Quite small but clean. Easy to get to and 10 minutes from the beach. We arrived a few hours early for our United flight and there was no one at the desk. The Souhwest guy said we should have flown Southwest because HE was there..... love li!! United for some reason doesnt start checking people in until a couple hours before the flight.

Titi Fowler

Google
Such a small clean airport. Very colorful atmosphere. Not a busy airport. Took me less than 10 minutes to get through TSA

I had a wonderful experience at Myrtle Beach Airport! The staff were polite, welcoming, and very helpful, making everything smooth from check-in to security. The airport was clean, well-organized, and easy to navigate, which made traveling stress-free. I especially appreciated the friendly atmosphere and how quickly everything moved. It was a pleasure flying through this airport, and I look forward to coming back again. Highly recommend for a positive travel experience!

Google
Good experience, airport is small and maneuverable. Lots of food options and places to buy gear.

Small older looking airport but very efficient. We landed and got to the gate right away. The baggage claim was about 5 minutes walk. We saw bunch of restaurants on the way. Checked bags started to arrive at the conveyer belt within 10 minutes of disembarking. The rental car pick zone is right outside the exit less than a minute walk. Lanes and spots are clearly marked for finding rentals.

Google
Nice, quick, and easy airport. Everything about this airport is fantastic. It’s so much better than the giant hub airports around the country. Always so easy to fly in and out. Has plenty amenities and everything is clean. Parking is a pleasure, it’s so close to the terminal. There is only one non-great thing about this airport. They don’t fly direct to a large variety of places. You often have to catch a connecting flight to get to your final destination. Highly recommended.

Google
Very clean and well organized airport. Got through the TSA line pretty quickly and baggage drop off went well too. Elevators, stairs and escalators were available. Lots of places to get a bite to eat and stores to shop. Lots of seating throughout the airport. And there’s areas for your pets to do their business. It’s a good size airport, but not as huge where you have to take a tram to different terminals. Very nice!

On my return from vacation your shuttle driver Stacy Westray. Went above and beyond to help me. I attempted to start my to no avail. Stacy helped me diagnose the problem and waited to let the AAA truck into the closed lot. He came by a couple of times between his runs until my car was up and running. He made me feel safe and I was able to stay calm at the end of a long travel day Thank You Stacy, you are the best!!

Yelp
My Favorite Airport I understand this is an airport review. What could be good about an airport? Well i will tell you the simple work here is convenience. Easiest airport to navigate around. Car rentals right out side the exit door across the walkway. Quick lines and TSA. Never overly busy and the airport is basically right in the middle of Myrtle. Meaning equal distances from the Inlet or to North Myrtle. If you're visiting or departing from Myrtle, the distance isn't more than a 20 minute drive. You will never need to get the airport hours in advance even with a rental. So easy, thanks

Curt R.

Yelp
Unfortunately, after millions of dollars in facility upgrades, airlines still treat this airport like a step-child, and the TSA still makes you feel like a criminal (how long does it take to look through my suitcase with the new x-ray machine?). Until the attitude of the airlines and TSA decide that the passengers here matter just as much as other passengers, this will remain a tough place for me to willingly book. On a side note, the number of people here with phones and iPads on "speaker" rather than using headphones is epidemic. The number of inexperienced travelers that listen to nothing but obnoxious shows at high volume combined with a staff that makes no effort to create a comfortable environment makes for a bottom-of-the-barrel traveling experience.

Sami G.

Yelp
Tiny airport...so much construction! Excited to be in Myrtle Beach for the first time! Since it's a small airport, you don't have to walk far to get to baggage claim-nice bonus. Signage isn't great. It is very clean though!

Nehal A.

Yelp
Took our departure flight from here. Returning the rental was very easy clearly marked lanes. Short walk from rental return to terminal. Lots of self check in kiosk. Checked bag lines are short. The security checkpoint is little messy, no one controlling the passengers flow between regular and TSA lines. At one point TSA line was longer than regular line. After the security checkpoint, the airport is pretty nice. It has 2 concourses. Easy to find gates. Few restaurants and shops are available including Starbucks, Subway, Chick-fil-a.

