16 Best Resorts in Fiji to Book for Your Next Trip - AFAR

"A 500-acre beachfront property celebrated for its striking natural beauty and active conservation program, including an in-house marine biologist and guest opportunities to plant coral and mangroves. The resort offers abundant water activities, swimming, a swim-up bar, a private island, and a robust cultural program that contributed to its inclusion on a recent Where to Go list." - Tim Chester, Judy Koutsky

A Dolphin-Filled, Tourist-Free Trip to Fiji - AFAR

"Set along a largely undeveloped stretch of Fiji coast, this waterfront property feels intimate and uncrowded thanks to a high acreage-to-accommodation ratio and ownership of extensive coastline; guests often spend more time in, on, or under the water than on land. Snorkeling off the hotel’s private island reveals warm, hot-tub-like water, colorful reefs and tame tropical fish that readily approach snorkelers, while boat excursions commonly include playful dolphins riding the wake. Activities include dawn stand-up paddleboarding among hawksbill turtles, kayaking above glimmering manta rays, and easy reef access just steps from shore; guests also enjoy a beachside hot tub, private villa pools (one with “Bula Tim” spelled in stones), nearby rivers and waterfalls, and intimate entertainment and service from knowledgeable local staff. Fijian culture is woven into the property’s design and programming, with traditional carvings and magimagi bindings, plus curated experiences such as a Fijian food safari, basket weaving, and a formal kava ceremony; an attentive kids’ program offers full-day staffed activities like raft building and traditional cooking." - Tim Chester

The Wild Interiors, Cerulean Blues, and Winding Rivers of Fiji

"Later, back at the sprawling Nanuku Resort Fiji on Viti Levu's south coast, where I was staying, I would have a private kava ceremony of my own. Organized by the resort's cultural ambassador, an iTaukei man named Josua Cakautini, it was performed by four burly, bare-chested men who sat around a huge wooden bowl, in which they prepared the kava."

John Leguizamo’s Grub Street Diet

"I went straight to the Nobu Eden Roc hotel for lunch with producers and had hummus with crudités, a slice of cauliflower wheat pizza, and build-your-own fish tacos, plus lots of Fiji water, coffee, and iced tea; on another morning there I tried quinoa oatmeal with coconut milk and berries for the first time — sweet but not overly so, very coconutty." - Vanita Salisbury

Mr Voli, the general manager, is an amazing and outstanding host. All his staff also embrace that Hospitality. Welcoming at the resort is customized for each guest. We had an issue with our room, however, Mr Voli and his team worked expeditiously to correct the issue. We appreciated the attention to get a resolution promptly. This is an must try resort in Pacific Harbor.

If you are after a resort that is going to embrace you like family, this is it. We had the most beautiful experiences at Nanuku Resort from start to finish. We picked this resort because it wasn’t one of the big box resorts where we were fighting for a spot at the buffet. We did not expect a new lunch and dinner menu every day, which was so good! And it really showcased their local produce and foods whilst still giving guests comfortable options. So lovely to see their own veggie gardens in use. We booked the lovo experience, which was so special and a great way to learn more about the culture from Marika. We also got to experience Diwali there too which was pretty special. And the Friday night celebration was just the best way to spend our last night there! So much dancing and amazing food. Additional experiences: The waterfall experience with Sisilia is so fun and a local/global star! And the island trip was so special as we got to spend time on the beach of a small island and snorkel in the area on our own. Even though there were a few grey and rainy days, we still enjoyed our stay by making use of the massages and hot pool. The rooms are beautifully and nicely set up to feel private and like your own home. My one suggestion is to add more large towel racks 😆 Everyone at the resort was incredible in showing us the best time and being so kind. Special shoutout to Diva and all the beautiful women at the Lailai Tribe (kids club). She fully embraced playing at the level that fit our son (3yo). He had the best time, and we felt so comfortable to leave him in her care. Thank you all for looking after us and giving us the best experience yet in Fiji (our second time in the country). We will definitely come back again! Pic is of our send off. There were lots of tears on the other side of the camera. 🥲

Nanuku is such a beautiful resort, and we loved every moment of our stay. The staff were so kind and made us and our kids feel incredibly special.||||Our villa was spacious, stunning, and filled with thoughtful touches like the daily refill of local cookies. The nannies and kids’ club were amazing, our children had the best time and were so well looked after, which made the whole experience even more relaxing for us.||||Overall, an unforgettable family holiday that truly went above and beyond our expectations. We can’t wait to come back!

Parents, listen up: Nanuku is a magical place where you can have a family holiday with fun moments together AND come back actually recharged and re-energised. In what world, right?! Sure, it's a bit of a drive to get here (we hired a car to have more freedom to stop along the way... took about 3 hours with 3 young kids in tow and several stops), but it's totally worth it. Once you arrive you'll step into a world of joy and enjoyment. ||||This was our first experience of a kids' club, and Nanuku have got it so right that our two boys woke up after their first night here and asked "can we go to kids club now?". Having said that, it still felt like a family holiday, it's not like we just shipped them off all day (although you can, if that's what you're looking for). We still wanted to spend time together, and we did. We kayaked the local river, we snorkeled (well, splashed in the ocean for the younger members) on the reef out the front of the resort (BTW waaaay nicer than the reef we went to on a day tour out of Port Denarau), and so on. Then, they went off to kids' club and caught sandcrabs, or made tie-dye t-shirts, or went frog hunting with torches after dark, etc, while we enjoyed an adults-only dinner or lay by the pool.||||The cultural touches that were infused throughout our stay also felt organic and we really appreciated them. Nanuku doesn't feel like your typical big tourist resort, it feels more local and personalised and the connection with the local village seemed strong and supportive (i.e. our kids went on a trip to the village without us, to plant mangroves).

Absolute Perfection. If you want to visit a world class resort, this is the one. Today, we left Nanuku after almost a week at the resort. The service, facilities, food, people and activities were 100% faultless. We have never encountered anything remotely close to what’s offered at Nanuku. Over and above all else, the people here were saints. If I could give a higher rating I would. Thank you for making the most memorable stay for our family.

From the moment we arrived at Nanuku Resort, we were greeted with genuine Fijian warmth and hospitality. Fresh coconut water in hand, we instantly felt the island’s laid-back charm wash over us. The front desk team and the wonderful director at the Kids Club welcomed our family with big smiles and open hearts, setting the tone for an unforgettable stay.||Our kids had an absolute blast with their amazing nannies, Dani and Tina, who went above and beyond to make every day fun and special. It gave us parents a chance to truly relax and soak in the stunning surroundings, knowing our little ones were in the best hands.||If there’s one thing we regret, it’s not staying longer! Nanuku captured our hearts, and we’re already planning our return. This resort is a perfect blend of luxury, warmth, and family-friendly joy—a true gem in Fiji.

Nanuku Resort is stunning! The beautiful location, rooms, comfy beds, great spa, and lovely little touches like turn-down service and bikes. The staff are amazing and make the stay magical (special shout-out to Pita!), food is delicious though pricey and mostly on-site, but everything else more than makes up for it. Highly recommend. We will definitely go back!

Our honeymoon at Nanuku Resort was truly unforgettable! From the moment we arrived, every single staff member treated us like family. We received a warrior welcome, which was such an incredible experience to witness and set the tone for our stay. The views were absolutely unbeatable, and the food was hands down the best I’ve ever had in my life. What really stood out was how the employees remembered our names and made every interaction feel so personal. We also enjoyed a massage during our stay, which was amazing and so relaxing. Nanuku made our honeymoon more special than we ever imagined!
