Beautiful local restaurant with typical Nikko Kaiseki, all delicious and to enjoy to the last bite. Lovely service and very willing to explain everything in English despite the difficulties sometimes. I would definitely recommend.

It is a famous restaurant near Nikko Toshogu Shrine. They do not allow advance booking so you need to walk in and make a reservation. It is worthy to visit this restaurant which is very cosy and food quality is great too.

This is the best Yuba Kaiseki restaurant in Nikko . The yuba kaiseki lunch set menu cost 2700yen and come with 8 different dishes , every dishes were tasty . Reservation is needed we were luck to enter just before 2pm otherwise we couldn’t be able to get a seat .

A must try Yoba (film of boiled soy milk). Great atmosphere. Food are great. They serve 2 sets menu during lunch, standard and special (add a dish of raw Yoba). Good services.

Excellent Kaiseki lunch (Japanese multiple course meal focused on small portions and excellent presentation) which was affordable given these meals would be much more expensive in Tokyo or Kyoto! The service was friendly and helpful. The food was so thoughtful and delicious! Tempura was light and tofu was flavourful. Would def recommend this meal before visiting the holy temples of Nikko

One of the more popular restaurants in Nikkō near Tōshō-gū shrine is Fudan Kaiseki Nagomi Chaya, and they specialize in yuba (the top layer that forms when making tofu). We went for a kaiseki yuba lunch course that consisted of about 9 dishes with several of them incorporating either yuba or tofu. It’s a small shop with a Japanese vibe, some of the tables have floor seating, and service is really good. This a great place to stop for some authentic Nikkō specialties.

Really tasty and not that expensive. The sea urchin on sea brass was outstanding. They are super, super friendly and try to explain everything in English. Was a really calm and relaxed place. I would come again!

I loved it! You can sit both ways - western and Japanese, and the setup is casual. After staying for 3 months in Japan, I had Yuba for the first time. The quality of food was amazing and so was the hospitality. If you are a tofu lover - you will not want to miss this experience
