Cozy & Convenient Homestay in the City Nestled in a quiet courtyard-style block, this homestay offers a peaceful stay while being conveniently located in the city. It’s just a short walk from a fresh produce market known for its delicious pancakes. The owner is friendly and welcoming, and secure motorcycle parking is available. Room 5 is a great choice, and breakfast is a nice way to start the day. One note for travelers—it can be a bit tricky to find, so a pin drop at the main road entrance would be helpful. Overall, a comfortable and well-located stay!

Mery and her husband are the best hosts you could imagine. We did the sunrise volcano tour and even though it was cloudy & foggy we really enjoyed it. The rooms are clean, spacious and Mery gives really great tips on restaurants (try the BPK). She helped us schedule and arranged all transport for us. Thank you again!

Nachelle homestay was wonderful! Mary is so friendly and provided me with lots of knowledge as it was my time in Indonesia. The room was clean and has amazing views! Mary’s husband Abdy was a great guide to experience hiking up Mt Sibayak plus Mary’s brother Edy showed me around Berastagi and was such a legend 👌🏻

Definitely never return. I will give half star if possible. I book 2 rooms in booking.com with cost IDR 475k. It is non refundable. The host said that last check-in will be at 9pm. It happened that my journey from Laguboti to Brastagi was a bit late. I was still near Saribudolok at 8.30 pm, and driver was wrong taken the direction to Pematang Siantar instead to Brastagi. The estimation of arrival will be 11 pm. The host was so rude saying that his staff won't wait till 10 pm. He said that his place is a homestay not hotel. I told him that I will pay extra charge for being late. He said that he won't wait. It happened that I found another homestay with cost 200k and still accept us to stay in their place. We arrived to their place at 11.15 pm. So what that this Nachelle's host meant by HOMESTAY CANNOT RECEIVE PEOPLE BEYOND 9 PM ? What happened with you people? Where is your hospitality ? Is it not common for tourists to not able precisely estimate time of our arrival? We didn't even arrive at midnight. You already took my money and you don't want receive me in your place!!! It's OK if you don't want to receive me and my family but if you understand ethics at least you return my money 75-80% from total amount that I paid. It's not a big amount of money, you can take and eat my money but that won't be a blessing to your place!!!

If you want to see Berastagi and the surrounding volcanos 100% recommend. The work they put into making your stay comfortable is absolutely incredible. Abdy is a fun guy and a very good guide who can converse about just about any topic. Mery makes delicious pizza and is super friendly too. Both speak english well enough to answer any question you might have. It is a home stay so do not expect a hotel bar, mini bar, free bath robes or anything like that. However, the common areas do look like a hotel. The rooms are quite big and clean, there is free wifi, lounging areas, free mineral water and even a laundry service run by Mery. Berastagi is a bit bussy for our taste but on the up-side there is a mini market just next door and you can spend all day touring the surroundings if you like.

Great location to stay in Berastagi. Mery is a great host that is always ready to help with transport, offers activities, and can explain a lot about the area, local transport and the Sibayak Volcano. Rooms are very clean and spacious. Pizzas were great as well. Highly recommended stay!
