8 Best Wine Tours in Napa Valley (Updated 2025)

"Napa Valley Wine Country Tours runs full-day trips to three wineries (typically including hotel pickup in Napa) for about $119 per person (with occasional $99 specials) and also offers private tours for groups; for something more extravagant they run a package that includes a hot air balloon ride, visits to four wineries, and a four-course lunch for $414—an upscale, unforgettable option." - Matthew Kepnes

Kevin was a perfect guide for our wine country tour. From the moment we met him, his calm and composed demeanor, set the tone for a relaxing day. He provided personalized attention without ever being intrusive quietly attentive, always available and incredibly respectful of our space and pace. What truly stood out was how he handled a challenging situation during the tour with Grace and discretion, ensuring everything continued smoothly without disrupting our experience. Kevin’s professional warmth and subtle charm made our day unforgettable. if you’re looking for a driver who enhances your wine tour with thoughtful service and expert guidance Kevin’s the one. Highly recommended!

George was amazing! We had the best time a few months ago for bach trip we were on. He was so kind, helpful, thoughtful, all of the above! Definitely use this tour service, ask for George! He took great care of us from start to finish! 😊

Really cannot say enough good things about Napa Valley Wine Country Tours. This is my second time working with them and both times were fantastic. When I worked with them a few years back, we booked a round-trip day trip out of San Francisco with wineries chosen by our tour coordinator. All was great! We had photo-op stops, a boxed lunch, and of course, great wines. Based on my prior experience, I reached back out for a 60th birthday celebration, and they knocked it out of the park. We had our own itinerary this time around, but with a bigger group, transportation was essential. Our guide, George, was OUTSTANDING! He kept us on track, had great stories, and his deep knowledge of the area was clear. Our group had an amazing time! If I could give more than five stars here, I would. They are a dream to work with, professional, a wealth of knowledge, and a ton of fun. Thank you to George and the whole team! We look forward to working with you when we visit Napa again in the future.

We were unimpressed with this tour from the start. The tour guide, Abe, thought he was funny and witty, but unfortunately it really ruined our experience. For starters, the photo on the website shows a cool trolly style bus, but we were picked up in a large greyhound limo bus, which did not provide a great vantage point while traveling through beautiful wine country. We were stuck in the back row of the bus, which has very narrow, upright seating, and got super hot from the engine bay underneath. Additionally, there was no water or hand sanitizer in the bathroom, so you could not wash your hands or flush. As you can imagine, this made the bathroom smell awfully like stale urine. To top it off, the entire time, Abe talked about our “chef cooked lunch” which ended up being very average turkey sandwiches, that were packed on the bus the entire time. Needless to say, it was quite the disappointment when were led to believe that we were getting a chef cooked meal. Some other things that made the experience less than amazing, were no napkins during lunch, not having air conditioning for the first 20 minutes of the trip, and Abe spending 5 minutes bs’ing at each winery, which cut into the already short amount of time we got to spend tasting. Which brings me to our last gripe... we only got anywhere from 40-60 minutes at each winery for tastings, which made us feel rushed for tasting, and not able to enjoy the grounds at most places. Unless you can’t find a sober driver, I’d steer clear of this company.

Google
I highly recommend this tour, especially if you have a group - we had 6 people. We were picked up and dropped off at our hotel. When we arrived at each winery (3), they were ready for us - the tour company made all the arrangements ahead of time. They provided boxed lunches which we ate outside, with a beautiful view at the second winery. Our guide was the best - 5 stars for Kevin too!

Google
Can't recommend this tour enough, smaller format than the trolly or train. Our drive made the whole experience, we went to three fabulous independent wineries. The price for tasting was discounted for our group also! Sandra was an amazing guide and kept us pumped with good tunes and cold water! 10/10 would go again.

Yelp
Literally had the most fun on this tour! Firstly, I need to shoutout our amazing guide Abe, he was kind, funny and soooo patient. My friend and I were so embarrassed running behind for our tour and had the whole limo bus waiting on us. We had to take the walk of shame onto the bus after being like 20 minutes late and we were welcomed with open arms by Abe and then everyone else on the bus. We had the best time singing karaoke and cutting up as we went from vineyard to vineyard. We got in depth tours at each winery and were able to try about three wines at each spot. It was the perfect amount of wine without getting us all getting totally sloshed. It was the ideal day in Napa thanks to this tour and our guide. I honestly can't wait to go back and do another tour! I promise I'll be on time for the next one.

