Google
Nice hot pot style place to go eat with friends. I like that you can split the broth styles and try something different. This place charges by the plate color. Staff was very friendly and helpful.

We followed Google maps to this king street location but it's just a takeout kitchen. no restaurant

Google
They are located just before the Old Stadium Park in Moiliili. The bowls come refrigerated so when you are ready to eat, you just have to zap them in the microwave for 4 minutes on high to have a nice hot nabe bowl . The noodles, ramen or udon are tasty and the veggies still have a freshness to them.

Google
The microwavables are amazing here! It provides a great value for ~10 bucks!!

Google
This place was highly recommended by my friend and my husband and I decided to give it a try. There are many fresh items to choose from. I love their broth! Very flavorful but not greasy. Glad that have take out option during Covid. This has been one of our go to places whenever we are craving for hot pot.

Nabeya Maido is located in the Market City Shopping Center, between Gina's BBQ and Duck Lee. Nabeya is a smaller Japanese hot pot restaurant that you choose your broth and get your own items to put in side of it from the refrigerated cases. The plate prices range from $2.90 to $5.90 depending on the items on the colored plates, plate color determines the price. I liked that they offer a lot of different choices of meats, vegetables and other things to choose from. They have Happy Hours Specials till 5:30pm, 20% off and 2 for 1 Tuesdays on the broths. I'll have to try the Omakase platter ($19.95) on the top shelf in the glass case. It's loaded with an assortment of meats, seafood and vegetables, great plate for two people to start off with. Service here is friendly and attentive, our servers was great!

We stumbled upon this restaurant and decided to try it out. Our experience and the food was amazing! I am so glad that we took a chance and ate here. Our server, Bree, was exceptional as well. She was so friendly and helpful throughout the meal. We will definitely be coming here again and telling all of our friends. Thank you, Nabeya Maido and staff!!

Google
we used to come here 5+ years ago when they were a relatively new establishment. we enjoyed it then. nice to discover they’re still in business even with the pandemic. no dine in services anymore but we tried their nabe bowls. good prices and convenient. it hit the spot after not being able to dine in at shabu restaurants since the pandemic began.

Yelp
Ok, so my A1C was borderline diabetic, so I immediately made changes to my diet - low carbs/low sugar. I've been packing the protein wherever whenever I can. I started seeing a nutritionist who specializes in keto diet - I'm trying my best! I've lost 10 lbs and my A1C has come down a couple tenths! That's progress!! It's easier when you have easy keto choices like Dr. Jodi's (Keto Prescription) Keto Bowl at Nabeya Maido in Mo'ili'ili on King Street. It is fresh and tasty goodness with added pork and meatballs, bok choy, Shirataki noodles, and that broth (ohhhh, that broth!!) - yessss!!! Dr. Jodi partnered with Nabeya Maido to make this bowl just for us keto peeps! More restaurants need to do that because if they do, I will be there!! Mahalo nui loa, Nabeya Maido and Dr. Jodi - more please!! Go check out Nabeya Maido and their yummy menu for this and other ono food!

Yelp
The microwaveable bowls are very convenient and they're nicely presented with a good mix of vegetables. You have a choice of ramen or udon noodles and either spicy or shoyu sauce. Unfortunately, the service was disappointing. First, they said our order had three bowls when we had five. We had to show our confirmation email to prove we ordered and paid for five bowls. This was during a non busy period, around 2pm, and there was no line. Second, it wasn't until we went to pick it up that they said the spicy sauce was sold out. There was no notice on the website or email and no contact was made even though I provided my cell telephone number on the order. The shoyu sauce was tasty and the vegetables complemented the noodles nicely. I tried both the ramen and upon noodles. The udon was okay, no different from other places. The ramen tasted like frozen noodles and on the hard side. There are so many ramen places now that the expectation is high and it's hard to get the quality and taste of freshly prepared noodles from a microwaved one. Overall, the bowls are convenient but because of the taste of the noodles and uncertainty of service, I would rather go to one of the many other noodle shops.

