On the Grid : My Street Food

"With all the classics in tow, My Street Food (MSF) is the place to go if you’re after Vietnamese. Only open for lunch, everything is so well priced it almost feels like you’re ripping them off. If it’s hot outside, cool down with one of their coconut juices – ‘tis hella-refreshing, and goes so well with their bánh mì." - Josephmark

Pretty good! We came as it was known as the best banh mi in Queensland (or maybe Brisbane). I got the chicken one and my partner got the pork one as I don’t eat pork. The chicken was a bit dry which detracted from the banh mi. My partner tried both my one and his, and he said his was a lot better, so keep this in mind. We sat outside (not at the restaurants tables but just on the seats in the street) so I couldn’t really say much about the seating and vibe, but it seemed pretty well organised and ample!

Absolutely incredible! Hands down the best Banh Mi I’ve ever had – anywhere in Australia. I tried the grilled pork first (so tasty!) and then the crispy pork belly… wow! Perfectly cooked, full of flavour, and seriously addictive. The crispy fried rice is a hidden gem – totally unique and bursting with flavour. Warm, welcoming, and full of heart — you’re treated like family the moment you walk in. The owner and Ana are absolute legends and make the experience unforgettable. Can’t wait to return. This place is a total gem — a must-visit!

Like a banh mi straight out of Vietnam. This was the best banh mi I’ve had since being in Vietnam. Bread was fresh, crispy and soft inside. The filling was great. Wait wasn’t too long, didn’t try anything else this time. I will be back to try other dishes soon though

Service was super quick but the food was so-so. The crispy pork banh mi was good and I like that they add pate, but maybe I had too high expectations because the banh mi is supposedly the best in Brisbane.

There was a long queue when I arrived close to noon which I understand it’s a common occurrence for them. I could feel like the team was pretty overwhelmed with orders. When it was close to our turn they took out the sold out sign for the banh mi. However a couple of minutes later they announced they could do probably another 10 rolls which I was glad to hear. I ordered the traditional pork roll and crispy pork roll. I’m probably one of the few that did not enjoy my roll. The maggi seasoning was too strong and some parts of the roll were exceptionally dry. Nothing stood out for me. Will not return as there are better options at Darra.

Loved the signature MSF BBQ Pork Bánh Mì at My Street Food! The BBQ pork was perfectly grilled and coated in their chef’s special sauce—smoky, sweet, and packed with flavour. This place is a true gem for authentic Vietnamese street food with a gourmet twist. Can’t wait to come back!

Google
(Satisfied work crew). We ordered 6 Banh Mi and for its price the amount of meat and it's flavors, the portion of veggies in it, no one was disappointed. Great job 'My Street Food' it was definitely worth the travel from Milton 🫡

I'm a local, and go here every week on Thursdays in my lunch break from work. These guys have the best Bahn Mi in Brisbane, hands down. Lovely staff, great food, reasonable prices!! Will DEFINATELY keep coming back every week. ☺️

Yelp
I work in an office in Coorparoo which is filled to the brim with ravenous tummy's every weekday from around 12pm. The usually polite and mild-mannered bunch can turn instantly into a pack of raging monsters foaming at the mouth and arguing about where to bring our lunchtime business as we lament the limited options available in the vicinity. It was with great relief one weekday lunchtime that I discovered My Street Food Vietnamese existed. With the promise of fresh authentic dishes direct from Vietnam I bundled my colleagues into a car and drove the 2 minutes down the road to the little store-front. We have been back many, many times since that fateful day and it has now become an accepted part of our lunchtime repertoire. M.S.F Chicken Crispy Fried Rice has become the undisputed favourite of the entire office space. The melt-in-your-mouth chicken doused heavily in an aromatic marinade coupled with the crunchy rice and sweet cucumber and carrot slivers is a match made in heaven. We all feel fresher after eating this particular dish, and even the most decadent of the group will often choose it over a heavier fast-food option. The Vermicelli Salad with Lemongrass Pork comes a firm second in the lunch-time line-up. The pork is always soft and tender and couples beautifully with the flat rice noodles and lettuce, cucumber and herb salad. When comparing this dish to the version at Gabba Takeaway the My Street Food option is always nicer with a better quality cut of pork and far less sinewy, fatty bits. The store itself is an exercise in bright, clean functionality. A team of workers bustle behind the counter brimming with fresh ingredients and pre-made rice paper rolls. Phone orders are encouraged, and there is a convenient car spot right out the front for dash-and-carry lunchtime pick-ups. The prices are reasonable with most dishes under $10 and it won't tax your health either. I highly recommend this local gem for takeaway options. It's a pity they don't open for fast and healthy dinner inspiration, but I'll take what I can get.

Yelp
We came back here to try the banh mi - and they were fantastic. Fresh crusty baguette spread with pate and mayonnaise, filled with carrot, cucumber, fresh coriander, and your choice of meat and/or chilli. My husband and I shared the crispy pork belly and the fire breath beef (chilli and lemongrass). It was just wonderful!!

Yelp
The banh mi (pork roll) is the bomb! Crispy bread, freshly grilled pork, and a special Mayo/pate? AND it's decently priced! The staff are super nice and service is quick. So glad I live around the corner!