Yelp
Had a great experience with Mr. Abe our driver. He was kind and funny. We went to three wineries and ate lunch at the second one. Everything was perfectly executed. I recommend this place.

Yelp
Helped my boss book a day trip in Napa and it was pretty last minute, only two days before and had nothing on the itinerary. Worked with one of the concierges and she was able to pull together an itinerary within a day for a party of 10 that included a small child (which some wineries don't allow) and find dinner reservations for a party of 12. Driver called a day ahead to check in and the day included three wineries and dinner. The party had a great time. Couldn't have done it without Napa Valley Wine Country Tours!

Yelp
My sisters and I all live in different states but make it a point to go on a trip each year. Never having been to Napa we were excited for the views and of course the wine. Our driver Zedan, picked us up promptly and gave us the run down of our day. He let one of my sisters DJ which was epic. Once we arrived at the first winery he asked to take photos of us at two different locations and every photo came out great! Black stallion had amazing wine and our server was very friendly. The second stop was the Pestoni winery and we had a blast. This was my favorite one, their was an impeccable view and corn hole and Zedan brought us a delicious lunch to enjoy with our wine. We were pretty out of it by the last winery , so thankful to Zedan for being such a caring and professional gentleman. His conversation and fun personality made this tour memorable for my sisters and I. Zedan is the man!!!

Yelp
We toured on a Monday with a full group! Our driver Abe was very kind, funny and professional. The first winery we stopped at was our favorite but the other two were great as well. We would definitely book with this company again if they change up the winery stops! Lunch was provided at the second location and we had Panera box lunches. Only thing to note, we got an email saying we'd have a 10am pickup and we got the call for pickup at 9am. We were ready so it was fine, but something to be aware of!!

Yelp
Love this company and the service. We use them every year when we go to Havana Nights at the castle and will continue to do so!

Yelp
I've utilized their services twice now and couldn't be happier. The first time around, a group of 17 of us rented a limo style bus with George as our driver. We were picked up at the location of our choice and it was smooth sailing from there. You could definitely ask the company to make you an itinerary or give suggestions. I decided to have my own go at certain spots. We had 4 wineries and 1 restaurant lined up. George was extremely flexible but also ensured that we stayed on schedule for our appointments. We even requested to make a last minute stop at bouchon bakery and he had zero problem in doing so. Excellent driver with a personality that all my gals loved! On our 2nd go around, we had a smaller limo sprinter which was perfect for the 9 of us. We had David as our driver. Also very friendly and flexible. This time, we left the itinerary up to them and we were delightfully surprised and happy with the choices. Prices are very reasonable. 5 solid stars and definitely requesting George or David again in the future.

Yelp
Abe is the funniest driver we've had. Good deal for having a DD and the wine was amazing. The first stop on the tour was my favorite and most affordable. Second stop was good, third spot was pretty pricey

Yelp
James was our fantastic driver for the day! He picked us up from Burlingame to go to Bouchaine Vineyards and we made a stop in Oakland at a commercial business on the way. Easy to communicate with and even provided refreshments on board while allowing us to connect our phones to listen to music on the drive. 30 minutes before pick up, he would send a courtesy text and was right on time. He was extremely nice and was a very safe driver, I hope we can book James again in the future! :)

Yelp
Thank you for hosting our group of 25 yesterday for wine tasting! David was our driver and was very personable and funny as well as keeping us on track as we had a tight tasting schedule. Would definitely recommend Napa Valley Wine Country Tours for any time we are back in Napa!

