busy and our food was delish! Good value too, two starters and two main courses with 7ups for about e45.00... we were too full for dessert! The restaurant was fully booked, so we ate in the Bistro, I'll definitely be back to try the pre-theatre menu.

Yelp
As the sign says, it's definitely the last stop for a pint before the O2... Discovered this place recently, and I'm definitely a fan. It has a decent menu at (relatively) affordable prices, has a good atmosphere, and there's definitely a good view of the river (on the one side) or the Docklands construction (on the other). I had the seafood chowder, which had lovely chunks of salmon and shellfish in a tasty cream base, and my dining companion had the Japanese noodles which offered a nice blend of textures and a hint of heat from the spices. My chowder was served with two hefty slices of hearty brown bread, and was one of the best fully Irish meals I've had here in Dublin. The beer-battered onion rings were a little soggier than I like, but had good flavor and I'll give them another chance at a later date. Bottom Line: I'll be back to give those onion rings another shot...

Yelp
My girlfriend and I had just arrived in Dublin for a conference. While I had planned dinners for the rest of the stay, we needed to find a local restaurant for our first night. Right across the river from our hotel was the MV Cill Airne - so we booked a reservation, walked across the Calatrava "Beckett Bridge" and had a wonderful meal in the restaurant. Warm and welcoming, with some great seafood dishes. We had a wonderful time - a great way to start our visit

Yelp
We ate in the pub part of the boat upstairs. They had pretty good food! I had a vegetable wrap that had a tasty chili dressing, & my husband had a fat burger. Both came with hand cut chips- delicious! It was hard to tell if they were open from the street. They could use some better signage.

Yelp
So....it's a cracking saturday in Dublin and when I should really be out, getting as much sun as possible, I find myself in a function room of a north-side pub at a family christening ! Don't get me wrong, I love meeting up with the family for a few pints and a catch-up, but its a Scorcher out there in Dublin's Fair City and I wanna be soaking it up ! Anyway....I've stayed for 2 hours, so a quick phone call to my mates, kiss and hug the family, say goodbye and I find myself on a bus heading to Dublin's Docklands. BANG...10 minutes later I'm strolling along the Liffey taking in that beautiful sunshine. Just a few minutes walk past the 'Convention Centre' and I arrive at the MV Cill Airne, a big boat with a Bar and restaurant....what more could you ask for ! I head up the steps and through the 'Blue River Bistro Bar' and out to the upper deck to be greeted by my two friends and a glass of Prosecco (only €25 a bottle)....very posh indeed, considering I've been drinking Guinness for most of the afternoon. So a couple of glasses of bubbly later and I start to realise that I've been drinking on a empty stomach....not good when your a 10ft drop into the River Liffey ! So...Food was my next mission. I went for the 'Thai Style Fish Cakes'. The food was really nice and reasonably priced, but I made the silly mistake of not cooling my food before stuffing into my gob...OUUCCHHH ! Nice big burnt pallet.... With the Fish cakes polished off, we stayed on the Cill Airne until the sun went down. Next time the sun shines, I'll be back on the Liffey....sipping Prosecco ;)

Yelp
Not a bad place to sit and have a drink on a hot summers day, apart from their poor choice of beers, though at least they had Budvar, I also had a nice Caesar salad there which was reasonably priced, though having said all that I probably would have been just as happy sitting on the side of the quay with a few beers from the offie and a sambo cos thats how I roll.

Yelp
Was at the "boat bar" on a sunny Tuesday evening. Plenty of space available inside, but sat out in the sun. The atmosphere was lovely, bar staff and waiters friendly. Just had some chips between us, so no comment on food, other than the chips were of the huge chunky kind, and were nice. The ubiquitous pub TV with snooker/football/darts was missing, which was great. Music was really good. Oh, and pints are €5

Yelp
I have been to the boat bar a few times now, however waited to review until I was able to experience in a number of different ways. The great thing about the MV Cill Airne (or Boat Bar) is that 1) It is a stationary bar which rises and falls with the tides of the Liffey and is parked right near the Samuel Beckett bridge where myself and quite a large office crowd works every day. 2) It is also a place to get a wide range of dining options. They have the Blue Bistro upstairs (connected to the pub) or finer dining at Quay 16 downstairs. I have been to the Bistro twice but never to the Quay 16 restaurant in the lower level of the boat. Due to the large number of people working in this area, this is a great place to have a beer after work and they do attract a nice crowd in the evenings for this very reason. It may be a bit of a novelty, however drinking your beer on the outer balcony of the boat and watching the Liffey flow by is a nice experience. I have always enjoyed having a few beers here. As far as the food at the Bistro, I have found it on the pricer side for lunch. The last time I was there I ordered the fish and chips and found it to be overpriced at 14 Euro and was extremely over fried as well. It was delicious, but definitely more expensive than most places I have seen. You can get burgers for 12.50, which is still a little outside my standard lunch time range. Due to the expensiveness of the dining, it is hard to say I would frequent this place often for food. I would more recommend this place for the drinks instead. I have read that they do have a pre-theatre menu which is also quite good and reasonable in the more upscale Quay 16 restaurant, but it is probably worth spending a little more for a proper night out. Overall, I would say that the Boat Bar for the bar itself would be 4 stars but the Bistro would be set at 3.5 for the pricey lunch and my dining experiences thus far.

