My birthday surprise to Napa with great friends. This hotel made all of the special surprises great. When arriving in my room, my room was filled with balloons, flowers and a cake. The bed was so comfortable and the bathroom was nice and luxurious. We stayed in the more mature rooms and the water heater had a funny sound, but all you need to do is close the door. The view and surrounding areas are walking distance to all the fun things. ||We had messages and ate breakfast at the hotel. It is delicious and a great treat. ||Love Napa so much- clean, good customer service and beautiful.

Hotel is located in historic Napa which is surrounded by eateries and shops that are easy accessible. Our room was in the Embarcadero side with the view of the river, very elegant and spacious. They have bottled water in the fridge for the rest of our stay with no extra. Charge! Parking is free. They also offer free wine tasting on certain evening in the lobby which was so convenient. We will be booking this again next time.

The rooms were pretty lackluster, especially given the very high price (around $1100 for two nights). The beds were full-sized beds and not large enough for two adults to sleep comfortably, let alone a family of 4 which the room supposedly could accommodate. We had two adults and two toddlers and found that we had to ask for a roll away bed (another $50/night) because the beds were small for even an adult and toddler to sleep in. The rooms were also very small. There was no closet, only a little nook in the already small bathroom, so finding a place for luggage was difficult. The fire alarm went off on our last night there and was on from about 1am-1:30am. They did not know how to shut it off and the fire department had to turn it off. All families in the building were waiting outside during the false alarm. I think they should have comped something for the inconvenience, but there was no mention of it at check out. I chose this hotel for the view of the river, but we were placed on a ground floor room and the view was entirely blocked by plants. I will probably stay at the Archer next time, which was much less but with bigger rooms and also downtown. Location and service by the front desk was great and the rooms were clean, but I do not think this hotel equates to 4 stars.

Google
This a nice hotel. Unfortunately the rooms have paper thin walls. We had three nights that were terrible because we kept hearing the cell phone vibrating in the adjoining room. When you pay the price that this hotel charges you shouldn't hear anything from the other rooms. When we talked to the staff about the issue they acted like they were confused and didn't offer any suggestions. Won't stay here again. Concierge was great.

I love it! Good views, comfortable rooms, very friendly, helpful and informative staff. Close to all amenities. I can't fault it based on first visit. ♥️

I celebrated a very special milestone birthday in Napa Valley, and stayed at this wonderful hotel. Everything was top-notch; from the beautiful rooms to the delicious pastries delivered every morning, I could not have asked for a better experience.||When I first walked into my room, the staff had a beautiful birthday display with chocolate covered strawberries, a bottle of wine, and a birthday greeting. So thoughtful!||I will definitely be back and highly recommend it to anyone considering staying in Napa Valley.

We stayed June 29 through July 4 and we really enjoyed our stay. Everything was delightful and rooms were nice. Even though the rooms above and to the side were filled we could not hear any noise. This was so wonderful! We had a ground floor room that had a patio and overlooked the Napa River. We will definitely stay here again.

If you're going to stay in the town of napa, that is a super cool place to stay, especially inside the courtyard overlooking the river. This was originally a building built in the 1880s by Me. Hatt. They have some super cool bars and bakeries there on the 1st floor, as well as an attached restaurant, and then the inn itself. I'm attaching some photos with the history of the building, which originally was built as a mill.

Yelp
This hotel was a last minute decision bc my wife wanted to see this year's Napa Lighted Art Festival. Last year we stayed at a different hotel close to another display so deciding on Napa River Inn was an easy decision as it was adjacent to number 1 & 2 displays. Our balcony overlooked the river area in addition you can see two art displays even in the early dark morning! Yes we are early risers. Checkin time was 4 PM as we arrived an hour early & was able to park in front of the hotel complimentary. They do give you a parking ticket to place on your car dash area so they can acknowledge you are staying at their hotel. Also they give a complimentary breakfast with the bakery (20 voucher) nearby I think it's called Sweeties but bc my wife was on a restricted diet we passed on it plus we left very early in the morning anyway. Few cons: the hot water for the bathtub took forever to arrive. If you're staying on second floor you can hear your neighbors above walking back & forth. They only have Pluto TV. No local news station or ESPN channels although my wife found that Pluto TV cool! When we initially entered the room it was chilly so my wife turned on the heat with the old style heater so it was annoyingly noisy! Seriously! Luckily we like sleeping in a cool room which worked out better later that night. They had organic coffee & tea & organic lotion which was a plus. Our king bed was nice, firm & cool bedding which was warm enough later. We were thankful for a Friday night that we had a quiet evening so we could sleep the rest of the night! Yay!

