My husband and I stayed at Mystery Hotel Budapest as part of our 5th anniversary trip to Europe and absolutely loved our time here. Beautiful rooms, great service, thoughtful amenities and delicious, well-stocked breakfast every morning! The spa area was lovely and not busy. Very convenient location for walking or using public transportation around the city. We would certainly stay here again if (hopefully, when!) we return to Budapest.

Fantastic historic hotel, with attentive and friendly staff who make you feel very welcome. Well designed and restored interiors with a splendid central atrium with a small compact spa on the ground floor, with sauna, steam rooms, Jacuzzi and spa therapies available. |Our superior room on the 6th floor was spacious, comfortable, very clean, warm and very quiet! Unfortunately the sky bar was closed for the winter season, but we accessed the lovely spa and had a delicious meal in the gorgeous restored dining room, where you also have breakfast and any drinks, as there is a bar, my cocktail was great too. The room can be refreshed every day if you wish and our only gripe was that they closed the bar too early 11pm and residents out. |The hotel is well placed for exploring the city and public transport is absolutely amazing in the city!

I could not have had a better stay in Budapest! The spa is beautiful and relaxing, I spent about 6 hours in there on a Tuesday morning and had the place to myself the majority of the time. I ended up having two massages on separate days and the masseurs did a really great job. The rooftop bar made some really great drinks and goulash with an excellent view of the city. I was disappointed it rained two days of my stay and wasn’t able to use it more but you can’t control the weather, I’ll just have to come back in a better season next time. The bed in my room was maybe one of the best I’ve ever slept on in my life. Room was nice and quiet from any outside noise and disturbances my entire stay. The neighborhood was nice and safe, a little outside the main downtown district but most things I wanted to do were only a 15-20 minute walk. I used a laundromat once and visited a coffee shop twice in the immediate neighborhood and felt safe and like I was in a better part of town. There’s also a streetcar that runs close by that’s cheap and easy to use. Staff was all really great and because of my Expedia level I was given an upgraded room and free breakfast. My only regret was that I couldn’t stay longer! Can I live here?

Stayed at the Mystery Hotel in Budapest and absolutely loved the experience. The design and interiors really live up to the “mystery” theme — elegant, quirky, and full of character. The rooms were comfortable, staff were friendly and attentive, and the location made it easy to get around the city. Definitely a unique stay I’d recommend to anyone visiting Budapest.

We stayed at the Mystery Hotel in Budapest for our one year anniversary as a staycation and it was absolutely magnificent. The environment is beautiful and spotless. The rooms are huge, spacious, and incredibly clean. The water pressure in the shower was perfect and easy to adjust from hot to cool, which was exactly what we needed. It is surprisingly affordable for the level of luxury you get, especially around the Budapest area. I booked through Expedia and breakfast buffet plus Secret Garden Spa access was included. The spa was definitely the highlight — with a steam room, sauna, Jacuzzi, and comfortable lounge chairs, it was one of the most relaxing things we’ve done. Guests were respectful and the atmosphere was peaceful. One of the most amusing and memorable parts of the hotel is the art scattered throughout the property. It feels like stepping into a historical timepiece with a modern, quirky twist. If you’re an artsy person or someone who enjoys Hungarian humor, you’ll love the clever details — like the “Lemon Lisa” cocktail served with a Mona Lisa coaster showing her sipping the same drink, or famous paintings reimagined with iPhones, headphones, and modern touches. Every corner reveals a little nugget of creativity, from gold accents to playful art pieces that make you smile. The staff was professional, friendly, and quick to help with anything we needed. The breakfast was delicious and the perfect start before heading out to explore the city. Five stars and highly recommend for anyone looking for a relaxing, affordable luxury stay in Budapest with a dash of artistic fun.

We Stayed here for My partners 21st and it was an amazing experience. We chose the deluxe king room and it was very spacious which also included all the numerous essentials needed such as toiletries, wardrobe, safe and a mini fridge. The Spa was also very well set up and a nice way to cool down after a busy day of walking. The breakfast buffet was also very accommodating and had various great options to choose from. Finally the sky bar was excellent for drinks and food and provided brilliant views of the city. I would definitely Recommend to anyone wanting to visit Budapest to come stay here.

Beautiful hotel in a good location within walking distance of the Parliament and other sites. A rail station and transit center are less than 300 meters away. The room was exceptional; two-level with shower, vanity and closet/shelves down and the bed and sitting area up. The shower room was a particular delight. The staff were friendly and helpful. Lovely stay.

Loved our stay here. The place is quirky and interesting and the staff all super sweet and helpful. We didn’t get to use the spa facilities as we were out and about all day (at the other spas) but we wanted to! Location was perfect for getting around the city - everything walkable. Would happily recommend staying here and come back again ourselves.
