I have been to Nando's many times around the world - Australia, US and now UK. Australia seems to have the best of the three, and it's always solid. In the US, my one experience was dreadful. Now, visiting one in the UK, I would say it's in between.
It's a bit different than I am used to, and it wasn't explained. Most Nando's have an "order at the counter, take a number to your table and wait" approach. Not here. You are sat with a menu like a restaurant...and we proceeded to wait. And wait. Until finally I went up to the counter and asked if we order from there. "Yes" was the answer. That would have been nice to know. Do make sure you bring your table number up with you.
I got the chicken wings, medium spice, with chips (add peri-peri salt) and garlic bread. Wife got a chicken wrap with chips (add peri-peri salt). Two bottomless drinks as well. It took 10 minutes or so to come out, not bad. However, the people behind us had to wait over 20, which was ridiculous.
All of the food was good. None was outstanding, none was bad. I will always return to a Nando's, and this was neither the best nor worst experience at one.
