Nanny Brow

Needing a relaxing and high quality weekend away for our 35th Wedding Anniversary we found the Nanny Brow online and liked it immediately. Sue the owner was really helpful and welcoming when contacted and remained so throughout our stay, particularly when we had a mix-up over a taxi booking and she took us into town herself - brilliant service! Our room was excellent as was the whole experience - beautifully (in every sense and application of the word) kept and presented with lovely touches such as an anniversary card waiting for us from the staff on our arrival. Thoroughly recommended! We'll be back when we can!

As someone who doesnt typically leave a review, I felt obliged to leave one because of how exceptional our stay at Nanny Brow was. My family and I decided to head up to the lakes for a short holiday and Nanny Brow appeared in our search. The pictures of the view were what sold us on the location and the number of awards they have won were an added bonus along with the plethora of positive reviews . Nanny Brow lived up to the reputation. Although the view and sights were stunning. What made our holiday was the Nanny Bro- Sue and Elliot and all the staff. The personal touches such as daily fresh made cake in the rooms (which are beautifully made) the cleanliness of the rooms, the face to face interaction with guests and an excellent breakfast. What an incredible team. My family and I cannot thank them enough for our stay. And I cannot recommend the Nanny Brow enough

We stayed two nights at Nanny Brow and could not recommend it more highly! The building is beautiful, the interiors homely and luxurious and the setting was amazing, even in the pouring rain. We stayed in the Langdale Suite and loved the huge windows and view, as well as the gorgeous bath. The whole place was spotless. Sue and the other staff looked after us extremely well. The breakfast was delicious. We had such a relaxing stay here and would love to visit again in the future.

An amazing hotel with a great team to look after our every need. Breakfast and cakes were totally yummy. The views from the hotel are spectacular. Special thanks to Susan and Elliot for the extra thought and care taken to make our stay so perfect. Elliot has some great local advice on walks, we completed 2 fabulous walks which he mapped out for us. We cannot wait to visit again.

Had an amazing long weekend in the Lake District made even more special by staying at Nanny Brow. Just step outside the door and you have access to beautiful views and great walks. There was always a fire lighting in the lounge to welcome you in from the cold. The room was spotless, so comfortable and beautifully decorated. There was a great selection of teas and coffee in the room, with a homemade treat waiting to revive you after a long day outdoors. Breakfast was fantastic, with a selection of locally sourced quality foods. The menu had a varied selection and nothing was to much trouble. Would highly recommend Nanny Brow as a base for exploring the Lake District.

Just returned from a long weekend to celebrate our Ruby Wedding Anniversary, and couldn't have picked a nicer place for our celebrations. Sue and her team helped my daughter (in the USA) when her present to us went astray so we thank you for that. We would love to stay here again next time we visit The Lakes. Spotlessly clean, gorgeous views across the fells, and a really lovely breakfast to start off the day. Thoroughly deserve their stars.

We had a fantastic stay in Nanny Brow. We stayed in the Whitwell suite which was very comfortable and beautifully furnished, and had great views of the Brathay Valley. The house itself is lovely and set in beautiful gardens. The breakfast was delicious and the staff are very friendly and helpful. Nanny Brow is well situated for walkers and there is a nice walk into Ambleside from the house. There are also plenty of great restaurants nearby and Sue, when we booked, very helpfully provided a list of recommended places to eat. This definitely was a luxurious experience.

Nanny Brow felt like a home from home, perfect for a weekend getaway. The rooms were clean and well maintained. The bathroom and shower was brilliant! I left my laptop at the hotel and I the owner was kindly able to meet me in London so I could get it back! Exceptional customer service. Thank you so much!
