It’s really not great. It looks like a cute airport, until you go past security and realize how few amenities there are. There is a restaurant, but only before security. There is only one small indoor waiting room, and it gets packed. There is also a tent outside, but it doesn’t have much seating, and a very overpriced concession stand. I understand that it’s a small space that cannot expand, but I think they used the space poorly.

As racist as racist can be! Olivia Schmidt, the gate agent on 5.28.25 was our aggressor. Our bag was checked at the gate based on the gate agent, Olivia, telling us a blatant lie that there was no room on board to carry it on. After explaining that we were 1st class and there would have been room Left she stated we should have been there first then and we had to ck the back to our final destination. Well all of my medication, oxygen machine, continence supplies was in my carryon and couldn’t be transferred as I have a lot due to my health and always travel 1st to guarantee my bag is w/me. We got on the plane only to be told by the flight attendant there was room For at least 3 addl bags- plane was delayed, our bags didn’t make it to final destination w/all of my meds and oxygen machine

I had the pleasure of visiting this airport one time. It is such a beautiful place and a moment and time I’ll never forget! They say Virginia is for lovers… but I’ll have to say Nantucket is for lovers. I felt the romance in the air as soon as I got off the plane. And I got my first engine photo here! Some say California dreaming…. Well I’m Nantucket dreaming! #takemeback #nostalgia

At first I thought this would be a peaceful, cute, little airport. The restaurant is amazing and great for flight delays. However, there is no filtered water filling station, and you can hardly call the TSA checkpoint a TSA checkpoint. It’s very small and the security guards are very invasive. They flagged both mine and my mother’s carry on bags and invasively searched them pulling many items out and disorganizing them to the point where they would no longer close afterwards. In my carry on they flagged a muscle roller that I have traveled with in a carry on many times before, at much larger, well set up, airports. They described it as a blunt weapon even though I had it packed at the bottom of my bag and given that I was traveling with my Hydroflask water bottle, I believe that is more of a blunt weapon than my muscle roller. They flagged my mom’s bag for no apparent reason, never explaining why it was flagged, except stating that her BOOKS could be flagged by the scanner as a bomb. They opened her bag, disorganized it and went through all her work notebooks and her password book she keeps in a small hidden pocket. We had also collected a few newspapers on our time on Nantucket that were folded and wrinkles by the end of the inspection. If you are traveling to Nantucket, fly into Boston and take the bus to the ferry. This airport is simply not worth it.

We flew in on a TBM from PA. Wind put a few bumps in approach. Beautiful day. Cool and dry. Flew in for business so we didn't get off of the airport. FBO and employees are very courteous and professional. Very clean and two stories high. Wifi, snacks and beverages available. FBO has two busses, golf carts and carts for luggage. There are taxis, lyft, uber and car rentals. Airport is very busy between June and August.

The prettiest airport to fly into and out of. Very nice workers and awesome food. Such a cool vibe airport!!!

Google
ACK gets the job done. Sort of feels like the original airport in Santa Barbara, CA - small and friendly. Arrivals/luggage is efficient, easy curbside drop off and pickup, check in is fun with all the airlines in the same area (same with the waiting area for the flights). Only downside is the security line which can get long for no real reason. Room for improvement there.

Google
Quaint smaller airport. Very nice place. Check in fairly easy, 2nd time here, easy transition. Sos here we are again at my favorite destination. Love this airport its such an easy process here.

Yelp
EASY to navigate. Clean. Small. Efficient. No traffic. No overwhelming crowds. Fast check in. Fast cargo crew (we got our check in baggages very quickly. Guest relations is right there at the luggage carousel. Bus pick up location and taxi line are easy to find.

Yelp
I'm with Stephanie on this: What a great little airport! Check in is a breeze, the folks who work there are incredibly nice, even the TSA officials. Lines for the teeny security area can move slowly b/c everyone seems to have a ton of carry-on luggage, but it was nothing too crazy even during the peak time when I flew. Be aware that there's an indoor and covered outdoor waiting area and the latter is lovely in good weather. That's also where an excellent, newish snack bar lives, full of locally sourced options and cute souvenirs. Indoors, there are a good number of outlets and chargers built into some of the benches (you have to look closely) and a few vending machines. Waiting areas can be somewhat crowded at peak times. Several passengers on my flight had left behind belongings in the waiting area and staff -- both airline staff and airport staff -- were patient and helpful in reuniting them. Unless the weather is uncooperative, flying in and out of this airport is unusually pleasant.