Yelp
Lovely hotel on the lovely Napa River. Aptly named! One of the highlights for me of this hotel was its location on the river. I enjoyed sitting on Adirondack chairs overlooking the slow moving current. Or in the mornings, stepping out onto our balcony and enjoying that fresh air. We had pretty sunsets here and their proximity is most certainly the highlight. It is so walkable to downtown Napa! We walked to a wine room on our first night, and then off to get some bites. There's a beautiful path that goes under the road. It's a well designed use of the area and makes for an easy trek. We also walked to the river walk and antique stores from our hotel. It was lovely. I would definitely stay here again when visiting Napa. You aren't in Yountville but it's not far. Similarly with St. Helena. Easily accessible. Similarly with Howell Mountain. We dropped one star because our initial room was just not up to par. Overlooking the parking lot, small, etc. for the price I was disappointed. So we switched to a room with a balcony. I'd say this is a must do here but there's a cost to it. We ate breakfast on our balcony each day. Also this didn't bother me but it does not have central air. They have supplemental units in each room that connect to a normal thermostat but it blows from near the window. And lastly the corridors are just in need of a refresh. They felt drab and worn. But the restaurant was bright and airy. I didn't eat there but the bar was nice and the coffees were perfect. The grounds and location here are the highlights without a doubt. Although I also enjoyed the glass of wine we received upon arrival, too. It was delicious! Centrally located and along the river. I'd recommend.

Yelp
The pros: - Conveniently located downtown near lots of restaurants and along the river, making for beautiful views. - Your room comes with a $20 credit for breakfast / pastries at Sweet Little Pies next door (which they can also deliver). - The rooms include a fridge and keurig coffeemaker. The cons: - The hotel very much has an old motel feel and is in desperate need of an upgrade (including the bathrooms). The carpets look like they're from the 80s and the rooms are a little stuffy. - The amenities are not great. See photo of the small, stuffy "fitness center." - Given its downtown location, it got loud at night which made it hard to sleep since we could hear everyone late at night at the bars. Over all, would not recommend staying here.

Yelp
What an amazing place to stay! My girlfriend and I were celebrating our 40th birthdays with a trip to Napa. This was a surprise trip from my husband and he chose The Napa River Inn for us to stay at. I am so incredibly happy he did. Once I knew what the surprise was, he connected me with Heather from concierge who was so nice and quick with her responses to my emails and inquiries about the area. She recommended several amazing restaurants and wineries that we did end up going to. Her recommendations were all spot on. Check in was a breeze - and bonus - it was Heather that checked us in! We arrived on a Friday about an hour before 4 pm and luckily enough - our room was ready. Our room was perfect. The beds were comfy, the shower had great pressure and everything was clean. There was even a bottle of wine and chocolates from Heather in celebration of our birthdays. She was seriously the best! In fact, every staff member there was great. Housekeeping was always on top of our room and also had special little touches that normal housekeeping services don't provide. The Inn also has a couple of restaurants on the property, a bakery (which also delivers your pastries every morning to your door), a sweets shop and a general store. During our time there, there was also a wine tasting being conducted in the lobby which my girlfriend and I really enjoyed as well. The location just can't be beat. River views, closeness to the Napa Train, restaurants and shops. Absolutely perfect. When I go back to Napa, I will for sure be booking my room here again.

Yelp
Let me start by saying what a great location this hotel has , everything is close by and there's a lot of great places to eat within walking distance. Check in was very easy and the employees are all super friendly and nice . We even got a free box of pastries in the morning with our stay. The hotel was very quiet and gave off a nice relaxing peaceful vibe . The room itself was comfortable and the balcony was nice . The decor itself wasn't my style but I get that they are going for a certain look to go with the area you stay in. The bed was very nice and the bathroom was as well . Would definitely stay here again when coming back because of its location and the great experience we had here .

Yelp
We booked a last minute stay to celebrate my husband's birthday. So glad we chose Napa River Inn! Nice room, with a lovely garden terrace, and a view of the river. The room included a refrigerator and a coffee maker. We were given a $20.00 credit towards breakfast at Sweeties. We enjoyed a delicious egg croissant sandwich. The hotel is located on Main Street which is close to many shops, restaurants, and wine tastings rooms.

Yelp
Hubby and I spent the night at Napa River Inn on a weekday in May. Located at the Historic Napa Mill, the hotel and buildings were really charming from the outside. Our room, E212, was on the 2nd floor of the Embaradero Building and overlooked the parking lot. The building smelled old and musty, combined with a very strong floral scent likely added to cover previous aforementioned smells. Our room itself was fine; it didn't smell bad, had a propane fireplace, had a decent bed, and the small, outdated shower was alright. Front desk staff was cordial. We didn't have any other interaction with other staff or housekeeping. We were, however, rudely awakened around 6 am by garbage trucks in their parking lot and we made sure to let the front desk know about it on our way out. While we liked the location of Napa River Inn, I would not make a repeat visit. There wasn't anything particularly nice or comfortable and our stay was mediocre.

