Nana's Westerly

I LOVE coming to dinner here. It’s seriously some of the best food I’ve ever had. Their veggie dishes always blow me away. Everything is cooked well and the menu is so creative. The space is intimate, but perfect for a small group.

A friend told me I needed to go here and I grabbed takeout while passing through town. I got the white sourdough pizza (added mushrooms on half) and it was amazing! Really thin and blackened crust, which I like, with crispy cheese. I also wanted to try the caramel miso latte and they were sadly out of that syrup, so I’ll have to return for that someday! The barista was super nice and made me an iced vanilla/ginger latte which was good too. Really cute space!

Nana's never disappoints! My new favorite go to place. Always fresh, locally-sourced ingredients & creative dishes like the Cucumber Raita w/ Sicilian olive oil and Row 7 sweet potato chips. Oh, and the delicious Margarita Pizza w/ fresh basil, high quality mozzarella on a scrumptious sourdough crust! 😋 Nana’s is truly a gem. Love it here.

Nana’s is always fantastic - the best pizza around and the menu is always interesting. The food is well thought out and perfectly made every time. Most recent visit we had the caldo gallego and it was amazing. Bakery items - particularly the sourdough doughnuts - shouldn’t be missed. The most interesting cocktail menu I’ve seen in a while. Service is outstanding and friendly. All in all, this place shouldn’t be missed if you’re in the area, and worth going out of your way for if you aren’t

The baked goods are very expensive for the size. I've dined in a few times and typically have a good experience, although again it is pricey for the quantity that you get. I tried their waffle special a few months ago and was disappointed. It came out cold and flavorless. Excellent chai.

Had another awesome breakfast. The Bacon Egg and Cheese was crunchy, chewy, and tasty all in one bite. The Tofu Scrambler was delicious and savory. And the drip coffee was fresh and balanced, we added oat milk. Will be back again!

I love finding whole in the wall places 😋 how can you go wrong with homemade sourdough donuts !! Seriously everything was delicious and the best espresso martini I’ve ever had! Cheers to happy birthdays

Can't say enough great things about Nana's Westerly. They deserve 10 and then some for service and food quality. Menus is ever changing with the seasons. Wine menu is small but ultra well curated with many small production, organic/bio/natural wines from small producers who care. The same goes for the ingredients they utilize to create each wonderful dish. Small local farmers who respect the land they use to grow. The pizza is amazing and that's coming from a person who lives in New Haven. This is not New Haven style apizza and I'm tremendously grateful. They are their own style of pizza with equally interesting and well paired toppings. The level of service and hospitality are elevated beyond that which you would find in bigger cities yet packed into a small nook of a space that compliments the New England small town feel of downtown Westerly much like every component and element of food they use to create each dish. This place is worth the drive from anywhere. We keep coming back season after season to see what's new on the menu.

Walking into Nana's feels like stumbling upon a secret spot (almost literally - you can easily miss it, it's a side door from Longo's - like a pizza and coffee speakeasy) where the local coffee nerds and pizza purists have found common ground. This spot is a study in contrasts - exposed brick meets sleek marble counters, while designer dome lights cast a warm, hipster glow over the weathered wood bar. It shouldn't work, but somehow, it does. The tomato pie here is a thing of beauty. We're talking about a crust that defies physics - thin enough to make you wonder how it holds up, but sturdy as hell. Pick up a slice and it stands at attention, no drooping, no surrender. The sauce is where they really show their hand - bright, vibrant, almost raw in its tomato-forward intensity. None of that overseasoned nonsense trying to mask subpar ingredients. This is very fresh tomato telling its own beat poetry story, with just a few fresh basil leaves playing backup. The coffee options aren't just an afterthought either. Including their homemade spin on coffee milk - comes at you strong and unapologetic, more like an actual coffee than the usual sugary taste point. The menu reads like a hipster's dream - Smashing Pumpkins, Rude Awakening, some concoction called Black Koji Flat White - but the pretension stops at the names. The staff actually seems to enjoy being here, delivering drinks with genuine enthusiasm rather than practiced indifference. There's a constant hum of activity - servers weaving between tables, baristas crafting drinks, pizzas emerging from the kitchen - but it never feels chaotic. The staff moves with purpose, always busy but never rushed, maintaining a rhythm that speaks to well-oiled experience rather than frantic energy. It's the kind of efficient hustle that makes running a restaurant look easy, even though we know it's anything but. What Nana's has pulled off is rare - a spot that's clearly studied the rules of both pizza and coffee culture, only to break them in all the right ways. The '80s new wave soundtrack (INXS's "Don't Change" fitting perfectly into the vibe), the cloth napkins, the real plates - it's elevated without being elite, crafted without being precious. In a world of either-or, Nana's is definitely both-and, and better for it.

