We didn't enjoy Bali very much in the beginning, mostly because we started our trip in super touristy Ubud - had only we known about Nakula Familiar Inn earlier, our whole Bali experience could have been so much better. Unfortunately we had only one afternoon and night there, because our flights to Sumatra were already booked. |Nakula Familiar Inn is a beautiful place with really nice rooms, ours even had a cozy balcony. The bed was super comfy. The courtyard is beautiful and idyllic with trees and plants and the house temple. |But what made our stay really special was adorable Adi, who owns Nakula Familiar Inn. She is such a sweet woman, who will try to make your stay as good as possible. Even though we stayed such a short time, it felt like staying with a close relative (the nice kind of close relatives). |She replied to my booking request via email almost instantly (which is so rare in Southeast Asia) and made sure we got up in the morning and found our driver. When we said we wanted to go for a massage, she just called a friend to come to our room and the massage was really great and not expensive at all.|The neighborhood is one of the few places we found on Bali, which wasn't crowded with tourists. You can find lots of little shops, warungs and foodcarts nearby. Much more authentic than Ubud for example. |So if you wanna stay with a great host in an area, which is not touristy, choose Nakula Familiar Inn. It would also make a good homebase for day tours around the island. We loved it!
