Nakhoun Cafe, Restaurant & Farm Stay

This place is definitely a hidden gem. We did not stay here overnight and only came for lunch and a coffee but would 100% come back. We took a Tuk Tuk from the city just to get there after we saw pictures on Instagram and our expectations were far exceeded. The vibe was very cool and chill, the view absolutely amazing and the owners extremely nice. Although rice season is over and most of the fields were already harvested, the scenery was still amazing and definitely worth the drive. The food and coffee were also great and very good value for the price! We ate Pad Thai and mango sticky rice - very yummy! 10/10 would recommend!

This place was amazing !! I stopped there on the way back from Kuang Si waterfall because the place was recommended by my hostel. The place is quiet and peace, the view is really nice and the cats are adorable. Prices a definitely correct and it’s a way to escape the noise of the city The family was really kind they helped us restart the scooter which was out of battery I recommend it 100% !

I’ve had a perfect afternoon at nakhoun. After the waterfall tour I wanted something to relax, good food & with a lovely view next to the rice fields. And all that I found at nakhoun. I chillexed for hours and felt super comfortable. Staff super friendly & helpful. Mango shake, veggie springrolls & papaya salad are delicious. The view is amazing

If you want to escape the noise, dust, and over-touristed parts of Luang Prabang, stay here. It’s only a short ride from town, yet it feels a million miles away. The atmosphere is incredibly peaceful and relaxing — the perfect place to truly unplug. You can stop in for coffee or a meal, or stay a few nights like we did. This family-owned café and guesthouse is as special as the family who runs it — genuinely kind and welcoming. The food and coffee are excellent, and the highlight is enjoying them while overlooking the farm. The views are beautiful and unforgettable.

Location is away from the centre so you’ll need to hire a bike but it’s such a beautiful ride out so peaceful and so worth it. It takes about 30 mins max on bike. You can stay here for hours, chill on the hammocks, walk around the rice fields, chill with the kittens and dogs and the food is tasty and well priced, the staff are lovely. I’m so happy I took the trip out. It was so relaxed and I could have stayed for hours but I had to get the bike back. I would recommend this place 5⭐️ if you’re in Luang Prabang, definitely go. There is also a little place you can stop off nearby to see a few temples too so makes the journey worth it even more than just this place alone. It’s truly beautiful and it’s often missed. There are also sockets to charge your phones. Don’t miss it! XO

I’m sorry to say that the food we had was unfortunately far from the best. The papaya salad in particular both looked and tasted disappointing, so we wouldn’t recommend ordering it. That being said, the place itself is lovely with a really relaxing atmosphere — a nice spot to take a break on your way to or from the Kuang Si Waterfall.

We had a great time at the farm stay of the Nakhoun Cafe! After having delicious hot drinks on the terrace facing the beautiful rice fields, we decided to stay spontaneously for a one night. The room was simple but had charm and nice balconies. The staff was really helpful and the communication in English was easy. The cats and dogs living on the farm were adorable. We were lucky to be there during rice harvest and the staff offered us to come with them to see how it is done. We helped them a couple of hours and got rewarded with a free meal with the whole family and workers. It was one of the closest look we had into Laos rural lifestyle so far. Thank you very much for this experience! We recommend the Cafe to any traveler passing by :).

Stunning views, yummy food and great vibes! If you’re looking for a nice chill cafe out of town, this is the spot to go! You’ll need a bike or other form of transportation to get there, as it’s 30 minutes from the main town, but it’s worth the afternoon trip. The staff were lovely and the food was yummy. They have a range of local and western style food. I’d recommend the Luang Prabang steak a s the Cavasa (local chips).
