The 50 Best Restaurants in Latin America for 2023 Were Just Announced | Condé Nast Traveler

"After training in Osaka, Japan, Tsumura returned to Lima to celebrate his Japanese and Peruvian heritage. The result is Maido. While those on the hop can order nigiri at the sushi counter, Tsumura’s masterful 11-course Nikkei Experience is mouth-watering: think toro bluefin tuna, sliced tableside with the precision of a master jamonero, seasoned with yuzu then lightly caramelized. Pairings by sommelier Florencia Rey include Old World, Latin American, and Peruvian vintages; of particular note is her diverse and colorful alcohol-free program. Chocoholics, meanwhile, will adore pastry chef Dalila Sifuente’s artful journey through cacao."

Hands down the best teppanyaki experience I’ve had in Japan. My partner and I were visiting Osaka for the very first time and did not think of coming to a teppanyaki place but we were so glad our friend recommended. Thanks again Yoriko-san for the warm hospitality and welcome!

I had such a wonderful time at this teppanyaki restaurant in Osaka! The food was delicious and beautifully prepared, but what really stood out was the amazing service. Yoriko took such great care of me from start to finish. She was welcoming, attentive, and made sure everything was perfect throughout our visit. I would definitely come back to eat here again! It’s rare to experience this level of warmth and hospitality—Yori truly made the evening special. If you’re in Osaka and looking for not only fantastic food but also outstanding service, I can’t recommend this place enough

As many reviews have said, there are a few different menu options here, and depending on what type of menu you order, the seating is different. There is FUN, LUXE and kappo. The FUN menu seems to be more casual and creative, LUXE has higher end ingredients but still a fusion kind of style, and Kappo seems to be more of a kaiseki style with less emphasis on the teppanyaki. The service here is excellent and very attentive, and even for the LUX side, the chef is very informal and tries to make a lot of small talk with customers. English level from the staff is also quite high, due to being in the W hotel. Speaking of which, it seems Bonvoy members get 10% off, at least during dinner. The food itself was quite good, and the ingredients were high quality. The portions are not large, and I was not 100% full, so I also ordered the Okonomiyaki. It's not the typical style and was quite light and fluffy. For the meat, they also let you pick a knife to use, with some comically large knives which seemed to be more like butcher knives.. Haha.. Anwyays, the overall meal was pleasant and convenient if staying at the W or nearby.

Had an exceptional experience here with Kenji, Yu Ki, and Yuto making sure that we got to enjoy every aspect of our meal. The space was beautiful, and having the chance to view the process of cooking each course was mesmerizing. We had the LUXE meal, which meant we got to enjoy all of the fanciest and most expensive offerings, which felt well worth the money and time precisely because the chefs and waiter were so attentive. We loved our dinner experience!

Amazing Kuroge Wagyu beef, superb service as we should expect. It’s a good mix of French/ Japanese teppanyaki. The chef is not as playful as some I had experienced but very nice and cook good food. I chose a Kuroge wagyu course and it is satisfying, my only wish for a different is I wish there are more beef in the course.

Nakamura sirloin was the best for me. But all beef and vegetables are delicious. Went for the a la carte option and it was great

Make a reservation prior to heading down. When checked in the morning, there were Open slots for 11am, 12pm, and 1:30pm. You have the option of a-la-carte or to order one of their sets. We took the set and it was pretty good! The chef was friendly as well.
