I give it 4 stars for the planetarium!! The exhibits were a little old school, quite nostalgic of those I visited when I was in school (during the last century..)
Still,a good place to whole way an hour or two! Don't bother with the show, unless you understand Japanese. It's like a PowerPoint presentation, telling the story in Japanese only. I really think the show needs an update...

It’s an engaging and family-friendly place, especially great for children. As it was the weekend, it was quite crowded. For the planetarium, make sure to get your tickets early—otherwise, the best seats will be gone.

Loved this iconic museum and planetarium in Nagoya. The museum if 100% kids friendly, you will see a lot of families coming. The exhibitis are very interactive, and there is a planetarium with presentations happening often, which I recommend. I also attended a science demonstration aimed at children, which was very nice.

If u have Nagoya day pass you get discount. Children are free🎉 you pay fot additional access to watch planetarium and thats another story...
better to go early to have slots for the planetarium. Happy that we were able to get the last 5 slots.
But SAD with our experience
There can be more visitors if they can have ENGLISH subtiles in their videos and english text on their posters.
Hard to use google trqnslate and explain to kids who don't have gadgets. 🥴 suggestions:
put headphones beside chairs so non Japanese people can choose English to understand what the commentator is talking about.
Waste of money in planetarium ticket.
Unless u want to sleep and rest coz you see a lot of people sleeping with the comfy chairs. 🤣🤣🤣
It's already year 2025 and they should have this by now. 😵💫🙄 so people can appreciate your hardwork you given to build the planetarium
Staffs are friendly.
I have friends who didnt bother coming here coz they say it's all in Japanese language. 🥴
Start of planetarium show background music in English... person beside me sleeping and snoring. Hahaha

The place was interesting, but I only stayed for 10 minutes because it was so crowded.
The staff were also friendly, especially the elderly lady outside. Even though my Japanese isn’t very fluent, she patiently guided me.
I truly admire her work ethic despite her age. Wishing her good health always.

You need children to bear this place. As adults it’s hard to enjoy m. 400 yen will get you an entry ticket. Don’t expect anything major! Kids everywhere. Long lines for the cool attractions.

Good experience from this place. This building has 7 floor each floor separate by each item of science Physic , Chemistry , Biology , Space , History and there are lab , perform in here. On the top has Planetary room that you need to reserve to go there.
You can take your time on this museum whole 1 day of your weekend.

Best science museum I've ever been to. Mainly Japanese so need a phone with a translator.
There's also good exhibits for children and adults. The museum starts off more kiddy and progresses up floors with less exhibits for the kids.

Yelp
As a person that really don't care about museum, I thought this is definitely one of the better ones. I think it's also cause it's more of an interactive science museum that makes it a lot better. It's definitely a good place for kids and adults as they have a floor dedicated for kids. I didn't go to the planetarium but I'm sure it would be pretty neat as well. If you're in Nagoya and lacking an activity, I definitely feel it's worth a visit. I

Yelp
This is a fabulous science museum that is great for families with children. There's a whole 2nd floor that is very hands-on for kids. But the upstairs exhibits were more interesting. There's a giant Nagoya City model with a train system in it. Next to it is a cyclone exhibit and they do a demo every hour or 2. Then next to that is an engineering classroom with where students design robots for a soccer match. Really interesting stuff. It's a must-see.
The architecture alone is cool. Please stop by and visit!

Yelp
Fun place to be both young and old.
Planetarium is only in Japanese.
The freezing room wasn't bad.
The light show you can just hangout inside and relax.

Yelp
I have been a planetarium member since 2nd grade all the way up to 12th grade. The current planetarium is incomparable to what we had 40+ years ago. The seating is the first class and it even swivels. I wish they offered the English narration option, but I don't think it will be offered any time soon. The science museum is not a side attraction either. You and your kids will have a blast with all the hands on exhibits.

Yelp
Great museum. Very fun and interactive. My favorite part it the planetarium. The shows & tours are in Japanese though, so if you don't understand the language, it might not be as fun. Still, I recommend it. If you do plan on going to the planetarium, be sure to check the show schedule & availability in advance on their website. Again, the website is Japanese only for the most part.
