We had quite a large group booking and were seated upstairs, which was a good space for a group. Unfortunately, the overall experience was very disappointing and felt quite chaotic.
The restaurant was seriously understaffed on the night. There appeared to be only one staff member looking after upstairs. She was clearly doing her best, but it was far too much for one person to manage. As a result, multiple food orders were missed, dishes arrived very late, and several items we ordered never came at all.
Drinks we ordered also didn’t arrive.
The food quality itself was fairly low overall. Two standouts were the kimchi pancakes and tteokbokki, they were genuinely fantastic, and we ended up ordering several for the table.
Aside from that, most dishes were underwhelming. The grill tops weren’t changed during the night, and our grill also kept turning off, which made cooking frustrating and constantly interrupted the meal.
There were also no sauces provided with the BBQ, which was surprising. Having been to many Korean BBQ restaurants around Sydney, sauces are usually standard. We ended up ordering sauces separately, but they arrived so late that we had already finished eating by the time they came out.
On top of this, the restaurant itself felt quite unclean. The overall cleanliness of the space, including the dining area and grills was below what you’d expect, which really detracted from the experience.
It’s uncomfortable to complain when staff are clearly stretched thin, but the lack of adequate staffing, organisation, cleanliness, and basic maintenance significantly impacted the night. With better management and resourcing, this place could be much better, especially for large group bookings, but on this occasion, most of our group left feeling pretty disappointed.
