Yelp
We tried going to this restaurant only to find it is closed permanently. Just putting this out there so no one else has to go through the same disappointment!

Yelp
Nadeshiko Sushi is unique in that it is the first and only restaurant in Japan where the sushi chefs are all female. The restaurant is conveniently located near Akihabara Station and is a small space with a limited number of counter seats. However, it creates a very intimate environment where you can watch the friendly chefs making your food right in front of you while chatting with you. It is a combination of good food and service that you do not find at other sushi restaurants. My sister and I visited here for dinner. It was nearly empty when we arrived, but the restaurant quickly filled up after that to the point where people were turned away. Reservations are not required but can be made by calling the restaurant or online through their website. I highly recommend making a reservation since the restaurant can easily reach full capacity. The menu is in both Japanese and English to cater to the locals and tourists. The food menu consists of a la carte items and sets, and the drink menu has a list of sake specially curated by the staff. My sister and I both ordered the tokujou sushi set, the extra special sushi course. It came with steamed egg custard, sushi (assorted pieces of nigiri, a cut roll, and a piece of eel), soup, and mochi ice cream. The egg custard and soup were both light and pleasant. The fish was fresh though the nigiri had a bit too much wasabi for my preference, and the eel was flavorful. The mochi ice cream was a good dessert. Overall, the food was delicious. During our visit, there was only one chef due to the other chef being away on vacation. Because of that, the service was extremely slow. However, we spent that time relaxing, sipping tea, and watching the sole chef at work. Despite the compromised service due to the staffing level, we had a good time. Definitely visit Nadeshiko Sushi if you want a unique dining experience and to support women empowerment.

Yelp
In bustling Akihabara Tokyo, Nadeshiko is the only sushi restaurant in Japan where all the chefs are women! We were craving sushi, and my intuition led me to this treasure. Uteri unite! There are about a dozen seats around the one sushi bar, so there's no bad seat in the house to see these talented women at work. We went all in and each got the 6,000 yen large omakase meal. We were plied with freshly-made seasonal sashimi, tempura, nigiri, torched eel, soup, chawanmushi (steamed egg custard), and soup. We also ordered some sake, o course. The presentation and plating was stunning, and it was all well worth the price (which was very reasonable compared to US prices). My only constructive criticism is the seasoning wasn't evenly distributed in some of our nigiri's sushi rice, and the tempura wasn't that crispy... but hey, you don't come here for the tempura. If you're in Tokyo, make a point to visit these ladies!

Yelp
Nadeshiko Sushi is the first sushi restaurant to be owned and staffed exclusively by women. This has generated plenty of controversy in the sushi chef world, with many believing that women are not suitable to be sushi chefs because their menstrual cycle messes up their tastebuds, and should be relegated to just making the rice, or be eye-candy. I wanted to try this place for myself and see whether this place truly deserved the criticism it has been receiving. (Disclaimer: I'm not an expert on sushi, but I can certainly tell from what is fresh and what is crap. You want crap sushi? Try that floating boat sushi restaurant in Chinatown in San Francisco) I ordered the deluxe sashimi boat (¥2000, about $20), and to be frank, it was pretty damn delicious. Every cut of fish, from the tuna to ahi to scallops and others, tasted really fresh! The amount of wasabi, placed on a carefully cut cucumber, was just enough to completely consume with the cuts of tuna, scallops, yellowtail, and other fishes. I really enjoyed everything about this sashimi boat, including the presentation, which is something I don't usually judge food by. You can absolutely tell that the chef committed complete care and attention into everything about this dish, and I truly appreciated it. In conclusion, women can be equally as adept at making sushi as men. The sexist criticism is completely unwarranted, and I truly hope Nadeshiko Sushi will persevere through the flack and emerge as an equal, if not better, to the other renowned sushi establishments. To the staff, even if they don't see this for a while or ever: Keep up the good work! Ignore the haters and keep going! You all can definitely compete along with the other sushi restaurants, and don't let anyone else tell you otherwise! Ganbatte~!!

Yelp
Some of the best sushi I had in Japan! Found this place while walking around Akihabara. Definitely worth checking out. They give you plenty of high quality sushi at a decent price. We also had some "Glorious Mt Fuji" sweet saki that went well with our meal. The staff here was so nice and attentive. I recommend this place for anyone coming to check out Japan.