Yelp
Its been quite some time since I'd flown in or out of Myrtle Beach airport. Probably around 25 years which may be why I didn't even recognize this airport. Due to personal logistical challenges, I ended up driving to this airport after attending a conference in the Myrtle Beach area. The airport is very easy to find and not in a very congested area. I had no traffic or issues finding parking. The parking is onsite and reasonable cost. The airport is a short walk from the parking area. TSA pre-check makes getting through very easy. There are plenty of eating and drinking venues, but no club lounges which was to be expected. It probably gets very busy over certain times of the year, but wasn't very busy when I traveled.

Wei H.

Yelp
Small airport. No United lounge. But they do have Starbucks, Chick-fil-A and some restaurants. Car rental is right outside the airport. Very convenient. Checkin/TSA line/baggage claims are all easy to get to.

Carroll N.

Yelp
12.24.23 Smallest airport I've ever been to. It's so small that you can see the Departure and Arrival signage outside and there are no pick up or drop off numbers outside that I could see. I loved the decorations throughout the airport. They had the Sky Wheel, Adirondack Chairs, Brookegreen Gardens, and Christmas trees. They have a few Hudson kiosks, fast food and sit-down restaurants. Not a lot to do if you have a layover. There are limited restroom stalls too.

Jennifer W.

Yelp
We saw the sign saying arrive 2-3 hours early on Friday, Saturday and Sunday due to extreme traffic. We showed up early and thankfully the lines were minimal and only took about 5 minutes. Easiest security check we've ever been through! With that being said on the arrival we had the longest Avis rental car line we've ever been in so I'll give them a separate review.

Shelly J.

Yelp
No complaints here.. this was my layover stop on my home... this airport is sooooi small but better than the big dogs... charging stations is a big deal, ya heard?!! Nice gate agents... and im not too sure on other food options but I flew in early in the morning... I was grouchy and hungry.... and I spotted a Cinnabon ...shop... yes please!! I might fly here when me and the mister... wanna go to the beach instead driving for a long time.

Yelp
We had the pleasure of traveling to Myrtle beach international airport this week. It was such a cute little airport. It had colorful cute chairs setup in front of glass windows in case you want to spend some time plane watching, and the decor was very Beach-like, it felt like we were flying into Hawaii or something. It was just the cutest decor ever. The TSA agents were actually friendly and helpful, they didn't just bark orders and hurry you to do it and pray that their shift ends soon. These TSA agents were helping us load our stuff in the baskets, being friendly and social with people and they looked like they actually enjoyed their jobs. It was refreshing to see this for a change. For being such a small airport in such a small town, I was surprised but they had a ton of restaurant options, and stores. I would love to fly into Myrtle beach airport again!

Yelp
***Late post from my Oct 2023 East Coast trip*** After an hour plus flight from Chicago Midway Int'l Airport - MDW to Myrtle Beach Int'l Airport - MYR, I have arrived in Myrtle Beach, SC. First time here at this airport and surrounding area. It appears to be a smaller airport compared to other airports that I've been to in the past. Myrtle Beach was less than 10+ minutes from the airport which was nice. After deplaning and walking out to the gate area, I was WOWed by the so many colorful beach chairs laid out in the walkway of the terminal. They were so cute and adorable. I had to sit in one of them. Soon after, I went to the baggage claim area. There weren't a lot of people... perhaps we were one of the last flights to Myrtle Beach for the day. My luggage had a late check-in tag on it so I wasn't sure if I was going to get it on that day or if I'll have to return to pick it up the day after. Luckily, it arrived on a different flight same day. A couple Southwest staff brought my luggage to me directly... they somehow knew I was the one who was looking for the luggage LOL. I was impressed. They were very friendly and nice. Thank you ladies! Shortly afterwards, I headed over to the car rental building. Luckily, it was right across the street... so glad it was within walking distance. Thank you MYR! P.S. I will post photos later. Thanks for your patience.

Ashley H.

Yelp
This airport is super clean! All of the staff we came in contact with were friendly. They have cute little things to welcome you to Myrtle beach and take pictures with near baggage claim! They seem pretty organized and got us our luggage quickly!

Brandi I.

Yelp
This airport is small, but efficient. Got through everything easily and my flight was on time. Clean in terms of airports in my opinion.

Libby V.