Nana's Westerly is truly a gem! They offer Italian styled dishes with a twist; a lot of their dishes have honey in it, which honestly makes the food absolutely delicious. The restaurant is super cute inside, aesthetically pleasing for sure & you can feel the good vibes once you enter. What we ordered: -Sweet and spicy pepperoni pizza -Caesar salad -Two orders of risotto balls -Nana's Spritz -Beekeeper drink -Brown sugar cinnamon sourdoughnut sundae with matcha ice cream & coconut caramel sauce Everything we ordered was A-M-A-Z-I-N-G! The risotto balls were our favorite. Typically, I actually don't eat pizza much but the sweet and spicy pepperoni pizza from here is very good. It reminded me of hot honey so I really enjoyed it. I would definitely come back again in the future. If Nana's was closer, I'd most likely be here every other day haha. Good food, good people, good vibes... highly recommend checking Nana's Westerly out!

Drove 2 hours to make it down here, and we were not disappointed. Parking lot available right outside (free) and as we entered staff greeted us and we were seated right away. We arrived at 4pm which is the start of their Happy Hour menu until 5pm. Their staff is extremely nice and helpful with suggestions, recommendations and grabs stuff quickly. We drank the beekeeper cocktail and the Nana's spritz seltzer wine cocktail! Both were well balanced and turned us a shade of red haha I must say we LOVED the risotto balls, crispy, risotto cooked perfectly not overly mushy. Flavor was on point, the sauce with the Italian seasonings? Not sure what it was but it was FIRE so good. We got a second order. (3pc per order) The Caeser salad is a starter size and the lady liked it and ate it up like a rabbit! We also ordered a sweet and spicy roni pie. Now the sizing does not mean how many inches in diameter the pizza is, but rather Small = a neopolitan thin style Large = a thick Sicilian style We opted for the small style. Our staff ladies explained it to us before ordering! It was cooked well, dough was good to eat through the crust. The roni had a kick, i actually think if they used the seasoning from the risotto balls on top it would elevate it even more. We asked for parm, hot red peppers which they make in house and DOES have a kick, as well as in house fried crispy garlic in lieu of garlic powder. We called the night with house made doughnut (cinnamon sugar) with the days matcha choco chunk ice cream with caramel salt drizz? I forget but we finished it! Yum! Worth the drive, will be back as we also found out some friends live near by!

This little restaurant is truly a Westerly gem! The food was OMG good! The Caesar salad has a very unique flavor, it was fresh, light and delicious. Margherita pizza was absolutely amazing. Every ingredient was fresh and delicious! I am very critical of Pizza and Nanas was one of the best I've had. The food was so good. We made reservations for the following weekend. The interior of the restaurant is small but comfortable. It is nicely decorated and very comfortable. The service was fantastic. The whole staff shares in the service. I highly recommend this restaurant.

We love this spot especially early afternoons or after dinner for a coffee, a donut and maybe even a drink. They always have fresh food for all their meals and vet friendly service with a hipster vibe.

