Myōkō Suginohara Ski Resort

8.5km run was so much fun! Such great powder and services at Sughinohara. Easy to rent gear as a foreigner. Enclosed gondola lift was a real treat getting up the slopes on a cold snowy day. Great resort for all levels. Food is more expensive here but that is to be expected.

It’s one of the Myoko Ski Areas. No big hotel and not many shops/restaurants at the bottom of the mountain. So it’s very quiet area. It’s not a big resort and quite suitable for beginner. But only 1 blue and 2 black runs from the top of the mountain.

I actually liked this mountain better than the bigger resorts like Lotte. Yes, it's a narrow mountain with limited runs, but they're long trails and not crowded. This place is targeted towards, and GREAT for beginner and intermediate levels. Lift lines are short and move quickly. As of 2026, if you happen to be an Ikon Pass holder, your pass will work instantly at the lift, no fuss! The base Lodge had probably the best food I've ever had snowboarding, period. My home mountains are in Tahoe, so I'm really going to miss this place.

Love the nice long runs! Our favourite in the area so far, we were lucky to have powder snow for 3 days. Fantastic slopes for all levels. For snowboarders we suggest to avoid going on the way to the bottom as it gets very flat some walking is required before getting to the bottom lift to bring u up to the main chair lifts.

Usually less crowded than Hakuba. Mainly groomed slopes with few good ungroomed areas. Parking free on weekdays but 1k on weekends.

Great ski resort, pretty icy conditions in the middle of March. Very empty on a weekday. The 8.5km ride from top to bottom is a good leg workout! Our instructor was a pro and very helpful to improve!

We had two amazing days skiing here. Long runs and brilliant snow. Lift pass Q only busy at 9 when lots of people arrive and that’s the only time we queued. Once people are on the mountain there are no real queues ( this was mid week ). Great for all levels ( you can get your pass on line also which means no Q, scan you bar code, collect pass and off you go (WAmazing)).Usual places to grab lunch on the mountain or at the base

Suginohara Ski Resort has stunning views with wide, open slopes and a beautiful mountain backdrop. The runs are long, well groomed, and the area feels spacious and not too crowded. A great place to ski and s if you enjoy smooth runs and amazing scenery. Highly recommended.