Yelp
Fairly small airport, but not too small if you get my drift. Easy to get your luggage and head across the street for you rental car. I hate taking those bus trips to remote locations for car rental. You can also grab a bite at the airport if you have time to kill.

A P.

Yelp
Server was amazing! After a long day of flight delays and then cancellation, we are back at airport waiting for flight. Try the Wagu burgers! See pic, we split a burger entree and pretzel appetizer. NOTE: they stop serving breakfast at 10am.

Joe F.

Yelp
Great airport. Awesome parking. Signs everywhere to direct you. Amazing experience. New and comfortable seating. I give it an A+

Anthony M.

Yelp
This airport layout was very simple . I didn't have a problem finding anything. Rental cars are literally right across from the airport. I definitely can wait to come back and I'm not even half way thru my vacation yet lol.

Olivia O.

Yelp
Well manager airport. Security runs efficiently and quickly. The dining options close pretty early for an airport. My flight kept getting delayed and left us with no option for food and drink. I wish they had a self check out counter still open for later hours.

Madhurima D.

Yelp
Airport is small enough to navigate quickly. It is a simple and plain looking place except for colorful beach themed chairs through out. Well kept and clean. The car rental was right across the airport, a few steps away from the exit. Super convenient!

Zoya Z.

Yelp
pro travel tip!!! go to the pavilion bar and grill in terminal b and get a personal pizza and fries for $15 total. they will pack it to go and it makes for the PERFECT travel day dinner/lunch/etc! they even give you napkins and condiments to go and the food was actually super yummy

Ken P.

Yelp
So truth be told I don't fly a whole lot these days but with family living in this neck of the woods I am usually hitting this airport at least once if not twice per year. From my region, I am flying Spirit Airlines from LaGuardia Airport which is truly seldom a good experience but MBI is entirely different. I find the getting through the TSA to be rather timely but now I am almost always prepared for that with any rings in my carry on and my tech devices ready to drop into the little basket to be scanned. I was only stopped once when a large book in a bag made them curious. Believe me I would rather they be aware than not with how the world is. This airport has a LOT of spaces to eat or grab a drink if you choose to do so. My flight is usually very early in the morning and I eat before I fly to not get stuck needing to do that when I arrive. They have an open WiFi to keep yourself amused if your flight is delayed for some reason and its a very, very clean space. I don't mind landing here at all. You might not either.

Megan W.

Yelp
Adorable little airport but can get quite busy during peak season. I had pre-check and still took a little bit since there was a slight crowd in the airport. I loved the beachy details which my little one really enjoyed with the bright colored adirondack chairs and beach themed gift shops!

Casey D.

Yelp
Trash wifi, escalators are always broken. as much as this airport wants to be the "best small airport" its just not giving.

Devin C.

Yelp
We flew during the biggest tech glitch in history. Thankfully we were flying with Southwest. We were all impressed with the staffs amazing upbeat customer service from security to our gates! Great job, guys! Thanks for the great customer service, hospitality and wonderful atmosphere during what should have been a very stressful time.

Nicole D.

Yelp
This airport may be small, but it has everything you need! Plus its small size makes it easy to find where you're going! There are a decent amount of food options for its size, security was as simple as security can be, and it was clean! It may have been my first time visiting, but I would not hesitate to travel to this airport!

Tara R.

Yelp
Small airport and you could feel how small it is during busy times with people all on top of each other. I arrived not too early before my flight so I didn't utilize any of the stores or restaurants although they had some decent options. The staff we encountered were friendly and the airport was pretty clean.

Tricia G.

Yelp
What a gorgeous airport! Not only clean with great little restaurants, but lots of brightly colored benches and Adirondack chairs. The employees were plentiful and seemed nice too.

Ron P.

Yelp
Still a great small airport that is very easy to navigate. The area is growing so many new flight options. Plenty of food options including my favorite Chick-fil-A...

Chad C.

Yelp
Unreasonable and rude security team. I have picked up people in airports across the country, from regional airports to large, international airports, and never experienced the kind of consistently rude and unreasonable security agents present outside of this airport. Once my 78 year old mother in law was literally attempting to get in the car, but prevented from doing so as a security guard yelled at my wife that she could not park except for immediate loading. Another time I was walking up to the car where my wife was just pulling up and listened to the security yell at my wife that she could not be there except for immediate loading. When she motioned in my direction and I waved at the security guard he loudly exclaimed, "I'm not going to argue with you. You're in the wrong and I am right!" They need a more professional, polite, and reasonable security team, immediately.

