8 Best Wine Tours in Napa Valley (Updated 2025)

"Exploring Napa by bicycle is scenic, and Napa Valley Bike Tours offers both guided and self-guided options from their store in Yountville: the popular half-day guided e-bike tour is $159 per person and includes a visit to one winery with a great guide, the full-day tour is $199 and visits two wineries with a picnic lunch, and the self-guided tour is $149 per person and includes a box lunch, comfy bikes, helmets, planning information, and wine pick-up so you don’t have to carry purchases." - Matthew Kepnes

Google
We had such a great experience on our Napa Valley bike tour! Our guide was incredibly knowledgeable—not only about the area and vineyards, but also about the history and culture of Napa, which really added depth to the ride. The electric bikes made the tour accessible and enjoyable for everyone—you don’t have to be in peak shape to keep up, since the assist gives you momentum when you need it. It was such a nice, leisurely way to see the vineyards and take in the scenery at a relaxed pace. Another great perk was that we didn’t have to worry about carrying wine purchases on the ride. The tour company can arrange to pick up any bottles, and most of the wineries offered a flat rate of $20 to ship. It made the whole experience feel even more relaxed and stress-free—a great way to enjoy Napa without lugging bottles around.

Google
Our first experience riding bikes through the vineyards was simply spectacular. Our guides, Paul and David, went above and beyond with their attention and were very friendly. We definitely recommend this tour.

Anne Davis

Google
Wonderful experience. Our guide Don was so kind and knowledgeable. He was very attentive to every detail. The e-bikes worked like a dream and made the trip effortless. We wanted to get a good wine education and our educator at Monticello (Walter) was extremely interesting and gave us a lot of attention. The gourmet picnic lunch was delicious! I wouldn’t have changed a thing.

Angela Rowe

Google
Such a fun wine tour on E-bikes. Our tour guide David knew the backroads and beautiful photo ops. The wineries were good and very picturesque. Really fun experience!

Ariana Latour

Google
We loved our half-day tour with Napa Valley Bike Tours! The e-bikes made the 6-mile round trip journey really easy, which was especially helpful after a tasting. Our tour guide, John, was super nice and informative, and we really enjoyed learning about the valley and seeing a winery that we would not likely have found on our own. Highly recommend!

Michele Selvaggio

Google
We had a great time and our guide Michael was amazing. But it was absolutely not the day I was expecting. A few things to consider- tastings are not included so expect to spend an additional 400/couple; the bikes are pedal assist, so you will be pedaling the entire time you are on the bike - this is not a leisurely day; you are on a bike path, and we felt safe the whole time, but you are on a major road most of the day with cars going by 50 mph+, so if this will make you nervous, this is not the trip for you.

Lil Racelis

Google
We had the BEST time! If it wasn't so hot, we could've ridden for another 2 hours. Thank you for a great memorable day!

Brady Smith

Google
Santigo was our tour guide and did a fantastic job. He was very knowledgeable about Napa valley and you could tell how much he appreciated the culture. He made the ride fun and enjoyable. I can’t recommend this experience enough!

Yelp
This was our second time renting with them and again it was perfect. The employees are super friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. We were lucky enough to ride brand new E bikes up to Rutherford and back. So fun!

Yelp
This bike rental shop is great!! Helpful service, bikes were available, they provide you with maps of a couple routes to take. We rented cruisers and ended up riding about 12-13 miles around Yountville. My husband and I really enjoyed doing something active and in nature during the wedding trip! Yountville has some really beautiful areas! definitely recommend!!

Jill H.

Yelp
Mark was an excellent tour guide for the bike tour and Goosecross winery was fabulous! Delicious wine and beautiful property. The bike ride was absolutely gorgeous and an extremely special way to spend our day! I would highly recommend you add this to your must do list if you are traveling to Napa!

Yelp
Had a great time biking from St Helena to Calistoga. The e-bike was really nice (we towed a trailer) for our little one. The Napa valley wine trail was very nice and we felt safe biking on it as it was isolated from the road.