Yelp
Top Highlights/Lowlights 1) friendly driver - Murad! 2) great winery recommendations I do not have enough good things to say about this tour! I came to Napa with three of my best girlfriends for my birthday in mid October. We emailed a request for info in early September and emailed back and forth a few times. We booked our tour about 1.5 weeks in advance in early October. Our driver, Murad, called me about 5 days before our tour to get a feel for what my friends and I liked in terms of wine as well as our experience level with wine tastings and asked me what we would like to do for lunch. We stayed in Fairfield, which is about 40 minutes outside of Napa but Murad picked us up at our hotel right on time! Murad made awesome winery recommendations, brought us water bottles and was so patient with us even though we were being loud! We wanted to visit more wineries than we had time for and Murad had no problem driving us for a few more hours. This is an awesome and safe way to visit wineries in Napa! I highly recommend Murad as a driver!

Yelp
Very disappointing experience. Tour started 15 minutes late at 11:15 not 11. The vehicle was not a limo bus as advertised on the website but open-air vehicle in the hot sun (record heat) with a lot of wind going down Highway 29 at 55 miles per hour. No one's hat nor hair could stay in place and it was impossible to hear the guide, Glen. At the winery the bus was parked in the sun so upon return those wearing shorts got burned by the hot seats. 1st winery was small and interesting but we spent way too much time there. The second Winery was terrible. It was nothing but a small Tasting Room strip mall setting. The third winery was a larger more interesting looking venue - V. Sattui - but we were not allowed in because Glen had failed to make reservations there. He claimed this must have been a new policy. I spoke with the people running the winery and they said they were absolutely flooded by people that day and do not take large groups without reservations. When I asked them how long that policy had been in effect they said for quite a few years. Glen had no plan for the next winery and told one of the tour members to call ahead to another Winery to make reservations. That member rightly became very upset and said that was his job. Then the driver came up and said he knew someone at Sutter Home and we could possibly get in there, but many of the group were not fond of that winery and nixed the idea. Then Glen took us to Behringer and had us go in as individuals and not as a group in order to sneak in. At this point it was past 5, the time the tour was to have returned. We went to Castillo di Amorosa which was open til 6. That was a nice stop and earned the only star I could give this tour. We returned to Napa at 7pm, 2 hours late. Overall, I thought the operation was very unprofessional. One would be better off using uber or lyft and with more $ in there pocket!

Yelp
Working with scheduling our trip to Napa with George was excellent. George was super professional, WELL informed, SUPER experience and always very pleasant and helpful in every way. He set us up with the BEST itinerary. George explained everything to the last detail. No surprises. We were picked up in a beautiful Mercedes Sprinter Limo Bus which sat us 9 perfectly and our driver Kurt was amazing !! Professional, helpful, polite and went above and beyond to help make our day so wonderful. I would really like to thank Napa Valley Wine Country Tours for the absolute best service and they scheduled us excellent places to go and Kurt (the driver) was ON IT. Super professional. I highly highly highly recommend them. Excellent 100%.

Yelp
I'll start by saying that I have been on other wine tours in the past. You can find tours that include tasting fees. I would suggest finding those types of tours. Regarding the word 'Tour', this was not a tour, it was a shuttle bus. No commentary along the way, no actual tour of a winery and its processes and details, just a ride to a wine tasting. The wineries visited did not even do a good job of explaining their wines and the expected tasting notes. I have had 'tours' in the past that had lunch included as this did, but I expected a lunch served by a winery or something a bit more than a random Panera box lunch. The shuttle driver was friendly and accommodating.

Yelp
We most recently hired Napa Valley Wine Country tours to take us to a couple of wineries for our daughter's 21st bday. We had Abdel. He was amazing. He gave my daughter a hand made Egyptian perfume bottle when he arrived. Made us all very emotional. That was very sweet to be so thoughtful. Plus my daughter is a traveler. So it really hit home with her. She loves items from other countries. The gift was so sweet. Abdel put up with our crazy shenanigans and carrying on from 10:30-6:30. He was patient and very nice. We were so grateful and lucky to have him. The vehicle itself was beautiful and SO CLEAN. My daughter has such an amazing time and made sure to apologize profusely to Abdel over and over as our group got drunker and drunker lol. Definitely one of the funnest things WE'VE EVER DONE. We are so looking forward to doing it again with Napa Valley Wine Country Tours. Can't wait!!!