Riley C.

Yelp
Small international airport that is easy to park and get in. Plenty of food options to choose from and easy to get around.

Mike W.

Yelp
Every time I come home I'm more and more impressed that we have a real airport finally. Small yet big now. (Way better than Atlanta) (I hate you Atlanta)

Marissa N.

Yelp
A nice small to medium sized airport. It was pretty clean. The sculpture area says they rotate but looking at old yelp pictures, it looks like they've been "on loan" and displayed for at least three years.....maybe it's time to rotate. The signage definitely indicate you should be there to vacation.

Lynx M.

Yelp
I would have to say this is now one of my favorite little airports to fly into. It's not the biggest but this airport has personality! Can't say much on anything else because besides the restrooms which were clean but crowded. Cool little airport. Will most likely be back. Very pleasing to the eye with all the vibrant colors and friendly people willing to help!

Tj P.

Yelp
Our flight was cancelled at midnight, no hotel compensation, booked and paid more for a 6 am flight, went to the gate to wait only to be told by the police that we couldn't wait there. We had to go downstairs and out of security. So we'd gone through security and didn't pose a threat and were safe, but had to go downstairs by the doors where any could come in without going through security What about our safety? And it's cold downstairs!

Mark M.

Yelp
I like this airport as it's located not far from the beach! Inside is a very clean and open environment with fresh colors and lots of sunlight to come in. I've always had a decent time flying in and out of here.

Tom E.

Yelp
I flew in here years ago, and the one thing I remembered is that Hooters Air flew here. Of course that would be the only thing that I remember from that trip (hell, that was almost 20 years ago, to be fair). For my most recent trip, I made a day trip to visit my best friend and his family, after learning of a passing in his family. I booked with Delta, out of Atlanta (it looks like Southwest also flies out of Atlanta as well), the night before with no issues. I took a bag with me (it was stuff for him in case he needed it for a funeral) that I ended up checking (since I had Sky Priority, should have been nice and quick, right?) it. The flight there was delayed about 30 minutes (due to our incoming flight from GSP), but once we got moving, it was about a 50 minute flight. Since we did arrive later, I would have assumed they would have made our flight a priority to the baggage claim (more on that in a minute). Deplaning was easy, and we got off of B2 (there is an A side and a B side, don't worry, its a short walk between the two). It was about a 5 minute walk to get to baggage, and saw a few shops and eateries in between. The restroom was clean (I think I went in to the one right after security) and I went straight to baggage claim- which was 4 gates. I understand its covid times, but this process was painfully slow. We were the 3rd flight to get unloaded (it was about 1 flight at a time), and I knew there were about 7 flights that had or were about to land. If I would have known that, I wouldn't have checked the bag (so keep that in mind if you have a time constraint here). I then got picked up. Driving by the parking lots, they seemed pretty cheap, like about 10-12$ a day. Later that night, I flew back out, and this time, I had nothing with me except my phone, wallet, and keys. I was like one of 4 people in security, so that was a breeze. I saw a pre check line, but not a first class line- I don't think that would have been needed, at least not for my flight. I flew back out of B1, and while I did not walk around, it looked like there were a few shops and places to eat past the gate. So in a nutshell, the place is clean, and quiet, but it can get hectic when there are a bunch of planes landing at the same time- seemingly the early afternoon.

Eddy M.

Yelp
Very nice airport clean easy to get to people are very nice that work at the airport.

April W.

Yelp
Got through TSA in about 20 mins! This airport rocks! Wish I had more time here to explore, but I cannot wait to return.

Maria S.

