"A noodle bar at the beach? Yes, please. Nanbu serves Japanese preparations with Southern ingredients and flair. Open for lunch Tuesday through Sunday from 11 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. and dinner from 5 p.m. until 10 p.m., this restaurant doles out bento boxes, ramen, sushi, and more. Don’t miss the Nanbu Noodle Bowl filled with Kurobuta pork, collards, and corn — the deep broth tastes like it has been simmered for days." - Travel + Leisure Editors

Wayne(host/waiter) was our guy on this food adventure. 5 ⭐ for him on this visit . My 16 year old son discovered this place while on vacation and had to take us there. Needless to say, it was a HIT! This is a cozy place with a great atmosphere. The menu has too many great things to choose from for one trip. We feel good about our selections. The 🍶 sake flight was wonderful...I really enjoyed the chance to try the different flavor profiles in one sitting. Oh, the food was delicious and shared by all. We loved this place!!

Google
I had the Faroe Island Salmon Poke Bowl 🥣 Filled with rice, ponzu, tangerine, pickled beets, ginger, scallion, cucumber, avocado and wasabi peas.. it was absolutely delicious! Wait was minimal, staff was friendly, price was modest, and the atmosphere was laid back & relaxed. Stop by when you’re near Grayton Beach 🏖️ #florida

Man I don't know what happened. Been coming here since 2020 and the last 3 times I've went were just plain weird. This is my tuna roll that they rolled for me. $17. Also why are they so big now? Used to be my favorite "cheap" place to eat on 30A after working all day. Wayne if you're reading this, you're great. This is nothing against you our family has loved the staff but I'm just sick of the inconsistency. From undercooked pork dumplings to poorly made sushi rolls.

Google
Took my wife on a date and had a great experience. The waitress was amazing from her cocktail making skills to her positive energy. The sushi and Beef Bulgogi were a hit! Highly recommend trying this establishment out.

Google
Good Food and Amazing service. We brought our 5yo and baby with plenty of options for kids to eat. Parking can be tight depending on the time and day. The portions are larger than expected. Would recommend to anyone who enjoys Asian cuisine. We ordered from lunch menu, sushi isn't served till dinner.

Google
My review got removed accidentally 😢 I really enjoyed my meal at Nanbu Noodle Bar. The food was great, highly recommend the Ramen. My only comment is the broth was a little sweet for my taste, I tend to prefer a more traditional salty broth. The décor was fun and well done. Even when busy there was plenty of places to sit and get a bite to eat. They served a nice variety of Sake and Japanese drinks. For those who prefer there was also high quality bottled sodas. I loved this place and would happily go back if I am in the area again.

Google
Quaint shopping center and eatery. Service was wonderful and attentive. We enjoyed the appetizers very much. My favorite appetizer was the pork belly buns, they come in two per plate. I ordered the spicy tuna poke bowl. It was a bit dry. My husband ordered the beef bento and thought it was ok too, not something he would order again.

Google
A hidden gem! It’s been excellent each time. The sushi rolls and poke bowls are really. Try the Grayton Sunburst Roll. They also have a great selection of saki.

Yelp
This was our first time visiting Nanbu. We were excited trying a new ramen place. From the other reviews this place seemed to be a decent place to try ramen at. We ordered the Sake Maki rolls to start with. For $18 you would think the rolls would be larger. The pieces were small but, at least the salmon taste fresh and didn't smell fishy. Wife got the Nanbu Ramen which had a really sweet broth. We've had plenty of ramen all over the US and this one can be considered a dessert ramen with how sweet the broth was. The broth overpowered everything else and we couldn't overlook the sweetness. I got the Beef Bulgogi rice bowl. Nothing to rave about. Some of the meat was juicy and some were overcooked. The pickled cucumber and rice were the highlights of the dish. The kimchi and carrots did not bring anything to the table. Definitely a Japanese fusion place that needs a little bit more work. Left hungry and wanting more so we went and got Chicken nuggies from Mickey D's lol...

Yelp
Everything was amazing! Service, food, ambiance! Soso delicious, definitely recommend checking it out!