Yelp
George Perasso and David are top notch. They work with you in making special events happen and to simply create an itinerary in case you're not sure or need help. We've used this company a couple times now and have been thoroughly happy with the outcome each time. They're always on time, the vehicles are new and beautiful and they really know how to cater to your needs. I can't stress enough how nice it is to not have to worry about driving around the wineries and not stressing about what to do next, driving tipsy and being able to let go a little. Much appreciation for these gentleman taking care of us.

Yelp
Set up a private tour for my family with George Perasso who customized our tour for our requests. WOW it was perfectly suited for all and was easy to change when we requested something different. Schug winery was great to start with a great view and cool tasting in their cave. We all loved the flexibility for the rest of the tour. Robledo family winery was a great surprise due to the history of the founder and their influence with wine. The Mercedes van was set up limo style so the whole family could laugh and chat. David our driver was a smooth driver and cool to hang with during our driving. My aunts are already planning their own tour after hearing about our experience. I've recommended they call George to set them up right. Two thumbs up

Yelp
We took this tour on Sept. 13, 2018. Matt was our driver/guide. From the time we were picked up Matt was very attentive. Our tour was with 3 other couples that were fun to be around the entire day which really made the day fly! Matt explained all the area's we would visit and pointed out thing's to look at while driving. Our first stop was Andretti winery. (racecar driver Mario Andretti) Matt surprised us because Mario was actually on the property and we were able to meet and take pictures with him. We stayed at Andretti for a little over a hour tasting wine, grapes and viewing the beautifully designed grounds. Our next tasting was done at Beringer. The estate here is very nice. While we viewed the property Matt set up for a picnic style lunch. I must say the lunch was great! We all were served gourmet style sandwiches, chip's, mozzarella, tomatoes, chocolate covered strawberries and bottled water. After lunch we headed to Mondavi winery and we finalized the day at Chandon. I will definitely book another tour with Napa Country wine tours and my request will be Matt to be our guide. Exceptional service!

Yelp
I had a giant task and these guys were there with me from start to finish - arranging buses, drivers, and being so professional and also putting us at ease; so appreciate having found them!
google avatar

Yelp
Our driver Patrick communicated with us a few days prior to our tour. He made suggestions and was open to anything we wanted to do. He was a delight to talk with during the drive from San Francisco and back which took about 1 hour 20 minutes each way out to Sonoma and back. It was a very pleasant drive and he took us over the Golden Gate Bridge going out. He was attentive and we had a great day. On another note, there were some emails received (2-3) checking to see if we had made our reservation after everything had been set up. Not sure what the issue was but everything turned out fine regardless. I recommend them for a great carefree day in Wine Country.

Yelp
Jimmy and Tracy were fantastic. Far by the best customer service and amazing in putting together our itinerary. You're the best

Yelp
Glenn was awesome! It was just us and another couple and Glenn picked some great wineries to attend. He oicked the big everyone knows winery, a small family winery, and a hill top picturesque wineHe's definitely from the area and know alot of crazy history behind it. The "turkey sandwhich" lunch was a actually a crazy good spread of fresh fruit, veggies, and Mediterranean appetizers and the sandwhich itself was on a great french roll.

Yelp
We have been on a few wine tors and this was one of the best! The atmosphere was really fun and we were lucky to have a great group of people on our bus. At the beginning of the tour you are offered some breakfast items to include croissants, fruit, crackers with jelly and butter, and juice. We then started the with a stop at the Golden Gate Bridge for pictures before continuing on to the wineries. We stopped at two beautiful wineries in Sonoma and ate lunch at the second. Sandwiches, caprese salad, pasta, and dolmas. My wife has a gluten allergy and they provided her with a sandwich on gluten free bread that was wrapped in cellophane to avoid cross contamination. Desert was chocolate covered strawberries. We then continued up to Napa valley for the last two wineries and the headed back to SF. Note: at each winery there is a tasting fee of between $10-$20 per person. Some of the places wave one of the fees if you buy a bottle of wine. One way to save money is to just immediately buy a bottle of wine, roughly $20, and split it with other people in the bus. Great time overall!