Yelp
These are so goood! They have a grab and go concept. They offer fundraisers. Over all they are easy to heat up and great to eat! I enjoy their spicy udon!

Kristi L.

Yelp
So good! I used the fundraiser tickets to get the take-out bowls. The instructions on the ticket say to call ahead to reserve your bowls. I called 30 minutes before and they still had bowls available. The shop is tiny and take-out only. The bowls are easy to heat up in the microwave. This is a good alternative to other fast food places. I tried the shoyu udon and the ingredients were fresh and delicious. Will be back soon!

Kathy U.

Yelp
My single cousin who doesn't like to cook if he can help it likes this place. He's been picking up from here for several years. You buy a ready made hot pot type of bowl, take it home, microwave it and you have a hot meal. Multiple bowl choices on their website. Went to purchase gift cards for his Christmas present. Limited time special - for $50 you get six $10 gift cards. They are also at pop ups. Parking in the back so it's convenient.

Liz W.

Yelp
Really delicious soup and fresh ingredients. Shoyu is my favorite flavor broth. I always opt for the keto bowl and am never disappointed. It's just enough food to feel satiated, without feeling too full.

Kuki O.

Yelp
Our church had a fundraiser, We go try Nabeya Maido. It's quite different, picked it up from church, 8 bowls! Delivered to my cuz'ns house. Got home, tried it! read the instructions because it was our 1st time trying this "do not add water" microwave bowl meal. 5min in the micro... yes! Oishii! It's filling, it's perfect and hearty. Lots of veggies (yumm) Like the instructions say "do not add water". Enjoy

Yelp
Mini pot togo... One of the creative changes covid has created as once they used to have a hotpot restaurant in Market City Shopping Center only closing the dine in portion during the pandemic having them forced to pivot to take out only didn't really interest me whatsoever. Fast forward to the Kaiser Farmers Market held on Tuesday nights marketing their "Micorwaveable Bowls" which is a fascinating idea you don't see around very much is brilliant. The soup portion is in a jelly consistency piling on the toppings bringing the vision of a mini hot pot and now to have their current brick and mortar location right on South King Street next to the Old Stadium Park you can pick up any of their items at your convenience. On this visit they had a special of "Tomato" ramen or udon and decided to give it a try along with the Maido House Shoyu udon for mom as she wasn't feeling well I though this bowl of hot soup with the load of veggies would be the perfect remedy. You're given a card to give you the ideal timeline to keep your bowl in the fridge which is two days max recommended and to crack open the lid a bit for ventilation and heat on high for about four minutes...we did that but since everything has been cooled down we did a couple more minutes after giving it a break from the first heat to get it that nice super hot throughout the dish. Very yummy and fresh it really is a great way to take home the comfort to enjoy at your leisure. Thank you!

Raeann Y.

Yelp
My aunty and uncle purchased these bowls for our family through a fundraiser. We were excited because I think we saw them on the news or some type of local food show so we always wanted to try it out. The bowls are simple, just microwave and enjoy! Lots of food, definitely enough to make you full. My only issue is that the broth isn't as flavorful as I would've liked. We did add some of our own chili garlic oil which made it better. I seen some reviews mention sauces so maybe it needs that added to the side but it doesn't seem like it comes with the bowls, separate charge I would assume.

Edie S.

Yelp
Love this place we found because we got sick and some kind friends gave these to us. They were SO good and perfect for Japanese comfort food. We got the shoyu broth and it came with a ton of vegetables and meat and meatballs over a big serving of noodles. We heated ours 4 minutes in the microwave and they were piping hot and delicious. Called ahead to reserve to make sure they'd have it the next time I got these since I brought them for my parents but added on bowls for us since they were so good. Free parking behind the building, friendly service inside!

Tomo K.