Yelp
No complaints about food. Chicken ramen was amazing. Bao bun was amazing. Dumplings were amazing. Everything was amazing. 10/10 recommend! Only issue was we came during lunch and had to wait for our food. The service was great though. The ambience was extremely nice. Everything was extremely trendy and adorable.

Yelp
Really innovative dishes in a small, intimate setting. Nice staff and the food is some of the best you can find in the area.

Yelp
When you arrive this is a super cute little local spot, very friendly, warm and inviting. Service is super friendly. The food is just ok at best. We had: Wings Shrimp tempura bento box Pork ramen Salmon poke bowl The wings were ok. Super sticky sauce and a bit of a charred taste but otherwise ok. My son has the salmon poke ball, and he said it was good. The shrimp tempura and California roll in the bento box was really good. They also serve it with stir fried veggies which neither myself if my daughter liked. They have a sauce that taste like a combo of soy sauce and sugar. We also didn't like the salad which had pickled cucumbers and a ginger dressing we were just not fond of. The part we found the most disappointing was the pork ramen. The broth in my opinion had no flavor. We didnt even eat it. The broth tasted like water and oil with maybe a hint of bouillon. The pork belly in the ramen, however, was delicious. My daughter was put off a little too because they put the seaweed in the ramen using their bare hands We spent $65 and only ate 1/3 of our meal due to just not liking it. Would I recommend... sure. Service is great. I would encourage you to maybe order small and see if you like it as well. Would I return.? Probably not. I'm leaving with $65 gone and still hungry.

Yelp
Awesome experience! Thai, Japanese food and drink. Reggae atmosphere for lunch. (Dinner menu is entirely different) We had Chicken Ramen and Pork Ramen. Each came with a side of either miso soup or ginger salad. We both had the ginger salad and could have made a meal of it. The Ramen dishes were well presented and tasty. ... there was plenty to take home Drinks- selection of beers including Thai beer and Red Stripe. Also teas, craft soda, and Saki cocktails They do need better signage. Unless you know where they are you will miss them. Will visit again when in the area

Mack W.

Yelp
Please see attached photo. That is the $8.50 Boba Tea on Door Dash next to a 16 oz. water bottle. Haven't tried my food nor the tea, don't need to as this 100% warrants 1 star, would be zero if possible. Nanbu...who is looking at this cup of Boba Tea and going "yes, customers will gladly pay 8.50 for this, they will definitely come away with a positive experience." Local to the area and will never patronize this restaurant, I will pay whatever I need to for quality and new experiences, this is a scam.

Yelp
Went in during our visit week before Memorial Day right when they opened. We were told to sit wherever we like. The space looked cool and casual. There was one server and he was pretty on top of every thing. Food was ok. Pork belly was kind of tough. We ordered a kids stir fry. Our 4 year old took a bite and said it was spicy. We sent it back because it was spicy and was given noodles without the spice. Well it turned out to be just bland boiled noodles. I ended up mixing the noodles with the ponzu sauce from the dumplings we ordered. My hubby ordered the bulgogi rice bowl and didn't finish it. I don't think we will be returning.

Tommy W.

Yelp
Amazing food and amazing cozy setting . The appetizers were phenomenal. The wings and bao were the biggest hit on the table . The shishito peppers and all the ramen options were amazing. The sake selection has been the best I have seen in a long time

Joella D.

Yelp
Food service and atmosphere are amazing. We did take out today everything was packed with care and was ready promptly for pickup. Staff was so welcoming and took great care of us at checkout. The food was incredible. Everything we ordered was outstanding. Ramen, rice bowls, sushi and appetizers. Every item was so tasty.

Brent S.

Yelp
They are not open until 10:00pm. Our party of 4 drove 20 minutes to arrive at 8:45 & was told they are closed. Other customers were eating but we were turned away.....

Terri M.

Yelp
Service is always great. Noodles are always a go too. Nice restaurant that has some of the next door artist Andy artwork in there.

Stephanie F.

Yelp
Great ambiance! Amazing food! The Nanbu Noodle Bowl our server recommended is the definition of Japanese with a southern flair! Pork buns were great! That spicy tuna roll is nothing like you'll get anywhere else! Pretty impressive sake selection as well. RUN, don't walk to get you some!