Yelp
Everything was great! So easy. Doing the bike ride was a highlight of our trip, so much fun. - Provided a map on our bikes with where to go - Bikes were good to ride - Service at check-in and check-out was very nice - Provide locks - Super easy - Good prices

Nancy W.

Yelp
While visiting St Helena we rented for 4 days. We wanted to do the entire 8 miles so the mast day they were great to accommodate me with an e bike just for the last day. Loved this place!

Yelp
If you are in the Napa area, Napa Valley Bike tours is a really fun way to spend a day. Lots of great wineries close to Yountville and the staff at NVBT's is excellent! Great Bikes, good routes and easy access. Highly recommend using this company.

Yelp
Love Yountville, The Napa Valley Bike Rental was right across the street from our hotel... how convenient. My friend and I wanted to go out a bit farther in Yountville to a couple wineries and also enjoy the scenery, not wanting to drink and drive, e-bike was the way to go. So much fun!. The people who work there were very helpful and personable. I had called previously to inquire if and when I should make reservations for 2 e-bikes. I was told, it was highly recommended to make reservations 2 weeks in advance of your arrival and that would be sufficient. Online on their website I rented the bikes for a day (pick up anytime after 8:30 a.m., drop off by 5 p.m.) I had 2 tastings reserved that day at 11:30 and the other at 1:30 and then take the scenic ride back to the bike shop by 5:00. We picked up the bikes at 10:30 knowing that we had to set up bike, give more info. etc... you get a map, helmet and lock. Note: if you happen to have bike gloves, it helps alot, more comfortable and warmer. We ended up riding 22 miles that day stopping at 2 wineries and enjoying a ride back, we did a full circle. So Fun! A must do!
google avatar

David K.

Yelp
We rented for the day and covered 21 miles and three wineries. Cameron was informative and helpful on the phone before we arrived in Yountville and then on the day of our rental. Our "cruiser" hybrids were in good shape and easy for the casual rider. I recommend the shop.

Yelp
Once again, Napa valley Bike Tours and their Staff are amazing!! I rented some bikes with my husband and another couple. We all live in Napa and I wanted to share how much fun renting E-Bikes are with them! We started in Yountville and went down to The Yard down by the Oxbow, had lunch, hit a few key places on the way back to Yountville, ended at R & D for snacks. What a DAY! So much fun! Can not wait to do it again! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Dominique C.

Yelp
Very professional and friendly Team The electric bike are wonderful ! We pick up the bike are 9.00 am and the bikes were ready to go with our name on it .. Red Carpet The ride was amazing from Yountville to Brasswood café and restaurant after St Helena...what a place! The 30 miles total was easy with Eco on the Electric bike . Do not hesitate to book with this company .. A GEM ‍‍‍‍‍

Yelp
John, our leader was an all around fun, smart and kind person. He checked on each individual and encouraged a banter within the group. I'd call him the perfect host. He was very knowledgeable about grapes, the effects of climate and soil on the characteristics of the grapes and the finished product and shared this info with us at each stop along the way. We were also lucky to have a very bright biochemist as one of the group. She asked incredibly insightful questions and John provided thorough and very understandable responses. Our first stop was at a small Vineyard, Backstage, family owned and run by a father/daughter team. They purchased the winery from Mario Andretti who built and ran this before selling to the current owners. This was a great stop! The wine was distinct and the group agreed. We all ended up buying a good amount of wine at this stop. The building was lovely and our host was great! She deserves kudos but I cannot recall her name. Sorry! I hope the owners will figure this out. We were there on 10/12. She was bright, irreverent, fun and knowledgeable. This was a fabulous stop. Our second stop was at Laird Winery. The stop was interesting - to see a large processing facility. There was nothing memorable about their wine and very few bottles were purchase by our group. I did not find one that interested me, at all. Back to the bike ride-- the e-bikes were well maintained, the employees were all friendly and helpful, and John is a shining star. Thanks!!!

Yelp
So Easy!!! I reserved the bikes online. They provide, helmet, lock, and map. Staff was super helpful and made great route recommendations. The Yountville country road was my favorite!

Kyle L.

