MyCity hotel in Tallinn is an absolute gem. It's in the former Soviet naval officer barracks right in Old Town. The architecture is beautiful (inside and out) with lots of stunning natural stone. The location can't be beat- literally steps from the main roads, but still right in Old Town.
The staff is what really makes this a great hotel. We arrived on the ferry several hours before we could officially check in. The young lady working front desk (unfortunately I don't recall her name) was very helpful and understanding. She got all of our check in paperwork done so we could essentially just get our key when our room was ready. Our bags were stowed in their secure luggage hold, and we set out to explore the town. Their staff sent us a text message as soon as our room was ready (which was before the official "check in" time).
The room itself was quiet and comfortable.
Breakfast is stunning, with a wide variety of meats (including cold smoked trout), cheeses, breads, pastries, etc.
We plan to visit Tallinn again in a year or so and will undoubtedly stay here again.