Chet P.

Yelp
Went here at night(dinner menu) and it was amazing! Sushi and dumplings were fire and staff is very friendly. Highly recommend

Nicole G.

Yelp
I was craving noodles so my bf and I stopped by and the ramen was great! It was so delicious because of its sweetness and a little spice too. It had pulled pork which was different but I enjoyed it. I also shared a poke bowl with my bf and it was good. I think the rice and cucumbers were made differently from what I am used to but it wasn't bad just not my favorite. Overall, I enjoyed the atmosphere of the restaurant. It was very relaxing and our waiter was very kind too. I think the ramen was the best and I would need to get it again :) Ooh and I loved the decor and art they had on display!

Talya S.

Yelp
The ambiance is fun in this small scale restaurant that provides big taste! The pork belly is AMAZING! For Asian fusion, it's one of the best I've been to. The best part of the ramen I had was the pork belly but I was hoping for more traditional ramen flavors. Service was great and friendly. I would go back, but do prefer other places for traditional ramen.

Biodiversity L.

Yelp
My husband & 8 year old son love their ramen & popcorn. We're back for our 2nd visit!

Queenie W.

Yelp
Stopped here for lunch on the way to Seaside. This place is located by Grayson Beach. Cute and clean interior. Great food, good service and fair price. Highly recommend.

Caroline K.

Yelp
OH. MY. GOSH. If I could rate this 10 stars I would. There are no words for how good this ramen was. I got the Miso Pork ramen and substituted corn for the mushrooms. I'm not exaggerating at all when I say that this was the best pork I've had in my entire life. I wish I lived nearby so I could eat here every night, and I implore anyone in the area to drop by and try it!!! ( I also got some bubble tea! I've had a lot of bubble tea, and this is some of the best!)

Kakky A.

Yelp
I'm so sad I live 14 hours away! I would eat here at least weekly. This was my favorite meal the whole week after going to popular seafood places where all the sea food was fried or just honestly, gross. I think we tried the wrong places. So my friend and I branched off away from the family one evening and came here and left so happy. Also the waitresses were all so nice and kept the water coming on the hot evening. This area is adorable, get there early so you can also shop around in the near by businesses.

Vince I.

Yelp
This place is a gem. One of my favorite places to eat in the entire area. They have great drinks, ramen, sushi, and a killer atmosphere. The staff is always friendly and welcoming. We have a great experience every time we've been. Don't pass it up. You won't be disappointed.

Melanie S.

Yelp
Good ramen and a variety of food on the menu! The vegetarian dumplings are delicious!! Average pricing! Very cute, but small, noodle bar! Great service!!

Uriia H.

Yelp
TO GO ORDER: Anyone who enjoys ramen knows that you have to scratch the itch when you crave it. This place was close to our beach house so I ordered it to go. The outside of this place is sooo cute...the staff member brought the food out to the car and was very bubbly. Lol. I ordered the ramen with pork. The broth wasnt my favorite but the pork was good and tender. I especially enjoyed the collard greens...and thats saying a lot seeing this was not my mother's. This was my first time getting ramen to go so I was worried about how it would be packaged. They packed it really well..putting the broth in a different container. I simply had to add the broth to the other bowl and poof..got myself some ramen! The portion size seemed small for the price..but that seems to be a trend in Santa Rosa.

Peter S.

Yelp
Amazing food with plenty of vegetarian friendly options. Great service in a friendly environment.

Chelsie B.

Yelp
Cool "little" space for ramen for this area. The pork ramen was pretty good but my husband didn't care too much for his chicken. The service is what gets me here. The server was friendly but was the only server working. We were very patient with her bc we noticed she was alone but she forgot to put in our appetizer and really did not apologize or seem to have any care at all that we didn't get them. Of course it was removed from our bill but just a simple apology would have sufficed because like I said I noticed she was the only server. I would definitely go back and have my ramen again and hope for a bit better of an experience.

Missie K.

