Classical bar style Okonomiyaki restaurant. Friendly but busy staff and looooong waiting lines. Be prepared to wait 30min+ in line. But: it's worth it. The Okonomiyaki is served fresh prepared right in front of you (if you get a bar seating). The taste is amazing, we couldn't get enough but one per person is more than enough even to feed the super hungry. Definitely recommended.

Google
A friend recommended this restaurant, there was a little line, took about 20 mins and we were in the front door. The place was warm and the smells amazing. We ordered and the beer and the okonomiyaki arrived. Add he sauce cut it up and into the mouth…..amazing and delicious. Good prices, friendly and fast service. A must when in Hiroshima.

Google
Eating at this restaurant was one of my top Japan experiences 1/2 way through our 20 day trip. The 45-minute wait was worth it. We were welcomed by staff and had a menu and were able to submit our order prior to being seated. We had a table where we could see the hard, yet artful, work of the chefs. The food smelled wonderful, was absolutely delicious, and the condiments at the table offered various added flavors. The price was completely fare for a great meal. I liked the place so much I bought a t-shirt to remember the place, and I rarely buy myself gifts.

Google
Super yummy okonomiyaki in Hiroshima with loads of vegetarian options! Perfect opportunity to try okonomiyaki with both meat eaters and vegetarians. They cook fresh and serve on hot plates to maintain heat. We arrived not long after 6pm and queued for a little while but not too long. Definitely worth it!

Google
Excellent okonomiyaki! Prices are reasonable, too . The wait was about 15 mins just before 6 pm on a weekday. We sat at the counter it was very interesting to see the way they expertly cooked the okonomiyaki. You can choose a choice of udon or ramen noodles. If u prefer more crispy texture, try the ramen noodles. Both are equally delicious.

Google
Are you kidding!? The food here is incredible. Little bit of a line to get in, but well worth the wait. Super reasonable price and incredibly filling meals. My mates and I will definitely be back here again. Service was great, super friendly staff and awesome vibes. The food is super fresh, and the flavours work really well. Definitely recommend.

Google
Being a very nice experience sitting at the bar, we were also really happy with the taste of the food (which gets prepared in front of your eyes). So it’s definitely worth the wait. The waiting time was estimated to be 90 minutes. I think right then the food was ready. Only waiting time was approximately 50 minutes. Drinks came first as asked for by a waitress. We recommend to have a small snack before if you are really hungry. Then wait, sit and enjoy.

Google
Staffs are friendly and has good vibes. Yet, the food is not cooked properly. Ingredients are ok, yet the tastes do not coordinate to each other because how they cook unskillfully. Waited so long, yet the okonomiyaki is not hot too. One of the worst okonomiyaki I have ever had and doesn't worth to waste time there.

Yelp
Very delicious okonomiyaki. If you're hungry and cold, this is the place to be to fill up at night after walking around Hiroshima and exploring all day. All the dishes we got were delicious and had great flavor! I would recommend going a bit earlier because there will be a line for it. The vibes were great and I can't complain about anything there except for the gyoza. Those I don't really recommend because it wasn't my preferred food. They do add some lemon in there so it is slightly different than what I'm used to. But I do recommend the oysters and definitely add that lemon ponzu sauce on it, absolutely delicious.

Connie M.

Yelp
We waited in line because we saw a ton of people waiting for it. Took about an hour. Ordered the original and wow did it come with a lot of green onion, my breath went hard! The okonomiyaki here is dryer than the type in Osaka. I think it's because they use noodles here. I thought it was okay, I had to put a lot of Mayo and sauce to moisten it up. The oysters on the other hand do get! I could spend all night eating oysters only

Yelp
This isn't a far walk from the Hiroshima Memorial...cross the bridge & it's on the right hand side of the street not far from the bridge. We got there after a little after 13:00, hoping to miss the lunch rush, but there was still a long queue; it was about 30 minutes before we were seated. This gave enough time to review the menu, so once we were seated we were able to order right away. The restaurant was small and a bit cramped by American standards, but you could say it was cozy. I don't know enough to distinguish the different styles of okonomiyaki's--the version I previously ate was with cabbage and not with soba. Having tried the Hiroshima style, I definitely prefer it with soba over cabbage. We ordered the deluxe, original and the garlic--all with soba noodles. Both the original and garlic were covered in green onions and topped with a raw egg, which you would take the hera and mix it all together on the tabletop flat skillet. There is a methodology to using that utensil--it's easier than it looks! It was a fun experience. We also ordered freshly steamed Hiroshima oysters, that was so delicious; sweet and juicy (not briney like the oysters in the US). The okonomiyaki was tasty and delicious, I think I enjoyed it more than my family. One okonomiyaki is enough for 2 people--we each ordered our own and it was a lot of food. If you are visiting Hiroshima--this is definitely a must try.

