Stunning beach and walks around headland. And the rock pools were wonderful. Campground was rough and ready with only long drop toilets n quite spread out but that’s what one is there for….the off grid experience. Heaps of towns nearby and Narooma is well worth the visit.

Mystery beach is lovely, the campground location is very good in relation and it's only a short trip to Narooma. Mains water is great, lots of sites to choose from, no allocations, sites can be very uneven for Vans and it's a bit of a maze. Larger vans may struggle to get in unscathed. No/poor Telstra coverage (retail and wholesale) and everyone ended up with tiny ticks from the long unkept sites. Site staff were helpful and friendly. Felt like some people were casing the sites at one point and found out there's some permanent residents and there's a bit of a theft issue maybe? We had no issues besides a couple people walking back and forth near our camp at night, may have just been lost. Unfortunately it rained heavily for the 2 days we stayed so our experience will differ to many, our site turned into a bit of a mud pit quickly. Did spot a gorgeous python though :)

Well yes it is a very good camping site at a reasonable price. My experience of fellow campers was not so good. Loud music and dogs running free around our camp. I had to remind these two older people that they should read the conditions of camping on their permit, of course they did not control their dogs. What is needed is a camp compliance officer to make patrols around the site greeting and reminding people of the obligations, handing out conditions of camping. I would be happy to do this job civil but firm. A big sign at the entrance that states welcome and the conditions of camping. Otherwise it is a great coastal camp with fresh water and two excellent beaches.

Went to this camping for Australia Day long weekend and, judging by the previous reviews, I thought it’d be packed. The spot was actually pretty chill, not crowded at all, it was quite isolated (just a couple of bathrooms, no hot water) but it was really nice, close to the beach and we got to see some kangaroos and bandicoots.

We had 5 nights booked, hoping for beach side camping as the reviews suggest. We left after 1 night sadly disappointed. When we arrived the camp was so full that there was barely any space to camp! We ended up at the back of the camp ground, miles away from the beach. We had hoped for some quiet privacy for our small family with the usual allocated camping site to ensure there’s enough space for paying campers. This was not the case. Campers came and set up on both sides next to our camp, drinking and playing loud music directly into our camp. They also had dogs. The spot is beautiful but needs allocated camping sites to ensure there’s space for everyone. We left and forfeiting the money we’d payed, opting for free camping with our little family, not ideal.

Mystery Bay is beautiful! The camp ground was just so lovely with huge eucalypts surrounding and protecting from the wind of the bay. The toilets were fine for a composting toilet and plenty around so no matter the site there was one within a short walk. We were easily able to find a space for us and two other families in caravans that was private and spacious with room for a fire. Obviously a hot shower would be desired but we came understanding that this wasn't a facility provided here. We only stayed one night but wish we'd had a week. The beach is so close and the little bays to the south were so fun to explore.

Great spot, fairly busy, no internet 👏 Cold showers, 🥶 This review has been doctored to suit the owners and the camp grounds, It is very pricey for what is provided. The beach is the only feature that is above the line.. I will check to see if they alter this update..

Mystery Bay Campground is a perfect spot for a peaceful, nature-filled retreat. With unmarked camping spots, you can choose your own place to set up, and it’s less than a 5-minute walk to a stunning, unspoiled beach with crystal-clear water. Loader Beach, nearby, is excellent for surfing, adding variety to your stay. This spot is great for families, offering plenty of activities like bushwalking, walking on sands along the beach, mountain biking, and snorkeling. The nights are magical too—I spent hours stargazing under the clear night sky, which was an unforgettable experience. Sitting by a bonfire is a must! Bring your firewood and a fire pit or even make a stone stove to cook on, adds to the adventure. While the campground amenities are basic, with outdoor cold showers and drop toilets, the tranquility and natural beauty more than make up for it. Highly recommend for anyone looking to reconnect with nature!