Yelp
Easiest airport security and check in ever. I'm a world traveler and airport anxiety is real, but not here. Be polite, these are friendly hard working people here that wear multiple hats. There's no lounges or anything extra but I loved my entire check in and security process was under 35 minutes. I am thankful for a 45 minute flight from Newark as opposed to an 8 hour drive and paying big bucks to tote our car onto the ferry.

Yelp
Usually reviews are written to warn people to stay away OR go to the establishment. Here, if you want to fly to Nantucket, the airport ACK is your only choice. But warning - despite its location, it's one of the least pleasant airports in the US. They did a major expansion a few years back but you wouldn't know it. Seating in this small airport is sparse - everywhere! Worst is once you get through security, there is one gate that has seating for about 100 people, if everyone sat next to each other. They don't - that's not the clientele of Nantucket, bags on seats, etc. they have overflow "standing" outside next to the jets that are loud and smell. People are forced to sit on asphalt. The weather is always iffy and, as a result, more often than not, you are delayed or cancelled. What this means for the airport (duh to the Airport Manager), is that the airport fills up with people waiting hours for flights (welcome to an island in the Atlantic). There is also a labor problem on Nantucket - so be prepared for ill trained, slow and rude people throughout. Especially in security. No small town airport charm - this is mean, short and insecure people directing you. A line of 50 will take 45 minutes because of the slow and undertrained staff. The restaurant is the best thing - cup of clam chowder is recommended and the manager is friendly and outgoing. This is the second busiest airport in the State, the private jet business makes a ton of money for the airport and island. Please, somebody, fix this mess - it is a horrible way to end a vacation to the island. Fire the staff you have now - and get some competent people who want to be there. And please, don't make people stand for hours as flight are constantly delayed and cancelled. Build enough seating. Horrible experience all around. Advice - take the ferry from Hyannis!

Yelp
The FBO is atrocious. We called for fuel 5x and on the last call the woman on the phone argued with us about never speaking with us. 1x in air on radio. 1x taxiing in on radio. 1x when parked on radio. And 2 phone calls. Service is slow. They complain about noise. Don't acknowledge you when you enter the fbo. They know they are the only shop in town and can treat pilots like crap.

Yelp
This airport is probably the best in the country due to its small size, cleanliness and ease to move around. Even before COVID they offered outside seating under a tent with benches and outlets to charge your phone. Its nice not to be stuck inside while waiting! Because its so small there is only one luggage drop off and you arn't left waiting around for your luggage. The tickets for direct flights can be expensive but if you can swing it I highly recommend.

Yelp
Nantucket Airport is by far the smallest airport I have ever flown out of in the US. There is no food beyond the security line and just a diner before. I do like walking on the runway to get the plane. It makes me feel like a kid again. The food at the diner is fine but not worth getting to the airport too early for. Being that this airport is so small I wouldn't recommend getting there that early. 45 minutes before boarding is more than enough. Security can take time but almost everyone is on the same flight or a small cape air flight. Basically don't worry the plane won't leave without you here. My favorite part is the baggage claim area. It is a few garage doors that open and they put your luggage right down for you.

Yelp
This review is for the FBO at Nantucket. Avoid at all costs. The line service is horrid. Right after landing they disappeared and never returned. Took over an hour to get fuel and a lav and we were the only plane operating on the ramp at the time. If you want to visit Nantucket, fly into Hyannis and take the high speed ferry over.

Yelp
Tiny, cute little airport! It can be a bit overwhelming because of the high volume of tourist and visitors that ACK gets because they are trying to service several airlines it can get a bit hectic. I would not recommend coming early to lounge around as it can get pretty crowded. You will have to walk to out/up to your plane but their staff is very efficient. They seemed very busy as I witnessed several staff members doing multiple jobs (working the gate/counter, escorting to the plane, announcing flight details, paging for travelers, so please be prepared to be in a quick paced environment. I did like that the island has a shuttle that runs you from the airport into town for a few bucks but they also have Uber pick up.

Yelp
This place straight up the rudest place on the planet. If you have anxiety make sure to take your meds before coming. You will feel overwhelmed, treated like cattle, and feel genuinely disrespected in every way. I've been coming to the island for almost 25 years and it never changes. They are always understaffed, overworked, and probably underpaid. Worst part about the trip. Take the ferry instead!
google avatar

Sydney S.

Yelp
I would highly recommend not coming earlier than an hour before your flight. I've needed help and sat here for 2 hours now trying to check my bag with American Airlines staff, but it's not their fault--just take my advice and don't come early. A few very friendly people here.