Chi P.

Yelp
Okonomiyaki is not my favorite food but I wanted to give it a try. This one tasted different. The noodles are softer and overall the flavor was much better than I remember. I also like that you add your own sauce on top so it's to your liking. Usually it comes with too much sauce for me. The wait was pretty long for dinner even on a weekday. Prices were very low so it's a great place to eat if you want tasty food at budget prices.

Aaron I.

Yelp
Didn't have to wait in a huge line- food was great and service was great too. We didn't plan ahead and anticipate how long the line down the woad would be so this was a great substitution.

Jeremy R.

Yelp
Ok, so there are definite regional differences in okonomiyaki styles. We are used to Osaka style with cabbage but Hiroshima style adds udon instead for a more carby, less vegetal dynamic. I have to admit that I prefer the Osaka style. That being said, service is good, portions are generous and we loved the "Mega" lemon highball. For efficiencies' sake okonomiyake are pre cooked assembly style in the kitchen the plopped on table hot plates to finish. This is not quite as fun as having the whole process take place at the table. Overall, a good experience and worth the half hour wait. Prices are fair.

Kent M.

Yelp
A couple vegan options. Very good, but make sure you get there super early, wait times can get to 2 hours. Definitely worth it.

Taka K.

Yelp
Great oysters great beer greet gyoza and great okonomi. Super long line but don't let that phase you. Get beer across the street and stay Crunk until you eat !

Sue W.

Yelp
We got to restaurant at 12:30 and were in line at spot marked 90 min wait - it took us about 30 min to get seated - they are quite efficient and take orders up to 3 in line waiting. We ordered 2 - seafood and added oysters, and the garlic/no pork - both were excellent were plenty for 3 to share. We also got the lemon soda. I LOVE Oknonomiyaki Hiroshima style and don't think I will ever be happy to eat other styles again. We also went by place at 3:30 on way back to bus - no line! I recommend getting there for early dinner and maybe go to the oyster restaurant next door for lunch instead (they only open til l2:00pm and then reopen at 5:00 - and there were no lines!)

Ray T.

Yelp
Went there and stood in line based on yelp reviews and gluten-free options. Only to be told after waiting they did not accommodate gluten free. The reviews here are misleading. I would recommend google reviews for Japan. Yelp is spotty.

Chris Y.

Yelp
How have I not tried this place before?! This restaurant was amazing at perfecting their Hiroshima style Okonomiyaki. This was my second time visiting the city but my first time hearing about this restaurant. When you arrive, here may be a line out the door but it goes by quickly. Since I came by myself, I was able to sit right by the kitchen and see all the action in front of me. If you're able to sit by the kitchen, it's amazing to see how meticulous and detailed all the cooks are when they're making your meal. I ordered the original since I that's what I saw a lot of guests order. Instead of soba noodles, I asked for using, which probably isn't as good but I still wanted udon noodles that day. The original has a lot of greens onions on it so beware of a strong breath afterwards. I forget what was inside of it but it was filled with different types of seafood and topped with a very nice egg yolk. Best part of eating by the kitchen is that your Okonomiyaki is still on the stove that the chefs cook on but be careful not to eat directly off the stove. Make sure to cut it to the size you want and place it on the plate in front of you. Otherwise, the meal was amazing and I'd definitely come back next time I'm in Japan.

Yelp
Not too hard to find...just a few minutes walk from the Peace Dome and steps away from the "hypocenter" you'll find this okonomiyaki-centric spot where they're happy to take care of you with their famous Hiroshima style Okonomiyaki. What is Okonomiyaki, you may ask? I'm still not sure, but it's a many, many-layered Japanese dish with a thin pancake-like layer (more crepe-like really) that has other layers such as cabbage, noodles, egg, sauce, kimchee, and in this case a melted cheese topping. It's a complex looking and tasting, casual, dish that you'll lose track of while you're eating. But it is uniquely Japanese and, at this particular spot, they're happy to adjust the food to your diet (vegetarian, gluten-free) though they do say that "egg is essential" so vegan is not possible.) They cook it with two spatulas in a big griddle and then serve it to you on your own heating griddle at the table where you also eat it with little spatulas. We had 2 of them...one with cheese and one without...2 was a whole lot of food for 2 people but we did pretty well. Mine had melted cheese and was spicy with green onions and egg yolk My wife's had no cheese and seaweed on top. It all tasted good. The noodle layer was unique compared to a similar okonomiyaki we had in Kyoto This is food is uniquely Japanese, and at this spot is uniquely Hiroshima. Get yourself hungry and give it a try.