Yelp
Someone gave me fundraiser tickets for takeout nabe. They were sooo good! It's a healthy choice for takeout. I had the udon.

Jerrene T.

Yelp
I was introduced to this place from one of my son's many soccer fundraisers. One of the soccer moms suggested we do this place for our next fundraiser and of course, I was down. I like noodles and soup! The first time we just stopped by and picked up whatever they had left, I believe it was a shoyu udon and two spicy udons. We all preferred the spicy udon over the shoyu; it had more flavor and it wasn't too spicy. The next time we called ahead so we could all get the spicy udon. It is very easy to prepare - four minutes in the microwave with the lid cracked open. Do not add water. Also, that same soccer mom said you can freeze the udon and it still tastes good (just take out the tofu; that gets weird in the freezer). Make sure to follow them on Instagram because he sometimes travels to other open markets/fairs so he may close early for the day. Don't want to get your hopes up on eating nabe and get it dashed because they're closed early. They're great for fundraisers; everyone loves them!

Grant O.

Yelp
Overall 5 Stars: Great place to get a fast healthy meal that satisfies the soul! As a bonus, they make fresh dog treats that my dog loves! Food 5 Stars: I ordered the Shoyu Ramen and Udon, Tofu Ramen, Spicy Ramen, and the special Brisket Ramen. I tried the Brisket Ramen first. The Beef brisket was thinly sliced and melted in my mouth on the first bite. The brisket was paired with fresh ramen noodles and a light but tasty broth. There were all kinds of fresh veggies and meatballs in the bowl. I can't wait to try the other bowls but just 1 bowl is very filling. As for the dog treats, 5 stars. Tiko loves them! Service 5 stars: It was super fast and easy to order online. I just googled Nabeta Maido and went to the website. I placed an order at 6am and it was ready when they opened at 11am. I ordered 9 bowls! Ready for a fresh hot meal made at home in 4 minutes using only your microwave, go to Nabeya Maido!

Suzie F.

Yelp
This is the new location 2239 S King Street, just before the old stadium park. No dine in, take out only, recommend placing order before picking up. Parking in the back of the building, a couple metered parking in front if available. Ordered ramen bowl and udon bowl with shoyu dashi. Dashi is good and even portions of vegetables and meat. Satisfied...not stuffed and not hungry...just rite ah.

Jennifer C.

Yelp
Such healthy delicious fast meals all prepared beautifully! I'm a new fan! Love the spicy and Shoyu. The keto is awesome and so is the sukiyaki. So easy to make and a family pleaser.

Leslene C.

Yelp
Our new go to grab and go dinner place. The nabe's are amazing juat heat up in microwave and in minutes dinner is ready. The nabe ingredients are always so fresh, broth is perfect amount for the one serving. Highly suggest this place, did we mention the price is amazing for a one person meal. Way better deal than those high priced plate lunches that have scaled down their portions.

Deez J.

Yelp
Family member gave us a few Nabe bowls. One was even a Keto recipe. First time for me having this hot pot. All I had to do was stick it in the microwave. No water needed. Very flavorful broth!! Nice variety of veggies with what tasted and looked like udon noodles. Mine had what appeared like small meatballs or dumplings. The veggies stay crunchy after microwaved for almost 4 minutes. The thinly sliced pumpkin was still kind of hard for my liking. I made a side sauce for dipping. This hot pot bowl is quite filling. I still have some left - that's not going to waste. All in all, it hit the spot. I'd definitely eat it again.

Colleen P.

Yelp
Great for takeout only! Easy to park in the back lot of Peace Cafe. Friendly staff who explained. Specialty bowls are a treat. We also go to Mililani Friday nights for meals on the weekend

Shayna R.