Yelp
Friendly knowledgeable staff. Pleasant atmosphere. Fresh hot delicious food. I can't wait to go back!!! I ordered the pork belly ramen, it's was perfect for the cold fall night.

Gregor B.

Yelp
Amazing food. Great ramen. Tempura not soggy! This was a wild card driving 14 hours from out of state but it was absolutely worth it.

Sharon L.

Yelp
Not good. Ordered two noodle bowls while we were in town last year and thoroughly did not enjoy the ramens. Unfortunately, there aren't better Asian places around. Will not be returning

Ashleigh B.

Yelp
Such a cool little place! We had the dumplings as an appetizer and then both ordered the Miso Pork Ramen! Everything was delicious and the server was very attentive! I will say that they played an assortment of rap and hip hop music really loud which we didn't really mind but it didn't fit the atmosphere. And made it hard to have a conversation. I'd definitely still go back for the food!

Monica M.

Yelp
This place is just so delicious!! The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable of food. I will be back to try more things on the menu!

Jack K.

Yelp
So good don't ever play on them. The miso pork ramen is 12/10 and the service is good especially for the fact there's only ever been 1 server every time I've been. The inside is cute and a lot larger than you'd assume from just seeing the exterior, but sometimes the music can be too loud. A must try in grayton

Jessamyn B.

Yelp
Never did I think I'd find such rich, delicious ramen at the beach. Speaking of rich, you can definitely split this if you're not starving because it's so rich.

Jon D.

Yelp
Let me preface by saying I'm taking this as though I didn't live in Japan at all and just tasting the food for what it is. No reference to authenticity. I need to stress... this is not authentic at all. It is a stand alone! Miso - definitely unique. Had a bit of a sweetness to it and a lot of tofu! Not bad. Wife didn't like it. Soba stir fry w/ pork belly - wife loved it. I tasted it, Udon was really good for most likely being pre-made. Pork belly was amazing! Bento box w/ salmon teriyaki - Salmon was amazing! Dumplings, awesome! They were very meaty! I didn't eat the salad, but it looked good. White rice.. it's white rice. Can't really mess that up. The roll, spicy tuna, was great. Only criticism on the roll is the addition of sriracha. This made it almost gross to dip with soy & wasabi. Take away, great place! Wish there was one like this up by us. But if you're coming for authentic, you're wrong. It's great as it is. Don't come with expectations and you will be blown away.

Brooks R.

Yelp
I really love the atmosphere of this a little place. It's a great place to meet up with friends for drinks and small plates. Probably the best sushi on 30A and the staff is extremely nice and helpful. Highly recommend.

Alex H.

Yelp
My family and I went here for dinner tonight and loved it. The shrimp tempura roll was one of the best that I have ever had. The pork belly steamed buns tasted like nothing I had had before. They were sweet and really good! The ginger salad was so yummy and tasted super fresh! It's a bit expensive for the portions. Overall, it was super great!

Rachel P.

Yelp
So here's the thing, we got our food to go, so it's harder to determine what a true rating would be. That being said, the food was good. My biggest issue was portion size. I'm pretty sure that I only had three shrimp in my entree of curry ramen. I probably won't be back if I'm being honest, but it was clear that they cared about the quality of the food and it was tasty enough.

Tyler H.

Yelp
This place is $$$ for what you get! My wife ordered the veggie rice bowl and I ordered the beef stirfry. The beef sir fry is so tiny for $17 the rice bowl wasn't too bad at $12. We did a pick up order and they charge 18% tip even if you pick it up. I think people forgot what tips are for. I'm all about tipping my waiter ,but not for putting something in a bag kinda ridiculous. On top of that they asked for another tip when you check out. I think all the restaurants do it around this area in Santa Rosa.

Luke M.

Yelp
Just ate here with family of 4, has two serves of dumplings, 3 kids meals (as the ramen was such a hit) and two beers for $80 which is great value especially in this area. Cool little location, food was high quality, service was great, and we took the leftovers home! We got there just after it opened which was good because when we left the place was pretty full (as it's relatively small). Would definitely go back.

Scott L.

Yelp
Funky little noodle place with great sushi rolls. The ramen is a bit of a twist. I had the fried pork belly and it was delicious.