Yelp
We stayed for three nights in the Historic Deluxe Room (the Hatt room to be exact) and had a wonderful visit. The room was beautifully decorated with excellent small extra touches that enhanced our stay. Real cream for the coffee in the mini fridge, my loose charging cords bound up by housekeeping in a branded cordkeeper, cleaning wipes left on top of my laptop, just little additional things that made the experience that much nicer. The breakfast pastries were delicious and convenient and the staff was friendly and helpful. It's an old building, so the insulation didn't seem powerful in terms of sound or temperature, but on a quiet, early spring weekend, with the heater and the fireplace, it was a lovely place to stay in downtown Napa.

Yelp
The room was very clean and the location of the hotel was perfect to walk around. The hotel staff provided us $10 credit to eat breakfast at "Napa General Store" and when going for breakfast at this place an individual by the name DREW treated us very rude and nasty. We decided to go somewhere else for breakfast because we didn't have the time and energy to deal with miserable individuals like DREW. Her disgusting attitude ruined our morning. DREW needs to check her mental health. Big THANK YOU to check in desk BRIAN and bell desk JONATHAN and his trainer.

Yelp
I have stayed here twice, once with my husband in January and again with my step Daugher in May. On my 2nd trip they had a card in my room as well as a bottle of red wine to thank me for using them again. The trip in January we were there January 2nd and most of Napa was closed and doing renovations so I highly suggest not going to Napa that first week or 2 of the new year. May the weather was still a bit chilly but everything was open so we got to enjoy the location and all the hotel has to offer. The rooms both times were clean and nice and the location is fabulous. They have breakfast that they get from a little shop that is part of the same building as the hotel and will deliver pastries to your room, or give you $10 per person towards breakfast there at Sweetie Pies. They have great coffee in the room, gorgeous views from both of our stays, friendly and fast help with luggage taken to room and one day I went in and asked the man and lady behind the counter if there was anything going on locally and they gave us FREE tickets to the Blue Note for a concert that was absolutely amazing. Between the views, the friendliness of staff, and location I cant think of a better place to stay in Napa.

Yelp
Charming hotel in downtown Napa bordering the river. Walking distance to shopping and eateries. Hotel rooms clean and cozy with fresh linens daily. Comfy bed and strong stream showers. It is an old mill and the rooms are not sound proof and I hear footsteps above my room but I still give this place 5 stars. Fresh pasties can either be brought up to your room every morning or you can go down stairs to check the menu out and get hot breakfast items and fresh coffee drinks.

Yelp
Our first trip to Napa and booked with the river Inn as I was traveling with my dog and saw that they were rated very highly as dog friendly. The location was absolutely perfect for parking the car and not having to get back in until we left! Check in was easy and they even sent up a VIP package for my pup! Located downtown there is so many options in walking distance for food drinks and shopping. I think the price was pretty high though for the middle of the week. We had the double standard with no view. Stayed Mon-Thurs and paid over 1600. There was also no microwave in room.

Alexis R.

Yelp
They describe themselves as "pet friendly". I expected a pet deposit and confirmed before arrival this was the case. But upon arrival they make you sign a waiver that if you leave your pet unattended they charge an additional (on top of the deposit) $200. So I couldn't even go to get ice without my animal or they'd charge me. Also the bellman is conveniently "on lunch" at 4 pm when everyone checks in. My mom is elderly with a service animal and our room was in the "plaza" a good 500 yards from the parking lot. This place should be a two star hotel. Service is awful and the pet friendly advertising is just a ploy to get business and charge you extra when you get here. So don't plan on any tastings or wineries alone bc you'll have to bring your animal or they charge you 200 without telling you-until arrival.

Yelp
We had a nice stay at the Napa River Inn. This boutique hotel is in an old structure that still has some updating to do. But it's location overlooking the Napa River and downtown along the river walk, it's the perfect hotel location for a Napa Valley trip. The room was clean and came with a small refrigerator which is always nice. The bed was comfortable with nice linens and comforter. Our balcony overlooked the Napa River and was a nice perk for the extra $$$. The hotel also provides a $20 credit each night you stay for the next door bakery/coffee shop. Each morning I walked next door and enjoyed a complimentary latte and croissant for my wife and I. Nice touch! My only real complaint with this property is the sound transmission between floors. There was a family staying above us and had young kids constantly running and playing. This was a challenge in the evenings and mornings. Stay at the Napa River Inn with these recommendations: stay on the top floor with a balcony overlooking the Napa River and you will have a marvelous experience.

