Finding a Slower Pace and Delicate Cuisine in Jeollanam-do, South Korea

"Perhaps the most memorable corner of Jeollanam-do is Chunjinam, the tranquil hermitage where Jeong Kwan resides."

Is a must visit place. Make me fall in love with this place. Highly recommended. I'm travelling from Jeonju and it takes 3 hours by public transport. Is not difficult to navigate around just need to ask if we not sure the way. Many nice people around willing to help.

First time experiencing Autumn 🍁 and to me is already quite pretty. Heard from the tour guide that this year (2023) is not as beautiful due to very hot autumn and the cold snap switch to winter (climate change!) So the leafs just die from green leaves to dead leaves instead of turning orange/red. Sad year to come for the autumn leaves.

Best place to witness autumn 🍂 and fall colours in Korea (~4 hours of journey from Seoul), A great hiking experience as well. Could easily spend one full day here. Enjoyed our time here and love to visit again!

Beautiful place to visit especially during the autumn season. Make sure you wear a good hike boots as the hiking roads are quite rocky and steeps. We did the 2 peaks and it took us 5h especially going down is more difficult than going up (you need to deal with the stairs). Bring water, food and snacks with you for energy recharge and pinic lunch

Amazing place!! At least in autumn it looks too beautiful with the trees in red, orange and yellow. Near the entrance you can buy food, souvenirs, and many other products. The negative side of the place is of course the TONS of people that visit it. Some parts were just to crowded... Anyway if you are in this part of the country, it is a must visit. Im not sure if its worthy a long trip from Seoul.

Simply awesome. Only thing to keep in mind is when is the peak of autumn colours. We were lucky to get a lot of nice colours, still it could ge better few days later. Also do not travel during weekends as the place gets super crowded and we spent 6 hours to return to Seoul.

Scenic, and at times, stunning place. The mountains aren't that tall or challenging as far as hikes go, and the trails leading to the mountains aren't that noteworthy, but boy are they beautiful. The autumn foliage here is phenomenal, one of the best spots in Korea to see the changing leaves. Of course, that means massive crowds, especially on weekends. If you can swing time off from work, do try and come here on a weekday so you won't be here with throngs of people. Or you could just come here outside of the 3 week foliage window, but you would be missing out on some of the best fall foliage there is

1/11/2022 Beautiful natural creature especially in autumn season. See turning-Red tree around Uhwajeong pavillion with bright blue color roof. Recommend to be here around mid November.