Jenny N.

Yelp
Cash only! Thankfully, there's a 7/11 across the street with an ATM. I advise coming before the lunch rush. Remember this before you go inside. I came after visiting the peace park, and only waited 5mins before I was seated. They take your order when you're outside. If you get seated at the bar, you get to watch process. I was fortunate enough to be seated there. The food is good and very filling. I left barely able to walk afterwards.

Yelp
This Okonomiyaki restaurant has a great reputation and we really enjoyed our visit there. They are one of the best at Okonomiyaki, a style of pancake/crepe recipe that is popular in Hiroshima. The Okonomiyaki is laid out on the grill at your table, so it stays piping hot. There's lots to choose from on the menu, including some vegetarian options. There's usually a line, so consider arriving. The line moves fairly quickly. Excellent food, and a great location, near to the Peace Park.

Diane M.

Yelp
It is still one of the more popular spots to get okonomiyaki in Hiroshima. As we waited an hour in the rain, we met travelers from Israel and some locals in line. For efficient time use, this spot, like many other courteous restaurants, take your order while in line. Yes, they offer an English menu in copy as well as on line. Whew, I breathed in relief! Custom to order is a plus to have when there is a vegetarian and a seafood lover in your group! My large, layered entree, consisted of a crepe like pancake, egg, green onion, pork(bacon) bean sprouts, shrimp, okonomiyaki sauce with my choice of soba or udon noodles topped with potent seaweed. The seaweed had such a strong flavor that my daughter discreetly scraped all of it off! Lastly, I love how they serve your meal on the preheated table griddle so the entree stays hot and you can enjoy every last bite, as hot as the first!

Sabrina M.

Yelp
Local hole in the wall. Excellent yakisoba at very reasonable prices. Welcoming to us gaijin. ambiance is very casual. Perfect for a quick bite and beer.

Yelp
When in Hiroshima - one must try their okonomiyaki! Visited Hiroshima in March 2017. This was a short walk from Peace Park and there was no wait since we were one of the first few customers there when they opened. It was plenty to share for the 2 of us with the original which has pork, raw egg, squid, shrimps, green onions with soba noodles. It was so fun to watch them at work in making all the okonomiyaki! I love how it comes in our own personal hot plate area in front of us, you eat with a spatula scooper so it is warm til the very last bite. It was simply delicious. We tried another okonomiyaki the next day at the JR Hiroshima station but Nagataya was better! Definitely not to miss when you're here! P.S. If you're in LA, you can try Chinchikurin on Sawtelle. Is not quite the same, but pretty darn close. Must be something with the water in Japan and also how they take pride in cooking/presentation of the food!

Yelp
Food: - Plum Wine Hiroshima Umeshu (with flesh of fruit) (630 Yen) - Garlic Okonomiyaki (1200 Yen) - Pork, egg, cheese, garlic chips, kimchi, green onions, and soba. Just the right amount of salty. Very flavorful. 4.5/5 - Deluxe Okonomiyaki (1150 Yen) - Pork, egg, cheese, rice cake, corn, udon noodles. Extra green onions. It was creamy and tasty. 4/5 - Original Okonomiyaki (1350 Yen) - Pork, raw egg, squid, shrimp, squid chip, green onion, udon noodles. Delicious. I liked the Japanese mayo with this one. 4/5 Presentation: Came out looking super tasty. Service and Decor: They were extremely fast and nice. You do need to say "excuse me" in Japanese when you're done for the check. There was a huge line outside, but since we came right at 11, we were able to sit inside! Convenient because it's next to the Memorials.

Daniel A.

Yelp
The best view is watching them cook all the different variations of okonomiyaki so I highly recommend the counter seats or a table by the counter.

Kelly H.