Yelp
Was here for a client program and the entire staff, front desk and the bell team were exceptional. Special shout out to bell team members Per, Thomas and Victor as well as Heather and Sara. Thanks for all you did to welcome our guests!

Michele B.

Yelp
Beautiful location right on River. Rooms are spacious. We had a great view of the river. Front desk person was OK. Bell "boys" were very friendly and helpful.

Yelp
Great venue, super customer service, great restaurants nearby and breakfast next door. Vant beat it.

Yelp
We had a great experience at the river inn! Close proximity to all the shop's and downtown. An easy drive to visit all the wineries around Napa Valley, a good choice.

Lydia K.

Yelp
The people that work here, ruin it. A simple "hi" or "good morning" is to much to ask for. They bark demands like "card!" Ok thanks . Take my money. I guess that's what you get when you hire 14 year olds to work at your want to be 5 star hotel. Out of food at the Morning bakery, smells terrible when you walk in. I'm disgusted. Do not book a room here.

Yelp
I spent the new year's day at napa river inn with my partner and my pup and I would say that i had an amazing experience. The room was very clean and it had a rustic/vintage vibe which seemed pretty good. The hotel is very dog friendly. They mentioned my pup's name on their welcome board and I felt that it was a very cute gesture. Also, the reception staff was very friendly and they gave us both an early checkin as well as a late checkout and made our stay very comfortable. Overall, i would highly recommend this place in case you're planning to spend a night at Napa.

Yelp
Cute bed and breakfast located on the Napa riverfront, steps from all the spectacular restaurants Downtown. The hotel itself has a lot of history behind it, and is a member of Historic Hotels Worldwide, which promotes heritage and cultural travel sites around the world. All their rooms have historical charm and character spread between 3 diverse buildings. We've stayed in the Historic Deluxe and Embarcadero Standard. Both rooms had comfortable beds. You can spend a little extra for the Deluxe if you want a fireplace and bathtub. There is daily wine tasting in the evenings by the lobby. Parking is included in the lot across from the main building. The best part is the daily breakfast delivered each morning from Sweetie Pie's! Make sure to hang your breakfast selection on the door by midnight. We've stayed here a few times, and each time, the service has been exceptional. We'll be back soon!

Yelp
Great location. Cute rooms. Great access too the dining park and restaurants. Sensor alarm was annoying, but they recommended we unplug it and that resolved the issue.

Yelp
We found this hotel by accident. We were taking a walk downtown Napa and we saw all of the guests laughing and enjoying themselves. We were not enjoying our stay at a major name brand hotel so made decision to see if there was any availability at the Napa River Inn. Fortunately, they did and we moved there the next day. Checking in went smoothly and before you knew it, we were in our room relaxing. Regarding parking, there is plenty of space in front of the Inn. Just remember to put the parking ticket on the vehicle dashboard. The hotel includes breakfast, parking and concierge services. Also, someone is on staff 24/7. The rooms are very nice and clean. There is a refrigerator in the room. We found out it can hold two bottles of sparking wine and 4 bottles of water. If possible, ask for a room overlooking the Napa river. In the Embarcadero building, there is a balcony on the second floor that is available everyone in the building. It is perfect for drinking the wine purchased from the local wineries.

Emma F.

Yelp
Beautiful hotel, very comfortable bed, provided high end amenities, and a beautiful location on the river. We felt spoiled here.

Christina L.

Yelp
Walk along the river, surrounded by many local shops & superb restaurants to choose from. A perfect getaway.

Yelp
Stayed one night on 07/23/20 I booked this hotel mainly because of their pet policy. They only charge $25 per dog unlike a lot of other hotels that charge more than $100 per dog. Check-in was really fast, I did not have to wait at all probably due to Covid and also being that my stay was on a weekday. Service was okay, nothing exceptional and nothing bad. The room was pretty clean and the bed was comfortable enough. My boyfriend, my dogs and myself had a good night's sleep. There was not much noise and the ac was very customizable. I love how there is a window so you can also get fresh air inside. The robe and slippers were a nice addition. I love having slippers to wear in a hotel room. They were super soft and not too thin. The location is really great. Celadon is right downstairs and their calamari was delicious. I also got food from Zuzu's which is only 1-2 blocks away. I also loved how I could walk my dogs along the river, and there was an area for them to do their business. Breakfast came during the timeframe I requested the next morning and was a nice selection of pastries and fresh squeezed juice. Check out was super easy as well, again, I did not have to wait. I visit Napa at least once a year, so I will definitely be back.