Yelp
A lot can change in nine years. That's when I wrote my first review of MYR. Since then, the Myrtle Beach International Airport has undergone extensive renovations and the experience is much improved. It's still a tiny airport, and getting through TSA security is still a breeze. Getting to your gate is quick and easy, and now there are bright, multi-colored plastic Adirondack chairs along the way if you want to sit a spell. There's much more room at the gates, and more variety in concessions and dining options, like Chick-Fil-A. I, of course, had to indulge in some waffle fries before boarding. The seating is improved, and there are several round tables with chairs and outlets to charge electronic devices. Local knowledge: if you're using long term parking, park in row N, adjacent to the sidewalk. Then when you return, it's easy to find your vehicle. Just walk along the sidewalk into the parking lots until you get to your car.

Denise M.

Yelp
Arriving at MYR 9/29 While it is a small airport it lacks no personality. Coming from an airport like BWI... MYR is definitely refreshing. Very easy to maneuver. I think I got from my gate to baggage claim in about 5-7min. There are only 5 (I think) baggage claim aisles. So it makes getting your luggage fairly simple. Note: once baggage goes by once they take it off the belt and set it aside. So if you don't see your baggage on the belt...look to the side. The only bad thing is once you come to baggage claim there is only one Cinnabon Cafe type place to eat. So if you have to wait a while for transportation...get food before you go to baggage claim. Other than that I have no complaints. I'll come back and add to this after my return flight.

Jocelyn N.

Yelp
This is one of the cleanest, most pleasant airports I've ever been in. Everything looks like it's still new, there's better restaurant options than I've seen in bigger airports and staff is friendlier than most airports. When I flew in and out of here recently, a TSA agent noticed I had a recent birthday and wished me a happy birthday. Another agent had to check something in my carryon bag and I expected her to be rude, but she actually complimented me on the item I was taking home that had to be checked out and started a conversation. Super refreshing experience, considering how travel can be these days.

Erica J.

Yelp
This is one of the cleanest airports through which I've traveled. Though small, the service and ease of navigation here are of great quality. Being from a large city, I'm used to traveling by shuttle bus to get to rental car facilities and parking garages. Everything here was directly outside. Both arrivals and departures are on the same level. There was only one TSA worker checking boarding passes, and I was still able to get through security within 10 minutes. I love that there are relief areas for pets, equipped with fake grass and fire hydrants.

Ashley D.

Yelp
Found this to be the easiest airport to navigate and quite quick to get through the security check, not over crowded, nice selection of stores and restaurants/food. Clean and friendly staff, no complaints!

Joe Z.

Yelp
What a great airport everybody is so nice it's so pleasant there's actually people outside the old way to help you bring your luggage inside with carts. Even the security people were good not like LaGuardia Airport they are miserable son of a bees.

Eric B.

Yelp
Quaint airport in Northern South Carolina. Looking for a vacation home and have down in/out many times over the past 2-months. Restaurants, bars, stores all close too early, especially with many flights leaving later in the evening. **Hint - consessioners**

Garrett Z.

Yelp
Small airport with only two terminals and a total of 12 gates. But don't let the size fool you, this airport delivers top notch service. I don't think I have ever gotten through a TSA in quicker time, five minutes. We walked right into the airport and right to an agent, it was wonderful. With the size don't expect too many options to dine or shop. A few bars, Cinnabon, Caribou Coffee, Steak and Shake, Subway, and Chick-fil-A are what you will find. Plenty of seating though and a lot of electronic hook ups to help pass the time away. This airport was also very well lit and clean, it basically glowed. Very nice airport to get into, we were able to walk from the beach right into the front gate and avoid having to pay for an Uber. All around, a great experience in SC.

Rick T.

Yelp
I've only been to another airport that was easy in and easy out and that's Manchester Airport, New Hampshire. Great airport here. Clean, cheap parking.

Wallace W.

Yelp
A nice smaller sized airport, Myrtle Beach International has two concourses with about 6 gates each. It is conveniently located just minutes from the beach areas and hotels in Myrtle Beach itself. There are a few restaurants and bars, and rental car parking is located very close to the baggage pick up area. The interior is modern clean and pleasant.

Edward P.

Yelp
I love flying into and out of small airports like Myrtle Beach, Scranton, Montgomery, Greenville, etc. Its alway quick and easy. Myrtle Beach Airport has quick and easy check in and getting through TSA is fast. The parking is on $10 a day in economy and you can actually walk to the lot and don't need to take a shuttle. The rental car building is just across the road from the baggage claim area. Airports can be a pain the the you know what but this one is a decent experience.
