One of the more popular restaurants in Nikkō near Tōshō-gū shrine is Fudan Kaiseki Nagomi Chaya, and they specialize in yuba (the top layer that forms when making tofu).
We went for a kaiseki yuba lunch course that consisted of about 9 dishes with several of them incorporating either yuba or tofu.
It’s a small shop with a Japanese vibe, some of the tables have floor seating, and service is really good. This a great place to stop for some authentic Nikkō specialties.
