Great food and love that they let you refill your Pho with more noodles for once (and L size orders). Apparently their wings are pretty popular since many people order it. It's great with lots of garlic and onion, very favourable. There's usually a short wait on the weekends, we came on weekdays and didn't have to wait.

Google
Food is excellent at this Unionville Vietnamese gem but not for what you might think. The non-traditional brisket with bone in dual style broiled and braised is unique but the star of the show were the garlic chicken wings (just go ahead and order the large portion, you won’t regret it) and the fried spring rolls (Cha Gio). The Pho itself is surprisingly mediocre. Still the stars are worthy enough to justify frequent visits. Service is professional if a bit cold and the value is not unreasonable.

Google
Beautiful and spacious restaurant. 2 rooms. Smaller one at the front left side is like a cute cafe. Really enjoyed telhe fried chicken wings. It's crispy and sweet sugary coated with garlic strongly infused. There's a lime juice sauce in the side if you want to tone down the sweetness. We got the special house pho with fresh noodles instead of the dry ones. It would be compared to dry pasta you boil in hot water va the fresh pasta noodles where you just soak quickly. The flavour was good but noodles were overcooked so missed out on the 5 star rating. Good clean place for big groups/ events. next time I'll stick to the dry ones. Menu tells me there are Some fusion dishes that would go nicely with alcohol. Will be back to try other dishes to compare to other viet restaurants.

Nam 2 is one of the first “new generation” Vietnamese restaurants that serve more than just pho. The food is quite good and the restaurant has an interesting them. Their beef brisket is quite juicy and flavourful while the appetizer platter is a good way to try different items. The only detractor is that I’ve been here twice and both times the food was very slow to come out. This time I arrived earlier than the lunch hour rush with just one other table of patrons though the food still took a good half an hour. Worth trying but have to be patient.

Google
This is a fairly large and nicely decorated place in the Peachtree plaza. I believe they're operated by Vietnamese people too so much more likely to be authentic. Their food is good, portions are average for the price. You can pay cash or debit only and with cash you get a slight discount. Reservations are only if you have a party of 8 or more. There's a beef and pork banh mi but not a chicken one. Still quite good. It was on a hotter day when we came and the AC wasn't all that strong so dress appropriately.

I recently visited NAM 2 in Unionville after reading some solid reviews online. It was also one of the only spots open late, which made it an easy choice for a late-night bite since they’re open until 2 a.m. The vibe when I walked in was great — clean, shiny, and modern. The atmosphere had a chill energy, and the staff were very polite and attentive. Service-wise, no complaints at all. The servers were friendly and made me feel welcomed, even though it was quite late. Unfortunately, the food didn’t match the quality of the service. I ordered a large bowl of Pho, expecting a rich, flavorful Vietnamese broth with a generous portion of noodles. But the dish was disappointing. The smell wasn’t very appetizing, and the broth itself was thin and watery — lacking that depth and richness Pho is known for. I’ve tried Pho at many different places, and while not every spot gets it perfect, this one missed the mark more than most. The noodles served were more like what you'd expect in a medium bowl, just placed in a larger bowl filled with bland broth. Overall, I loved the late hours, great service, and stylish setting — but for me, the food didn’t live up to the rest.

We had heard quite a few recommendations about Nam 2 , and also noticed that they mentioned being the first Vietnamese restaurant in the area to serve pho with bone marrow, so we came in with pretty high expectations. Unfortunately, it ended up being a bit underwhelming for us. Environment: Even though we visited during lunch and the place wasn’t completely full, the restaurant felt quite noisy, louder than a chinese restaurant, actually! I’m not sure if it’s because of the low ceiling or the acoustics, but one particular lady’s voice really echoed throughout the space, which affected the overall dining experience. Food: • #71 Pho Bone Marrow: The broth was flavourful but on the sweet side, it almost tasted artificially enhanced, which masked the natural richness we were hoping for. That said, the bone marrow, rare beef, and brisket were all tasty, and the portion of beef was generous.🤤 • #9 Bun Ga Nuong Cha Gio: The presentation was beautiful, the plate was big, and the portion size was fair. However, for me..the chicken had a noticeable MSG taste, the vermicelli was quite soggy, and the spring rolls were just average. One thing that might’ve affected it, the male server accidentally spilled fish sauce into my dish right before serving, which made the vermicelli wet and overly soaked. I thought he might say something or offer to replace it, but nothing was mentioned. I didn’t want to waste food, so I just went ahead and ate it. Overall, the experience wasn’t terrible, but it didn’t quite live up to the hype. I’d say it’s worth a try if you’re curious about the bone marrow pho!

