On a Road Trip Through the Sun Belt, One Writer Discovers the World on a Plate
"Nabeel's, owned for years by Patras-born John Krontiras (now the general manager), is a renowned Greek restaurant in Birmingham, famous for its moussaka."
The ac must not work very well because it was really hot. The chicken salad was just ok, but the chips with the seasoning was the best. The service was fast, it seems like they are closing soon or doing construction because it was a little messy and run down.

The food was amazing. The pesto was fresh. The server was efficient and attentive. However the aesthetics were aging. And a slight stale smell was in the air. A little interior refresh and the place would be as inviting as the food and staff.

Delicious. The waiters were polite and quick. The whole place had a personal, casual feel. Food was plated appealingly and tasted great. Lamb chops were seasoned perfect and the salad was fresh. Skewers were just rights. Tiramisu was my favorite part!

Fresh food, charming atmosphere! Urban eats combined with traditional recipes + 2 cooking nerds = Delightful Dining Experience for their customers. (We also noticed on-the-grill training for two up and coming teen chefs.) Kudos to a great team of servers, cleaner-uppers, and chefs.

Great small place that has a high local atmosphere. The Camel Rider is definitely worth going for with house made horseradish sauce and the fries are house made as well. The way they season the fries are like none other and perfectly balanced. Highly recommend this dish.

I ordered the spanakopita (spinach pie). There just wasn't much flavor. No feta or sauce to speak of. The spinach was okay, just lacking. The atmosphere is good, quaint and the place clean overall.

Had the lamb chops and Greek potatoes instead of the salad. I didn't know they came on a bed of rice. The service was good and I enjoyed the mint tea. The lamb was cooked perfectly and the potatoes were delicious but they both had some type of tart sauce on it that I wasn't a fan of..the food was filling and I would definitely go back and try something different.

Came here because Johnny's was closed due to labor day weekend. I ordered the Greek Style Baked Chicken and asked to sub the salad for a side of steamed vegetables. The cashier said I could and then charged me two extra dollars. When the food came out it had the most pathetic asparagus I have ever seen. I was charged $17.60 and got barely $10 worth of food. Nabeels is a joke. I'm sorry but I can not recommend.