Yelp
This place is amazing. Pickup and drop off were incredibly easy. We picked up the night before and they had the bikes waiting. The communication leading up to our rise was amazing. Bikes were in perfect shape. Shop is just a few 100 feet from the vine trail. So easy to ride and follow

Judith M.

Yelp
Natalya our house was wonderful and knew Napa Valley history very well. The stops and wineries were great. The hikes fantastic. Loved it and highly recommend. Weather accommodating this is a great fun thing to do.

Laura R.

Yelp
We rented six bikes from Napa Valley Bike Rentals in Yountville the end of February. The bikes were ready for us upon our arrival, omelette with maps, and helmets. We rented four e-bikes and two manual pedal bikes. The use of the e-bikes was fully explained, a safety talk was provided and information to help us enjoy our ride. We had a great ride while enjoying the countryside. We would highly recommend Napa Valley Bike Rentals.

Yelp
Awesome customer service! Mckenzie's customer service prompted my review: First, she patiently mapped out a route for us and provided suggestions on wineries. Then when we got to the winery we had discussed, we realized she had sent her coworker to meet us there with rain parkas! Apparently it had started raining after we left (it wasn't actually bad where we were), and so she sent her coworker to hand-deliver parkas to us. Thank you both!

Yelp
Positive experience from the time of booking and all the way up to returning the bikes! Booking the bikes for rental was super easy. About a month in advance, I reserved e-bikes on a self-guided tour for both me and my boyfriend the whole day to celebrate our 6-year anniversary. On the day we came to Napa to celebrate our anniversary, our plan was to ebike to and from Del Dotto Estate Winery, along with biking to explore different paths. So, we were self-guided. At the shop, the employees were SUPER helpful with recommending the quickest and easiest path to get to Del Dotto in St Helena. They recommended us a path that took 40 minutes, and was easier, and had a wider bike path than the one that was recommended on google maps, which they told us is hillier and longer with a narrower bike path. When we were led outside to our bikes, they were able to make swap out the bike they had accidentally assigned me and switched me to a x-small size ebike. They even offered to take a photo for me and my boyfriend, which I'm so grateful for because it didn't cross my mind to take a picture in front of the bike shop with our bikes until she mentioned it! This is my first time ebiking. It was SUPER comfortable and very fun to ride. When we biked on the highway, I was admittedly starting out quite nervous with all the cars zooming past me, and kind of jumped with all the cars driving past me, but I eventually got used to it. It was SUCH A BEAUTIFUL day, with bright blue skies. It was the perfect temperature, warm, but not too warm, with a breeze that felt refreshing as we biked. Later on, after our visit at Del Dotto, we biked back to downtown Yountville, and decided to go exploring the Vine Trail that's specifically for bikers. That was SO MUCH FUN. Since there were no cars, we got to bike fast. I was smiling the whole time, and went up to 20.3mph. It felt like flying! Returning the bikes was easy. After returning the bikes, since my boyfriend and I were heading to our dinner reservation, they kindly let us change clothes in the shop restroom. I changed in the main restroom, and they even pointed out one for my boyfriend to go into in the back. Great customer service! Thank you Napa Valley Bike Tours for contributing to such a WONDERFUL day. I loved e-biking, and would definitely do this again when visiting Yountville and Napa

Yelp
What a great biking adventure all thanks to the staff at Napa Valley Bike Tours and Rentals. They encouraged us to take a little detour and thank goodness we listen because it made the day! We rented both regular bikes and e-bikes and had no issues. What a day and we're already planning our next ride.

Yelp
Everything was perfect from start to finish! We planned a large group event with 25 people. From the very beginning the team was so helpful with recommendations and keeping everything organized so we could have the best experience. They replied to any questions promptly and were quick to give us any helpful information needed. I love that they deliver and set up your lunch for a picnic at a winery of your choosing. Special shout out to Tim for helping with delivery and clean up of our food. And coming to the rescue (in such a fast timeframe) when we got a flat tire. Also a special shout-out to Mackenzie for her wonderful help with planning the entire trip. She provided so much helpful information from the very beginning and made the experience wonderful all around. We couldn't recommend them enough!!