Google
I absolutely love this place! Their famous dry wings are super crispy and packed with flavor — definitely a must-try. I also ordered the Banh Xeo and was amazed at how huge and crispy it was. It came with lots of fresh herbs and dipping sauce, perfect for wrapping in rice paper. Everything was delicious and beautifully presented

Yelp
Delicious pho and chicken wing. Service people were very helpful and friendly. Just parking was not enough.

Yelp
If you are a pho phanatic, you definitely should try this place if you haven't already. The deep fried chicken wings are a MUST order! It's so flavorful and it come with a zesty lemon sauce for dipping. So refreshing and yet tangy which changes the flavour of the chicken wings. The sauce pairs really well together. Try it for yourself. Order a chicken pho to share and the broth was flavorful with black pepper and a hint of sweetness. It comes with quality eggs and onions in the soup rice noodle. If you order the large, it comes with extra side of noodles. You need to request for the side of noodles so you can wait until you are closer to finishing as it comes with soup which may soak and soften the noodles if you prefer al dente texture. I've also had the bun rieu (crab) tomato soup base with softshell crab in vermicelli and it's my favorite soup noodle dish too. Definitely recommend this restaurant to satisfy your chicken wings and pho cravings.

Yelp
With so many viet spots popping up its difficult to determine my favourite one. Nam2 is still one of the contenders. Nam Wings - Crack seasoning on wings. So good. Would get again. Grilled Beef Vermicelli with Spring roll - Thick vermicelli, lots of crunch from peanuts. Spring rolls are fantastic with lots of meat and nice crisp on the outside. A smaller amount of beef. Beef Pho - Good amount of food for a small. Broth was hearty and beefy. Flavour was decent and simple.

Yelp
This place is busy especially on weekends. Put your name on the list at the side, get your feee tea and wait. Once seated the wait for service and food continues. They are really busy! The appetizer beef carpatio (sp) is good but quite expensive TBH-one and done! We also ordered the butter beef rice with egg and it quite good! The curry fish has good sized portions and it's really tasty without being artificial.

Yelp
We were trying to get something new that this restaurant looks so popular. The restaurant was so decorated that I would like to have a try. We ordered the soft shell crab noodles ($21) and also chicken rice($18.50). The soft shell crab was deep fried and separated on the plate, there was another plate of beef, and noodles in a hot stone bowl. I really love the soft shell crab, it was deep fried with egg yolk. The chicken rice was having a special dipping sauce fish sauce on the side. The chicken itself was tasty already, I didn't need the fish sauce. This Vietnamese restaurant was offering special Vietnam food. So the price was a bit high, but once in a while to try something new, it is still worth.

Yelp
March 1, 2025 - I got the Large Pho and split the dry wings with a group of friends after a volleyball tournament so we were quite hungry. You can really taste the dry wings seasoning; it was really good. It was also a beautiful restaurant. The ambiance was also very nice; it was decorated very well with the purple trees.

Yelp
December 22, 2024 - Love the decoration and the layout of the restaurant. It was quite busy, waited about 20mins to get a table. Only to find out that two of our friends were already there (seated) lol. The staff was very nice, Hannah (I believe that's her name) was very helpful and checked in on us. We ordered: #37 Tai #39 Nam/brisket #15 Butter Beef #69 The Dual/Smoked Rib and Braised Rib #1 Wings Cha Thai My friends who ordered the wings said it was very delicious and he loved the dip/sauce it came with. I liked the butter beef, it was good. Needed some spice. I added the condiments on the table which helped spice up the dish for me. The Cha Thai was good. Everything was pretty tasty.

Yelp
Food came out pretty quick. The only issue that we had in our group was for the price. The portions seem very small. We had a very long table that was shared with random strangers on either side, which is fine. There would be sauce and chopsticks between each group. The taste was average nothing to scream home about, but the wings was good just beware that it is lemon juice or or dipping not a sauce. We found that out the hard way. Definitely recommend trying the wings as it's pretty good for the price !

Yelp
I LOVE THIS PLACE! If you plan on going, expect to wait for a table. They have a table with tea and biscuits for those waiting which is very thoughtful. Another tip is to leave jackets that you don't want absorbing the fish sauce smell in your car haha. I've never been disappointed with any of their dishes. Their standout dish is obviously their dry wings. A definite must try!

Yelp
What, why does this place have such a low star rating? The lineup is always outside the door on weekends. It's soo popular! Would say that this is higher end pho so expect to also wait a little longer for your food. My dad and I got lucky and were chosen to nibble on the massive pork bones that they use for pho which they dropped off at our table "for free" LOL. It was quite an experience. I guess the prices are a little steep for the area but the food does not disappoint and the portions are massive. I really liked the overall experience and would definitely come back.

