Masterpiece of civil engineering in Nanjing back in the day. Many political and technical challenges were overcome by the Bridge project team not to mention the Central Government.

Amazing and historical bridge. It was built over 65 years, a milestone in the history of People Republic of China as it was crossing the Yangtze River. It is one of the bridges which can serve vehicles and trains. There is a glass bridge near the seafront where you can take nice photos of the bridge and sunset.

The glass bridge viewing platform is on the south east of the bridge and can be accessed by paths from the Jinchuan River or side roads from Baotaqiao West Street to the water front.
This is a great place to visit for an hour or so in the evening with ships passing every minute making a great photo opportunity. There are lots of food vendors nearby.

Visited during sunset, the bridge, the skyline, and riverbank park made an excellent view. I heard it was one of the first Chinese designed and manufactured infrastructures. It has two passageways, upper for vehicles, lower for trains.

This communist monument was built 65 years ago and looks really impressive.
We were too late and arrived when it was dark already but it was actually great. Those old flower-like street lamps, with the lights of the trains going through, it really looks magical at night.
There is a small pathway on the south side from Baotaqiao W street that is built for enjoying the view on the bridge, which is also open at night.
Fully recommended to visit if you are in Nanjing.

The glass floor path was a convenient location to take pictures. The bridge looked nothing breathtaking.

It was a quite unique feeling walking along the river bank, but most importantly, crossing it by train!