Yelp
Rented a road bike on a recent trip to Napa. Everything about the experience was fantastic. Bike was in perfect condition, they set the bike up perfectly, and the pick up and drop off experience was awesome. Definitely recommend without any hesitation. They'll be my "go to" bike shop for future visits for sure!
google avatar

Jragon U.

Yelp
Nice and make sure everything check and nice ride too. I did rent for overnight. Good price able.

Adam W.

Yelp
Hands down the best bike rental experience I have ever had. The team was friendly, fast, and professional. The Yountville rental shop was right in town, very clean, with everything you may need for your biking adventure. The bikes were top of the line, though roadside assistance is included if anything goes wrong. A really fun way to explore Yountville and sample wines in the area!

Tori K.

Yelp
This was a fantastic bike tour. We had a great 22 mile ride around Napa. Santino was a wonderful tour guide who had a wealth of knowledge on the area as well as the best wines. The E bikes were so fun and easy. The tour was a highlight of our trip.
google avatar

Lisa J.

Yelp
We rented bikes in conjunction with our balloon ride. We upgraded to the e-bikes which is assisted peddling. That was huge! Super easy to get around without crazy throttle. I'd definitely upgrade for the gel seats! The customer service was great. They offered great suggestions to go on our bikes. They have different options based on if we wanted to go on the road or the wine trail. The bikes were well maintained. The man who helped us made sure we understood how to use the bikes and we were all set. Renting bikes and riding around was so fun!! I highly recommend doing this. We were mostly on the wine trail which felt safe. We biked to 2 wineries and were able to lock up our bikes and explore. This company was easy to work with. They had us down for the wrong date for some reason and made the adjustment no problem. Really appreciated that.
google avatar

Tim O.

Yelp
We spent a wonderful day with Tom and our fellow riders. I'm sure anyone who has ridden with Tom will tell you he's one of their favorite guides of any kind, anywhere. The service from the entire staff was on point and they accommodated a variety of needs with our group. The ride was brisk enough for more experienced cyclists but only after Tom made sure the entire group has gotten to know their bikes. The tasting was a perfect setting, during harvest no less this week, and a really nice pace. The group got a chance to get to know each other, drink some wine and relax. We never felt rushed. It was a great day!

Yelp
Had so much fun on the bikes in Yountville and Napa!! I really wanted to experience the Napa Valley wine train, but based on the $$$$$ ticket prices, I decided to do something more affordable: Will Bike for Wine!! LOL. Would highly recommend, especially if the weather is in favor of outdoor activities. On our visit it was about 65 degrees. Rented a couple of Cruisers for the day and mainly took the bikes on the Napa Valley Vine Trail to see the vineyards up close and personal. We were lucky to see the train in action alongside the trail. I tried to keep up with it on my bike, but the train won. Haha! The $47 Cruiser rental fee is for all day: 8:30am - 5:00pm. The bike was equipped with a lock, basket, map, and a bike helmet. The bikes were comfortable and very easy to ride. After biking for 16 miles, we decided to turn them in early since we worked up an appetite! We burned enough calories to enjoy a few adult beverages and feast on some delicious food in Yountville. Ended up at La Calenda just a few blocks up from Napa Valley Bike Tours. Yountville is a walkable, charming little town to explore on foot, too. The roses were in full bloom in late May and the countless rows of grapevines are a sight to see! There are also large pieces of art fixtures along the walking paths. This area is just so beautiful!!
google avatar

Elena U.

Yelp
We rode 30 miles in Napa valley , tasted grapes, apples from the trees, enjoyed views, wineries and beautiful weather. Bikes are in great condition and the shop gives amazing service, highly recommended activity!

Kimberly W.

Yelp
Chris was very helpful for our first ride in the Napa area. The bike path along the vineyards to Yountville is so beautiful. We needed to stop by the Yountville bike shop and Cameron was able to help us out with one of our bikes. It was a very fun experience.
google avatar

Karen F.