Yelp
Hot pot is one of the things I miss most of pre-Covid times. Ok I probably say that about everything, but it really makes me sad to think about all the places that I loved hot potting at that aren't around or that I won't go to cause I just don't eat indoors yet. But I'm so happy that nabeyo maido has lasted and so brilliantly pivoted. Ive been so curious but haven't made it down to the restaurant during the pandemic, yet finally tried a microwavable bowl through a fundraiser, paying $12/bowl and $4 per bowl being donated to a small elementary school. What an amazing and generous idea! The restaurant's Instagram also shows the owner generously donating bowls to teachers in the community. Definitely a great small business that deserves our community support too!! I was super excited to try my bowls. They are stuffed with goodies, a choice of udon or ramen, topped with pork belly, peppery and moist chicken meatballs, won bok, kabocha, fresh mushrooms, garlic slices, and a super flavorful house broth. Everyone I shared them with raved about them. Super convenient, you microwave the bowl it comes in for 4 minutes and then it's ready to eat. I like my noodles a little under cooked so took them out after about three minutes and prefer my veggies well cooked so cooked them about another minute. I did add a dash of ponzu sauce though the light broth was tasty. I would definitely get this again and can't wait to try their other soup broths!

Jeffrey T.

Yelp
This review is based off of their take out nabe. Work catered lunch from here and we were all excited to enjoy our nabe during our lunch breaks. Instructions were to heat in the microwave for 4-5 minutes and you have your own nabe lunch. Individual servings are perfect for the Covid era we currently deal with. It was the perfect meal in a bowl. There were three types of meats, a variety of veggies with udon noodles in a shoyu broth that I didn't waste a single drop. Felt full and ready for a nap right after. Restaurants that make you want to come back for more are the ones that win future business. I for sure want to go discover what else I can treat my tastebuds and tummy to. Well done Nabeya Maido!

Eric M.

Yelp
Picked up a couple of Cold Ramen Bowls w/ Shoyu Vinegar sauce @nabeyamaido at the Marketplace In Kapahulu. We used to get their Microwavable hotpot bowls (which are still great); but loving their cold ones now even more. They also have these bowls w/a sesame based sauce that I haven't tried yet & you can get them w/udon noodles instead of ramen. Lotsa parking in the mini shopping center that has an old Foodland store; & Cafe Kaila.

Akemi O.

Yelp
Those micro bowls are GENIUS. So convenient. If could freeze and the veggie still be that nice would be even better...but was told 2-3 days in the fridge so that's good too. We bought a bunch of fundraising tickets so picked up some bowls and gave couple to ma and some friends, and fed ourselves. Make sure you check the dates cuz you only have 2 months to pick it up....I need to watch b/c I still have a bunch more. I was down the street so decided I should stop and pick up. Also used a gift card I had...was given a hard time since it was a while since I bought it and I although a little turned off by that entire conversation/scolding, it was honored and that's all that really mattered. Only had 2 options for the bowls and 1 option for the nabe sets. Maybe need to call in ahead? I'll try call next time. Don't forget to get our own sauces...or maybe can ask them for some? I didn't think about it until I got home but if anyone needs, we got choke sauces at home! Veggies super fresh. Nice tsukune stuff and pork belly. I wish they had extra meats to add but just add my own. Broth was good and not too overpowering. My belly was happy.

Liane U.

Yelp
1/14/23 Nabeya Maido at Market City currently closed up with sign showing relocation to 2239 S King Street. Kamitoku Ramen to take over their location.

Kristine V.

Yelp
Love their shabu bowls. Very convenient and delicious. Many different broths and I've enjoyed them all...Shoyu, spicy, tofu, curry, and brisket (my husband's personal favorite but it is limited).

D A.

Yelp
This is THE place for a hot and hearty take out hot pot at a reasonable price. Lately, when it's cold outside, there's nothing better than a shoyu original nabe. I often pair it with some ponzu sauce. Fast and friendly service. Give these guys a try if you haven't.

Kazuyo S.

Yelp
The quality of food was superb and the owner, Kevin was super friendly. We will be back soon!

Logan S.

