Overall, the hotel was fine, even though it didn’t quite meet my usual standards. I’m sure many guests would consider it a great place to stay. The room was comfortable with a firm bed, and the service was generally friendly. Breakfast was also quite decent, although the service here could be a bit so-so at times. Housekeeping could use improvement. The shower would benefit from a thorough deep clean, as it smelled and had red mold spots, and daily floor sweeping would help keep the sand under control. In general, the cleaning left a lot to be desired. There is also nowhere to hang towels after showering, as many other reviewers have pointed out, which was quite frustrating. The location is beautiful and definitely adds to the overall experience. Despite a few inconveniences that could easily be addressed, it was still a good stay. One thing to note is that both the pool and the balconies are mostly in the shade, which may be worth keeping in mind depending on your preferences. The bathroom door is made of glass and doesn’t close properly. The water pressure in the shower is very low, and the water isn’t always warm, although this seems to be a common issue on tropical islands.

We enjoyed our 1 week stay at Mystique Holbox. While not everything was perfect we set our expectations based off what is an island under development. Pros: excellent and comfortable rooms. I was even able to watch a few NFL games on ESPN and FOX which I appreciated. There was construction going on directly outside our room and there was little to no noise and we even slept through a staff Christmas party. We found the staff and construction crews took guests into consideration while working and were very respectful. Expect at least another 8-12 months of construction as they were only starting the foundation of the hotel next door when we arrived. I believe it may be an extension to Mystique. The beach is nice. The water can be a bit murky compared to opposite ends of the island but still very swimmable and enjoyable. The location is far removed from the noise of the Holbox town center which we appreciated. You can still walk nearly anywhere. We walked to Punta Mosquito twice from our hotel. We were the only ones who took full advantage of the pool and absolutely loved it. Friendly staff. We were quite independent and stayed mostly to ourselves but staff passed on messages from tour operators and we always happened to have a friendly conversation. We booked on a Black Friday deal and feel if the price was higher we may have had a bit of buyers remorse. We felt the price we paid was fair. Cons: The restaurant needs improving for the price especially when compared to other restaurants on the island. It’s still nice to have the convenience of a fruit bowl, breakfast or a coffee right next to the hotel but we found ourselves walking to other parts of Holbox especially since we stayed for a week.

I spent the day here using the day pass. You can access the beach club and hotel facilities and you pay for what you consume. Although a little above my budget, I had a lovely day enjoying the luxury Mystique Beach Club had to offer. The food and drinks were great and the staff were really attentive, would definitely recommend!

Bad issue with the room, door wouldn’t open so we asked them to open it for us when we got to the room from dinner and drinks around 11:30. Made us wait until 1AM. But the manager was extremely attentive and friendly. Offered us breakfast and a ride to the ferry.

This was an amazing hotel to stay at. The staff are extremely helpful and friendly. Food is 10/10 at the restaurant- delicious breakfast, yummy fish tacos and burgers, fresh flavourful salads. Cocktails were just ok. We found everything very clean and the beach has a super chill vibe without some of the seaweed seen elsewhere. Special shout out to Laura and Marianne for being so kind!

We had a not-so-great experience with this hotel, I stayed in 3 rooms in 3 days! At our arrival, we found out there was a big construction next to the hotel and the noise was TERRIBLE! They must let guests in advance to expect extremely loud days while staying here. Then the reception lady "assumed" that we were 2 women and we were friends, so she instantly changed the room we had paid for and gave us a double room which we didn't accept. We are married! So, the manager very kindly gave us another room, that had NO privacy at all, so they changed us again, and surprise the AC didn't work properly. The staff was very nice to us all the time, but it was a pain the whole experience. In summary, the location is good, beach is wonderful, pool just ok, and rooms are not what they advertised. If you are staying here between june 2025 and maybe a year from nowbe prepared to a very noisy stay!

Small hotel that has a boutique feel. The area reminds me what Isla Mujeres and Tulum were 20 years ago. I was there with my 2 kids. Their favorite part was in downtown when a group of kids asked them to join their volleyball game. They love meeting people and exchanging contact info to remain in touch. I loved their piña colada made from real ingredients. The rooms looked new, fresh, bright, and minimal. My style.

I recently had the pleasure of experiencing a massage at the Mystic Hotel Spa in Holbox, and it was truly exceptional. My therapist, Yessi, was incredibly professional and delivered a deep muscle massage that was both therapeutic and deeply relaxing. She is clearly a true expert at her craft and made a real difference in how I felt. The spa itself is clean, beautiful, and offers a serene atmosphere that enhances the entire experience. The team at Mystic Hotel is warm and welcoming, and the venue is truly unique — a perfect setting to unwind and recharge. I highly encourage anyone visiting Holbox to treat themselves to a session with Yessi. You won’t be disappointed!