Yelp
Fabulous addition to our Girls Wine Weekend. The staff was extremely helpful and the bikes, helmets, etc. were high quality, clean and well-equipped for our casual ride. We got great advice on where to ride for beautiful scenery both on and off the vine trail. I highly recommend it!
google avatar

Jody R.

Yelp
Amazing all around. John was a great guide. He was so knowledgeable about all the wines in the regions and the grapes. We learned so much. The winery where we stopped, had everything ready for us for the tasting and was so beautiful. The bikes were great, and easy to ride. Everything was well organized when we got there. It was a pleasure and we highly recommend.

Ann D.

Yelp
Perfect experience. We were sent to the Yountville location from Napa due to our preferences to what we wanted to do. Both shops were well run and very friendly. The bikes were super easy to learn if you're new. The map was helpful as was the local intel from their team.
google avatar

Jen T.

Yelp
So easy to rent online, show up and pick up at any time, and they give you pointers on the best routes to take as well as specific details about turns you might have to watch out for or steeper grades. Very knowledgeable and helpful! If you want to cruise around Yountville/Napa and work a little for your wine, rent a bike from here! Just make sure to bring a set of gloves if you're biking on the winter!
google avatar

Yelp
I was looking for a place to rent bikes in the Napa area and came across this place online. The website has a plethora of information which I found very useful. I really like how they provided family friendly bike rides in the area and gave reviews of them. So, I decided to try them out. I wasn't exactly sure of our schedule, so I didn't make reservations. Turned out we didn't need to since it was a weekday and there were plenty of bikes. Cameron helped us. He was super helpful, provided great recommendations on which bikes to rent and which trails to ride. We all liked the city bikes we rented. We had 2 adults and 2 teenagers. I like how you just rent for the 2 hours and then you can go and ride and if you want to stay out longer, you can and they'll just charge you the day rate if you go longer than 2 hours. The bikes were really nice and in great condition. My kids liked how smooth the ride was. We ended up riding the Yount Mill Rd route that Cameron recommended and it was peaceful and beautiful and just the best way to spend some time on bikes. There were hardly any cars so we felt safe and the scenery was beautiful. Thanks Cameron! Prices were reasonable and service was excellent. Helmets and bike locks are provided with your rental. Afterwards we went to Velo Deli and Pizzaria next door for lunch which was great and convenient.
google avatar

Jon T.

Yelp
We rented 4 bikes to go out for the day. They were very helpful in suggesting a route and made some great dining recommendations. Rode the Vine trail and some vineyards west of highway 29 and rode into the mountains a little on Dry Creek Road, then back to Yountville. We had a great time and I would definitely do it again.
google avatar

Diane A.

Yelp
The best customer service in the world. These guys were helpful, knowledgeable, provide us with a map of the best rides. The bikes were well maintained, easy to ride and very responsive. I would highly recommend renting from them. Plus knowledgeable about if you are interested in purchasing a bike.
google avatar

Joe C.

Yelp
I think most people come to Napa for the wineries, dining experiences and spa days. I came here for a great bike ride (then wineries, then food, then spa ). I preloaded a few bike routes from their website which gave me a great foundation to plan my day. When i got to the shop, my ride was ready to go (with a quick seat height adjustment). We discussed the ride options and we chose the scenic ride out to Lou's Lunchonette based on recommendations from the shop owner. Its was as she said, like biking thru a postcard. Anyway, the route was amazing, the carbon fiber bike performed perfectly and loved the personal service I received. Ended up buying myself a new jersey to remember the day. I will be back to tackle one of the more challenging climbs. Thank you for the great support.
google avatar

Kristie S.

Yelp
We had a fabulous time while renting these ebikes from Napa Valkey Bike Tours. Before leaving Napa, they gave us very helpful instructions and directions on both the bikes and routes to take for the day. I highly recommend this company!

Sushi g.

Yelp
Awesome day! Friendly helpful staff set us up with e-bikes for the Napa Valley Vine trail. Super easy, light-weight bikes. We only used lowest pedal assist when crossing intersections or needing to start up an incline or over a curb after stopping. Great way to start the weekend and plan to do it again next year!
google avatar

Leslie Z.