Yelp
Absolutely love this place! Located near the peace Park, this restaurant has one of the best okonomiyaki I've tasted!! Typically a wait and if you go in a large group (more than 4) you have to sit at separate tables. The okonomiyaki is fairly large so between 4 people we decided to share 3. On the side of the restaurant, you can see all the chefs making the okonomiyaki and then they transfer the okonomiyaki to the grill on your table to keep it hot. I tried the garlic, deluxe, and seafood all of which was delicious!! Each okonomiyaki was packed with noodles, lettuce, and meat. My favorite was the deluxe okonomiyaki particularly because I loved the melted cheese. They have sauces on the side that I highly recommend putting (brown sauce and mayo). They also have chili powder if you want a nice kick! Overall highly recommend!

Joshua M.

Yelp
Okonomiyaki Nagtaya is the place for super delicious Hiroshima style okonomiyaki! They have tables here perfect for groups and also counter seating. The only bummer about the table seating is that they don't cook the okonomiyaki in front of you as they do all that at the counter and simply bring it over when it's ready. They do leave it on the grill though to keep in warm and so that the tables can still have the ultimate enjoyment of grabbing their metal scoops to grab their portion. There are a variety of okonomiyaki choices and each one can come with either soba or udon noodles. I enjoyed both of them very much and it's really just up to preference of whether the party likes thinner or thicker noodles. My favorite okonomiyaki here has to be the oyster one as the oyster adds a much needed kick of flavor to the dish. I felt that the other meat and seafood choices were still very great, but were a bit drowned out by the abundance of other flavors throughout. Each table comes with a ridiculous variety of sauces that one can add to their okonomiyaki. This ranges from spicy sauce to garlic powder to kewpie mayonnaise and a whole lot more. Mixing and matching the sauces makes the experience a lot of fun and personalized.

Eva L.

Yelp
Hiroshima is known for their okonomiyaki, which is basically a savory pancake with different layers of your choice of protein, noodles, sauce, green onions etc! We ordered the Special and Shrimp & Cheese. They come already cooked to you but your table has a grill so I recommend letting it sit for a bit before you bite into it. There's sauce available and also a mayo bottle (HIGHLY recommend) that you can add to your okonomiyaki. The Shrimp & Cheese was pretty flavorful along with the Special. We both enjoyed it and you can definitely taste the quality of the food there. TIP: come early or during off-peak hours because there will be a long line outside!

Wendy C.

Yelp
Absolutely Amazing Food!!! We came here on a Friday during lunch time. It wasn't that we were specifically looking for this place but it was the closest to where we were and it was just about to open. There was a line even before they opened. We got seated pretty quick in a table with a grill in the middle. The okonomiyaki was delicious! You can order one and add toppings if you want to customize. I got the special one and my friends got the original with toppings. I loved the special as it had shrimp and plenty of seafood. The portions are pretty big!! When they bring them out, they lay them in the grill so it stays warm while you enjoy your meal. The table also has a variety of sauces in which you could choose from. Definitely worth the visit and wait! Amazing food awaits :)

Tatiana S.

Yelp
Whoa. If you're looking to try okonomiyaki, this is the spot to go! While the restaurant is relatively small and you'll find a line out the door, they're very efficient with seating people and the line moves relatively quickly. I also like how they take your order before you get seated so that it takes less time to arrive at your table once you do sit down. The okonomiyaki here is Hiroshima style, which means you get it with soba or udon noodles. They have a wide variety of options, including a full vegetarian menu which really appealed to me! I had the jalapeno and cheese stuffed with cabbage. If you think one isn't going to be filling, think again! I could barely finish mine. Make sure to come hungry and enjoy a beer or specialty cocktail with your meal!

Dante H.

Yelp
This restaurant is rated one of Japan's top 100 okonomiyaki restaurants on Tabelog. I can see why, although I haven't eaten that much okonomiyaki in my life. I went for lunch, didn't have to wait to sit down but food took a while to come. Koi something cocktail (maybe some pun about baseball?) was great. Had the kimchi, seafood, house specialty, and stamina okonomiyaki. I particularly like the stamina one after putting the spicy sauce on it. Only draw back was it was a bit busy and we wanted to add on to our orders after our initial order, and it took a lot of yelling and hand waving to get the waiters' attention. It's cool to sit on the counter or the tables by the counter and watch the chefs make okonomiyaki on the big teppan, then transfer it to the personal teppan. Definitely some of the best okonomiyaki I've eaten.

Brian G.