Yelp
This was the best day EVER!!! I'm not joking; read our story below... The day got off to an auspicious start when my driver, Becci (like Becky) called us and said she'd be late. Not gonna lie, I was feelin' a certain type of way since I'm the type of person who wants to get in maximum amount of drinking time. Aside from the traffic, the party bus we were supposed to ride in was having some issues. Rather than make us ride in that all day, they went back to do a quick vehicle switch...Then, our LIMO pulled up and Becci greeted us with a smile and an apology; my mood quickly changed. The tour was AWESOME! Becci obviously knew her stuff, as she took us to 4 wineries, each one in itself a completely different experience, each one fantastic! She even knew the best winery to set up our lunch (which was great and included in the price), ensuring the most pleasing combination of peaceful ambiance and sweeping views. And our merry group of 6? Couldn't have asked for a more eclectic, beautiful group of people. We bought and shared wine with each other, sang songs, and got pretty drunk! And Becci, what more can I say? She basically became the sober musketeer of our group. Funny and filled with interesting tales of her travels, good at keeping us on schedule; she even brought my wife and I a bag we had left in the limo and THEN drove us back to our hotel in her own car! Had to tip extra for that, because by this point we were dizzy from a day of heavy wine drinking. All in all, the half hour delay is the only reason I don't give a 5, but it is without question a 5 star experience. Give these guys a shot when you come to Napa, you won't be disappointed!

Yelp
It was an amazing tour in Napa Valley. The tour guide was friendly and nice. The tour brought us to three of the most undesirable wineries. We actually snuck away for the last to run across the road to a better one. It is one of the best tours that I ever had! Highly reccomend it to everyone.

Yelp
Number 1 of 4 Reviews. On 17 June 2016 we were picked up by this companies Mercedes Cricket (think mini bus but very plush) in which 6 full adults and luggage for 5 of them to go on 10 day cruise. They were efficient and took us up to Napa for our tours for the next two days. Driver was excellent and kept us appraised of where we were and kind of a mini tour of The trip. Will use them again. Part 2 of 4 Reviews On the 18th of June did the Daily wine tour with them and Matt was our tour guide, driver, and butler for lunch. Very knowledgeable and fun. Recommend this to get your feet wet in the wine tour protocol and the great wineries of Napa. Lunch was super. Part 3 of 4 Reviews The 19th of June we did a great private tour arranged with George but ultimately driven and narrated by Stephen. Both extraordinarily patient and knowledgeable men. Got to see super wineries like Artesa, Hendry, Rutherford Ranch and more. If you get to do Hendry you will come away a bunch smarter about wines. Lunch picked up by our driver at the Market at Carneros Inne which was delicious. Part 4 of 4 The 20th of June taken by limo from Napa Valley to the Cruise Center in San Francisco in a suburban as there was only 5 on the cruise. Again great answering of questions and very interesting driver. All in all this company goes the extra mile to make you happy. Will use them again.

Yelp
I was going to rate one star but I'll give it a two star. Our driver was ok. He made several jokes and comments. If i only knew what he was saying. I kept asking my group huh, and they couldn't understand either but we all laughed anyways just to be nice. We went to four wineries: Hagafen Cellars, Roche Winery, then had lunch and stopped by Sonoma Cheese Factory, Jaccuzi Family Vineyards, and Viansa Winery & Vineyards. Snacks & water : in tour bus but its all from Costco Lunch was in the park: it was all layed out and we had to serve ourselves! Yeah more costco food. Had sandwiches, pasta salad, salad, caprese salad, water, and pound cake with strawberry. The tour was $89 person. At the viansa winery we had to pay for the tasting! It should have been free but whatever! I thought the $89 was too much and wasn't worth it. Some of the wineries were cool and fun but I am just rating the tour overall. Everyone was tired from the tour and he took a detour scenic route for the 8 of us when he could have dropped some of us 5 min away? The scenic route was to the golden gate bridge, China town, down down sf, Oakland bridge, passing Berkley, then hotel. Some people didn't tip the driver and he dared to ask the group that tip wasn't included And demanded a tip. By law we do not have the right to tip if we decide not to tip due to service. Next time I am not taking a tour. Research your wineries before going or rent a limo with a group of friends. Ask for a different driver when booking. tell them you want someone who speaks clear English and ask for someone entertaining and funny! Temecula tour is a lot better

Yelp
We hired a coach bus for our rehearsal dinner and wedding and both shuttle drivers, Thaddeus and Holly, got rave reviews from our guests. They were on time and organized while also being extremely accommodating and flexible. And from what I hear, both drivers were very friendly and personable and provided the perfect atmosphere for a fun wedding weekend.