Yelp
This is a really cool bar on the water. Can sit at the top also!! With great weather why wouldn't anyone come here
google avatar

Yelp
My friends and I went here before the Mumford and Sons gig in the Arena 3, Dec 2016. We ate in the Quay 16 restaurant. We ordered from the pre theatre menu. A few of the group ordered the duck bon bons, which I had a sample of and had food envy, although I had the Feta & Parma Ham Parcel and I was not disappointed. They were delicious. Again half the group got the blackened chicken and the rest ordered the lamb. Everyone was impressed with the food and lovely interior. I would definately recommend a visit to MV Cill Airne

Yelp
I went there once and am looking forward to visit it again, the food and service were very good.

Yelp
I love this place!! My husband and I visited Dublin in January and this was right across the river from our hotel, so wanting a nice dinner but not really wanting to travel too far we decided to walk over. We opted to eat in the bar rather than the formal restaurant-- the menus are virtually the same. I has the pan fried sea trout, it was done so well it melted in your mouth. My husband had the honey glazed duck leg. Both of us cleaned our plates and enjoyed a nice glass of wine looking over Dublin at sunset. If we are ever back we will visit the MV Cill Airne again!

Yelp
I've been here for lunch, dinner & a 30th. It is a really unique and cool location. The bar is very chilled out and relaxing and you can walk out on deck with your drunk in the nice weather. The food is good & the portions are big, it is more pub grub that restraunt. It is quite far down from O'Connell bridge but it is worth the walk.

Yelp
My friends and I all had a great experience here for dinner. I had the fish and chips, which was great. I got to sample the duck too, which was tasty.

Yelp
I took my girlfriend here for her birthday. We were running late and I knew we wouldn't be there by the time the kitchen finished. I got onto Dermot, the manager and told him we were running late and he kept the kitchen open an extra 20 minutes to accommodate us! The refurb of this boat is absolutely beautiful. We were supposed to have a tabler for two on he top deck overlooking the liffey but unfortunately, the great Irish weather interfered with our plans so Dermot gave us a nice table by a window on the starboard side facing the river. We weren't too close to other tables so we could have a nice quiet evening. We both had steak and a prime 10oz sirloin arrived out cooked to perfection and with just enough fat to flavour it. The 3 pepper brandy sauce was fantastic too. All in all, food, service and te overall expereince was lovely and memorable and I'll vbe back here again. I also must mention the hearty "welcome aboard" we recieved from Dermot as we climbed the gangplank. Nice touch Dermot. Thank you...full marks!

Yelp
I think the best part of our meal here today was when the waitress, who we had just paid 2 minutes earlier, ran out after us to get the card holder's receipt to prove we had paid. To add insult to injury asked did we want our receipt back... Food was fine but service certainly left a sour taste in my mouth. Have been there a several times before but will not be coming back.

Yelp
We pulled up at the floating jetty in our small cabin cruiser for what promised to be a good night in a novel venue ( which I'd eaten in when scouting out places some days earlier). After some drinks in the bar with friendly staff ( who I might add, knew we came by boat), we had good food downstairs in the restaurant. At about 12:30 we retired to our boat, well imbibed.... Then came a sharp knock on the window, and to my utter amazement we were unceremoniously told to push off...no overnighting here 'for health & safety' reasons!!! Threatened us with the cops etc......nice one lads! So, full of (their) drink we had to head out into the current in the dark, could"t fit under the bridges because of the now high tides, but thankfully found refuge on a floating mooring directly accross. Having just dropped over €200 there I can tell you it was the last thing I expected. Health & Safety how are you! Never again for us with that attitude and the party we were thinking of having there will be somewhere friendly instead.

Yelp
Nice setup, well organized; I like the boat thing. Recommendable!