Yelp
Okonominyaki! This place was fantastic because they cook it right in front of you or bring it to your table that has a hot flat grill to keep your okonominyaki nice and hot. I ordered the green onion one and wow it just has tons of flavor! Topped with a huge load of green onion, with cabbage and noodles. Also, the Mayo and spicy sauce were delicious. Reasonable prices for huge portions. Felt very full and satisfied afterwards. Food: 5/5 Value: 4.75/5 Service: 4/5 Overall: 5/5

Huong L.

Yelp
This is by far the best okonomiyaki i ever had! I tried the one over in osaka and this is way better. Osaka vs Hiroshima okonomiyaki is like new york vs chicago style pizza. But here, without a doubt, hiroshima is the champion. First, it was soooo big, it can easily feed 2 people. And there was so many toppings. We ordered the original and the seafood okonomiyaki. It is placed on a grilling table sonit can continue to be hot. And there are a lot of sauce and spice on the table that you can use to enhance the flavor. You can also choose between udon and soba. I opted for soba. Service was good as well and the even though there was a line, it went fast. If i were to come back to Japan, i would definitely come back to Hiroshima just for this!

Christine W.

Yelp
Famous okonomiyaki of Hiroshima! *** Locals Teppanyaki for you to prepare on your own! *** Travelers Right by the atomic bomb site, grew to stop by after paying respects. *** My Recommendation You sit in front of a black top, they provide you the okonomiyaki and you can add your toppings of sauces before cutting it up yourself like pizza. Hiroshima-styles okonomiyaki! Definitely share with someone. It's huge! IG: @foodisseur

Ben I.

Yelp
I got the oyster okonomiyaki and let me tell you, you have not had real okonomiyaki until you tried these Hiroshima style pancakes. Even calling them pancakes are downplaying how good these were, each of these were crafted with skill and love! The layering of ingredients, variety of textures and flavours made these super fun to eat. There is probably over 4 layers (batter, noodles, meat and veggies) and you could see the chef scraping the ones that didn't pass its structural integrity so you know they aren't kidding around when making these. You even get a griddle in front of you so you can play with your food! We came back during our second night in Hiroshima and it was as just as incredible as the first time, definitely try this out at least once.

Cindy L.

Yelp
Nagata-ya was pretty high up on my to-try list because I had read multiple raving reviews and our friends went the day before and recommended it. So even though there was a huge line, we waited over an hour to get in on a Saturday afternoon around 3pm... and I'm happy we did. My boyfriend and I shared the original and the oyster okonomiyaki. We got the original one with udon and the oyster one with soba to try out both types of noodles. We both thought the chewier udon paired better in the okonomiyaki, even though soba seemed like the far more popular option based on what the chefs were making. In terms of flavor, both were delicious and really intricately made. Having tried both Osaka and Hiroshima-style okonomiyaki, I much prefer Hiroshima's. It takes longer to make, but everything is cooked in layers so you get more of the flavors and textures than when it's all cooked together. I also loved the pile of raw green onions on top. This is the type of comfort food I wish they would bring to the States!

Marc P.

Yelp
After visiting the A Bomb Dome, we took the extremely short walk over here to grab some dinner and beers. When it is a full house, as it was the night we were there, this is how the system works as follows: -- The hostess has you and your party stand outside. -- At some point she will bring you over a menu. This menu is NOT for casual perusal, but rather it is expected that everyone in your party will actively look over the menu and figure out what you want to order (drinks as well). -- The hostess will come back in couple of minutes to take your order. -- When the hostess determines that seating is becoming close to available, she will allow you to sit inside near the door. -- And then finally you will get seated at either a table or at the bar where they prepare your food. Once we were seated, our large beers that we ordrered outside arrived rather quickly. And we were quite happy that they were truly "large."; many places in Japan we ordered large beers that turned out to be only 12 ounces or so. These, on the other hand were in big cold mugs that were at least 16 oz. 5 Stars on the beer for cold large beers! We were seated at the bar where all the food is prepared, along with 8 or so others that were enjoying their meals, and it was really fun to watch the chefs in action. We could also see, that the okonomiyaki dishes that they were preparing were quite large. At this point I was wondering whether I really should have ordered that spicy fish appetizer. But, when that appetizer came I was really glad I did.....it was delicious! When they slid the food that they were cooking for us over to us, we were quite happy with the quality of the ingredients, and I am sure I would have enjoyed mine more fully had I not made the mistake of going for "the original". I decided to go for it because I figured they started with that one. It came with a raw egg on top, and I don't know if I was supposed to push that onto the hot cooking surface myself, but I did not and rather just rather ate the raw yolk as I was eating the okonomiyaki....unfortunately for me the raw yolk left an aftertaste that I just could not shake. I won't mark the place down for my mistake of ordering "the original" and eating the yold raw, but I will caution others who are not familiar with eating raw egg to reconsider and order one of the many other choices that do not come with raw egg on top.