Yelp
one of the worst small airports I have ever been to gorgeous island then you deal with this crappy SLoW SLOW TSA gates have ZERO amenities. no good, no nothing except a coke machine. cramped small spaces what a let down
google avatar

Yelp
This is a very cute and very efficient airport. It is a lot bigger than the airport in Martha's Vineyard. There are a few shops located inside although I didn't have much time to explore. The waiting area for JetBlue and CapeAir is one big room and they basically call your flight on a microphone. Boarding is done outside. The bathrooms are clean and the security lines moved quickly.
google avatar

Yelp
This is the CUTEST airport in the United States! Nothing is more than ten steps away from anything else and the agents smile back when you smile at them first! I tried it. It works! So I guess the formula might look look this: Bring A Bad Attitude = Get A Bad Attitude However, I liked this one better: Put A Smile Out There = Get A Smile Back And the airport itself will continue to be an excellent smallish to itty-bitty smooth running machine. I love this airport!
google avatar

J.P. D.

Yelp
I travel a lot. Most airports have become places where people go simply to get from one place go to another. Service with a smile and airport and airline employees going above and beyond, let alone simply treating travelers like human beings has become hard to find. Well, Nantucket Memorial is an exception.
google avatar

Stephanie Y.

Yelp
It's a teeny airport, not quite 'Wings' status but still. Joe, Helen, Brian, where are you? You really only need to come about 30-40 minutes tops before your flight boards. Security is a breeze, the lines move fast and everything is done with a smile and humor. The waiting area for all flights has ample seating and a few vending machines if you're thirsty for a coke. There's really no shelter when leaving the airport to head to the plane itself so If it's raining, you get wet walking to your plane, that's just how it goes. Ample parking, a little restaurant, a news stand and gift shop. It's quaint as ever if I do say so myself and a joy to fly in and out of. ** Fog happens. If weather conditions are bad be prepared for your flight to be cancelled.

Yelp
Lisa from TSA - Nantucket Airport-is a impolite, disgruntled human being with NO manners and lacks Guest hospitality. I usually do not write negative comments but this is my third encounter with Lisa/ TSA. If I could give negative stars, I would! Its easier to go through security at a international airport. What a joke!
google avatar

Yelp
I only popped in for an hour on my layover but this is seriously the cutest little airport I've ever been too. I didn't have time to eat a full meal in the restaurant and I ended up just getting French fries. The fries were ok but the ranch was home made and tasted so good. That was the reason for the 5 stars. I love great service and great tasting food and that's what it was. I can't wait to go back and spend longer in Nantucket.

Yelp
I've been there a couple of times, always in summer. Extremely busy airport so if you are looking for an airport to get in and out fast, better look for another one. The air controllers are extremely competent and professional so even if it is a busy airport, they handle the traffic efficiently (or very efficiently I should say). The services in ACK are also excellent. Interesting airport to spot nice planes and private jets. Impossible to count them, you will not believe what you see...

Yelp
Not Wings but not bad A small airport located in the middle of Nantucket. No, it doesn't look like the the terminal on the old show "Wings", it's actually much larger but still small enough to be user friendly. It does have a lunch counter inside but it's really more of a self serve restaurant. The food is what you would expect from an airport place. One neat thing in the restaurant are the autographed pictures from the cast of Wings. That adds a interesting touch. ACK is a nice little airport only a few miles from town. A bit far to walk but many taxis are available. There are numerous flights to the New England area so flying is a great way to get to the island if you are in a hurry and have a few extra bucks. Perhaps the only negative is the weather. High winds and fog are common so even though most of the pilots are pretty use to adverse conditions, cancellations are always possible.

Yelp
The airport is the perfect size for the island and the traffic.. Coming to the island it is so easy, get off the plane and the baggage claim is right there and out of the airport in less than 10 minutes.. Leaving the island, ugh.. The ticket area is relatively easy, security even easier.. The problem is the waiting area... Prepare yourself for temperatures that are hotter than anything you ever encountered... There is no air circulation in that area and very little seating... Not a pleasant wait..

Yelp
The airport itself is good, and the services above average. However, the TSA checkpoint has the surliest, rudest, unprofessional TSA staffers in the country. Barking "empty your pockets - and remove your belt, just in case" [In case of what? In case my pants are straining to fall down?] seems to bring joy to them. I placed my shoes and belt in one of their plentiful plastic bins - only to see the shoes and belt dumped out of the bin onto the conveyor without explanation. Now I know why I was scolded when I dared to put the few dollar bills I removed from my pocket into one of my shoes. BTW, the belt almost got swallowed by the end of the conveyor, nitwit. I regularly fly into/out of 9/11 airports and am treated far better there than at TSA Nantucket.

