|We recently stayed at the Serena Nairobi with our family of five (two energetic youngsters and a teenager) and it was our home base at both the start and finish of our Kenya trip. The hotel's classic colonial design, beautifully blended with authentic African decor, feels calm and comfortable. Our adjoining rooms were spotless and comfy, which is a big plus when you're traveling with a crew. Plus, the location was super convenient, offering easy access to the expressway and getting around Nairobi (get a chauffeur service). The kids loved the pool and gym, but the real highlight for them was the buffet with a great variety, from fresh fruit to a great mix of local and British fare. There are also lots of nooks indoors or by the pool to enjoy drinks and snacks.||But honestly, what truly made our stay were the people. We were so grateful for all the help from Alex, Priscah, Calvin Momanyi, Augustus, Jennifer, and Ann at the front desk—they were all fantastic. Irene Kilesi from Guest Relations was incredibly thoughtful and always checked in on us, which we really appreciated. And Robert Onyango at Concierge was a lifesaver with all our planning questions (and helping print boarding passes). Ambrose Ndambuki made mealtimes a breeze, and Carol from the bakery whipped up some seriously delicious treats. Finally, Angellah Machayo, Boniface Kyalo, and Makau at the bar created such a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere. All in all, it was a genuinely pleasant and easy stay, perfectly suited for a traveling with family. We'll definitely return.|
