Nalini Resort Bali

I hesitate to write this review because this waterfront hotel with stunning views is a tranquil, peaceful, hidden gem which I would rather the rest of the world didn't discover! But they deserve these accolades and more, so here goes: This is a family-owned place and the pride of ownership shows. It is spotless, as they are constantly cleaning. Nothing is too much to ask and they will organize whatever you want (such as snorkeling trips, cars, etc). They will do laundry for you at $6 per load. Massages were amazing at $12 per hour. Their chef is just spectacular (lots of people from other resorts were coming to eat) and she will give you a private cooking class at $25 per person, which includes your meal. (Be sure to try her "hot ginger fish"---it's unbelievable.) The fish is as fresh as you can get, having just been caught by the retired fisherman owner of the place. The pool is just gorgeous, also spotlessly clean, and there is terrific snorkeling immediately in front of the hotel (although entry via the rocky beach can be a bit challenging). Bottled water provided in your room. Air conditioning, comfortable beds, plenty of fluffy towels---there is nothing you will want for. The entire place is meticulously maintained; we loved the outdoor private shower. Everything is open-air, so you do have to contend with a bit of nature (depending on the season) such as caterpillars or lizards. The beds are equipped with mosquito nets but we didn't encounter mosquitoes during our February stay. Some rooms have stairs, but there are others that don't, and it's beach-level so it's good for people who don't want to climb all the stairs of some of the other Amed resorts. The upstairs waterfront honeymoon suite, which we didn't book this time, is spectacular and we hope to book it when we come back. Super-nice people with impeccable customer service. Note though that this is a child-free hotel! We anticipated exploring the rest of Amed but we loved this place so much we hardly left, and we extended our stay a day. The service was much better than the 5-star Moana Surfrider that we just left in Hawaii. You would really be hard-pressed to find something to complain about---I can't believe they have anything less than 5.0. And I'm not THAT easy to please; check out some of my other reviews for comparison! But we are definitely planning to return here next year. (PS I agree with everything Mr Judo says below)

We got a sneak peek at Nalini Resort's expanded restaurant. While they aren't taking overnight guests till 1-Dec., they served us a beautiful meal overlooking the water after we went snorkeling. Delicious fish tacos, chicken lemongrass baguette, creme brulee, and amazing carrot cake. Wonderful place.

We walked in for a one night stay asking for 2 rooms, which they happily obliged. Then 10 minutes later, they apologized that one of the rooms had already been booked online. So we ended up 3 people in one room. The location of this hotel is lovely occupying the beach front with views of the surrounding mountain hills. The stone beach is mostly occupied by colorful fishing boats. If you want to swim in the ocean don't forget to wear rubber shoes or fins if you want to explore the reefs off the beach. We didn't go, but many other guests enjoyed this. The place and the rooms are very clean. The beds are firm, but comfortable. Our room had a walk out bathroom with rainshower and a view to the sky. Very nice. The pool is small, but clean and have 3 availble sunbeds. There's more sunbeds next to the restaurant overlooking the ocean. The staff is friendly, however somewhat pre-occupied with chatting each other, so it can be difficult to catch their attention at times. The restaurant serves western and Indonesian dishes. The quality is fair though not remarkable. I don't think they have an espresso machine, so I mistakenly ordered a Latte in the morning, which looked and tasted like something made from a sachet. The Bali coffee is safe though. There's free parking for motorbikes and 4-5 cars next to the entrance. The hotel offers on site massage, which we did not try. All in all an OK stay for a short time visit to Amed.

We stayed for two days/nights. Upon arrival we received an upgrade from Mountain View to ocean view. I’ve never seen a bathroom like that, open air, spacy and luxury. The whole staff is very nice and makes you feel welcome anytime. The best part besides incredible sunrise views: The food. Every meal we had was top notch, the taste amazing. We highly recommend this place.

Amazing location to chillout for a few days in slightly secluded part of Bali. Small, beautifully maintained boutique resort of 8 rooms, ocean view swimming pool. Wonderful genuinely happy and super helpful staff. Lovely locally sourced fresh food prepared by a talented and extensively trained chef. Recommend booking 1 of the 2 ocean facing rooms you will not regret the extra dollars spent. Highly recommend, will return.

Wonderful small resort right on the beach. Only 8 rooms so not too many people around. Food is absolutely amazing- an extensive menu and so fresh and tasty. It was so relaxing and everyone is so friendly we didn’t want to leave the resort for a few days. The rooms are really comfy and clean and the staff are really helpful and beautiful Balinese natured. We felt welcomed and relaxed the whole time. Just be warned it is a few kms out of Amed main town and down a very rough road so best not to plan too many trips - just stay in and enjoy everything the resort has to offer

Amazing 5 days staying at Nalini Resot, each morning was provided with a delicious breakfast with multiple options to choose from. the location was out of the main town Amed, but is a nice drive to town. Picture is of the beautiful view we had each morning during breakfast.

Nalini is in an excellent location, right in front of the Japanese sunken ship, but I believe their food should be equally celebrated as one of their main attractions. We stayed here despite being initially unsure about the location, but once we arrived, we realized this place offers everything you could want in one package. It's serene, with delicious food and a stunning morning view. Even if you don’t stay here, I highly recommend giving their restaurant a try.