Yelp
My new favourite spot in the city! I arrived at 6:30pm and the line was short on a Saturday. The restaurant is quite spacious with nice decorations and attentive staff. I got the dry wings - medium size with 9 pieces and it was delicious. We also added the fries which came with a lot of aioli sauce. It was really juicy and highly recommend. I also got the Banh Xeo which is a thin pancake which comes with shrimp, pork belly, lots of veggies, rice paper, and a vinegar based sauce! It was delicious and a fun DIY where you get to make your wraps. A great shareable and a huge portion size!

Yelp
Nam 2 is an exciting Vietnamese restaurant in New Kennedy Square as they have a lot of unique menu items. I have tried a good number of dishes from them, but the most memorable dishes are the ones pictured, the Banh Xeo and Banh Hoi. They are not common to have in Vietnamese restaurants, but if you have not tried them, I would highly recommend them! Banh Xeo is a pancake like dish with a lot of veggies, and you create your own wraps with rice paper, pancake and veggies. Banh Hoi is like DIY fresh rolls. The dishes are very customizable and fun to eat! Of course, their more traditional dishes are good too like the Pho and Bun Rieu. However, I urge you to step out of your comfort zone and try new Viet dishes! The reason I am giving this place 4 star is that sometimes it is super busy and the service feels a bit rushed, and because I do think it is a bit pricey overall. If it was only the food I was rating, I would give this place 5 stars.

Yelp
By far my favourite Vietnamese restaurant. I personally had the Pho Bone Marrow, broth is amazing as well as the buttery bone marrow. I also had the Banh Xeo to share with my friends, this is my favourite item to get whenever I visit. The crape is very crispy and the filling is made with perfection. Be sure to have some friends for this as it is quite a lot of food. Service is comparable to many pho shops in the GTA. You are able to speak English or Vietnamese to them. I love the simple yet cultural aesthetics the restaurant has. As well as how big and open the space feels. High recommendation for anyone looking for amazing Vietnamese food!

Yelp
The dual meat combo was around 28$. One of my new favourite items. Loved that it came with jus. Would order again!

Yelp
Nam/Nam 2 is a restaurant I revisit regularly and hits the spot when you're craving bold, satisfying Vietnamese flavours. The standout is for sure the dry crispy chicken wings with lime sauce - which my friends joke are seasoned with crack! Sweet, salty and perfectly acidic from the lime sauce - be warned this is HIGHLY addictive. I also had the Bun Bo hue, and I thought the deconstructed approach was interesting. Mainly because you can see exactly how much meat and noodles you're getting, which was a nice touch. Broth had great depth and the flavours were on point.

Yelp
Went on a Friday afternoon and it wasn't as busy as before. Competition is obviously steeper from the choices available in Markham and Richmond Hill these days. It benefits patrons like me, and this is excellent! When you go Nam 2, both the chicken wings and spring rolls are truly must-haves. Crispy yet not oily at all. Absolutely delicious and very popular. Compared to other similar restaurants in the neighborhood, Nam 2's wings and spring rolls are definitely better in the way they make them. This time, we also tried the butter beef. The meat wasn't tender enough. It came with a sunny-side-up egg and a traditional Vietnamese egg meatloaf slice. The look was okay, and good for IG. But in terms of tastes, there wasn't enough wow factor. Try something else. Good place to eat. Less crowded than before. More comfortable and shorter lines and yes, you still need to wait for a table if you are not early enough. Still a recommended Vietnamese restaurant.

Yelp
The food at Nam2 is always 10/10. As we came in a group of 4, we were able to order more food. For appetizers, we ordered banh xeo, spring rolls, and mango salad. The fan favourite was definitely the banh xeo, which is always savoury! This was my first time trying their pho as well, which was delicious! Nam 2 would be 5 stars, but it is always a bit chaotic and busy inside, and can be hard to get the attention of the servers. Otherwise, the restaurant is very nicely decorated.

Yelp
First time here from Google search of this location with positive reviews. Parking - lots of parking available Ambience - nice decor and lit areas with some modern chairs at tables. Food - tried a few dishes. Chicken wings - the winner with great flavour. Crispy, salt, sweet and garlic taste. Must get! Small is 5 pcs, medium is 10 pcs and large is 12 pcs which is what we got. Bun Riêu - was ok. Did not have a lot of flavour. Chicken on rice - good portions size, chicken was moist and on point. Smoked rib - was tender and meat came off the bone. Great flavour for the rib. Pork vermicelli - like other places and can't go wrong. Grilled pork was good with the deep fried roll. Beef stew - great flavour, not too salty and tender stew that broke apart easily when eaten. Service - the experience that was disappointing. Not sure if there was less staffing but saw 3 mainly servicing the whole restaurant that was pretty busy. Table given with menu with a paper and pen to write down our order for the server to pick up to put in. We were a group of 7 and our food came in different times. The smoked rib came first but the pho with soup came last. Asking for additional service, had to go look for someone to assist including the bill to pay then go to the front to pay with a line up or a take out container to take remaining food home. Possibly it was a one off for experience and try on another day to see it is better.