Yelp
This place was so nice I can't wait to go back in Sept. I have a little fur baby that travels with us and they were so kind to her. Their resturant had some really good breakfast. Not toast & juice but food that can be rated a 10, and I'm a very picky eater.

Yelp
Great location in town, really cool retrofit of an old factory, nice spot on the river, very expensive. It calls itself high-end luxury, but I would not go that far. Small room and more akin to a Hilton or Hampton Inn. The biggest reason we wanted to stay here was because it looks like downtown Napa really exploded since we were last here almost 20 years ago. Back then, it was Downtown Joe's and that was about it. We were excited to walk into town and try some of the many tasting rooms advertised. But at 6 PM on a Wednesday, the town was completely dead. Just like 20 years ago. Almost all of the tasting rooms were closed already. Restaurants largely empty. Really disappointing. The only reason we paid a super premium to stay in Napa was the ability to walk around and enjoy the town in the evening. Not to be. The property is nice enough, though. I was surprised their TV didn't have any channels and wants you to log into your home apps. We didn't want to do that, as I could see previous occupants account info. In that case, they send someone up to log in to the hotels account for you. Weird. If you want to stay in town and the price doesn't bother you, then this place should be fine. Just don't expect much in the area of nightlife.

Yelp
Struggling with the review a little and may come back and add a star. Loved the location and loved the room except for two things. Firstly the walls are pretty in insulated so I am lying here listing to the person in the next room snoring away. Second I had to get up in the night to turn the room heater off - just so very loud. Those two items make this an expensive room for a disturbed night. Other than that, a high quality room with all the nice little extras in the room. Waiting on breakfast. So that may win me over for the extra star! Okay, I have given an addition star based on the breakfast provided (oh and I should mention the small box of chocolates provided when we arrived). Fabulous danish, scone and tea plus the oat meal (a little on the small side when you first see it, but more than enough when combined with the rest of breakfast). So great stay overall.

Yelp
Booked a last minute weekend trip day-of. Picked Napa River Inn because they are pet friendly, the contemporary rooms looked nice and clean, and wanted something different than staying at a winery. Was able to book NRI same day. They have their own lot with complimentary parking. Check in was fast and efficient, the receptionist asked how to spell my dog's name so she could add his name on the VIP dog house outside. On top of that, they gave me a room with the river view that I asked for! The room itself is nice and clean. I'm incredibly not picky with hotels so that was important. They had slippers! I love when hotels do that. The AC/heater work quickly. The hotel is on the riverfront and lots of great eats and drinks within walking distance. The only thing I didn't like was when I opened the door to the patio to view the river, tons of bugs were flying around cause the patio is filled with plants. If you keep the AC or heater on, that stay away. The patio was unwelcoming and wasn't pleasant to hang out in unfortunately so we kept that closed off. Also, walls are thin so several times in the night, we were woken by drunk groups walking through the halls. If you're bothered by noise, bring earplugs. Overall I'm happy with my experience here. They even have a spa gift certificate! I wish they did that in the beginning instead of at the end so I could have used it. Hopefully I'll remember to bring it next time.

Yelp
When we got suddenly evacuated without warning from our home in St. Helena due to the LNU fires, we didn't know where to go, but started heading toward Napa. I saw Napa River Inn had good reviews, and showed availability on Hotels.com, so decided to call just to check. When I asked about room availability, I got an icy reception: "I don't know if we have any rooms. We are getting slammed right now." So I took a chance and booked on Hotels.com... seems they had rooms after all? Then we decided we needed to extend our stay... but having paid full price ($200+/night), and their rates going up to $292/night for the weekend, we let them know we were local evacuees. They didn't offer any discount at all, which was quite disappointing. If they had, this would be maybe a 4-star review, but I have to review based in that full-price rate, and have to say that the quality is not quite up to the pricetag: 1) There is a pretense of luxury, but not actual luxury. Slapping a label on generic shampoo that says "Sparkling Champagne Shampoo" does not actually make it higher quality. Similarly, the towels, furniture, bathroom hardware/shower are all fairly low quality. 2) Our room was nice... until evening rolled around, and large groups of low-class guests gathered on the patio area right outside our room, being loud and obnoxious into the night. 3) There is chintziness and lack of consistency with things... they will provide in-room coffee only upon request (new covid regulations, so that is fine), but the first pack of coffee they gave us came with no sugars or sweetener of any kind; the second box did. Why? Similarly, my wife was provided cream with her breakfast tea one morning, but not the other 3 mornings. Why not? The location is quite nice, but if I had guests coming to visit, I would only recommend this place if they could get a rate under $200/night. For $1000 after being forced from our home, I expected better.

