My Story Hotel Tejo, a Design Boutique Hotel Lisbon, Portugal

"Set in the heart of the Baixa, Lisboa Tejo is a creative renovation of an historic building. It is in a prime location within Lisbon's historic downtown, at just 300 metres from Rossio and a 9-minute walk from Commerce Square, which overlooks the Tagus River. Rooms at Hotel Lisboa Tejo are decorated in light yellows, greys and greens, with vintage armchairs and wooden headboards. Satellite TV and minibars are featured in each guest room. The nearest metro station is Rossio, just 300 metres away. The Chiado and São Jorge’s Castle are 15 minutes’ walk away. Hotel Tejo has a 24-hour front desk, offering luggage storage. For guests arriving by car, there is public parking available nearby at a charge." - My Boutique Hotel (en)

On our May 2025 visit to Lisbon, my wife and I spent five days at this hotel. We liked its priviliged location, close to some attractions, and withing walking distance to a couple of Metro Stations and nice Squares. Our room was relatively small and somewhat dated, but quiet and clean. ||We did not enjoy however, the very small and always crowded breakfast room. This hotel apparently caters a lot to tour groups. During our stay, at least three were lodging there. The breakfast ingredients were fine. The staff did not seem to be very professional, we found it somewhat dismissive. Also, their transfer service are rather expensive.||Another aspect we did not enjoy was the boxed breakfasts offered when we were not able to have breakfast at the hotel. Very skimpy, of low quality and cheap ingredients. On our departure day, at an early hour, we opted to head to the airport and had something better over there.||My bottom line is this; the Hotel Tejo would be good for a short stay in Lisbon if the good location is important. Otherwise, you would be better off staying somewhere else.

Great central location with walking distance to many attractions. While the outside was unassuming, the inside was so cute and modern while still incorporating the centuries old stone structures. The staff was so kind and helpful and the breakfast (additional low cost per person) was super yummy - totally worth it! When we had a terrible airport delay they completely refunded us at just a few hours notice and then, later, accommodated for us to stay an extra night at our request! A great Lisbon stay!

This hotel was just perfect! It’s in a perfect location and the rooms were surprisingly large especially the bathroom. They are good with travelers and can store your bags if the room isn’t ready. It was affordable, clean, great location, very large rooms by European standards and felt very safe and clean. We traveled with our infant and they were quickly able to have a travel crib and sheets put in the room which was perfect. We’ll def stay at a My Story property again!!

Stayed with my family of four had a very nice double room. Rooms were clean and very quiet considering you are in the heart of the city. We were able to walk to almost all the places we wanted to see. Tram 28 ends/begins a block away. Able to walk to castle Sao Jorge, Rossio train station, down to the waterfront. Lots of shopping and restaurants close by. Front desk staff was very friendly and they were nice enough to store our luggage the day we arrived and the day we checked out so we could have more time to explore Lisbon

We had room 319. Nice room, good size, modern furniture and bathroom. Comfortable bed. Downside, no view; we looked out on a very small, fully enclosed courtyard. However, didn't bother us too much as we were out most of the time during daylight. The upside was no traffic noise at all, despite the Hotel being in a fairly busy corner. In the room there was a fridge with water etc (payable). Also a coffee maker, which only worked to heat up water, must have been broken as coffee pods did not work. Again, not a problem as we had our own coffee and tea. There was Rituals soap, shower gel and shampoo in the bathroom. Good size TV had CNN, didn't try any other channels as not there to watch TV! Free safe in wardrobes. Towels changed every day. Breakfast was really good. Good selection of cereals and pasties, fresh bread, cheese, meat. Scrambled eggs, beans, mushrooms, vegetables and really nice fruit. The orange segments were especially tasty. Restaurant was very smalk though. The hotel is very well located, just round the corner from Tram 28 stop one way (massive queues though, suggest Tram 12 better option). Also a flat walk along main street down to the River. We also walked to the train station at Cais do Sodre. 20 minute walk, train to Cascais by the sea, absolutely beautiful place, 40mins on the scenic train. We ate at local restaurants, Elavador was the best, not far from the Victorian elevator, just around the corner from the hotel. Had a fantastic time. Booked with Easyjet, private transfers and Lisboa card also booked with Easyjet. Lisboa card is great, no queueing for tickets for many attractions and many were free with the card. The Castle was great, went straight past the main queue, showed the card and went straight in. Card gives you free Tram, bus, train rides, highly recommend you buy in advance online.

We stayed at the My Story Hotel Tejo for three nights in Early April. The hotel arranged private transfers to and from the hotel…both went smoothly. We arrived early in the morning, and they kept our luggage for us while we explored Lisbon. We checked in later in the day…staff was very friendly. The hotel has free breakfast…about what you would expect with a good variety. They do not have lunch or dinner.||The location is excellent…very close to bus, taxi, Hop on and Off bus, Rossio station, and a large square with open air food vendors. Lots of restaurants close by and a convenience type store right next door…all very walkable.||We took advantage of a sale they were having and booked a suite…room 216. The room was large, and all was in good shape. There was a king-sized bed with a desk, free coffee and minibar drinks, TV, and the bathroom at one end and a sitting room with a couch and another desk and TV on the other end. There were two windows that opened…but when closed blocked out the street noise effectively.||The only negatives… #1 the smell of cleaning products in the room…this seems like it is something they should have fixed by now given the consistent feedback. We opened both windows for a few hours and the cross breeze cleared it out. We refused housekeeping the rest of our stay so the smell would not come back. #2 the bathroom does not have enough shelf space for two people to keep stuff. #3 the view out of the room is of a derelict building.||Taking everything into account, we enjoyed our stay here and would recommend.

My girlfriend and I took a 2 week trip to Portugal. We started in Lisbon at this hotel for 2 nights. The location was amazing and the staff was great. Our first two night stay was great but our air conditioning didn’t work in our room and it was HOT. Unfortunately it couldn’t get resolved by the time our stay was up. We brought this up with management and they ensured our next stay would be much more comfortable. (We were coming back for one night at the end of our trip) The staff/management went absolutely above and beyond to make sure we were taken care of and to make sure we had an extremely comfortable stay. My girlfriend and I were blown away by the type of service and care we received from the staff. My Story Hotel Tejo has some of the best, if not the best, service I have ever received and I hope they get recognized for it. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone staying in the Lisbon area. You will not be disappointed!

We’ve stayed twice at My Story Tejo and it’s been perfect for one night both times. It’s close to everything in the city centre and the rooms were clean and big. Also the second time we had a nice view from the room