Logan D.

Yelp
Wings are amazing nanbu maki stir fry incredible Wings are amazing nanbu maki stir fry incredible

Kristen Z.

Yelp
Ordered take out and everything was perfect! Order was ready when I arrived, all utensils, condiments, and napkins were included. Make sure to check your receipt as the 18% gratuity is automatically charged. As a local, I usually dine in but have been ill and really was craving ramen and they came through!!!! Love u Nanbu!

Brittnie F.

Yelp
Such a cute place. I had Nanbu for the first time yesterday and it was amazing. Excellent service and wonderful food. Highly recommend give this place a go. They have a large menu as well, lots to choose from.

John G.

Yelp
Great meal, everything was good and everyone was pleased. Third time, second as carryout and we're big fans.

Nate B.

Yelp
We were at South Walton High School for a tournament and looking for healthy food in close proximity. Excellent food and service.

Milo B.

Yelp
Twelve out of ten pork belly!! I got the pork belly-steamed buns and the Miso Tonkatsu ramen. Both exceptional. The pork buns were extremely tender and well balanced. The salt, fat, and acidity ratio was perfect. They added a semi-sweet pickle to the pork bun that was essential to the dish. Best pork buns on the Emerald Coast. Next was the ramen. At first I thought the broth was not quite rich enough; however, once combined with the rich noodles and amazing pork belly, the flavors became evident. Everything was well thought out and executed. The waitress was so professional and nice. She took care of everything, even split the check in a very specific way upon request. Five star waitress. The ambiance is casual and family friendly. Great music and well decorated. You could come in a business suit for lunch or your swimsuit after the beach. A stop you MUST make.

Ganeish R.

Yelp
We finally tried this restaurant and we were not disappointed. We came in the evening just after sunset and opted to sit outside because inside was a little too cozy for comfort with the crowd. We ordered a number of dishes and were happy with them all. Even though we sat outside the servers were extremely attentive and brought out our food and drinks promptly. The ramen was very good and flavorful and the Sushi was great. I would definitely stop here again when feeling for ramen.

Rachael P.

Yelp
The pork belly steamed buns are amazing. The flavor combinations within the steamed buns were overall immaculate. I was so sad once took my last bite. I could eat their steamed buns forever. I also had the miso pork ramen, which was good, but wasn't my favorite. The pork in the ramen was amazing, however, I felt like the pork was carrying the rest of the dish on its back. I felt like something was missing from the ramen, but the pork itself was delicious.

Mei L.

Yelp
I stopped by because i didnt want to get American food. The restaurant is pretty small. The decoration looks pretty nice inside though. But big parties might have tight space The price is expected to be on the higher side, but i wish the quality reflects it. The pork belly bun cost almost $12 for 2 pieces but the meat was dry. It needs some kind of sauce. Same for the chicken wing. It's not crispy at all, like the skin is just soft and it got slathered in sauce. I use that sauce for the pork belly. None of the dishes impress me. I was especially disappointed with the Nanbu noodle bowl. I was expecting a good mix of Japanese ramen and American twist. The menu said pork shoulders, i got something that look like brisket look wise? No one told me about the change. It was super sweet. Collard green would have been a warning but i wanted to try anyway. And i dont know why they skimp on the broth, not like i want more cause mine was super sweet as well. It's like they use the sauce for the meat for the broth. Very syrupy tasting. The broth barely covers the noodle for all the noodle dishes while it's such a big part of ramen and give you a feel of how well the restaurant does their broth. The bulgogi stir fry noodle is average too. The meat is marinated the same way like my noodle bowl. My dad said it was too salty for his taste. Im a big ramen fan and got ramen everywhere i go. I asked for chashu as usual and the waiter didnt know what it was.... I guess i expected too much cause i was craving Japanese ramen and i usually order without any prob. I didnt finish my bowl. The spicy bomb couldnt save it. Just keep these in mind. One of the waiters was very nice but the other one not as much.

Julia S.

Yelp
Had some delicious chicken ramen after a busy day of driving around 30a. Love the little, quaint buildings in an unassuming spot near Seaside. Would definitely go back again!