Staff are in the young millennial, gen Z mold of welcoming everyone as they enter and probably calling them friends. It is a welcoming environment with an interesting menu. Flavor of the food was quite good and made to order. The orechiette was a little more Al dente than our preference and the pizza was good flavor and thin crust. High quality pepperoni on the pizza.

What a great find! If you like eclectic this is the spot. Everything was amazing- can't wait to go back.

My mother and I had reservations and ate here last night. It was our first time, but we already made reservations to return for brunch on Saturday before heading back home from our vacay. The decor was lovely!!! Our server (Emily) was excellent--friendly, helpful, and attentive. We started off with the special mocktail and shared Nana's spin on caesar salad. It was even better than a traditional one! I would order this again anytime I return...or maybe I would make another trip in just to have the salad. Trust me, my praise is not an overstatement. The addition of the miso, carrots, and radishes made it! For dinner we both had the burger which came with fries. Yummy! If you are a foodie, or not, stop in. You will be happy you did!

A very nice, welcoming, and attractive eatery. After browsing downtown Westerly and Wilcox Park and Arboretum, we stopped in here for a warming cup of coffee and a bite for lunch. My wife had a caesar salad which was very fresh and tasty; I had a chicken salad sandwich with a terrific aioli which was very flavorful. A very relaxing and enjoyable spot!

Food - 4 stars Service - 5 Ambiance - 3 There are some great dishes. They excel with their baked items, like pizza. There's an emphasis on fermentation, which works better in some dishes than others. Pasta dishes have been very good here. I didn't love the smash-burger because the double patties were much too thick and very salty. The fish and chips were good, but the fries needed to be crisper. We've been to Nana's 5 or 6 times and generally liked everything with some dishes standing out, and others lacking a bit. Service is always excellent and pleasant. Ambiance is pretty nice, but it's very small inside and can feel cramped when busy. The bar seating is limited and can use some better lighting. It feels somewhat dark and cold. I really like this restaurant, even despite the occasional misstep. When they get something right, it's great. Slightly more consistent dishes and minor changes in ambiance would easily make for 5 stars.

Cute coffee shop! Salted maple iced was delicious and would definitely return! They were also super accommodating with our large group.

Great coffee with lots of syrup options. Ceasar salad was delicious, loved the breadcrumbs and how it mixed in with the parmesan. Chicken was well cooked. Friendly staff and great ambiance.

Love the atmosphere, staff, and the food! Amazing breakfast, would highly recommend! Had the sourdoughnut french toast which was like none other, and lemon semolina pancakes with a side occasionally bacon. Both very delicious!!

We regularly visit Nana's in Westerly, driving over an hour on the weekends for brunch, breakfast and lunches. The food is consistent, the menu frequently updated, terrific service, and great vibes. All around great spot.

This is a hidden gem. It is downtown but hidden in a parking lot. Inside is really cute and cozy, and is a perfect date night for a coffee. The server we had was really nice and attentive. The chai latte and squash drank were amazing! When I'm in town I will be returning for another coffee drink. We ordered slices of pizza. I enjoyed the dough and sauce. It was a little greasy but cooked fresh to order so it came out nice and hot.

A friend recommended Nanas Westerly when I was visiting Longos last night, so I had visit for brunch! Let's get to it! The food: *Egg-in-cheese sandwich. Farm egg, crispy cheddar, kale pesto, lemon aioli on a Portuguese english muffin....uhm... delicious! I've yet to meet a piece of bread I didn't like and having this Portuguese English muffin made me realize I've been missing out! Low-key sad. The cheese is actually crispy (I mean who doesn't love crispy cheese?!) and offers a nice texture contrast to the fluffy English muffin and creamy pesto-aioli. The pesto hits on the front of this sandwich but the citrus notes in the lemon aioli hit you on the back end of the bite. I can't say enough good things about the Portuguese english muffin. The muffin is just fluffy goodness. *The vibe: Nanas Westerly is not only offering great dishes but also giving all the aesthetics and some great tunes. Check them out for dinner or lunch, I know I will be! *parking: there's neighboring street parking and a parking lot directly attached to the restaurant. *service: The service here was quick and the staff were very accommodation. The bravas sauce was subtle but delicious. -the chai was light in flavor, but I enjoyed it. -We shared a cinnamon sugar donut...wow! That was delicious! -The servers were busy but inattentive. The restaurant was only about 1/2 full. -very cute place! 4 stars Marc -Rhode Island coffee milk and mushroom toast were enjoyable, but didn't blow me away. Family total 16.5