Yelp
This weekend is the wedding anniversary of my son and daughter-in-law. While I have been tardy posting this, I wholeheartedly commend and recommend for wedding guests. The venue and service were outstanding when we needed it most for the wedding and the follow day. Thank you so very much. - The Howell family

Yelp
Overall 2 1/2 stars! 5 stars for location and 4 stars for cleanliness. Pros: Napa River Inn is perfectly situated downtown which makes it extremely convenient! We loved that our room had a patio with a view of the river. Was pretty clean! Cons: You literally have to walk out the door of where you check in and around the corner to your building (wasn't to far around the corner, but definitely would have been nice to know that we would soon have to drag our stuff through a pretty busy parking lot). There's no parking directly in front of our building. When we asked about how to get all our luggage and wine to our room we were offered a bellhop cart but no bellhop service which we would have gladly accepted (maybe they don't offer this service). You can hear the people above you. Literally sounded like someone was pacing back and forth and moving furniture to the point where we had items in our room rattling. This was the BIGGEST annoyance since it went on well after midnight and started again in the 6 o'clock hour. We unfortunately won't be back.

Yelp
Disappointed with our stay here. We were so excited and looking forward to this hotel. Our number one complaint was there was no water pressure, so unable for many in my party to get soap out of their hair. We mentioned this to the front desk, who said they'd take care of it, but returned to find the same result. Room was 123 in the plaza hall. The breakfast included from sweetie pies was great and room was okay. Hotel is walking distance to everything downtown and the wine train, but have a problem paying $400/night with no ability to shower. Also if a sports fan, no ESPN on tv.
google avatar

Martin E.

Yelp
Great location, but definitely overpriced for the comfort and service level. No "breakfast" was served though it was said to be included: one small pastry per person was brought to our room, far from what I would consider breakfast. A second pastry was eventually brought to our room after complaining asking "if this was it". Very slow service and long wait to get the second round of "breakfast". Very small beds when reserving for 2+2 (two double beds), made it very difficult to get a good nights sleep. Next time, well take our money and our sleep elsewhere.

Yelp
Charming historic hotel with average service from staff. The inn is conveniently located in downtown Napa; lots of good restaurants nearby. Walking distance to the Oxbow Public Market & the Wine Train. Opted for the Embarcadero room with a balcony and enjoyed the nice view of the Napa river. Sweetie Pies Bakery was the recommended go to place for breakfast. Enjoyed my stay over all.

Yelp
Really nice hotel. Awesome staff. It's right next to the river, obviously, but our room wasn't facing it instead we got a view of the building next door. Either way the room itself is amazing. There's a bunch of restaurants near by and a sweet shop next door. You won't be disappointed.

Yelp
Had a four-night, five-day stay. They were so understaffed that there was no room service. No making beds, taking towels, front desk gave us a trash bag to deal with our own trash haha. Very limited amenities. A very basic gym. Restaurant was closed for a wedding on the one morning we went there. Their solution for the absolute bare-bones experience was to offer to refund ONE night's "resort fee". Basically $500/night to stay in a motel. I understand the realities of staffing right now, but if you're going to offer half the service you normally do, probably shouldn't expect to charge 100% of the price.

Yelp
5 star location, 2 star water pressure. So, I compromise, its worth it. The building itself and decor is old and outdated but the amenities in room are 5 star. I think they are trying to keep the original old style. It did not have any old smells just looked older. Our group could not stop talking about the towels and linens and how comfortable the beds were. Those were solid white and soft! Robes and slippers in every room, ready for your use! The turn down service includes chocolates! The location is unbeatable, in downtown Napa, ON THE RIVER! The hotel is split into two buildings. The front strip of the check in part and 'The Plaza' building is split by a restaurant and breezeway. This breezeway is a perfect spot for wedding entry or a photo spot. Its the Celadon entry. There is this adorable patio/restaurant at the end that overlooks the Napa River. There is a Spa, BUT, you gotta find the door first! haha, several of us circled the building and walked right by it. Top notch service inside once you do. Each night included a voucher for 'Sweetie Pies' which is the best bakery right downstairs. Get up, get dressed and go enjoy some breakfast! We did EVERY morning! So yummy, not just sweets but breakfast sandwiches, lattes etc. The only complaint we have is the water pressure in our room was less than desirable. The photo opportunities here are endless!