Yelp
Highlight of our weekend trip! Go to Yountville location and you'll be in heaven. Hubby and I rented bikes for a Friday afternoon - we messed up our reservation by selecting Napa location, but caught it in time and staff kindly switched, no charge. We are not wine drinkers anymore. Just wanted to take in some of the most beautiful countryside in the world. Nothing like a bike ride for that! Staff was incredibly helpful. Our reserved bikes and helmets were ready with our names on them when we arrived! We were given route options and chose the Rutherford loop, which was @20 miles total. Rode on Hwy 29 and Silverado trail much of the way, but the bike lanes are wide there and we had such fun! Stopped at Oakville Grocery (what a place!) for a snack and a water along the way. It was so cool to see all the world-famous wineries in person! The scenery was stunning - wildflowers and oak trees everywhere. Green, green, green after all the rain. Yountville is an incredible experience as well. Epicurean Disneyland for adults. So charming. Our ride, including the stop, took 3 hours. Wear sunscreen!! They sell it there, and some nice sunglasses, in case you forget yours. Highly recommended.
google avatar

Linda G.

Yelp
We had a great time on our half day bike tour. Our guide, Dan The Man, was terrific . We stopped at Monticello Vineyard and then Hoopes Animal Sanctuary/ Vineyard, what a treat that was. These guys are the best for bike tours/ rentals.
google avatar

Amanda S.

Yelp
Incredible service! The staff went above and beyond to explain the routes and vineyard options to us before we headed out on an e-bike ride. The bikes are super high quality with comfortable cushioned seats and comes with a storage pouch and space to store/attached stuff. We had a lovely day!

Gina L.

Yelp
Great experience. Staff was super helpful and friendly. We had planned on riding from Napa to Yountville and the staff recommended that we start in Yountville instead. It was a great recommendation! They recommended a specific path for us and it was beautiful. Made for a perfect afternoon.

Jeffrey P.

Yelp
Great day biking, tasting wine, and experiencing Napa valley! We would definitely do it again.

Mike M.

Yelp
Reserved online and when I got there the next morning our bikes were ready and labeled with our names and all we had to do was sign a waiver and we were riding 2 minutes later! Great service! And we rented cruisers and loved them.

Crystal K.

Yelp
What a great day! Highly recommend Napa Valley Bike Tours. The all day tour was awesome and Dustin was an amazing and fun guide. Lunch was delivered to the first winery and was delicious. Do not question this bike tour, you will have a blast.
google avatar

Bubble T.

Yelp
What a wonderful activity to add to your next trip to Napa! We opted for self-guided tour and it was perfect for our pace, which is 1~2 wineries a day. We got to take our time, bike thru some scenic routes and not focus solely on hitting as many wineries as we can. The service and guidance from Napa Valley Bike Tours was just right for the laid-back experience we wanted. Santino was great to work with and was very responsive when we had questions. The bikes are in solid conditions and well maintained. We would highly recommend!
google avatar

Lin S.

Yelp
My party of 3 other people rented bikes here on a Friday. We did not reserve, so I called ahead of time to make sure there were bikes available and there were! It is $35 for two hours and $5 if you want to add a gel seat, which I recommend if you have not rode on a bike in a long while. We came back early and biked for about 1.5 hours and received a discount, which I thought was really nice! The bike riding path we took started by making a right turn on Washington Street. I highly recommend this route! Once you ride past the homes, you will find yourself bike riding on the road with vineyards on the right and cows in the hills on the left. The vineyards were not growing yet, so I can only imagine how beautiful this scenic bike route will be once it is. Be careful on the road since you will be sharing it with cars, so stay far on the right or far on the left. Great customer service at Napa Valley Bike Tours & Rentals as well! Such a fun experience! Will definitely rent bikes here again if I'm back in Napa for that.

Yelp
Smooth check in and helpful suggestions, really listens to customer restrictions medically and timing of reservations for wine tasting and interests Thanks for a great experience only request, would be nice if there was a 4 hours option, 2 hours too short and not able to "get money's.worth " in 8 hours charged 4 hours would be just right
