We had a wonderful dinner at Nanik in Antigua. The restaurant offers a modern take on Guatemalan and Mayan cuisine, using local and culturally meaningful ingredients in really creative ways. Everything we tried was delicious, well thought out, and beautifully presented. The staff were incredibly kind, attentive, and made us feel very welcome the whole time. The place has a slightly high-end vibe, but without feeling stiff or pretentious — just a great spot for a special night out. Highly recommended if you’re looking for something unique and memorable in Antigua

Had an ok experience here. Ambience was great. However, I think we came in with expectations that were too high. We started with the tuna tartare, and it was great! Very fresh and tangy. The panceta de cerdo (pork) was OK. Most of the pork was dry and didn’t have much flavor. The sauce helped a lot. We also ordered the beef tongue stew, and it was overall pretty good. The flavor of the soup was great, but the temperature of the broth was just lukewarm. I like my broth to be very hot so I was disappointed. The rice that came with it was improperly cooked, it was mushy outside hard/crunchy inside. It was also almost cold. Nanik was the restaurant I was most excited to try during my Antigua visit.. I don’t know if it was an off day, but I felt very let down by my experience here.

We had the pleasure of dining at Nanik twice during our stay in Antigua. Innovative chef doing great things. The staff were also very welcoming and very efficient. Would highly recommend trying them out! Oh and very amazing drinks as well (made with local ingredients).

Simply delightful. The preparation of the dishes was excellent, with flavors, textures, aromas, and temperatures perfectly intertwined. They exceeded my expectations. The dining room and minimalist atmosphere, high-quality glassware and tableware, and most importantly, the chef and his team are on another level!

Great for a more elevated dining experience in Antigua. I’m not sure how often their menu rotates but as you walk in you’re greeted with a chalkboard that has the food options for that day. My family settled on the baba ganoush for an appetizer and it had to be one of the BEST things I’ve eaten in months. The roasted eggplant was divine. As for entrees, my family got a chicken risotto, chicken lorraine, and some type of lengua dish. The flavors were phenomenal. I later found out that this restaurant was featured on the Netflix show “Somebody Feed Phil.” I highly recommend if you can swing it in your budget as it certainly was one of my pricier meals during my trip.

What a great experience! We walked in with very high expectations due to having heard about this place from friends in Antigua and from the reviews. I would say it lived up to the hype. It’s definitely more for the foodie types as the menù consistently is changing. The flavors were great and it seemed the chef is trying to do something new with all the food. We enjoyed it so much. We started with the tetalas bicolor which had an amazing sauce that we couldn’t get enough of. For our entree we had the mariscada, which was fantastic and full of different types of seafood and my gf had the fish of the day. She loved the sauce it was in but found the fish itself to a bit too salty, however I enjoyed it, so it’s a personal taste. For dessert we had chocó blanco which was super sweet and rich but absolutely delicious. The bartender gave us a complimentary shot of delicious mezcal to wash it all down. A great way to finish the meal. Thank you so much. Our server was knowledgeable on the whole menu and answered all our questions and had great recommendations. Highly recommend this place!

Wao wao! Being in Michelin restaurants around the world and this place is 200/10. Not need to envy any of this restaurants. The experience from the Guatemala roots to the table is amazing. The flavors and textures is a positive of rollercoaster of experience. I Recommended. This restaurant needs to be on your list when you visit Antigua.

Great atmosphere and friendly staff! The small menu is thoughtfully crafted, with local flavors given a modern twist. Portions are moderate, making it ideal for individual plates rather than sharing. Desserts are especially creative, highly recommended!