Yelp
I spent a couple of nights at this hotel for a meeting last month, and I have to say, I absolutely loved this place! Great downtown location and absolutely charming. The front desk staff was friendly and accommodating. I had a beautiful 3rd floor King room with a balcony overlooking the outdoor patio restaurant and river. Bed was incredibly comfy - I just melted into it at night. Nice bathroom, with lots of counter space and great shower with good pressure. Overall a great hotel experience. I would definitely recommend this beautiful hotel to anyone visiting Napa.

Yelp
There's a lot to love about NRI! Great staff! Very comfortable and beautiful rooms! Nice layout with views of the river in many cases. Quiet enough and close enough to everything if you like to park once and walk everywhere. Decent sized fridge in the room to store your beer and wine and very comfortable beds! It's only 2 floors so take the stairs. We got stuck in the elevator one morning, as did one of the clerks on the next day. I'm sure that's resolved by now but I never tested my luck! TV is decent and the wifi was strong and stable. Bathrooms were large and separated into a toilet/shower room and a makeup/bath room so no stumbling over each other trying to get ready. The in room safe worked flawlessly and our room had a balcony looking out at the riverwalk and the river itself. You can go for a nice long run over the bridge and then right down along the river. You can go over the bridge to Stone Brewing. You can go over the bridge to the Oxbow fantastic food market) or Wine Thief (definitely do not miss the wine thief!) or down the street to Bounty Hunter, Basalt and plenty of other great spots. There's really no end to the ways to enjoy Napa River Inn! Great for business, recreation or a romantic getaway if you're not a sour curmudgeon! It has a small rec room that's functional, a spa that people were saying great things about and a comfortable lobby and easy going staff. Parking is also pretty good and it is easy to get to from pretty much anywhere. It is expensive. CA also adds plenty of pain in the form of a monster room tax. I think they are worth every penny, though, so I'll certainly return!

Yelp
This is a beautiful historic hotel. Great location on the river with plenty of amazing restaurants near by. Unfortunately, their customer service was less than stellar for a hotel that raves about their high-end concierge service. The second day of our stay, we had an item stolen from our room. I reported it to the director of housekeeping, and the the front desk, and the again to the night staff. Never a call back. It wasn't until I contacted them on IG that they somewhat responded, but still no resolution, no "making it right", nothing. Napa was beyond gorgeous and we can't wait to come back next year, but will not be staying here do to their tolerance of their thief. I would never want anyone working for me to steal and would take that claim very seriously, unfortunately that is not what happened here. Very disappointing. If you DO stay with them, DO NOT DISTURB! And, do not let the staff into your room!

Yelp
Boutique. Chic. Magnifique My 2 night stay at the Napa River Inn for the 18th Live in the Vineyard was a wonderful experience, all around. Located at the historic Napa Mill overlooking the Napa River, the Napa River Inn is conveniently located in Downtown Napa, within walking distance to retail stores, eateries & the Oxbow Public Market. https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/napa-river-inn-napa?select=FO2bT-M9F_iam5qhRF3tkw Check-in was a breeze. We were offered wine samplings, and the lobby had a Keurig coffee maker & iced water. Upon completion of check-in, we were given a parking placard to place on our rental car dashboard. Parking is via the private parking lot, or the parking structure across the street, which I believe is limited to a particular level. Our room was located in the Plaza Building. Arriving in our room, we noticed how quaint it was. A Keurig coffee maker, with complimentary Starbucks coffee & organic tea, a mini-fridge with 2 complimentary bottles of water were some of the amenities. Organic toiletries from NV Organics were luxurious and pleasant smelling. Wise on their part, Napa River Inn's body wash, shampoo & conditioner were locked in the shower, discouraging visitors from taking them home. Amelia's, the lobby gift shop, has all the NV Organics for purchase. The bath soap, facial soap, shoe mitt, vanity pack, sewing kit & shower cap were free to take as souvenirs. Daily night cap with mint chocolate was a welcome sight coming back to our room. Complimentary breakfast in bed from Sweetie Pie's Bakery next door is normally included for guests, but because we were staying courtesy of Live in the Vineyard, the offer wasn't included. Our balcony overlooked the entrance to Celadon restaurant. https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/napa-river-inn-napa?select=oqgZj4Sd8eSrI4BFgiGFLQ A Lexus house car for complimentary "driver hosted" jaunts within city limits was on hand for guests. We used it to buy Powerball tickets from 7-Eleven, as the big jackpot proved quite the temptation. One of the security guards acted as driver, and he was friendly to talk to. I also inquired about printing options, as I wanted to print our Southwest boarding passes 24 hours prior to my departure. The staff let me know they could take care of it for me, as long as I left them the pertinent info, and they'd leave our printed boarding passes in my room. That's service for you! On premises, there are several eateries & shops to take in- Amelias - The lobby gift shop, catering to clothing, luggage & toiletries Sweetie Pie's Bakery - Known for their scones, Sweetie Pie's has breakfast and lunch specials for all dietary considerations. Vintage Sweet Shop - Made daily fudge, chocolate & sweets. Fudge & wine tastings are offered. Ask for a fudge sample like I did. Silo's - For nightlife lovers, with live music, wine, microbrews & small bites. Napa General Store - Unique keepsakes & treasures, to go along with breakfast & lunch. Angele - Country French fare. Celadon - Global comfort food, influenced by Asian, American & Mediterranean cuisine. Facial & body treatments can be arranged at The Spa, utilizing the same NV Organics as those in the room. A tiny exercise room in the Plaza Building consisted of 3 cardio machines in a tiny room. I say, get your cardio by walking Downtown Napa like we did. Truth be told, we spent a delightful weekend at the Napa River Inn. While slightly discouraged we didn't receive a room with a river view, the Napa River wasn't much to look at and our room was right by the entrance of the Plaza Building, making getting in & out a breeze. The service was top notch, and the staff even packaged/shipped our Live in the Vineyard schwag bags with our UPS labels for us. The absolute highlight is Napa Rive Inn's location. Located within close proximity to the Uptown Theatre, Zuzu, the Oxbow Public Market & other attractions, my rental car stayed in the same spot till we left for home, not needing to drive anywhere, saving gas & really taking in Napa by walking & being street level with others. https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/napa-river-inn-napa?select=i4YTc4MJZX87swjl3MWnfQ Highly recommend!