Yelp
My husband and I had a great trip on the Napa Valley Wine Country Tour! We started out in San Fran, stopped at the Golden Gate bridge on our way over, and went to 2 vineyards in Sonoma, then 2 in Napa. The quality of the vineyards were low to average so I would not recommend this tour to a wine expert! However, I am not a wine expert and just wanted to have a good time which I did. We had a nice stop for lunch (there was plenty of food) and there were mimosas and unlimited bottles of water in the limo The only downside was the verryyy long traffic-ridden trip back from Napa. It would have been better to spend less time at the last vineyard and beat the traffic back. (At the last vineyard we lounged for a few hours, just drinking wine and hanging out) Our driver was charming, pleasant, and knew all of the people who worked the vineyards making the trip more fun! Overall this was exactly what we wanted-an easy way to see wine country without us having to do the work!

Yelp
Kevin was incredible - super friendly and VERY knowledgeable; also, he was clearly very passionate about local history and wine. A truly fantastic guide to the Napa region. Took us to really great locations, offering unique services and tastes. Lunch was included and delicious. Not lacking in the least. We (momma and two daughters) had a wonderful time sharing a tour with others. Highly recommend! Would love to check out the private tour next time we are in Napa, just to try something new with this excellent tour company!

Yelp
This year our yearly sister trip was to Napa Valley. We all reside in different states and haven't traveled due to COVID-19, so this was we were really excited about our trip to Napa Valley. For our winery tours, our driver, Zedan, picked us on time and gave us our schedule for the day. Zedan followed all COVID-19 requirements in regards to sanitizing, having his mask on, etc. The vehicle was clean and was cleaned every time we stopped at a winery. He allowed one of my sisters to be our music Dj which was awesome! We jammed out in the van while we rode to the different wineries. At the first winery, Black Stallion, Sedan checked us in, made sure that we had everything before we started our tasting. He has a great working relationship with the staff there and checked in on us from time to time. Our server at Black Stallion was awesome, very funny and helped us with our wine selections. Our second winery, was Pestoni winery! Once again, Zedan, checked us in and made sure that we had everything. I think that this winery was overall our favorite. The scenery was amazing, there are games that are set up in lawn area. During our tasting, we had a wonderful lunch that went perfect with our wines. Hagafen, was the third winery that we stopped at. Once again, Zedan made sure that everything was in place before we left the vehicle. Hagafen, another beautiful winery, very friendly staff. Zedan made sure that we arrived home safely. He is very knowledgeable about the different wineries and also about good restaurants in Napa Valley. He gave us some recommendations for places to eat while visiting Napa Valley. Zedan is very professional, has great conversation and a wonderful personality! ZEDAN, You're AWESOME!!!!! Keep up the good work!!!

Yelp
On our visit the one thing we wanted to do was visit Napa Valley and sample different wines and this tour did not disappoint. We went to 4 different wineries and sampled 4-5 wines per winery. The second winery was also a wine and chocolate pairing which was an unexpected surprise. The only thing is that you have to pay for the tastings ($15-25USD), unless you purchase a bottle of wine or two. We were also catered a delicious picnic dinner by our driver, Tom, which was surprisingly delicious. It was served at winery two on a cute picnic table on the grounds of the winery. If you bought a bottle of wine, good time to open one! Back to our wonderful driver, Tom. He truly made the experience what it was. He was fun, well dressed (that Napa Valley shirt!), educated and attentive. He truly wanted his guests to have a good time. The bus was the perfect size and since the weather was so nice he put the top down which enhanced the experience for me. And he let us put on some good tunes! I even had forgot my jacket and he took time out of his personal day to return it to me. I highly recommend this tour! Just prepare to pay for the wineries. The wineries we went to were Black Stallion, Napa Cellars, Rutherford Ranch and one more I can't quite remember the name of (it was the fourth winery and a lot of wine had been consumed at this point).