Yelp
Nabe on the go! Super simple to make (just 4 min in the micro) and you have a delicious, healthy meal. The various broths are authentic and rich, and toppings are fresh and generous. The owner, Kevin, is a really cool guy and easy to talk to. If you're just not feeling like cooking tonight, head down to Nabeya Maido and pick up some bowls for the family.

Dean H.

Yelp
The broth here is bomb. The end. Anyways, my wife and I love this place. From the delicious broths, cold beer and good selection of sakes we are always happy and satisfied. The choices of fresh veggies, seafood and meats are always filled and the staff is always ready to help you out with whatever you may need. There is a good variety to choose from too. There is some strange parking in the front with stalls that are either to small or strangely angled but there is more than enough. The bathroom is a shared bathroom that is outside of the restaurant which isn't preferred by me but it's aok. Check them out if you are in the area!

Emily W.

Yelp
Rating is based on the cold ramen bowl. I have tried their microwaveable nabe bowl before which was good. Thought I would try the cold ramen. The sesame miso sauce doesnt taste like it sounds. Don't taste sesame or miso. I just see sesame seeds. Thought it would have a sesame taste like sesame oil, but no. The bottled Kewpie Roasted Sesame dressing taste better. Not sure what kind of miso was used. Noodles and toppings are fine. The cashier can work on his customer service.

A D.

Yelp
Very convenient and delicious take out bowls only. No dine in. We picked up four bowls ! Thank you Kevin @ Nabeya Maido Market City. Be back again! My sister would love to eat this every day!

Lorraine Y.

Yelp
Great take out Nabe. If you're into healthy food on the go. This is definitely the place to go. If you want prime pick tho... go early. They run out of options toward the end of the day.

Linda M.

Yelp
Ordered a family nabe. Pork, tsukune, lots of asst veggies and akakara (slightly spicy) sauce...YUM! Pot of rice and a pkg of arabiki sausages was perfect for a family of 5 adults. Saved me the trouble of buying all those different veggies, then having to slice them and deal with the leftovers...also a plus that I didn't have to spend the day cooking the family dinner. Highly recommend for a fun, tasty meal...

Sydni K.

Yelp
My friends and I were in Market City, and we needed a quick lunch. We decided to go to Maido, and it was such a great choice! They don't have dine in, but they do have ready to eat bowls where you can choose the broth and type of bowl. I opted for the veggie udon bowl with miso broth. We had to wait about 15 minutes for them to prep our bowls in the back. We headed over to Kapiolani Park for a nice picnic to enjoy our bowls. My veggie bowl was delicious, and I loved how there were so many different toppings. I loved how flavorful the bowls were and how convenient it was. These bowls are a great alternative to dine in hot pot! Please support local businesses!

Jackie O.

Yelp
I'm so glad I finally found where Nabeya Maido relocated! I absolutely love their bowls with all the fresh vegetables and tasty broth. I always used to buy extras to share with my family and neighbors. The people who worked at the Market City Restaurant were always so helpful and cheerful and it was pleasant to go there. Today I ordered online early in the morning and got a confirmation soon after. The instructions said I could have car pick-up when I arrived so I was happy with that added service. The order was ready when I arrived and the lady who answered said she would bring my order right out. I had trouble reaching over to open the passenger door and when I finally did, the worker put the bags on the seat without saying a word. She just looked put off. I knew I didn't have 11bowls and told her I had two orders, ten plus one. She checked the bag and said there must be another one in the store so went back. She returned with another bag of five bowls. I then asked her which ones were in the bag and she said in a rough tone, "they're all labeled " and immediately left. She's correct: they are all labeled but by then I was put off by her attitude. She showed no gratitude and not once said thank you or smiled. I think businesses should make sure their employees are pleasant and thank their customers. We have many choices of restaurants to visit and will return to those where we are treated well and are appreciated.