Yelp
If I could have ranked it with 6 stars - I would. Super nice owners, led by 2 women chefs (very rare), excellent fresh sushi, relaxed and welcoming vibe with the soundtrack of non stop hilerious lughter and chat of the chefs, with each of their customers. Small bar, mostly local customers. Perfect experience! If you're into great sushi, fun time and also women empowerment, don't miss it.

Yelp
Awesome. We went late afternoon and was able to talk to the owner as it was not busy. They have some space to store luggage and a little table foe a child with games.

Yelp
Love it! Fresh fish amazing ladies. This is a must try place. It is the first female owned sushi restaurant and the ladies are very lovely. Aoi was super nice and friendly.

Yelp
If you're looking for a fancy shmantzy fusion sushi place this isn't it. But if you're looking for a casual dining experience with friendly staff who speak English then you should give this place a try. Short walk from Akihabara station. The front of the restaurant is kinda hard to make out - it is located on the second floor (2F). I had just arrived in Tokyo and opted for the 6000 Yen meal that includes sashimi, sushi, tempura and some other things I was not familiar with. There were plenty of other less expensive choices. Cold beer and tasty sake, ideal for the business traveler. Clientele was varied and fun - in the two hours I was there, the restaurant also hosted Japanese, Turks and Danes.

Yelp
We arrived here for lunch & there was only one other customer. After we ordered, a party of 6 came through and the owners (2) mentioned it was crowded for them. I guess that's why they initially forgot our order. We ordered the Special Lady set, but didn't get all the sushi in the set. We also had to ask about the individual rolls we ordered because they forgot about those too. It was awkward waiting around and not knowing if they were preparing it or if they forgot. Even though we had to wait long, the food was delicious. The seafood salad had big chunks of shrimp and fish, and the sushi was perfect. Also, if you follow them on Instagram, they will give you a piece of sushi for free. The ladies were very nice and made conversation. We weren't in a rush, so we weren't too upset at the long wait, though we would have left 30 min sooner if we could. We got a bowl of miso soup for free to make up for our long wait.

Yelp
I love this adorable restaurant! The staff is very friendly and kawaii. Their menu is available in English and they help you choose which set you want to devour. Each piece of sushi melts in your mouth and the fresh taste lingers even after you finish eating it all. Check out this place whenever you have a chance. You won't regret it!

Yelp
We found this sushi bar on Yelp and we are glad we did! The ladies did a great job at catering to our wants, especially when I'm vegetarian and don't eat fish. It is a cute little place and definitely worth the visit!

Yelp
Sadly very disappointing & Extremely over priced. 1 singular piece of sushi is 400 yen. We got one hand roll. 1 singular tuna sushi. 1 singular salmon sushi and 2 other hand cut rolls. Total was 52 yen. The reviews were definitely a little deceiving... wouldn't recommend this place at all, especially when there are so many other better quality places. #disappointed.

Yelp
Excellent sushi! The owner is welcoming and kind. The sushi is prepared in front of you, and elegantly served. Each different sushi has a unique taste. The owner is also a spokesperson for female rights/ equal opportunities in Japan.

Yelp
Amazing food, friendly service. First female sushi chef! Hard to find the entrance, look at the picture attached on the yelp posting.

Yelp
If you are in Tokyo and are at all physically able to get to Nadeshiko Sushi, you should go there. The sushi is excellent and beautiful, the attention to detail is fantastic and the environment is welcoming and fun. The crowd (when I was there) was a mix of locals and tourists and the staff were delightful with both groups. Folks chatted across groups and the overall experience was top ten for me ever. We liked it enough to eat there for three meals in a row! Vegetarians -- you will find great options here as well. Not as an after-thought, but as a first class part of the menu.

Yelp
Friendly lady, but she shorted us a roll, and overcharged us. Also she put my roll on my husband's plate... I never got a plate, lol. I might have said something, but it was near closing time and we were both tired. The sushi itself was just okay, nothing special, not bad, but not, but not good. We liked the casual atmosphere inside, but it was a bit messy. Also, this place was hard to find and in an area surrounded by shady ladies, presumably prostitutes. So, yeah, I wouldn't recommend it, but most of the issues could be remedied with some effort.

Yelp
Sushi was pretty good, Service was bad. Wine terrible. Overpriced all around. Wanted to love the place because of the owner's story but in all fairness, couldn't.
