Parents, listen up: Nanuku is a magical place where you can have a family holiday with fun moments together AND come back actually recharged and re-energised. In what world, right?! Sure, it's a bit of a drive to get here (we hired a car to have more freedom to stop along the way... took about 3 hours with 3 young kids in tow and several stops), but it's totally worth it. Once you arrive you'll step into a world of joy and enjoyment. ||||This was our first experience of a kids' club, and Nanuku have got it so right that our two boys woke up after their first night here and asked "can we go to kids club now?". Having said that, it still felt like a family holiday, it's not like we just shipped them off all day (although you can, if that's what you're looking for). We still wanted to spend time together, and we did. We kayaked the local river, we snorkeled (well, splashed in the ocean for the younger members) on the reef out the front of the resort (BTW waaaay nicer than the reef we went to on a day tour out of Port Denarau), and so on. Then, they went off to kids' club and caught sandcrabs, or made tie-dye t-shirts, or went frog hunting with torches after dark, etc, while we enjoyed an adults-only dinner or lay by the pool.||||The cultural touches that were infused throughout our stay also felt organic and we really appreciated them. Nanuku doesn't feel like your typical big tourist resort, it feels more local and personalised and the connection with the local village seemed strong and supportive (i.e. our kids went on a trip to the village without us, to plant mangroves).
