"Providing all-day amusement and relaxation in the form of a capacious milky—and mineral-rich— blue lagoon (about 100 degrees Fahrenheit), steam baths, and a swim-up bar serving both hard and soft drinks, this bathhouse is popular among visitors and locals alike. Located less than 300 miles from Reykjavík , Mývatn is a worthy stop and stayover on the Iceland trail, and the geothermal baths of Mývatn, a designated nature reserve, provides a deeply edifying respite from some of the country’s more active pursuits. Although you’re unlikely to be surprised by the stunning Northern Icelandic scenery at this point, the peaceful, pleasant surroundings with views for days doesn’t hurt." - Stacey Lastoe

Maybe is not as fancy as blue lagoon, but it is nice and relaxing. Recommendations: If you bring a camera o mobile don't forget to add it a protector, because water has minerals and they could wreck them. After a shower recommend you to try the steam baths, that is very relaxing.

Absolutely must do - an experience like no other - had the most amazing time - although prepare for the smell of sulphur - it was super steamy when I visited so was difficult to see more than a couple of meters in front of your face when in the bath, I would love to return in the spring/summer as I’m sure it would be a totally different experience- but not to be missed - staff were all friendly and attentive

Fantastic Nature baths! 3 main areas, with 2 being so large they vary in heat. The edges often have a little (slimy) seat built into it. Drinking is allowed and the prices were reasonable. The facilities such as show and lockers are a little cramped. But no real issue there. The cafe was also very nice.

Remember to bring your own towels. They charge extra for towels there, like most places . They were expanding the place while we were there. They have two Sauna rooms and a steam room . There is also a 40+° C small plunge, extra hot, tub which is good for a 2-3 min soak Honestly, it is so much more affordable and better experience than the blue Lagoon . It is not crowded. But I still recommend purchasing the tickets in advance. Because we were there during summer. Went for hike up the crater after the bath place. I went there on two different occasions . I would recommend the baths .

We arrived at 7 PM and there was a long line waiting at the reception. Luckily the staff made people enter quickly without waiting for long time. Everything was good. The only thing we struggled was the distance from changing room to the pool… it’s really tough in a cold weather.

Sept.24 ISK6900 pp Great spa with different infinity pools of different temperature. At some spots super warm/hot. Bottom is covered with tiny black lava grit. Separate rectangle tub of 41°C. Free cold water & bath products including conditioner. Clean, common showers & toilets, although there were 2 showers with curtains to bath more privately. At time of visit there were constructions going on and some views were blocked by walls. Great views over the bay!

The views on the way to this place are worth the trip! If you can arrive before sunset, I highly recommend watching it from there—it’s truly beautiful. The experience was pleasant, but after visiting other baths in Iceland, like Vök, this one felt less impressive by comparison.