Yelp
Bad service with mediocre food. We got spring rolls and pad thai during our visit and we did not have a good experience. The pad thai was too sour and I found a piece of rock in the spring rolls. We told the waiter about the rock and the waiter just took away our dish without saying anything (no apologies whatsoever). After a few minutes, they brought back a new dish of spring rolls. I was disappointed about how little they cared about having foreign substances in their food and barely acknowledged it. All they did was bring back a new dish which felt like they just wanted to cover it up. However, they didn't say anything about bringing a new dish or making sure this type of thing never happens again. I do not trust their cleanliness anymore and will probably never visit again.

Yelp
Cannot believe I haven't written a review for this one yet. I will not lie, I have NOT had their pho. But I have had a lot of other dishes and I'm definitely a fan. Service wise, it's pretty fast once you've ordered. Generally there's a wait to be seated and you have to write your name and table size on a paper at the front. No one greets you so just get your name down and step to the side. The front gets packed with people which is super annoying. I wish they'd just come up with a better system to manage this. And they don't take reservations or anything. Onto the food: Garlic chicken wings are delicious. They add a sprinkle of sugar to the top, and then a lime juice dip which is oddly addicting. I almost always get the same thing now - the Bun Rieu which is a tomato soup base with crab and pork and vermicelli noodles. It's so comforting and perfect in every way. I don't get the soft shell crab with it because I don't find that as flavourful and I just don't really need the addition. My partner has ordered their vermicelli buns and pho many times. It's always consistently good and we're very happy with our meals. Sometimes at night, they'll scoop out the beef knuckles that have been simmering in their broth for hours and just gift it away to random tables. We were lucky enough to enjoy this one night and holy smokes the flavour on that thing is unbelievable. I don't know if we'll be lucky enough to have that again, but I sure hope so. Parking is a freaking nightmare sometimes, but that's not really their fault. The parking across the curb are almost all reserved for some reason. It's okay. walk the extra steps and build up your appetite.

Yelp
My friends and I were regulars at Nam's OG location at 16th and Leslie in Richmond Hill. We kept going until we noticed gradual decline in the quality of food and service until COVID pretty much turned them into a takeout only spot (by that time, there were already a lot of competitors that were offering a better experience). Which is why, I've put off visiting Nam 2 for the longest time. Because I believed it's glory days were well beyond it and by the time my friends and I had stopped going to Nam 1, the only (still) good items they were serving were the banh mi and broken rice. The pho had basically gone downhill to the point where you got a small heap of noodles and a couple tiny slices of beef but the bowl was just 95% broth. Fast forward to Victoria Day weekend, one of my friends convinced me to try Nam 2 because he told me they had WAY more items than the other competitors in the area and it was a larger resto. He also told me that service was reminiscent of when Nam 1 opened. But what REALLY convinced me was he told me that Nam 2 did a beef rib pho where the rib was prepared TWO ways instead of one. I couldn't believe what I was hearing (and my curiosity got the better of me) so we stopped by for dinner. I think we waited like 40-50 min for a table as it was PACKED. I had one friend who still frequented Nam 2 quite a bit after we stopped going to Nam 1 and he told us that even outside of Victoria Day weekend, the lineup to get seats was nuts. Dry wings: We ordered some of their famous dry wings and they came w/ lime dip. The wings were really good. Idk how they get the batter to be so light and crispy but I think I could definitely mow down like 25+ of these by myself LOL. Lemongrass pork & chicken broken rice: My friend ordered this and he wasn't particularly satisifed which is ironic since we believed it was Nam 1's best item by the time we gradually stopped frequenting it. There were stingy with the portion of meat they gave him. He was also supposed to get a runny egg with his order but they forgot it so he waited for a good 20 min before it arrived. When it DID arrive, the egg was overcooked and the yolk was already popped so there was just a bit of yellow on the top (we all laughed). Needless to say, he wasn't that happy. Grilled pork vermicelli: The pork vermicelli was a good portion size. I decided against ordering it because I had another friend tell me his whole group got food poisoning after having the grilled meat here. I had one daredevil friend who ordered it up and 0 complaints. Crab bun rieu (w/ hot stone bowl): A friend ordered this and he was pleased with the broth's taste. The soft shell crab was fried well but he wished that they seasoned it instead of just frying it and sending it out. However the hot stone bowl kept his broth piping hot so he thought the extra couple bucks was worth it. Pho dac biet: One friend ordered this because we all didn't trust that the quality had returned. His pho dac biet had a LOT more noodles, a lot more meat and the broth was insanely beefy. It reminded me of Nam 1 when they first opened. The Dual (smoked rib and braised rib) pho: This was my order. This was the REASON I decided to give Nam a 2nd chance. A beef rib done two ways?? I had to come check this out for myself because most viet places are only serving it one way (stewed in the broth). I'll give them this. THE BEEF RIB WAS GREAT. Two preps. Both done equally well. Super tender meat. Super moist. However, I was letdown by the light beef soup they served it with. I was expecting to be served the same broth my friend got with his pho dac biet. The ultra beefy broth. This broth was so light it almost tasted like chicken soup. No flavour. I wanted the heaviness. ALL OF IT. So that was disappointing. On my return visit I'm going to request and see if they can just give me the regular pho broth. In my opinion, that would make this dish worth the $30 they are charging. My two fave beef rib pho at the moment are at Pho Anh Vu Richmond Hill and Dear Saigon at Midland. This double prep beef rib pho gives them a GOOD challenge for the money but it's the most expensive of the 3 and because Pho Anh Vu actually gives me the real pho broth I still gotta award them the edge. Service was MUCH better. We obviously haven't been to Nam 1 anymore for all the above reasons listed but it felt to us as if the whole original staff almost migrated to Nam 2. Literally reminded us of when Nam 1 opened. For all the praise I've given Nam 2, I'm not giving 5 stars because the value prop is just too stiff for them by surrounding competitors. Portions are debatably still shrunken from when they opened Nam 1 and they're also higher priced than their competitors for similar items (aside from the dual beef rib prep which I think is worth the money). I'll return for that beef rib pho most likely (and I'm asking for the heavy/rich broth).