I think I found my breakfast spot. Everything I had today was amazing. I'm a bit ashamed of myself because I don't think I caught our waitress's name but she was sweet and attentive. We started with our breakfast beverages and I got my large earthenware mug of chai. Hubby had a nice strong coffee. He ordered the nana's breakfast platter. Comes with 2 eggs, 2 slices of toast, 2 slabs of bacon cooked 2 different ways, and a deep fried potato patty. I ordered the SeaCoast Mushrooms over whipped ricotta on a slice of toast. Everything was topped with an egg with crispy garlic garnish. Wow! The flavors! The ricotta was so smooth and creamy like a crème fraiche but tasty like cream cheese. I've had many dishes topped with crispy fried garlic but this was among one of the tastiest and strongest tasting fried garlic that I've tasted. Hubby also loved his meal. The real star of the show was the chia pudding. Our waitress was super thoughtful and split the pudding into two dishes. Oh my goodness it was so delicious. Hubby ate 75% off it before he even touched his breakfast platter! It's creamy oat milk, perfectly soaked chia seeds, it was topped with oatmeal and toasted seeds. Then it's finished with fresh fruit and a drizzle of fermented honey. Not too sweet at all. Just perfect. Today it was topped with paper thin slices of crisp apples. I wouldn't be surprised if this pudding is ordered EVERY SINGLE TIME we come here for breakfast!

The staff is friendly and helpful. On several occasions we have gone there for Sunday brunch and have enjoyed both the quiche and the pizza. Go there just for the coffee drinks. They are amazing.

Went back to this place for the second time and it did not disappoint. Consistently great food and all fresh and organic ingredients. Can't say enough about this place! I would eat here everyday if I lived closer!

The food is really good and it has pizza and salads on a very elevated level. I really recommend the Milanese and the risotto balls, although they are a little spicy. The servers are nice and the service isn't too slow. The cocktails are really good so cheers to the bartender. I love the modern vide it has. All around I really love it

First the good, friendly staff, clean interior, nice decor. Good strong coffee. Next the not so good. The food sounds appealing on the small menu but it's slow to come out and loaded with salt, I mean really loaded and I like salt. The others in my party agree from plate to plate too much salt. High prices accompany a cloth napkin and modest portions (especially the fries on a nearly $20 burger) poor climate control. Mix drink menu looked good but we were there for lunch. Go for coffee donuts and pizza and you'll probably have a better experience.

A little hole in the wall off the beaten path, I figured I would try it out. A bit pricey, and limited menu but tasty nonetheless.

Dec 2023. Finally got the nerve to try the pasta. Keep in mind I AM the virtual Pope of orthodox Italian pasta on the east coast - and beyond. Italian American places are the same level as Olive Garden to me. So this young, brash unusual place with its strange un Italian but excellent pizzas is also as strange and excellent with its somewhat quirky pasta. Home made pasta very apparent in texture and taste. No doubt. Mushroom cream with lemon and pork cracklings etc. blew my orthodox mind. Nothing Italian even close - except for the insistence on the best local ingredients and max flavor. Weird stuff but I would eat here every night tho - except my own cuisine remains the greatest (as modestly stated as I can ). Saw they offered a puttanesca too. With local hake and other mind blowing things too crazy for me to deal with - today. I'll be back tho. Excellent place. Great vibe. Cool staff and very pleasant.

