Restaurant setting brings you back to old times in the 50’s, like in the Chinese HK movies. First time tasting Nanning cuisine, the staff recommend few signature dishes. Start with side dish Fried peanuts with sweet & sour sauce not in post picture. Not me taste yet so let the staff know before they unseal warping & pour inthe sauce. Appetizer start with cold dried tofu & Ma Lan Tou salad, something i never taste before. Signature soup is Poached “Lion’s head” meatball like a baseball size. Two persons can share this soup if you find too much meat, the meatball is mild taste and semi-soft texture than a tofu. Staff recommend young patrons order Jinling Roast duck (small) enough for four sharing. There is white & black sesame over the top while the duck meat is tender soft with a candle warmer below. Nanjing noodles in light soy sauce broth not too salty and eat well with Seasonal vegetable (Blanched stir fried with garlic). There is one thing need to mention, tables with horizontal post underneath is uncomfortable as you cannot cross legs. Overall the food tastes and pricing are acceptable.

Really enjoyed my meal here. The place has a cosy, old-street Nanjing vibe and the food tasted legit. Loved the duck blood vermicelli and the salted duck — super flavourful. Portions aren’t huge but great for sharing and trying different dishes. Service was fast and the staff were pretty friendly. Prices are decent for Singapore. Overall, a solid spot if you’re craving Nanjing food. I’d definitely come back again.

Saw this on social media and decided to visit and give it a try. Made a reservation so was able to get into the restaurant without waiting. Was quite surprised the place was so crowded. Had a look at the menu and had quite a lot of items to try. Tried following some of the recommended items on social media and the rest we chose based on our liking. Started with the Nanjing noodles in light soy sauce. The noodles were okay but it was the soy sauce which elevated the dish. Then had the duck dumplings which were pretty unique. Also had the Nanjing roast duck which seemed to be the signature and the dish on every table. It was exceptionally good didn't imagine it to taste so delicious. The meat was so tender initially we thought it was the soy sauce chicken. The victory rice cake was something novel, but we didn't really like it. It tasted like a thick kueh tutu inside with a bit of red bean filling. We thought was red bean but wasn't sure because it was too little, had to check with the staff to confirm it was red bean. The brown sugar rice cake was also exceptionally good and super addictive. It's such a great snack but was a bit weird it was sweet and served as a dim sum and not a dessert. The other dishes which we loved was the glutinous rice with pork, excellent flavours and then the huadiao wine drunken crayfish. Could easily be dish everyone enjoyed the most. Desserts we had the red bean rice ball with sweet wine Lees. Strange that this only had a one bowl portion. Everyone felt it was normal but I liked the rice balls which were almost melt in the mouth. Then we also had the duo colour fermented rice with water chestnut pearls. Thought it was not bad but this dessert dish had a bigger size which we could split into several bowls. A bit baffled with the dessert portion sizing. We also saw almost every table having this interesting looking dish and we ordered, the kampong chicken with crispy sesame bun in iron pot. We all felt the chicken portion was too little and the dish was on the disappointing side. Overall we still pretty much enjoyed the meal with minimal misses. Not too bad, can consider visiting in a group so will be able to order more dishes to share.

Such a great Nanjing-style restaurant! The whole place has that classic, vintage vibe and tons of character. I always order the salted duck — super authentic and so good. Honestly every dish tastes amazing, and the service is great too. Highly recommend!

The moment I stepped into the restaurant, it felt like I had travelled to China. The atmosphere is authentic and inviting, making the dining experience really enjoyable. We took our time exploring the menu and selected a few dishes to try — every dish we ordered was delicious, and the overall food quality was excellent. Highly recommended for anyone looking for genuine Chinese flavours!