Yelp
Delicious foods especially appetizers. Apps were the highlight of the meals. Fried chicken is a must try. Beef carpaccio and fried spring rolls were delicious. Special pho was usual tasting. Rice with chicken and pork chop was good, rice is the most delicious rice I've had from a viet place. Ambiance is very aesthetic and good for pictures. Service was good and fast.

Yelp
Came here for dinner with my family. We called in to join the waitlist but still had to wait quite a while when we arrived because the restaurant was so busy. The restaurant actually had quite a few tables and had a vibrant vibe. The food tasted great! My mom really likes #69 on the menu, which is pho with some beef (not pictured). The beef was super juicy and would definitely order again. My sister really liked the Vietnamese vermicelli noodles - great flavor and fresh. The chicken and pork chop rice was tasty as well! Would recommend and come again! I heard great reviews for the Richmond Hill location so would definitely try going there next time.

Yelp
Been here before and just wanted to add more reviews. Recently I tried their new item on the menu and it was good. It's "The Dual", which is smoked rib and braised rib comes with pho and onions. I really like it and the broth is light and tasty. The only complaint is the spring rolls. It's expensive with what you are getting. Although it still tastes good. I still like coming to this place and they are always busy during the peak lunch and dinner hours.

Yelp
Finally made it here! I've been going to Nam 1 for many years so I wasn't in a rush to try Nam 2 but my friend raved about their Bun Rieu (rice vermicelli tomato sour soup with minced crab meats) so I was eager to come visit after hearing how it was prepared very differently from Nam 1. Both my friend and I ordered the Bun Rieu with the side fried crab. I was a bit disappointed that they didn't have the side crab that day. The Bun Rieu was prepared in a hot stone bowl with the soup bubbling as it was served...okay, they definitely took this dish to the next level..wow! If you get this dish, please be patient and let the soup cool off a bit before eating it. I did burn my tongue slightly so I will definitely wait next time! The soup was so flavourful with a good mix of herbs, tomatoes, tofu and crabmeats. This is my favourite Vietnamese soup noodles and if you like this dish too, you must come try it at Nam 2. The noodles and veggies were served separately and you add these to the soup yourself so that it won't be overcooked. Now that I realize the menu differs from Nam 1, I will definitely be back soon!

Yelp
I hadn't been to the original Nam location in some time, but was pleasantly surprised to hear there is a Nam 2! I went around 1pm and it was still busy. I waited about 20 minutes or so. It's pretty cute inside with the feel of being sort of outside with the faux trees and string lights. We ordered the chicken wings, which were so perfectly crispy, garlicky, and the sauce was delicious. The chicken wings were a perfect mix of salty, with the slightly acidic sauce and a bit of sweetness. We ordered the banh xeo, which is a Vietnamese rice pancake stuffed with bean sprouts and pork -and shrimp. The banh xeo has turmeric which gives it its colour. You can also really taste the coconut milk in the pancake. It was perfectly crispy, and they give you a bunch of herbs and lettuce to put inside the thin rice paper as a wrap. It was so good.. might rival the one I had in Vietnam. Lastly we had the banh canh cua which is a tapioca noodle in crab soup. I haven't seen this available at many places so I was excited to have it here. I love the chewy texture of the tapioca noodles and you can definitely taste and see the crab bits in the soup. I think this is one of my favourite Vietnamese spots in Markham!

