We paid 160 000 yen for two rooms and the expecxtations were therefore quite high. Unfortunately, our expectations were not met at all. It should be noted that it was not possible to use the hot springs since all of them were to hot in July. The rooms were in traditional style and ok, but the bathrooms were full of spiderwebs and dirt and far from clean. At that price, I would have expected the bathroom to be cleaned, especially given that we only saw two other guests in the entire hotel. We spent nearly all of the time in a park bench in the parking lot because that was the most pleasant place. Nor the food met our expectation. Even though it was given a decent effort in the presentation, the quality and taste was just sub par. We traveled for three weeks (staying in four hotels and three mountain huts), and this was the only place we were genuinely dissatisfied with—regardless of cost. Given that we paid three to five times more here than at any of the other accommodations, we cannot recommend this stay at all.

They have a 17 hot spring baths inside and outside. Trekking to Enzanso begins here. Room is a traditional Japanese style. Dinner meal is very nicely served with Japanese style. It is good place to relax and experience Japanese hot spring culture.

This traditional hot spring inn has 24 hot springs to indulge in. Unfortunately the buildings, rooms and toilet facilities are run down. Even the food is mediocre. At check-in you are provided with a map (available in Japanese or English) to help you explore all the hot springs.

This place was my introduction to Japan. Got off the plane, took 2 trains and a bus and was plopped right in the middle of nature. Had the entire place practically to myself. I loooooooved this place and hope to visit again one day.

Enjoying a bunch of secret onsen (hot spring) in the Nakafusa Onsen. There are many unique onsen to enjoy, perhaps more than 15 onsen.