Yelp
It sucks when you go to a restaurant and all the window seats are taken...well that ain't a problem if you choose to dine at MV Cill Airne...you cant feckin' move for windows, what it being a boat and all that. Not only that, when you step into the main bar area, it is really nicely decked out, rustic tables, pictures, nice layout...hell, it's got a better jacks than my own flat! If you order a platter of snacks, the chips, chicken wings and onion rings are pretty decent, and good value. Officially, i'd give it 3.5 stars if i could give it a half star, largely because i think that friendly service tends to travel a long way in this country, and you could fit the combined amount of positive vibes coming from the staff into a shot glass, and that's pushing it. A bit odd, 'cus the day i went was lovely and sunny, and i couldn't see any reason why they should be as cold as they were. Also, no ambient music...this is a big no no in a gaff like this. It would have been great if there was some chilled acoustic noodling away in the background, but no luck. I would definitely go back sometime, say if i'm meeting someone for a quiet pint of a Saturday afternoon, 'cus the view is nice, but with the negative vibes i was getting the day i went, it risks being labelled as a "dive". There's probably a pun there somewhere......

Yelp
Having drinks on a boat in the middle of the Liffey - what's not to love? I had heard about this pub for awhile, but had never had the opportunity to give it a try. That all changed the day we arrived in Dublin, as my husband was due to have some drinks with some buddies he used to work with, and the MV Cill Airne is close to the office. So we headed to "The Boat Bar" at around 9pm, and even though I was extremely jet lagged and fighting a nasty cold, I had a great time. I figure that's pretty much a ringing endorsement. Plus, again, drinks on a boat - not your typical pub experience, but still a cool one. We got there before the big group, so we grabbed a small table in the Blue River Bistro Bar area (on the upper deck) and ordered the Antipasto Meats plate and some chips to share, both of which were very good to my tired and starving self. As someone else mentioned, the chips are of the large chunky variety, which is a personal favorite, and they were hot and delicious. Both the chips and the Antipasto plate were a good sized portion, perfect for sharing. I let the husband buy my drinks, so I don't know how they rated cost-wise to other pubs in the area, but I do know that even as the group my husband was meeting arrived and the Boat filled up, the bartenders kept our drinks coming as quickly as we needed them. All of the staff were friendly and personable, the ladies room was nice and clean, and the bar itself was very nice. There wasn't a whole lot of "movement" from the river, but that's probably a good thing, and the view of the city from the Liffey was cool. We ended up staying until closing time (actually later than closing time, as we didn't leave until after 1am), and everyone enjoyed themselves. I'd definitely go back to the Boat Bar the next time I'm in Dublin.

Yelp
I was actually going to an Italian place when I saw this boat and I had to go. I ordered the bacon blue cheese burger which was alright but had way to much blue cheese.. The burger bun was all sloppy, however I'd like to go back and try one of their other meals. :-)

Yelp
Booked dinner here before a concert in the 3 Arena, so handy location wise for this. Short walk from Connolly and then not far to concert either. Couldn't fault the dinner- chicken wings for starter and steak for main. Bar seemed busy and the atmosphere was good with friendly waiter staff.

Yelp
Great idea this ..nice drinks and restaurant which I didn't try.. However they roasted a pig and charged 6€ for a pork baguette . There was very little pork,in a word mean. All you taste is the bread..very poor indeed...don't try it !

Yelp
Celebrated my 60th on board the MV Cill Airne at the end of March and I can't speak highly enough of the venue. A special thanks must go to Dermot and his crew for the professionalism and attention on the night. Fabulous canapes and wonderful surroundings - the White Bar is a great venue for that special occasion. Kindest regards. John and Claire

Yelp
had a citydeal voucher for 2 glasses of prosecco and canapes for the MV cill airne. when i got there on friday eve i went up to the bistro/pub on the upper deck, it was very crowded and loud. i was with my date and we were hoping to get a quieter table but there wasn't any. it was more of a pub atmosphere than a bistro atmosphere. the processco came in plastic glasses and the taste was OK, even though i don't usually drink prosecco so i'm not sure what a good one tastes like. the 'canapes' arrived which were simply awful. a couple of dry chicken satay skewers, some deep fried fish and chips, deep fried cheese things, a pathetic looking little salad and something else. maybe the real restaurant downstairs is better but the bistro is no good for a nice date. it does look pretty good for beers with the buddies though.

Yelp
Brought here as a surprise 4 my birthday, a unique restaurant, relaxing and romantic for couples. Staff were very friendly and attentive. Food was delicious, alot of choice 4 seafood lovers, if like me you don't do the whole seafood thing...you wont be disappointed with the steak, good quality food and very reasonably priced.