Yelp
We came here purely by accident. It was Thanksgiving week and life got busy with all the school stuff and making sure that all the recipes and ingredients were all ready for thanksgiving. So I was shopping at Marketcity Foodland for more ingredients for my green bean casserole and my turkey M and M favors and it was getting late so I decided to walk around the complex. I just wanted to see what kind of food options there were because it was already 4:45 and I was too lazy to make dinner. Anyways while waking by I saw this great deal at Nabeya Maido. It's $9.90 for a take out nabe. There were four types: Maido, Paitan, Akamiso, and Akakara. Maido is the shoyu flavored bowl, Paitan is the tonkotsu flavored broth, Akamiso is red miso, and Akakara is the spicy one. $9.90 gets you the broth and udon, pork belly, chicken balls, Mochi, and assorted vegetables. We got two Paitans and one Akakara. The paitans were okay. I've had better paitan broths at other places. I didn't get to try the Akakara because I'm not much of a spicy kind of person. But I liked that they all came included with the veggies and the udon all in one. I also got free edamame with yelp check in. Just to note that the free edamame isn't for take out. But since she told me I could get it, they let me just have it. That was nice of her. I also asked if I could have the broth separated from the udons. They said they could do it but they would charge me extra. It was like 15 cents or something like that. I just paid it. I didn't want my noodles to get all soggy by the time I got home. But while driving I noticed that I was short one container of broth. I kept recounting while driving and I was short. I was thinking of calling them and heading back but it was so late already. So I just dealt with it. Then I thought hmm maybe they just put two broths in one container. So I looked at the one with little broth in it to see how much one person would get. Then I just figured that since one persons broth is half of the container then two people's broth must be in the other container. I guess they forgot to tell me that. Overall though, food was okay. I wouldn't mind just going in and trying there in person. I'd like to go into their food cave and select what I want in my soup.

Barbara H.

Yelp
Kevin and the staff here are awesome! Super friendly and always makes you feel welcomed. Their store is located in market city. He is also at the Kaiser Farmer's market on Tuesdays. I must say their nabe microwavabowl are so delicious and healthy! I like the fact that there are different options for soup bases and a choice of ramen, udon, or fresh tofu! I also like the fact that I can eat it hot when I'm ready to. The broths are so flavorful that you will drink it to the last drop. Also each bowl is packed with yummy goodness of fresh veggies too! My favorite is the curry udon! It's smack licking good! The bowls are also esthetically pleasing to the eyes. So colorful with the cute Sakura carrot cut out. Best of all the bowls are reasonably priced. They also have a new item which helps to beat the heat. Their cold noodle bowl. So many goodies in there. Also a choice of two types of dressing. Oh so good that you have to try it. Also very filling just like their nabe bowls. If you want to do fundraisers or just order for the office, you can work with him. I've done ordering for my workplace and it always comes in a timely manner and no errors in the orders! Perfect!

Yelp
Don't forget your Yelp Check-in, you can choose from Free Edamame or Kimchee. Service here is friendly and attentive, our servers was great!

Yelp
Stumbled upon this place when we were trying to figure out what we wanted to eat. We saw the 20 percent off happy hour price and we were in! Place was empty but we came in around 330 on a Saturday. This place is so unique! I love the decor in here and even the Japanese kanji's have a cute font to it! We were greeted right away who asked us if it was our first time and showed us the different broths for our pot and how to grab our veggies and meat. Hubby and I love spicy and we went with the Amakara broth. Not too spicy, it's a mellow spicy. This wasn't my first nabe experience and I thought it was so cool to go to the "food cave" to grab your veggies, meat and gyoza. Other places you order with the server so that was cool and efficient for the owner. The plates are all color categorized and it shows you the prices on the refrigerator. Our broth was amazing and cooking like this with your loved ones feels so nostalgic. I noticed the benches in here looked customized since the benches were fitting so perfectly in crevices. Awesome job by the owner. They also give you bunch of sauces that you could pour into your broth or dip into with your meat. We ordered rice although we had udon in our pot and put the sauce on the meat and ate it with the rice. Divine, I tell you! Especially the Goma tare sauce! Our total bill came out to $50 for me and the hubby. We also had one Kirin ichiban each in the classic Japanese drinking mugs. We were so full at the end. Definitely a must try spot! Support the local businesses!