Barbie S.

Yelp
This was one of the best okonomiyaki pancakes I've had in Hiroshima. There are so many ingredients and seasonings making this one of the best. I added extra green onions and jalapeno peppers (on the side). Make sure you top it off with mayo. It gets kind of hot sitting at the grill so I would recommend asking for a table if it's available. Don't let the mostly foreign crowd put you off, locals love it here too. PROS: Okonomiyaki English menu Made to order CONS: Limited seating

Isabel D.

Yelp
I was told to try the okonomiyaki while I was in Hiroshima and I'm glad I did! There was a wait when I came by, however the line went by very quickly. You can sit at your own table or right across the table from where the chefs are making the food. This restaurant is very famous among foreigners! The okonomiyaki was so delicious!! I didn't know what to expect since I've never had it before. Portions are very large and they have so many different options.

Drew H.

Yelp
This was a pretty solid recommendation from yelp. 250 feet outside of the front door is Ground Zero so if you're here, as I would expect most tourist, it is right in the heart of Hiroshima. Around the corner is the bomb doom and peace memorial park.As They say, there was a line and it ended up being worth the wait. I didn't examine the menu too much but noticed that you can get oysters by themself and not only within the okonomiyaki. Hiroshima is noon for the oysters so I really wish I would have looked closer. There is a really good oyster shop right next-door as well. I'll definitely visit again before my departure!

Willis W.

Yelp
Go there before the museum closes because you will get the crowds from the museum. I waited 5 mins at around 5 and at 6 the line was around the corner. The nice thing about this place is that they don't slather the sauce on. However because it is listed on trip advisor as a spot to go, you will rarely see any locals there, the lines are insane and cash only. One is good enough to spare between two people. It is worth a try but if the lines are too long go to the ones at the Hiroshima train stations because they are just as good.

Autumn M.

Yelp
Yes yes yes! This is THE okonomiyaki place to go if you have dietary restrictions. Very Muslim / halal friendly. Very close to the A Bomb Dome and Peace Park. Affordable, and always crowded! You order while in line and English menu is offered. For dietary restrictions you can choose either no pork meat (A), no pork meat or additives (B) or total vegetarian including no egg. I went for B. They were very thorough about cleaning the space and utensils! There was a separate vegetarian sauce. Taste was a 10/10. Hiroshima okonomiyaki is the best!

Dean N.

Yelp
I was wandering the streets of Hiroshima and found this establishment. Okonomiyaki!!! I read okonomiyaki is a regional cuisine in Hiroshima, so it was a must! I had to wait a short while to be seated but it was worth the wait. The server sat me at the bar/grill where the chefs prepared the okonomiyaki in front of you. I ordered the pork with vegetables and a cold drink to parch my thirst on that hot evening. The chefs usied their skills to create my okonomiyaki in front of me. It was delicious. The noodles were crisp yet able to cut into it as I picked at it with my hashi. I didn't think one portion would fill me, but it did. The okonomiyaki is huge. As large as a pancake! The service was fast and I was out if there to continuing exploring the city.

Caroline L.

Yelp
I prefer the Hiroshima style okonomiyaki over Osaka's style. I like the layering of ingredients and the yummy noodles. We waited around an hour for a table of 2 in the afternoon . They try to be as efficient as possible by coming out to take your order first before you are seated. So by the time you are seated your food is almost done cooking. We got the Oyster and the Deluxe, one with soba and one with udon. While the udon wasn't bad, I definitely preferred the soba. The Oyster was good but Deluxe was the winner for taste in my opinion. If you have time in Hiroshima, definitely try this place. It's yummy!

David H.

Yelp
Great okonomiyaki, and open late. Huge portions for pretty cheap prices. I loved the calamari okonomiyaki here.

Chloe K.

