This stay is a very unique and special one. We liked the rooms a lot as they where very homely and spacious. The staff was very kind and helpful! It's located perfectly to check out the island and museums or just walk around at the shore. One slight complain would be the rather slow internet and the few sweet snack options at the vending machine. But that's basically the only thing. We will come back and can totally recommend the experience!

We stayed in the campers which overlook the beach. While swimming is not a thing for the locals, tourists happily brave the water. The amenities are good as far camping goes. Baths and hot showers need reservations or coins. The set yakuniku meal was yummy but too much meat for us. It is not close to food otherwise. If you have an electric bicycle, the konbini is not too far away. There are food vending machines but choices are limited.

Best accommodation location on the island, close to Benesse art museums and right on the bus stop for all other sightseeing spots. We had one of the four bungalows directly on the beach with futon style beds, private bathroom, basic kitchen and great ocean view. Nothing fancy but all nice and clean. We also had bbq dinner which was good and fun. Other options exist both for lunch and dinner. There are also vending machines for drinks, bread and bentos. Overall excellent value for money.

The location is right on the beach and in the morning it is peaceful. Check in was easy and many of the staff speak English. The yurt was clean and spacious. The bed is really firm and the blanket is a Japanese style kake-buton so sometimes the sheet may slip but it’s not a big deal. There is a sheet that you have to do yourself to cover the bed. There were two lamps and plugs available in the room and overall the room was enough for our party of three. It was comfortable in the evening but as expected you can hear your neighbors if they are speaking loudly or snoring. The showers are ¥200 per 10 minutes and the private bath is ¥1500 with reservation required. There are three shower stalls for both men and women located near the restaurant close by. There are hot food vending machines (nothing vegetarian friendly) and there is a bread vending machine along with two drink vending machines. There are also two microwaves as well.

Absolutely terrible. The view is beautiful, yes but everything else is so bad it’s not worth it. Stayed here during a university trip and it might be the worst place I’ve ever been to. My friend’s trailer had mold in it, I decided to not look too closely at mine after that. Walls are very thin so you hear everyone walking by, as a woman, very unnerving. 10 minutes hot water will cost you 100 yen, another 100 yen for a rented towel and soap is separate as well if you need it. The facilities are the dirtiest I’ve seen in Japan, terrible smelling and unclean all around. I’ve seen station toilets more welcoming than this. Not to mention the creatures you will encounter when you decide to set foot into the water room. A moth flew in my eye and I saw the biggest spider that I’ve ever had the misfortune to encounter. That was the nail in the coffin for me (also the two hairs I found in my food in the only restaurant in the vicinity). Please, do yourself a favour and go someplace else.

Large yurt with 4 beds. Very clean. Quite hard beds. Excellent location near Benesse Museum (walking distance, or next to bus stop). Excellent airconditioning. |Toilets and shower are quite far from the yurts. Basic comfort but that’s ok. |Very quite place.|Diner is good: you get a large plate with plentiful of meat and some shrimps, vegetables to put on a table bbq. |Breakfast is too basic and not our taste: Japanese udon noodles. Tip: go to the nearby Terrace restaurant : you get an excellent breakfast buffet with tons of choice for around 25-30 euro.

If you wish to take sunset, night view, or early morning photos of the Yellow Pumpkin without interruption of visitors. This Naoshima Rest House is a great option. Rooms/yurk and facilities are basic, not luxury type, but comfortable. The restaurant serves delicious lunch and dinner (if you included dinner in your room). Dinner is seafood steamboat.

Loved this place! I woke up and jumped in the sea! Yellow pumpkin in view. Benesse house & co are right there as well! They serve a really nice lunch as well! Slight practical disadvantage maybe its 15mins by bike to the village so there are no resto’s or other things around. Staying in the port is defo more przctical. This is the romantic option :)
