In the Maldivian language of Dhivehi, Naladhu means beautiful, and there has never been a more apt name for a place, although to be honest that is an understatement. This island is stunning! |My husband and I chose Naladhu to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary, and it was the best decision we ever made. The island is so peaceful and the villas luxurious. We stayed in a Beach House with Pool and it was beyond compare. It was so well appointed and comfortable, with everything you could possibly need. The Nespresso machine and milk frother were a personal favourite. The ability to visit the other islands of Veli and Dhigu was wonderful as well, because it opened up the ability to try all the different restaurants, and was indeed one of the things that originally drew us to stay here. Everywhere we went the food was so delicious. The Living Room on Naladhu, and Baan Huraa, the Thai restaurant, were our favourites; the first time we went to the Thai, the lady who seated us even had the care to sit me in the right direction so the breeze didn’t blow my long hair in my face whilst I was eating! A small thing but so very thoughtful! In fact, from the moment you step through arrivals at the airport, to the time you go through immigration on the way home, you are looked after by the amazing staff. Nothing is too much trouble for them, and you really get the feeling that they do genuinely care that they are doing their best for you and that you are truly enjoying yourself. They are not simply going through the motions, but are taking huge pride in the service they deliver. They are always there for anything you need but are never intrusive. So big shout outs to our Kuwaanus Mohamed and Ibbe; Shameem the resort manager; the lovely Yok, Lynn, Ouda, Faya and all the staff in The Living Room, and our House Boy T-No. The beautiful flower displays he left for us on the bed and in the bath were amazing and so thoughtful. On our first night we returned to our villa to find a lovely wooden sign on the door welcoming us home; on the last night a special table was set up on the beach for our evening meal, which was so sweet.|I could go on forever with our praise of this place and how fabulous it was, demonstrated by the 600 odd photos we took! Bottom line though, we wanted this to be the holiday of a lifetime to celebrate a huge milestone in our lives, and Naladhu fulfilled that tenfold. Our memories of our time spent there and the people who looked after us will stay with us forever, and we thank them all from the very bottom of our hearts. ❤️❤️
