We had a wonderful dinner at Nama where we experienced the blind tasting menu which was a fun and exciting twist on French classics with Japanese and other Asian flavours. The host was very friendly and we enjoyed the element of figuring out what we were eating and his explanations after each course were great! Every course was delicious and we came away feeling full and satisfied which isn’t always the case with tasting menus! The cocktails were also very tasty. Would highly recommend for something different in Bordeaux

Very special experience when you have to guess all the ingredients and even wine. It does pull you into very interesting observation mode which helps to discover new flavors and tastes. Delicious set menu is perfectly balanced with wines. We got duck breast for main course and very intriguing rosemary sorbet with white chocolate mousse for desert. Starters you guess yourself, enjoy! The only thing that leaves you a bit confused is an interior which can still be improved.

The food was fantastic. It was a unique experience of blind tasting. We don’t know what the menu is until food is in front of us. The combination of flavor on each dish was wonderful. The chef is very talented. We had the 6- courses with wine pairing and every dish was delicious. I wish I discover it earlier so I can eat it 2 nights since menu is different.

Delicious French-Japanese fusion cuisine! We tried 4 courses menu and we really enjoyed it. Each dish was incredibly tasty, with a very balanced combination of French and Japanese ingredients! Also the presentation was accurate, modern and very appealing. Extremely friendly staff, happy to "play" with us (each time we were requested to guess the main ingredients used in each dish)! Relaxed atmosphere and good French wine!

Wow! Such an amazing culinary experience. We loved the creativity of the dishes and the concept of having to guess the ingredients in the dish. I wish more restaurants would implement a similar concept. It makes you work to discern the flavors in the dish. We paired our meal with the recommended wines/saki. So much fun. Highly recommend.

Beware the blind tasting menu! While the presentation was pretty, our menu had a lot of strongly flavored fish which is not our normal palate preference. We were there on a night where there was a large group dining and thus our service was slow and we did not always get explanations of our servings. This was a miss for us

A true foodie experience at Nama Restaurant Bordeaux. We flipped the usual ordering process and went for the Omakase, each dish a surprise, inviting us to engage our senses and guess ingredients through taste and texture. The Japanese fusion cuisine was creative and elegant. Our host was genuinely passionate, sharing insights into every preparation. Memorable, intimate, and delicious.

Yelp
Saturday night in Bordeaux.... You had better have a reservation because this place is very popular! We got there at 7pm and I'm glad we had the early reservation because it was a 3-hour dining extravaganza. Service is 5 stars! Absolutely top notch. We don't speak French and had absolutely no problem here. Notes.... 1) there is no menu 2) they can and do accomodate preferences and allergies... Love this since I'm lactose intolerant. 3) an open mind and an adventurous eater is ideal 4) be ready for an epicurean adventure 5) the chef is a creative food genius We opted for the 5-course tasting menu with wine pairing. It's a great deal for this high end dinner.... Total was 227 Euros for 2 people. Everything we had was good including the wine. But some were hits while others were... Hmm... "It's beautiful, but not my favorite". My favorite was the ravioli! It was non-dairy and seriously the best ravioli ever! The one thing that I found frustrating was everything was "blind". Meaning the food and wine were not described until AFTER you consumed it. Apparently, you are supposed to be good at guessing what you are consuming. After the first 2 courses, I was over it. I wanted to know what everything was before I started to eat/drink. But I played along to horrible results on my part since I got all the wines wrong and most of the sauces and seasonings. Oh well. It was still a really good dinner and an experience I will never forget.

Yelp
Wait staff gets 5 stars. Friendly, welcoming, and informative. The food falls just a little bit short, in my opinion. Some combos just didn't make sense, and nothing was outstanding.

Yelp
Nama is a Japanese/French fusion restaurant in which only a set of courses is offered, and you dont know what you will get. I assumed any premise such as this would offset uncertainty by offering absolutely delicious meals, and I was proven right! The food is amazing and the experience is enhanced by forcing asking you to identify the ingredients. They do tell you everything in the end and it's always gratifying to see that you have guessed correctly. I had a wine pairing to go with the food, and my pairing included a sake. All of the wine was exceptional and the sake proved to be the best pairing by far! The rest of the wines were all French, but not necessarily local to Bordeaux. The wine was done similarly to the food in that they did not disclose the specifics until after the meal, which I felt was a worthwhile compliment to the experience. They also go into a fair amount of detail about the wines which further added to the overall experience. The service and atmosphere were both what one would expect in an establishment such as this and the servers were all fluent in English, and so capable of providing the best experience possible. I highly recommend this restaurant and will certainly be returning should I find my way back to Bordeaux again!

Yelp
Had an amazing 5 course mystery dinner with paired wines. We had a great experience and were very impressed by the group of young Chefs. The service was impeccable and though I'm only in town a few days, I might need to go back again. The experience is so fun and a great date night.