Our son has been telling us to come here ("best pizza in RI!) and we finally did and it was amazing! The pizza is indeed as close to NY pizza (I am from NY) as it gets and the eggplant appetizer and the Caesar salads were distinctive and wonderful. Service was friendly and laid-back and ambience charming. We will be back!

Great service great coffee wanted to give this place a second chance since the last time I had breakfast here I felt like I was eating straight grease. Similar to a recent experience I had at sift... I come home with a fritter with a hair baked inside. I am giving up on bakeries here...

I have always been a fan of Nana's. I found my last visit to be rather disturbing. This was based on the interaction I had with my waitress. I was insulted by my waitress when I asked her a very simple question. She then told me off by cursing at me and being hostile and disrespectful. And she did it in front of an audience of her coworkers. I reported this to the owner via email. I wanted to contact him first so he could respond and explain perhaps what happened that day. His response, although seemingly sympathetic, did not take actual ownership for his staff member's bad behavior nor did he explain why, perhaps, this even occurred in the first place. He suggested that he hopes to see me in the future at his restaurant. Why would I do that to myself? I am really nice to people and tip well. I deserve to be treated better. Especially at those prices. I want to see Nana's succeed, but this behavior permitted by the managing partners doesn't make me want to root for this place when I get treated like this. I feel really embarrassed. I really rooted for you all in the beginning with my Facebook, Google, Instagram, and Yelp reviews. The demographic that can afford this place won't put up with this type of nonsense from staff in a restaurant. Losing loyal customers is the fastest way to run a business into the ground. You have something special and you are ruining it. Do something about it by reading this and responding here with a solid statement this time. Show the world what Nana's is made of by being awesome!!

If you're looking for small plates with a keen attention to detail, this is a clear choice. With an open kitchen, you can observe the chefs hard at work to prepare each dish. The sourdough donuts are to die for, with my personal favorite being the lemon sugared donut. The cocktails are refreshing, the coffee (especially the Oaxaca) hits the right spot.

I came here for brunch with a group of friends on a Saturday morning. We were able to get a seat inside and were greeted right away by our server. Their drink menu was pretty large with a lot of different options, both alcoholic and non-alcoholic. I got the matcha latte and thought it was delicious. They had a somewhat small food menu but all looked delicious. It was all quite expensive in my opinion for what you got. A egg and cheese sandwich, no meat, was $9. The food was good, but for the price I was expecting more. Overall it was a fine visit, just expect to spend a lot.

Came this morning. I think I was expecting more of a bakery. They had a few (very few) baked goods and they serve some breakfast items. I got the egg sandwich but unfortunately it was so oily I couldn't eat it-My hands were absolutely covered in the oil they put on it. Not good at all. The focaccia I picked up might be some of the best i've ever had though! I brought My husband the Sea Coast Mushroom toast and he said it was good. Might not rush back for breakfast but will certainly be back for more bread...like soon, really soon.

Aesthetically, I love the airiness of this establishment. The staff is pleasant and attentive. After coming from my doctors appt., I always treat myself regardless of the results of the appt. Basically, she told me to go vegetarian- which resulted in me getting a side of bacon. It tasted so good, though it was quite meager.( It was half a piece for$3.) I almost started to order more but that would've been pure decadence. I ordered the sourdough French toast. It had honey butter( I LOVE honey butter but this one not so much. It tasted waxy for me. ) There was a jam topping( a little sour for me) and a delicious granola topping w chia seeds. Also I ordered a medium roast coffee w oat milk that is so good. This alone would keep me coming back, along w the nice staff.