Yelp
Whenever it gets chilly and I have no plans to cook, I order nabe bowls from Nabeya Maido. I just pop them in the oven, one at a time, and out comes a complete meal. Once in a while, one or two of the family will add a bowl of rice but usually the nabe bowl has everything. I'm glad I have a go to place whenever I get lazy and don't want to cook. Besides, the bowls are healthy and the price is reasonable. And it's not fast food. Thank you Nabeya Maido.

Dee O.

Yelp
I was treated to this delicious meal in a bowl by my generous employer & his wife! I had the flavorful shoyu broth with udon noodles which had a nice chew. It was topped with a generous array of vegetables from kabocha, mushrooms, broccoli, tofu...it was absolutely delish! I love to cook so I know how much work goes into prepping all these veggies! Thank you! Yummy and healthy was so easy!

Jim W.

Yelp
No complaints. Pick a broth, grab your ingredients from the "cave", boil as you like, dip in 4 special sauces if you like and repeat. There are sakes and beers to enjoy. Simple desserts. Great service. Lots of parking. You are eagerly offered to take the left over broth home. I like that.

Wayne K.

Yelp
Pick up three bowls for a fund raiser and was surprised at how good it was. The bowls come refrigerated with your choice of broth. Shoyu or spicy and a choice of ramen or udon. When you're ready to eat, just zap them in the microwave for 4 minutes on high and you'll have a nice hot nabe bowl. The noodles were very good and the veggies still had a freshness to them. I will definitely be back to purchase more. They are now located just before the the Old Stadium Park in Moiliili.

Yelp
They are celebrating their 5 year anniversary and it seems their formula has been preserved. The owner is still present with his trademark hat! The food cave has the reliable ingredients plastic wrapped for easy pluckings. The 4 dipping sauces are tasty, I like the creamy one the best. Of course there are many base soup selections to choose from to cook your ingredients in. There is a sign-in sheet when it gets busy. They offer to pack up leftover broth to take home. They serve beer and a wider selection of sake. Their Yelp check-in offer is kim chee or soybeans. Clean, wooden interior with Jawaiian-reggae influence music piped in.

Yelp
Decently cheap for a hotpot place and their salmon steak is fantastic but honestly the appetizers are abominable. We ordered the Maido Tofu, the Edamame (free with Yelp check in), and Pickled Cucumbers for under $10 and they were overly salted and plain hard to stomach. The hot pot system is a fun a la carte system with a food cave where you retrieve wrapped plates from the refrigerator and bring it back to your table. Honestly, the meats were all sub par, the veggies were good, and the salmon was delicious. The soup base (milk-based broth) was about the same as the regular boiled water to my taste buds. Tldr; definitely eaten better hot pots but it was relatively cheap so I've eaten and moved on. Would not recommend.

Yelp
I have bittersweet memories of coming here the day I got a bunch of college rejection letter in high school, and being impressed enough with the ambiance and food that I was at least somewhat cheered up. I've also had a few of their $10 bowls, which come out hot (but without rice! What a scandal!) with perfectly cooked veggies, noodles, and tender cuts of meat. The maido and akakara are my favorites but the broths are all comforting and delicious. I tried their new microwavable bowl for the first time with the maido broth and ramen noodles. It didn't come with directions, but their social media (I think?) said to microwave for five minutes. Unfortunately the ramen came out a bit mushy and the vegetables were at different levels of being done. The enoki was fine but the kabocha was hard and tasted raw. Maybe this particular bowl was just a bit off. I also tried the cold noodles, which came with lots of toppings and a slightly spicy sesame sauce. This was super delicious and perfect for summer. Especially given how hot it's been, I'd probably opt for that if I were getting take out.

