My Story Hotel Tejo

We recently stayed here for a 4 night city break in Lisbon. We wanted a central hotel that was good value and this hotel seemed to fit our needs. The location was indeed fantastic, we could walk to a lot of places and there were plenty of public transport options handily located nearby (trams, buses, taxis). There are plenty of restaurant options nearby as well.||Our room was very clean, the bed was comfortable and we had asked for a quiet room and were given one on the 6th floor. This meant having to take 2 lifts with a short walk between lifts but this didn't cause us any issues. Our room faced inward so no real view but did ensure it was lovely and quiet and we didn't hear any noise from the traffic and busy city outside which was important to us. Breakfast was really nice and had enough variety to ensure we weren't bored. The pastries in particular were lovely. One tip, the hotel does get quite a few tour groups in which can make breakfast really busy and hard to find a seat but we found going down a bit later ie 9am, rather than 8am, meant it was a lot quieter and a more enjoyable breakfast experience as the tour groups has left for the day. ||We used the hotel private transfer to go back to the airport at the end of our stay and found it a really smooth process. The hotel had also packed up a breakfast for us as we had an early return flight that meant we'd miss it so we were able to eat that when we got to the airport.||We found the staff really helpful, friendly and professional and all in all we were really glad we picked this hotel for our first visit to Lisbon. We would certainly use this hotel again if we ever go back to Lisbon.

Stayed one night on route to Faro.. we had a great stay, staff were kind and helpful, and we especially loved our bags being put in our rooms from the luggage storage while we were out exploring before check in. Nice touch.||We loved the smell of the room, it was clean, spacious with comfy large bed and pillows. Aircon worked and the shutters made the room super dark so we slept very well. Our room faced internally so we had no view but it made it very quiet.||Breakfast was plentiful with lots of choice.||Location of hotel is great and there are great restaurants within a minutes walk plus the tram 28 is 2 mins away. Well worth the long queue to get in it. Have patience!

Booked this through a local travel agent, bed and breakfast and it was superb. Location was brilliant, and well situated centrally. Room we had was lovely clean and compact. (had to take 2 lifts though which didn't bother us. One to 2nd floor, walk down corridor and then one to 5th.) Room well cleaned daily. Breatfast was great with a large buffet selection both hot and cold ( the mini Pastel de Nata were my favourite of the whole trip) The Praça da Figueira square is a 30 second walk. Plenty restaurents near by and the hop on hop off buses are close by plus the metro. Theres a well stocked mini market shop next to hotel for water etc.

This hotel was just perfect! It’s in a perfect location and the rooms were surprisingly large especially the bathroom. They are good with travelers and can store your bags if the room isn’t ready. It was affordable, clean, great location, very large rooms by European standards and felt very safe and clean. We traveled with our infant and they were quickly able to have a travel crib and sheets put in the room which was perfect. We’ll def stay at a My Story property again!!

MyStory is a chain hotel, European minimalist styling. Honestly..there are much better hotels to stay at for the $350 per night. It functions, it fills a purpose, but glad I'm moving to better after one night. I found the young dayshift desk staff to be a little uppity, doing more yakking than work, and not going above&beyond for anything, or anyone... too many rules, zero flexibility, very apparent they lack patience.

The location was good, it was clean and the bed was cozy. However, our room was not at all how it was in the picture. It was small which I guess is okay for a city room. But what dissapointed us the most is that it had practicaly no daylight. We had four nights booked and received a room facing the tiny courtyard which meant that u could only see the wall next to you and one could easily look into your room from the aisle. Plus we had no air from outside coming in since it is a closed courtyard. When we asked for a room with a bit more light and privacy, they asked us to come again the next day before the new check ins. This was fine by us as they were trying to be helpful but the next morning we unfortunately had a unfriendly person at the reception that just said you are too late to change the room now. So yes the hotel is okay but the room was definately not like in the picture and in my opinion not at all worth the money.

Great central location with walking distance to many attractions. While the outside was unassuming, the inside was so cute and modern while still incorporating the centuries old stone structures. The staff was so kind and helpful and the breakfast (additional low cost per person) was super yummy - totally worth it! When we had a terrible airport delay they completely refunded us at just a few hours notice and then, later, accommodated for us to stay an extra night at our request! A great Lisbon stay!

