Nabeul Archaeological Museum

The Nabeul Museum (Arabic: متحف نابل), inaugurated in 1984[1], is a Tunisian archaeological museum located in the city of Nabeul, whose aim is to bring together some of the objects discovered during excavations that took place on various sites of Cap Bon.The collections come, for the most part, from the ancient site of Neapolis but pieces belonging to other archaeological sites of Cap Bon are also found in the museum. Pieces predating the Roman period include, in addition to Egyptian-style ceramics and amulets from Kerkouane, terracotta statues from the neo-Punic sanctuary of Thinissut. The Roman collections are illustrated by numerous mosaics found at Neapolis. In recent years, the content of the museum has been enriched by the acquisition of three mosaics from Kélibia as well as the opening of a room dedicated to the excavation of a fish-salting factory

A very small museum focussed on finds from the local area. Good value tickets (8 dinars for tourists, less if you're a local resident). Displays mostly in 3 languages, Arabic, French and English, but whilst each section is understandable, not all translations are complete. Staff all friendly and professional. Allow 1-1.5hours to visit.

A small and beautiful museum, with valuable historical artefacts on display. It can be walked around quickly, but it is worth staying a little longer and carefully enjoying the stories told by the preserved objects. Also a great respite from the heat of the city and the hustle and bustle of the bazaars and streets.

The Museum is interesting and worth a visit for Tourist the entry fee of 8 dinars per persons ist fair and the staff IS nice. Also the museum has a nice climate and is a good activity during the peak heat on the day. The toilets are .... Interesting by Western standards.
