Ikon Pass Holders Can Now Ski 9 More Mountains in Asia | Condé Nast Traveler

"Located at the foot of Mount Myoko about two hours from Tokyo, Suginohara boasts around 44 feet of annual snowfall and Japan’s second-longest groomed run at just over five miles; its wide-open terrain, lakeside views, and powder-filled steeps make it ideal for long days on the slopes, and on clear days you can even spot Mount Fuji from the runs." - Jessica Chapel

Love the nice long runs! Our favourite in the area so far, we were lucky to have powder snow for 3 days. Fantastic slopes for all levels. For snowboarders we suggest to avoid going on the way to the bottom as it gets very flat some walking is required before getting to the bottom lift to bring u up to the main chair lifts.

Great ski resort, pretty icy conditions in the middle of March. Very empty on a weekday. The 8.5km ride from top to bottom is a good leg workout! Our instructor was a pro and very helpful to improve!

We had two amazing days skiing here. Long runs and brilliant snow. Lift pass Q only busy at 9 when lots of people arrive and that’s the only time we queued. Once people are on the mountain there are no real queues ( this was mid week ). Great for all levels ( you can get your pass on line also which means no Q, scan you bar code, collect pass and off you go (WAmazing)).Usual places to grab lunch on the mountain or at the base

Long groomed runs were such a pleasure to ski down! The resort is big, so there were barely queues once we got onto the mountain. My favorite resort in Myoko - chairlifts moved pretty fast when there wasn’t wind and there was plenty to choose from for beginners to advanced skiers. The chairlifts with bubbles were helpful on days where it was dumping.

My favorite resort! I tried many of the Nagan area ski resorts and Suginohara is the one that I keep coming back to the most. Tree skiing is amazing, a lot of snow, long wide slopes to practice, and not crowded:)

Probably my favorite resort. I have been skiing in Japan for 17 years. This resort is modern with fast quad lifts and the gondola. The snow park is possibly the widest run in Japan. Huge powder runs. A cute little village section with some good local food. The only downside is the access.. really need a car to get out here

Good runs for all ski or board abilities, great views of surrounding mountains/Mt Fuji on a clear day. The park is one of the best in the area despite a few kooky features. Lifts are all quick with a good gondola taking you 3km up mountain. Restaurant options are good but not many vegetarian options available. The 8.5km run is great fun and will burn the legs of all skiing or boarding abilities

Came here on a big powder day! It was powder everywhere even on a the groomed slopes. Most of the chairlifts were fast and working. Will come again!
