This is a small historical and traditional Japanese hotel. No modern bed. One sleeps on a cushion on tatami. It is located next to the Botanical Garden of University of Hokkaido.

This is a Japanese hotel. It’s breakfast and dinner must be reserved one day before. The room is so big that my husband can’t influence our sleep because he sleeps on the other side. The toilet is relatively small and has a little off-flavors.

Clean room. Nice location. Budget friendly. Staff is okay. Some are friendly, some are okay. Overall, great stay for a traditional Japanese inn.

Staff were friendly, but the owner was not, which is mostly there( not welcoming friendly at all). The location was good .overall, it wasn't good and not worth the money. I gave 3 stars for location.

It is a traditional ryokan where you sleep on the mattress on the tatami floor. The room (and everything in the hotel) is pretty dated and looks two centuries ago, but they are at least will maintained and clean.but room is HUGE by Japanese standard. You can easily sleep 3 pax without butt bumping each other. There is an option of getting in room dining and breakfast. These are all traditional Japanese home style cooking. Portion of the food is adequate and quality is fair. There is a public bath that opens throughout the night, which is perfect for sobering up after a late night drinking or jetlag. Staffs speak very limited English. Location is unbeatable though: it is right next to Hokkaido university botanic park, and a few blocks from central shopping area. There are several good restaurants nearby too. Room price is unbeatable though. Will be an ideal choice if you are on budget yet are afraid of youth hostel.

We stayed for two nights at Nakamuraya Ryokan and it was excellent. The location was close to Odori Park and convenient to where we wanted to go. We loved the tatami room, and both of us found the futons and pillows very comfortable. The public bath was clean, quiet, and relaxing. The breakfast was very reasonably priced with large quantities of food. The staff were very hospitable even though we are foreigners who don’t speak Japanese. Overall, the price was great for the experience, and if we were to return to Sapporo I would love to visit again.

Beeeest ryokan I've ever seen!!! Ultimate Japanese atmosphere. I wish I could stay there more. I will come back and stay for longer.Big Japanese room, I fell in love. The onsen is small but still good. Or you can use the bath in your room.

Yelp
Clean and hospitable Japanese style hotel. There's a private bath in each room as well as public bath on each floor with showers and a tub. Complimentary green tea in each room and hot/cold water was refilled every day. They help you set up the beds each day and give you fresh kimonos. They even served delicious mochi snacks when we first arrived. Convenient and close to Sapporo station and various malls. Only con was there was a bit of lingering cigarette smells in the hallways.