Yelp
I recently visited Nam 2 with friends and was impressed by the spacious, beautiful, and clean interior. The servers were kind and attentive, adding to the great experience. I ordered the pork chop and egg (#19), and it was not only delicious but also impressively large. I've had this dish at other places, but none compare to the generous portion here--plenty of rice and two big slices of pork chop. We also tried the wings (#1), which might just be my new favorite. They were perfectly sweet, savory, and crispy. Highly recommend!

Yelp
Food is very average, soup feels watered down. The service is also not very good. Ambiance is pretty good though.

Yelp
My out-of-town visitors had a craving for Vietnamese food so we tried Nam 2 in Markham, based on a foodie friend's recommendation. They were relatively busy when we arrived for lunch but we managed to get a table near the back. The decor was nice, kinda like a garden, with plants, and strings of lights hanging from the ceiling. Their menu had lots of choices and it took us a few minutes to settle on the following: - Rare Beef Pho - Pork and Spring Roll with Vermicelli - Chicken and Spring Roll with Vermicelli - Pork Chop on Rice The food was pretty good, with good portions. The pho was quite flavourful, so were the other dishes. The meats were all tender and moist, perfectly cooked. As good as the food was, there were a couple of glitches. The pho was served without the traditional accompaniments - bean sprouts, basil leaves, etc. They brought it once we got our server's attention. The pork chop on rice should have been a combo of pork chop and grilled chicken. It arrived with two pork chops, no chicken. Although it wasn't exactly what I ordered, I didn't want to wait for them to correct the error so I ate it. Despite the minor glitches, the food was really good.

Yelp
Came here for dinner with my family and it was pretty busy. They have a good selection of food and everyone raves about their chicken wings. I had the tofu pad Thai which was okay. Definitely needs more vegetarian options

Yelp
Such a cute spot in Markham for Vietnamese food! I heard about Nam from friends before so was excited to try Nam 2 with a friend. We went on a weekday for lunch and there was lots of seating but still quite busy. We ordered a few dishes to try: Chicken Wings - Really enjoyed the chicken wings. They were fried and topped with lots of garlic and onions so beware if you don't love garlic. It was good and would definitely order this again. Bun Thit Nuong - I always try pork and spring roll vermicelli at a lot of restaurants. This was okay, I felt the pork was a bit too fatty for me and also dry. Maybe an off day but I probably wouldn't order this again. I also ordered it for take out a second time and it wasn't anything special. Bun Rieu - Had this with soft shell crab both once at the restaurant and for take out. Really loved this. A lot of restaurants can't make this dish right and I'll have to say it was done really well and the crispy soft shell crab is a nice touch. It's a large portion, I couldn't finish it. Would definitely come back for lunch or dinner again if I'm in the area.

Yelp
FANTASTIC food explains the long lines at the door! But truly love the food here: from Fried Chicken Wings to the pho -- it's all flavour-packed and good portions. The space is large (there are two dining rooms) and spacious but still fills up! Tip: Get in line virtual faster using the Yelp App!

Yelp
Very busy place with very good Vietnamese food. Their chicken wings are excellent. The Pho and other dishes were delicious. Went there in multiple occasions during my stay.

Yelp
First things I noticed was how aesthetic the restaurant was inside and how busy it was. Highly recommend checking in on Yelp early to reduce wait time. Now the food. The wings were amazing! Very similar to the ones from Phnom Penh in Vancouver for anyone's that's tried it. We also got the bone marrow pho ($22.5) and the butter beef ($17). Both were delicious although the bone was pretty shallow so there wasn't a lot of marrow. I would probably try a different pho dish next time as it was pricey for the amount. If you're looking for slightly fancier, modern Viet restaurant, you've come to the right place! Expect to pay a bit more than your traditional pho restaurant.

Yelp
Nam 2 is a very popular Vietnamese restaurant around this area. There is usually some wait if you come on weekends and during popular times. They used to do a virtual waitlist which was nice, but has gone back to the old fashion pen & paper waitlist (which is not ideal when you're waiting with a baby). So you often see people crowding around the entrance waiting. However, the food is delicious with the wings being a standout. The decor is a touch whimsical and fun. I would recommend going during at off peak times to avoid a wait.