In general the food here is good. I would strongly recommend the beauty porridge as though it looks simple, it's actually nice. The signature dishes are also good. - Bamboo shoots with Beancurd - One of the family's favourite and good appetizer to begin with. Similar to DTF 四喜 dish but nicer. - Madam Chiang's Nutritious Beauty Porridge - Looks bland and ordinary. However it is one of my favourite dishes that is new to the restaurant. Taste of 豆花 with a faint taste of cereal. Must try. - Nanjing Noodles in Light Soy Sauce Broth - Nice noodles with tasty soy sauce. However it depends on individual as it's a bit on the oily side and would prefer to have the option to be less oily. - Quail dish (can't rem the name) - The quail skin is crisp and meat tender. Comes with quail eggs and fried veg. - Jin Ling Roast Duck - It's the speciality and must try. Meat is tender, skin is crisp and sauce is good. Good to pair with rice. - Duck Crispy Roll - One of my favourite dish. Must try. Didn't get to eat much as everyone snatched first leaving me a small bite. - Drunken Crayfish - This dish is a must try for crayfish lovers. Heads rich with roe and meat soaked in nice Huatiao wine. - Hairy Crab - It's the time of the year of hairy crabs and can't miss having this. As for service, I have read comments that service in general is slow. However I see that the service is very good as waitresses are very attentive. I guess the poorer reviews are of the past and they have definitely improved.

Walking into this restaurant feels like stepping back in time. The intricate, traditional decor creates an immersive atmosphere that makes you forget you’re still in the city. It isn't just about the aesthetics, though; the kitchen delivers on every front. If you're looking for truly authentic Chinese cuisine, this is the spot. The flavors are bold and stay true to their traditional roots, with no watered-down recipes in sight. Every dish we tried was vibrant, fresh, and layered with authentic spices. It’s rare to find a place that balances such a stunning, classical setting with food that is equally impressive. From the beautiful interior to the very last bite, it felt like a quick trip to China. I’ll definitely be returning to explore more of the menu!

We tried a selection of Signatures & New Arrivals.
•
Signatures - Poached "Lion’s Head" Meatball - Nanjing Signature Salted Duck • The meatball soup deserves a special mention, clear, flavourful broth with a tender, almost cloud-like meatball. • The salted duck is delicately aged, savoury, and refined, tasting closer to cured meat than the usual gamey duck.
•
New Arrivals - Stir-fried Pork Kidney with Chives - Fried Quail with Crispy Celery and Quail Eggs - Braised Pork Liver with Fragrant Spices - Smoked Duck and Chayote Spring Roll - Huaiyang Three Delicacies Steamed Bun - Jade Shrimp Shaomai •
The new menu introduces a few innard-focused dishes, bold, flavourful, and beautifully executed. • The kidney stir-fry stands out with its aromatic chive sauce that balances the dish’s natural richness. • The pork liver, gently braised with spices, is another pleasant surprise, smooth, mild, and approachable even for first-timers.

Yelp
We ordered 8 dishes at least - food for 5 girls who just finished snacking at the cinema and had all proclaimed themselves very full 2 hours earlier. The dishes here have unique flavour, a bit strange to me. The spicy sour fish dish top left is spicy and fresh, and the peppercorns are indeed fragrant and delicate. Oatmeal looking thingy i didn't even bother to try. Veg was light and healthful. Lots of soupy dishes. The crayfish seems to be a signature item ans is served cold on ice but saturated with a sweet sauce - it's candied sweet and a bit much for me. Luo han guo drink by the jug - me and my friend commented it was quite watered down. The crab soup has clams and tastes of fish. Quite comforting. Fried rice and luffa vegetables are more normal tasting. Nothing very special but safe Chinese dishes. Not for me but my friend who lived in China a few years seem to find it quite familiar and enjoyable. She said it tastes better than the outlet in Shanghai but her Chinese friends prefer the China outlet.

Yelp
Chinese restaurant in Plaza Singapura The food here is generally good / consistent across the board as you would expect from a semi-upscale Chinese restaurant. Nothing particularly stand-out that I would go back for a second time though. Some of the stuff we had below: - Crawfish: decent-sized and served in soy sauce - fresh / good quality - Signature chicken dish: tender meat, good but nothing special - Veggie: standard good - Claypot dishes: actually the better dishes at this place - Sichuan fish: good - one of the better ones in SG - Fried crispy fish: good as expected i.e. crispy fried food good Decorated in traditional Chinese theme with Chinese lantern. Service is good