Yelp
Part of the Historic Hotels of America....step back in time and glory in the parlor of their lobby, enjoy the framed photos capturing history in the 1900's, and be prepared to be a bit spoiled, if only for a little while.. Room P311, and all your worries will melt away!! (tip: door at the end of the hallway gives way to a perfect view of the mosaic fountained courtyard, gets full warm sun, and is your own private patio with table and chairs if you aren't fortuitous to land a room with a view--hehe, EM Forster). Space is seemingly unlimited here, large flat screen mounted above one's fireplace, and a glorious balcony with great morning sun from which to enjoy the AM's breakfast delivery from Sweetie Pies bakery..... Spatially, the room contains 2 doubles decked out with down, 2 armchairs that are perfect for taking in the paper or a book, with the fireplace between, and an extremely glorious view....3 windows of blue sky and river views. The Hatt Building and its history I found to be quite fascinating, later assumed by the Keig family (rumors abound with their ghosts)...poor Mr Hatt, couldn't manage sans wife. The old Napa Mill.... so charming with the courtyard, Celadon, Napa General, Angele, etc.... They rent out bikes for free, so ride I did and really get to know historic Napa and its immediate vicinity well...The Napa River Trail, albeit short, is a luxury to usher in the capital R for relaxation....fun spotting all of the pretty much low-key downtown area...Fuller Park nearby, as are the behemothal Churchill Manor and White House Inn B&Bs (about $400/nt, perfect venue for weddings). I also biked right by the Beazley House on 1st St, Napa's first ever B&B. The overnighter was a treat; thankful we were given such a prime room... checking in a bit early was no problem at all....an awesome sleep, for sure. Morimoto Napa and its experience was elevated exponentially with the generous deal 'gift' from them...great getaway from the Bay or from Sacto. PS They even bothered to send me a "So long, and thanks" email for my patronage and business...awwww!

Yelp
The room was nice and clean and they serve nice pastries in the morning of your chosen time. Don't forget to mention if you don't eat meat. We loaded some of our luggages in the morning and came back by 11 to find they had cleaned out our stuff. Check out is at 12 and we were disappointed to see that our stuff was taken out. Also you do have 2 restaurants just next door and lot of them just in walking distance.

Yelp
Can not believe this place has CNN but not Fox News. So much for equal representation.

Yelp
I booked a trip here right after the shutdown was lifted and was unable to attend due to illness & have been attempting for months to obtain a make up date seeing as my card was charged but have found no help from any of the staff.

Yelp
My husband and I stayed here for three nights at the end of August. The hotel was in a great location, right on the Napa River. It was in a restored mill building from the 1800's. There were several great restaurants to eat at that were part of the complex. We had a delicious, complimentary breakfast in our room each morning from Sweetie Pie, which was also part of the complex. Our room was a really nice size, king bed, fireplace, sitting area and cute balcony overlooking the Napa River. Extremely clean, great pillows, sheets and comforters. Bathroom was modern and very roomy. Each night there was turn down service with tea and chocolates on our bed. The staff was extremely friendly and knowledgeable. Good location to walk to Oxbow Public Market and downtown Napa. Highly recommend this place and would definitely stay again!