Yelp
Cute interior, salty pho. The interior of this restaurant is such a vibe! Super adorable with a lot of hanging string lights, perfect for a first date. The food and service however, can use some improvement. You order from a QR code, multiple phones can add to the same cart to place your order so no need to pass your phone around the table. Shortly after getting seated we ordered our food, but realize no server has brought us any tea or water. It was also really hard to flag down any server throughout our entire dining experience here. Onto the food: Dry wings 10/10 Super crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. The outer coating of the wings is to die for, sprinkled with some sugar and so flavourful. It came paired with the perfect dipping sauce of lime juice. Highly recommend! Bun Rieu with soft shell crab 8/10 A nice tomato soup blend that comes with a whole deep fried soft shell crab on the side. Lacked toppings/ ingredients in this bowl though, it was mostly noodles and soup. Pho bac 3/10 Beef pho is perhaps one of the most popular dishes people usually opt for when dining at a vietnamese restaurant but unfortunately Nam 2 did not hit the spot with this one. It was completely over salted and hard to eat. It came with one tiny piece of tendon and one tiny piece of tripe. Overall, lacked everything in terms of toppings and noodles. It was mostly soup. It also did not come with bean sprouts or lime on the side (herbs were already added into the soup when it came) and again took a while for us to flag any staff down to bring us some. Overall, I think the restaurant has some room for growth as some dishes are really delicious while others need some work. 3 star review mainly for their lack of service here and their prices being higher than other restaurants, while the quantity of food is not there. I'd be back for the wings though.

Yelp
Got a table for three right away on a weekday around 11:40am. It did slowly fill up afterwards. Ordering is done through QR code now but you can still request for traditional paper menus if needed. We got an order of 16pcs dry wings and fresh roll to start. The chicken wings now come in different sizes. The wings are amazing as always and I love the lemony dipping sauce. There are wings with tips and mini drumsticks. The fresh rice paper rolls were quite standard. Dipping sauce was good. For the main, I got my usual rare beef and beef ball with dry noodle. I think they do tend to give you more noodles if you get the dry noodles versus the fresh rice noodles. My bowl had a nice ratio of meat to noodles. The broth has depth and flavour. Nam2 is definitely one of my go-to places for pho.

Yelp
Guys. I am summer-obsessed with this place. With the days getting hotter & hotter, I'm finding myself craving more natural & refreshing foods. With that said, I love ordering the bun vermicelli here ($14). They have beef/pork/chicken options. Each bowl is packed with veggies and complete with a spring roll. All the meats are marinated & grilled to perfection. The flavour packs a punch! I like that they call them "vermicelli salad bowls" hehe. So much healthier. The next item I like to treat myself to is the Banh Xeo pancake ($18), a nice share platter. There are giant posters of it all over the place. It's basically an egg pancake, accompanied with pork belly, bean sprouts and herbs, and sweet fish sauce. They bring you the platter, then you diy. I enjoy this platter so much because it's a hands-on experience and so engaging lol. I think the egg is made with fragrant coconut oil, because that is all my mouth remembers when I go home, leaving me craving more. So yum~ Lastly, can I just say.. the decor in here is absolutely stunning. Relaxing dreamy rainforest feels for me~ and just to complete the vibe, I wish they replaced the Just for Laugh gags with some Vietnamese tourism videos or something. Not complaining too much, I mean I love JFL too. - Skip the line!- They utilize the Yelp waitlist here! Either join the waitlist ahead of time via Yelp app* or use the Yelp Waitlist tablet at the door. (*recommended on weekends) - Order via QR code- Each table has a QR code. No sign-up required. Everyone can use their own phones to add to cart. If you ask, paper menus are available. - 12% tips included- Pay at the front when you're ready to go. They're so good, they can impose their own rules: 12% tips is added to the bill for parties of 2+. Pay by cash for 5% off. Tax is on top of tips (no choice, -.-) Cash or debit ONLY.

Yelp
Not your typical Vietnamese-pho spot Ambience: Upscale Vietnamese restaurant, when you enter and look around you, they have put high-effort to making you feel like a local. Parking: Lots of parking located in New Kennedy Square, be prepared to fight for parking cause there's lots of good restaurants here and when dinner time comes, be ready to go to war) Service: Long wait times, waited about 45 minutes for a table of 3, they are busy, had I known you can waitlist on Yelp, I would have but it was a last minute dinner decision. When we sat down we had to flag a server down for tea/hot water. Order from the QR code at your table. Rating: 3/5 Food: Pho Dac Biet (Restaurant special with rare beef, tendon, beef balls) Ordered with fresh noodles. Broth was good, but would not say great, was not overly seasoned, could have used more flavor. *Can pick between fresh noodles and dry noodles. Rating: 3/5 Bun Rieu (crab tomatoes noodle soup with mince crab and pork with mince eggs in noodle soup) Could have used more flavor, felt a little underseasoned compared to home cooking. Did not meet expectations on this one. Rating: 3/5 Banh Bot Loc (shrimp and pork clear dumplings) Topped with pork floss, cilantro, lettuce, hint of lime, crispy fried shallots. Thick wrapper, flavorful with the fish sauce. Served with fish sauce to dip. Rating: 4/5 Famous Dry Wings Crispy, savory, fresh. Juicy. Served with cilantro and topped with an onion paste. Rating: 5/5 Overall experience: For Markham pho it's not bad but does not hit the spot like other restaurants more west (re: jane and finch) Good date spot and food is good for the location, I wouldn't go out of my way to come here though Overall Rating: 3/5