Great location and very quiet hotel. Good breakfast as well. ||As mentioned in other reviews, the young check-in staff do not offer much more than quick answers to questions. There were about 7 standing around the small desk. |During our stay, there was water at the front desk when we came in parched from all the walking in the hot sun. They provided a bag of ice when asked. There is a main small elevator and another elevator just around down to the left after the first one. ||Overall, we would stay here again. We stayed three nights this time.

I'd probably stay here again (or in the same network). They checked in us 1 hour earlier after our night flight, which is great! Location: Close to everything, easy taxi access. Room: a bit smaller than expected, but it's ok. Only one weird thing was location of mirror light switch. It was by the night light stand. If you are alone and it's day, you won't see what this switch controls.

The good: Helpful front desk staff! Spoke English & helped alot. Very clean room and a fantastic bathroom. Hotel breakfast is awesome, best cheese I have had. Croissants, chorizo, ham, bacon, fruit, granola, juice, coffee, etc. Location is incredible, next to great food & a retail/food square, souvenir shops & walking distance to tons of historical locations. The not so good: Tiny room, one foot between the bed & wall. No drawers, small nightstand. The location is great, but nearby can be dangerous at night.

Good hotel in a convenient location. Comfortable beds, nice and quiet despite being in a busy area. Big breakfast buffet available for 15 euro per person. Many many restaurants and shops nearby. No parking at the hotel, but 24h parking was available right across the plaza, we paid ~25 euro to park overnight.

My Story Hotel Tejo is beautiful. The location is great. The staff are friendly and try to be helpful. Unfortunately, that is the good news. There is a lot more bad news. The rooms are uncomfortable and poorly set up. The mattresses are hard as rocks. Our room had one small closet but no dresser or drawers to unpack our clothes. The hotel does not provide Kleenex or wash clothes. While they do provide body wash and shampoo, they don't give you any soap. There is also no maintenance staff on site and, when a problem did occur, they acted helpless. We had a plumbing problem that flooded our room at about 7:00 PM. We told the front desk and they said they would take care of it. At 10:30 PM nothing had been done. When we asked about what they were doing we were told that maintenance was informed at that they would handle it in the morning because they did not work at night. When we asked what we were supposed to do about sleeping they didn't seem to care and told us there were no other rooms in the hotel. When we told them they would have to pay for a room in a different hotel to resolve the problem, a room suddenly became available. There is no concierge available for tourists who want information. The staff tries to be of assistance, but they often don't know the answer and the information they do provide is frequently incorrect. We were regularly told that walking distances were much longer or much shorter than they actually were and were often directed to incorrect tram stops for our destination. In one specific case, we were told the walk from the Thieves Market to the Pantheon was about 30 minutes and had a lot of hills. The two locations were actually right next to each other. At check out we had additional problems at the front desk. Without, informing us, they charged both rooms to a single card that had been used to reserve the rooms instead of charging the two rooms to the separate credit cards presented at check in. We intentionally did not use the first card at check in, or want it used, because of high international conversion fees and because we wanted to pay for each room separately. The people at the front desk has no idea how to refund a credit card and it took them more than half the day to figure it out. We loved Lisbon and will be back. We won't stay here again.

The hotel is modern, inexpensive and located in a terrific area of the city; convenient to the pedestrian-only areas, the river, the Market, dozens of restaurants, the trolley, the train to Cascais, you name it. The staff were wonderful. We were upgraded to a larger room upon request, for our entire week's stay at no extra charge. The front desk staff were so very nice and thoughtful and helpful in so many different ways. Their restaurant recommendations were great. They really made our stay wonderful. The buffet breakfast (which we indulged in but once) was one of the best we've ever had in Europe, especially for the price, and again, the restaurant staff were very nice as well. The room we were upgraded to was larger than the first, but had an "L" shape layout, with one of the "legs" containing the bed (giant King-sized) and bath area and the other a pullout sofa, desk and fridge. The "bedroom" area was tight and the bath very much so. That said, we made it work by using the sofa as a place to hold luggage and the window areas as temporary storage areas as well. The bath was very small, but modern and the shower was fantastic! Also, the space between the foot of the bed and the wall was so narrow that my shoulders were constantly brushing against the wall-mounted TV, each time I passed along that "walkway". The bed was very comfortable. The room was clean and as it was really only used to sleep, etc., it was fine. The staff and the location and general vibe of the lobby and restaurant more than compensated. Very, very good value and terrific location to use as a base to really explore the city