Yelp
I made a trip all the way out to Hiroshima to try their specialty dish, okonomiyaki! There was a line to get in so we walked across and grabbed some beers to drink while we waited. We waited maybe 20 mins. They have English menus. We got the deluxe one ($12?)and the oyster one($15). We were seated at a table with our own teppanyaki grill. There are a bunch of sauces on the side you can use to add to okonomiyaki. I recommend the mayo and the spicy sauce (not really spicy) and also the lemon hot sauce which is kinda like a green salsa with lemon. I ate the oyster one and it was delicious. My friends said it was way better than another place they tried in Hiroshima.

Yelp
This place was worth waiting in line for. This was our first time trying okonomiyaki and we were impressed. They do have a English menu and the waiters were nice and friendly. They took our order before we were seated so we didn't have to wait long to eat after they sat us down. I'm not a beer person but I certainly do like the beer they serve here. The food was amazing and we had a great experience. Also they do have vegetarian options as well!

Yelp
Located right next to Peace Park, this is a great dinner stop after a day of walking and self-reflecting. There was a bit of a line to get in but the staff were friendly and provided different language menus to each of the parties. I dined solo so I got to sit in front of the grill where all the magic took place. It was my first time having Hiroshima okonomiyaki and wow its actually a hefty meal with all of the soba and other mix-ins. Service was on-point and they kept refilling beers as needed. Highly recommended.

Yelp
BEST Okonomiyaki I have ever had!! After trying Yelps top places for it in Tokyo, Osaka and now Hiroshima, this is hands down the best I had out of all three! AND YOU CAN'T TEACH THAT!! This is sooo good I am drooling thinking about it with a full belly! Wait in queue I did for 45 minutes, they take your order once your in queue and you still wait about 10 - 15 minutes when you have been sat, something this good does not come quick, it takes a long time for them to prepare! I had the soba noodles with Original that comes with a few proteins and green onions! YUM perhaps it was this difference that made it stand out, but very few places I say are must eats after going! This is one of them!!

Yelp
Hearing all about the good things about Hiroshima-style okonomiyaki, I knew I had to make a visit to an okonomiyaki restaurant for dinner when I was visiting with my friends on a day trip. We decided to go for Nagata-ya, as it was close to the Peace Park. We came before the peak dinner hours (arrived around 5:45), and we didn't have to wait in line. We ordered a couple okonomiyakis to share (four to start with, added one more) for four people. We chose their Original, Deluxe, Special, and Seafood okonomiyakis. Chose some with soba and others with udon, and added some extra toppings. The servers came back with the okonomiyakis freshly cooked. Already the aromas from the deliciously looking pancakes was floating in the air. We divided each okonomiyaki in quarters. The first bite was amazing: all the different ingredients from the okonomiyaki (soba, eggs, meat, sauces, green onion) complimented each other incredibly well. All of the okonomiyakis were very unique - I especially liked the ones we added udon in, which is pretty atypical for okonomiyakis. The okonomiyakis are all very large - one is definitely more than enough to fill one person. I was so bloated after we were finished (the good kind of bloated). Service was very friendly and attentive. Highly recommend this okonomiyaki restaurant for its convenience, service, and amazing okonomiyaki!

Yelp
Waited outside, then waited more to get our food. Very tasty. They place the cooked okonomiyaki on the griddle in front of you so it stays warm. Extra condiments to tailor it further. Tip: get the oyster version - for just a few hundred yen more than the regular, get 4 (or was it 5?) plump and tasty oysters in your pancake. Yummy!

Yelp
I was skeptical but it was outstanding! I got vegetarian with udon. The staff was great and assisted as this was my first time. Definitely a five star!

Yelp
Absolutely delicious. If you're lucky you'll be seated at the the griddle where they cook the okonomiyaki in front of you. Took some time to make it but it was worth the wait. I ordered the classic. I would highly recommend it. It's also conveniently located down the road from the A-bomb dome.

Yelp
I saw the line out the door and already knew it was going to be amazing. The wait was actually pretty short, surprisingly, and we were only waiting in line for about 20 minutes before we sat down. It was a small restaurant with seating at tables and seating at the grill. We got lucky and sat at the counter in front of the grill, so we watched them cook. It was really neat seeing how it was made. The menu (which was also offered in English) had a pretty good selection of okonomiyaki and alcoholic beverages. The menu even included pork-free and vegetarian options. I tried the seafood okonomiyaki and my husband had the cheese and shrimp. It was DELICIOUS and didn't even take that long for them to cook. The chefs made it look easy! They did a wonderful job.