Yelp
Really enjoyed the food at Nam2 and I really liked how everything was ordered through the mobile app that you scan a QR code for when you get seated! The dishes we ordered were: Pho dac biet Bun rieu (with soft shell crab) Garlic dry wings Spring rolls Everything was so tasty the wings were so crispy as well as the spring rolls! I really enjoyed the bun rieu with the soft shell crab. Would definitely come back again to check out the other things on the menu

Yelp
3.5 stars Came here on Canada day weekend and wanted to have lunch here with my family. I joined the Yelp waiting list and was 8th in line. 30 minutes later I was notified that our table was ready. The hostess behind the cash took us to our table, and got us hot tea while we went through our menu. To order you just need to take a pic of the QR code on your table and you can order whatever you heart desires! Upon walking, you can see the beautiful decor around the restaurant. It gives you modern Vietnamese vibes and I'm loving it. I've had my fair share of Vietnamese food as I am half Chinese/Vietnamese and mr. Tran is full Vietnamese. We ordered Vietnamese coffee, Vietnamese tapioca dumpling (banh bot loc), Vietnamese pancake (banh xeo), Summer rolls (goi cuon), deep fried spring rolls (cha gio) and rice with lemon grass chicken plate. Food came out within 10 minutes. Food was not bad, I mean I had better in my moms area down on the west end, but for Markham I guess it was good. The banh xeo stood out the most as the batter was crispy and had good coconut milk flavour, it would be better if they put more shrimp and pork in the filling though. Summer rolls were pretty decent compared to ALOT of Vietnamese establishments. Their pork was juicy and not dry like most places. Everything else was okay. I did like the coffee as it had a chocolate note to the coffee from the coffee brand that we also use at home. I would come back again, to try the pho. It's probably one of the better Vietnamese establishments in Markham after Pho metro.

Yelp
Delicious pho and crispy spring rolls! Portions were ENORMOUS. Also love the restaurant aesthetic! AND they had forks on the side so I didn't have to ask for one shamefully.

Yelp
Came in on a Saturday before the crowds. Pro Tip - you can get yourself in the waitlist through Yelp before even heading out! The restaurant has a nice vibe. We were seated in the little room next to the door on the left and it almost felt like we were sitting at a decorated wedding party. Lots of greenery and fairytale vibes. We ordered the dumplings, fried spring rolls, bun Bo hue and a smoked beef rib pho. The dumplings (banh bot loc) were very chewy and flavourful. The outer wrap is like a chewy tapioca - just be aware there's more wrap than there's filling. Filling is a pork and shrimp mixture. Very tasty and not very much of it. The spring rolls were decent. Well fried where it didn't feel too oily and it had a nice crunch to it. Decent amount of fillings. Bun Bo Hue had a nice variety of toppings with a flavourful broth. The portion isn't very much but it was just right for us. The beef rib pho was a bit underwhelming as the bowl was literally noodles with one rib in it. The meat was very good though but I almost wish there was a bit more to it? They also ran out of fresh noodles by about 6:30pm on the Saturday which was surprising as I was sure more people were going to be disappointed. Service was decent even though some of the staff did not really speak English. It made it feel authentic though lol. They only take debit or cash!

Yelp
I am giving a 4 star for my recent visit is just because I didn't liked the In-house Special Brisket Pho and wait time is a bit long ( over 30 mins for the food) Chicken wings are done very well, crispy and not too greasy. The lime sauce really enhance the flavour of the chicken wings. A great deal for the Tomato soup based noodle that comes with a whole sofft shell crab. Very tasty tomato soup, lots of flavours, you don't need to add any additional sauce to eat with that. Soft shell crab is a bonus and tasty when you dunk into the soup. I didn't like the In House Special Brisket Pho. It's just like having leftover roast beef with a bowl of soup noodles. It's not matching.

Yelp
Such a beautiful and busy spot with delicious dishes! Parking shouldn't be a problem since the plaza has a lot of spots available.

Yelp
Food and as yummy. I guess that's why they have been there for a long time. Chicken wings were yummy. Service is normal. Ambiance is fine. Nothing special. I can't wait to go back for more food.
