We paid 160 000 yen for two rooms and the expecxtations were therefore quite high. Unfortunately, our expectations were not met at all.
It should be noted that it was not possible to use the hot springs since all of them were to hot in July.
The rooms were in traditional style and ok, but the bathrooms were full of spiderwebs and dirt and far from clean. At that price, I would have expected the bathroom to be cleaned, especially given that we only saw two other guests in the entire hotel.
We spent nearly all of the time in a park bench in the parking lot because that was the most pleasant place.
Nor the food met our expectation. Even though it was given a decent effort in the presentation, the quality and taste was just sub par.
We traveled for three weeks (staying in four hotels and three mountain huts), and this was the only place we were genuinely dissatisfied with—regardless of cost. Given that we paid three to five times more here than at any of the other accommodations, we cannot recommend this stay at all.