Yelp
3 stars for a easy and yummy microwave bowl. Quick comfort food. First tried the bowls from a parent who dropped off bowls to our school during the pandemic and quickly became addicted. The current menu is limited. I think just 3 types of bowls. Definitely prefer the udon instead of the ramen. New location is not as convenient and parking is very limited. No dine in, just bowls to go. Pretty small hole in the wall type of set up. No ambiance, just functional. Service was efficient. -2 stars, bowls are now $12. Tasty but not sure it's worth $12 for a microwave meal.

Yelp
This place is just awesome. Always has been. The broths are awesome, especially the basic house broth. It's got so much flavor, it can stand on its own. The sauces are awesome. Service is always awesome. The selections to put in your soup are varied and always fresh. Now that it's takeout only, global pandemic and all, the Maido Bowls are such a great option. They are chock filled with meats, veggies and noodles and that delicious soup. And they're only $10 each! Get the cooked ones because they are able to pack more food in there than in the raw bowls. I hope this place stays around forever!

Yelp
One word...YUM!! I got their newest "Turf" MicrowavaBOWL, and it was amazing...perfect for these chilly days! Super convenient, just pop in the microwave for 4 min and lunch is served! No chopping, boiling or slaving away in the kitchen...Nabeya Maido will do all the work for you! Kevin is super friendly and helpful...I texted pretty late to setup a pickup order for the next day, and he was super accommodating and was able to setup my pickup order for the next day! I WILL DEFINITELY BE BACK!! THANK YOU KEVIN!! PS: They so have DOGGIE TREATS! My pups loved them!

Yelp
hot N' cold Nabeya Maido was the final stop for my friends and I after a somewhat exhaustive search for a dinner place on a recent Saturday night. Thankfully, the food gods must have taken pity on our plight of hunger, as there was an empty parking space directly fronting the restaurant. LOCATION/PARKING: Market City Shopping Center. Ample parking (albeit in smaller than normal spaces) available. SETTING/SPACE: The restaurant has a very welcoming, well-lit and cozy feel. Its not overly small though not overly spacious either. Booths/tables seating 4 look to comprise the whole of the space. There is a small sign-in clipboard on the little table to the right of the door as soon as you enter. HOT: The are various types of broths to choose from on their menu. I decided on the maido (shoyu based with garlic and chili pepper), while my friends chose to share the miso. Unlike other hot pot restaurants, the gas burner was electric which I thought was a bit more user friendly (it seems like such an arduous task to change the butane). Clearly marked buttons noted the functions to increase/decrease heat or shut off the unit completely. COLD: The A/C is quite COLD initially. I warmed up, so to speak, as soon as the hot pot of broth was placed before us. In a noticeable contrast, there weren't pre-set meals/combos on the menu. Instead, customers can choose their own ingredients within the restaurant's "food cave"; really its just an area off the main floor that has two refrigerators containing plates of vegetables, mushrooms, meats, etc. The pricing is dependent on the color of the plate: GREEN: $2.90 YELLOW: $3.90 RED: $4.90 BLUE: $5.90 Aside from the many plates we removed from the fridge, a large order of rice and some beer completed our meal. To be brutally honest, I actually liked the option of choosing my own ingredients. Not only do you have a choice, but you can grab as many plates as you desire. I really appreciated this aspect of giving the customer choices and options when it came to adding ingredients to the broth; this systems works well I imagine if one is famished, not so hungry, or getting full. SERVICE: Very satisfactory. The staff was friendly, patient, and polite. They explained the ordering system via the colored plates, as well as answering questions about the various broths. They checked on us periodically throughout our meal. BOTTOM LINE: Although this was just my first visit, I feel Nabeya Maido has definitely made an impression on me with their courteous service and optioned hot pot meals. Providing customers a choice in the type of ingredients, as well as the volume of food is a great aspect of this business. I will return!
