Yelp
My mom, my daughter, and I came to Dotonbori on a Tuesday evening to have dinner and do a little shopping. While we were in one of the souvenir stores, we asked where we can find a good okonomiyaki place and they suggested this restaurant, adding that there's always a long line. From the main street (where the big moving crab is), we turned into a small street at the corner of Starbucks, and then a right into the first street (I hope that made sense). The restaurant was easy to spot due to the obvious long line of people.
The restaurant is located upstairs, so there were people trailing from the restaurant entrance, down the staircase, and trickling out into the street. There was a sign on ground level that asked to keep the end of the line no longer than where the sign is, in consideration of the surrounding businesses. We managed to squeeze in at the end of the line (well, maybe a tad bit out). Aw yeah.
Surprisingly, majority of people in line were tourists from the States like us. I overhead that they found this place on Yelp, lol. We waited maybe 45 minutes or so before we finally got a table (lined up around 6:30p). A staff had already taken our order while we were in line so that we'd get our food in a timely manner when we got seated (we were not allowed to change it or add to it afterwards though). Between the 3 of us, we shared the Ajinoya mix okonomiyaki (1300yen), the regular size mix yakisoba (1300yen), the negiyaki (980yen), and the akashiyaki (560yen). In hindsight, 3 dishes would've been plenty...had to roll myself out of there, bahaha. Everything was pretty good, but of course, the okonomiyaki was the best out of all (I wouldn't say the best in Japan, but still tasty).
