Adopted two wonderful birds from here! They have classes for nutrition and parrot care that will help you get ready for your new pet. The way they have you visit your bird multiple times before adopting really helps you pick the right fit for your family and gives you time to get the cage and supplies. So happy with both of our boys and would definitely come here again if we decide to get one more! Amazing place, wonderful volunteer staff, can't say enough about the positive experience!

Made one of the hardest decisions I have had to make and give up my birds. I was devastated but knew the life I was providing wasn't fair to them. I talked to nana and her volunteers and decided to check them out and see if it was a place i thought they would be properly cared for. I was blown away! Every single cage was clean. Birds were quiet and content. Toys in all the cages. Proper diets per species were being given...and the people really care about the birds in their care. I knew this was the right place and the right thing to do. So my birds are with them now and I am sure a lot happier! They even offered to keep me updated on them...which i am thrilled to get the updates! Amazing place and people!

Nana and Papa's nest is an amazing nonprofit. Some of the birds they take in have the most heartbreaking back stories. They spend countless hours not only cleaning cages feeding and watering but socializing to prepare them for their perfect home! I admire the lengths they go through in the adoption process to assure the bird and the family have the best chance of success. They have a wonderful volunteer program. And I love that they volunteer their time to bring joy to places like rehab centers. If you're thinking or adopting, fostering, volunteering, or donating, I highly suggest reaching out to them!!

I'm currently in the process of adopting a feathered friend and I have nothing but good things to say about them. The staff and volunteers truly care for and love the birds. The staff takes a lot of time to make sure that the bird is paired with the right owner and that they have everything they need to successfully care for and raise a bird.

They do absolutely amazing work with the Parrots they take in. Dolly and her group have a true passion for the care of the birds. She has an adoption process to make sure that the parrot and adoptees are a good match. If you are even remotely thinking about getting a parrot, you need to reach out to this group.

These people are AMAZING! Their knowledge of handling and the caring for our precious family member is outstanding. The kindness and compassion they showed us when we had to give up our Parrot was outstanding. They made us feel comfortable leaving our precious family member in their care. God Bless.

First thing's first: let me state that I am a volunteer for Nana and Papa's Nest, so my perspective will be from someone on the "inside". When I first started a little over a year ago, I was amazed at how much Ms. Dolly knew about parrots. She made it very clear that this was not a pet store, and that many of the birds suffered from neglect, abuse, or abandonment. Fast forward to this June, and I approached my parents with the unthinkable: I wanted to foster one of the parrots. I chose to foster Fernando, a greenwing macaw who feel into a deep depression after his owner died. When Fernando first arrived at the rescue, he refused to leave his cage or talk. But with hard work, determination, and a lot of love, Fernando gradually broke out of his shell. With the guidance of Ms. Dolly, Fernando blossomed under foster care and was adopted on September 26, 2020. I don't regret bringing him home, I don't regret giving him a second chance. Sure you can easily buy a bird from a pet store, that's where most of our residents came from. But at the Nest, we're all about second chances. Our birds aren't perfect, they have issues, they've been through unimaginable trauma. But that's why we love them, and that's why I love my Nando bird ❤

These people do a wonderful service it is nice to know that sombody will take in these unfortunate birds. But I give it a three because they have a 80 mile range and I am at 120, I don't want to have to buy a new one when so many are available for adoption I don't worry about the money but I'd rather adopt one to a forever home!
