It's saddening to leave a poor review for this property because im sure it supports many locals with needed employment, however as a tourist I would highly suggest avoiding this property. It is not safe to get to and from the hotel to the town, the cobblestone is very steep and so worn down it is slippery. As a fit couple in our 30s we barely made it to and from each day. There is one elevator build inside of a mountain that is extremely sketchy. It is the only one out of three elevators that is functioning. The others have been broken without repair for over a year. If the elevator stopped running, I am pretty sure someone could be stuck in there with no service for days on end. I am sure this was a wonderful property decades ago, but the town has lost its charm and this property is not maintained. I felt unsafe each day. The room was dusty, plumping was an issue, bed was hard, pools were not clean, random children were climbing the outside of the building and walked into our private pool, the lounge chairs at the pool are very old and have limited support, On the positive side, the views are very nice from the hotel restaurant and good was good. It could be a good place to stop for views and a drink.

This is truly a hidden gem. Views are perfect. Included breakfast overlooks the town…serene and peaceful location. Town comes alive with music at night. Surrounded by castles. Just lovely. Staff was very nice and always available to assist. Rooms were comfortable and clean. We enjoyed wine delivered to us by friendly staff on the balcony overlooking the room pool and shared waterfall pool while the town bustled below. It’s like staying in a castle. The builders paid great attention to detail. This is worth a visit if you enjoy relaxing outside the hustle and bustle of city life.

Skip this hotel! Go and check out the view but do not stay here. |You can’t drink the water from the faucet but they don’t tell you. |Our guide told us on the bus. |They don’t have a sign saying don’t drink this and they don’t offer large bottles of water and you have to call reception. |Don’t know who the electrician was but he should be fired or he is at home laughing at the tourists trying to figure out the light switches and what turn what on. It was horrible. |The hotel staff did not give any instructions and again there are no signs. |And there is no WiFi in the rooms. Only thing that was good was that it was close to the restaurant Valaora.

We just completed five days at Nafplia Palace. My wife visited the hotel 12 years ago and remembered it fondly so she booked us here. Upon arrival, we were confused because the main lobby is shut down. A wonderful staff member named Giannis came and assisted us. Everything written about the hotel being dated, feeling desolate, lacking WiFi, and like a shell of its former self is true. We enjoyed our experience nonetheless. When we book hotels we look for places that are not massive chains. We always try to support local business. Therefore we don’t have grand expectations like we would if staying at a Four Seasons. Nafplia Palace was great to us. We would stay again. Perched on the mountain, it was great to overlook the former capital of Greece and enjoy some serenity away from the nightlife. We had a stroller for a baby and the lift worked fine. It made it easy to visit the town and when we were done we’d retreat to our sanctuary. Unfortunately, based upon reviews and our experience it does appear as though the current ownership group is not interested in updates to the rooms or property. The staff do the best they can with what they are given. Many of the staff are locals, born and raised. If you want Four Seasons, book that. If you want a quiet secluded room perfect for unplugging for a few days, Napflia Palace is great. We hope when we return to the town this hotel is still an option.

Rated as a 5 star hotel. We paid £1,877 for 2 nights and couldn’t wait to leave. Certainly not a 5 star experience. Half of the resort was closed despite it being advertised as fully open with luxury accommodation and amenities. The whole place seemed deserted. It was poorly maintained, outdated and neglected. Very few things actually worked. Everything at breakfast looked like it had been there for days, we skipped breakfast. The lift going through the hillside to take you down to the old town was broken, vandalised, covered in graffiti and smelled of urine, having used the lift once I would not use it again and paid for taxi’s to and from the old town. The fact that the hotel think it acceptable for guests to use that lift is utterly disgraceful. This would have once been a fabulous hotel, the views are amazing and it is so sad to see it now in its neglected state. Please do not stay at this hotel, you will regret it and instead stay in one of the lovely boutique hotels in the old town for a fraction of the price.

This hotel needs an update of electrical and plumbing systems. The outlets didn’t work, no lights in the steam shower which also does not work. Needs a renovation. The lights need to all be on or all off, which is difficult in the middle of the night if you need to use the bathroom. Bathtub is in middle of the room, toilet behind a clear glass door. The whole room just felt dangerous and uncomfortable.

An absolutely stunning location, almost within the grounds of the ancient fortifications. The hotel is set on a hill overlooking the old town and the waterfront, offering breathtaking views. There is even an elevator that takes you directly down to the old town, making it very easy to get around. The hotel also has its own parking, which is very convenient. We were upgraded to a room with a private pool, which was a wonderful bonus during the hot days of our trip. The room was spacious, with a huge bathroom featuring a freestanding bathtub and a large shower. There was also a jacuzzi, although unfortunately, it wasn’t working during our stay. The room included a bidet toilet, plenty of towels, including beach towels, a comfortable bed, and good quality linens. Everything was very clean. The only downside was the lack of Wi-Fi in the room, but we were informed this was a temporary issue. It’s also worth noting that the hotel is a bit old, with rooms full of technology that was modern 10 years ago, and not everything works perfectly. However, this did not spoil our overall impression. Breakfast was decent, and the restaurant offers a spectacular view while you eat. Overall, we definitely recommend this hotel for your stay in Nafplio.

This is the worst hotel I have stayed in in my entire life. It is a complete wreck. Leaking corridors, dead plants, plastic chairs, an entire building abandoned, a garage filled with graffiti, a restaurant that smells like raw sewage and, naturally, NO GUESTS! We checked out after a sleepless night. It was a disgusting experience.