Yelp
A small-town airport, so you expect to be able to get in and out easy and that's exactly how it is. One can easily get here a half hour before a flight and still make their plane. However, on busy weekends, the place can be a bit of a madhouse and there isn't nearly enough seating to accommodate all travelers...a major first world problem. Anyways, there's a gift shop here that I've never gone in and the Crosswinds restaurant which isn't great but has surprisingly reasonable prices. Overall, always a painless wasy to travel. And of course, Jetblue and Delta fly here from NYC so that's a big score.

Yelp
Clean, convenient and friendly. Nice improvements over the past few years. Plan ahead when traveling and check the news for celebrities and politicians that can delay your departure or arrival.

Yelp
Women running the FBO don't smile, don't greet you and are generally miserable to deal with. They are not nasty just uncaring. The FBO is very small with minimal amenities. There is a restaurant very close by with has descent food. Fuel prices, as you imagine, are very high.

Yelp
I just took my first trip to beautiful Nantucket. What a beautiful and special place. The airport was welcoming and very nice. On my return there were some flight delays and I had to wait an extra hour in the waiting area past TSA. A few people waiting decided to stretch out and sleep across the whole bench. I understand there were delays but there was no reason for people to take up a bench for 4 and sleep ever at this airport while others stood. The airport staff should have made an announcement or told them to get up. Shame on these rude people for not having respect for their fellow passengers. It is unfortunate that the airport staff needs to ask people to be courteous but they do!

ursula a.

Yelp
The airport restaurant is under new management. We went for their Sunday turkey special and oh my goodness our plate was piled with a mountain of food. The red bliss mashed potatoes were exquisite ,the green beans freshly crisp and delicious. Our Turkey was tender with generous portions. Wine service was controversial depending on the wine you chose, my friend had a Savi. Blanc while I had the Pino Gigio and I was charged less for my glass than she was. This struck us as odd! The portions of wine were skimpy but again the food seemed very good, Fish and chips were fabulous! Service was unusual as we were welcomed by the waiter as if he was an old family friend or relative. In a way this made for very satisfying service and even fun, on an island where so many are unaware of what service can be or what it entails. Recommended as a family restaurant. Very informal.
google avatar

Abby T.

Yelp
Don't worry about getting here super early. 45 minutes is plenty of time.
google avatar

Gretchen C.

Yelp
Just so you know this airline takes a reservation and has no planes or plans to fly you. This happened to my husband over the Thanksgiving Weekend...he had a reservation on an 8am flight...no plane...first they blamed it on de-icng problems...then they told the truth...they just didn't have a plane so they moved him onto the 9am...which again they had no plane...he had to stand by on island air...who rolled out an extra section to accommodate all of the dis-placed Cape air passengers. Just disgraceful!! The owner of Cape Air has a lot of the essential air route thru out the country and he would rather have his planes somewhere where the government will pay him big monies just to sit by....a government gravetrain and leave us hanging!

Kate S.

Yelp
This review is solely based on Delta airlines in ACK memorial: Can I give 0 stars? I arrived 50 minutes prior my plane taking off. You'd think it would be enough time for an airport the size of most people's closets, right? Wrong. I had already checked in the previous night and was ready to breeze thru security, but for some reason, the scanner would not read my barcode. (This was now about 25 minutes later. NBD bc I still have 25 minutes to get help and make my flight, right? Wrong.) When I went to the Delta counter, I was met with a sign saying they had closed...I began to panic at this point because I was worried I would miss my flight. At this point, the computers were telling me it was too late to print a boarding pass. I tried to get help from other airlines, but they could not assist me. I ended up MISSING my flight because the lazy woman left early. When she came back to grab something on the counter to leave the premise, I asked where she had been and I missed my flight. She was extremely rude and unprofessional and yelling at me in a boisterous tone. She also said the plane had left (7 minutes early, mind you.) At this point, people were staring. She did not help me get another flight when I asked, and said it wasn't her problem and she was done for the day and going home. She even proceeded to mock me. I became upset and began to cry. Not my finest moment, but whatever. Thankfully, a kind man from Cape Air helped me book a flight and I made it home. I will never fly Delta again. A shame---as they made a chunk of change off me since June (I am living on island and frequently fly home to PHL). I also feel better having let Delta know the level of customer service their employees dole out, as well as her boss. Seriously, stay away from this Airline who employs rude, obnoxious and unprofessional employees. PS- three other passengers missed this flight due to the same reasons.