WOW! We had such a fun time at brunch here on Sunday. We chose to sit at the bar/counter and we are so glad we did. Hayley/Hailey (not sure how she spells it) was amazing. She made this experience so fun. From her amazing cocktails, to all the knowledge we gained by listening to her train others on how to make some of the cocktails - it felt like we should be paying a fee for the bonus class we got. We were all about it, and even got to try one of the cocktails after they made it - The Matcha Colada. It was the perfect ending to a great meal. The space is new to Westerly, it just opened about a week ago. They have their original restaurant in Mystic and brought the concept across the border to downtown Westerly (the historical part.) The interior is well laid out. Bright, clean and airy. The kitchen is an open-concept so by sitting at the counter - you definitely feel like part of the action. I got an espresso martini - Incredible, and for my meal I got the Nana's Breakfast plate. Two local eggs, slab bacon, homemade sourdough toast and homemade jam. DELICIOUS! Check them out, you won't be sorry! More about Nana's - With a new location in Westerly, Nana's is an organic bakery and pizza shop and bar, offering naturally leavened dough using regional and sustainably grown grains. We bake our breads and pastries fresh daily after a long, slow overnight cold fermentation to develop flavor and improve nutrition. Using the fantastic mold koji, grown by our sister company Moromi Shoyu, we leverage flavor and amplify umami in our pizzas, drinks, and baked goods. Came for dinner around 630 on a Friday night; the restaurant was crowded but seemed to thin out by about 7pm. There is parking in the back and on the street, another parking lot is a short walk away. The interior is gorgeous, food delicious with unique pairings and flavors and beautiful presentations. We also had a kale and bacon pizza which we thoroughly enjoyed. I overheard the waitress mention the kitchen had gotten backed up with take out orders but we had No complaints and can't wait to be back.

Food, Service and Ambiance were excellent. My wife and I went to Nana's on a Saturday morning for an eat in breakfast. I have the Corn meal pancakes and my wife had the Mushroom toast which was homemade bread topped with an egg, mushrooms and cheese. We both tried each others dish and we agreed that both were awesome, very fresh and delicious. Coffee was also excellent and the service we great. Great experience!

Went there for lunch. Love the vibe here. Super friendly staff. They have all these great coffee drinks it was so hard to pick one. I'll be craving the Italian chopped salad for the foreseeable future.

First time here and it was the best breakfast place . Loved everything about the egg sandwich .Great flavors , fresh homemade sourdough bread w/ fresh bacon from the farm and well everything was just awesome. Loved it!

Go before you can't get in. This place opened March 2022 according to wait staff but it is dialed in! We had the white pizza with ricotta and being from the New Haven area, I wasn't thinking it would impress but it was delicious, crispy, fresh. We also got the Caesar salad and the pullapart garlic bread - insanely good. We brought our 4 year old (she was the only little kid here) but they accommodated my request for pasta with butter and my kid has never eaten so much at a restaurant. Wait staff was great, speed was perfect. I wish I'd had a drink - they looked amazing. Next time! We got the cinnamon sugar sourdoughnut as dessert to share - come on. So warm, fresh, did they make it that second? Coming back whenever I can!

Tried Nanas, again... The first time I went there it took 45 on a slow night for a pizza. It was pretty much the same this time. A long wait for an overpriced slice of pizza. Though I didn't get it because I left due to a ridiculous wait for ONE slice of Pizza. One slice. Two cooks behind the counter. Four other servers.... Serving Two tables of two..... So, after waiting about 5-7 min and never even seeing a pizza or a slice go in the oven to warm up, I asked if they were already cooked. I was told sometimes, and sometimes they do them to order. Then waited another five minutes and left. Didn't even ask for my money back... Nanas-Never again.

Great atmosphere and food! We had a nice cozy spot by the window, and our waitress was very prompt and attentive. Our coffee came in cute little mugs, and our food was plated nicely. It was a positive experience, and I will definitely be back!

Nana's exceeds all expectations. This is one of the best restaurants I've been to in RI and I considered moving to Westerly just to live next door to Nana's! Come here asap! You will be obsessed.