Yelp
I've personally used Napa Valley Wine Country Tours multiple times, business and personal... each time... nothing but the best!! We had the 18 person limo bus this passed weekend in SF.. fit 15 of us perfectly with some room for activities! Our driver matt was great! Punctual, friendly and took great care of us! Tracey the sales and event manager to book with, is nothing but a smooth transaction. Always a pleasure booking NVWCT! I will continue recommending family, friends and business. Can't wait for the next one!

Yelp
Pardon me, but his bus tour brings out my inner DMX. Let me explain how a wine tour turned our group of sweet women just looking to enjoy their day into the Ruff Ryders crew. We had planned to take this tour for my bachelorette party. My maid of honor planned it out, and booked the tour for the four of us. We were so excited. The description of the tour included a great lunch (cheese plate, hummus, sandwiches, basically a fun picnic), and they said we would visit up to five vineyards. From what we read the tour picks up their clients then discusses their wine knowledge and what they would like to see for the day and you spend the day being entertained and have a great time. The day started off great too. Much like a cable company they gave you a window of time (30 min range) when they would pick you up. They got to our hotel/motel/winecamp cabin within the window. The bus itself was a Mercedes van with a all glass top.It looked like it was straight out of Jurassic Park. That was awesome. So we drive and pick up other customers and proceed to drive in silence for 45 minutes. Because I have a giant headband that says "Bride", people keep talking to me and I make a few friends on the bus. And then we arrive at this huge castle like vineyard, Castello di Amorosa, and told to come back in 45 minutes. So this vineyard is like Disneyland with long lines for everything, and even though we rushed through a tasting, we made it back in time, but others didn't. So we sat on the bus waiting, and even though I thought having half the bus covered in glass was an awesome idea, I realized that after sitting on the bus waiting for other people in the hot California sun is miserable. So finally we were all getting hot and cranky, and we starting asking what the plan was for the day. The driver admitted she took us to this winery just to buy her some time to plan the day. It was also her first day and the company didn't provide her with any guidance or agenda. So the plan was that there was no plan. Strike One. We asked to see what the lunch was about. Well, located in the back of this HOT AS BALLS bus was our lovely sweating lunch. A tray of the sandwich wraps you can get at Costco and lays potato chips. For $99 that is what we call a Milli Vanilii Production. Strike Two. Apparently some of my new friends had dietary restrictions and they went to town about how inadequate the lunch was. I should mention having known my maid of honor since college, she is the last person on earth you want to F&*& with. So she and one another group were immediately on the phone with the company. You should also not F&*^* with a group of moms from Denver that flew in the for the day and needed gluten free veggie lunch. I'm not sure the word for word transcript of what went down in these conversations (which were loud), but it went from the company trying to explain why things weren't as advertised because they no longer had a kitchen (this happened a few weeks ago they could have told us), the conversation went from making excuses to "fine, don't get back on the bus then". Strike Three. We out. So basically, the bus left without half of us (we left a tip for the driver that looked like she was having a bad day). So about 8 of us left the bus, and planned to take Lyfts to meet at wineries we picked out for ourselves. The rest of the day went fantastically and drunkenly. We did catch up the people we left behind at another winery. They mentioned they had enough and decided to not get back on the bus too. As far as I know the company refunded our payment, but it took some strong words and a bit of raising our voices, cause that's how Ruff Ryders roll.

Yelp
I wrote the following review directly to the company via email and had the MOST disappointing response via email as well. (Note that in my original review I noted an allergy to tomato and they responded apologizing about not being able to provide a "gluten- free" meal when all I was noting was that they didn't provide me an opportunity to note my allergy and therefore couldn't eat the pasta or salad both of which had tomatoes) "Wanted to send you a review on the tour that myself and my friend took on 11/8. Our driver/guide Paul was great. What was disappointing was the first stop Grigich winery was literally the WORST wine experience I've ever had and I've been to hundreds of wineries. First it was filthy, second the wine tasting felt rushed...almost as if they didn't have time for us...We were there for 45 minutes and were done tasting in less than 10. The second winery, which although was beautiful grounds was also a MASSIVE disappointment. (inglenook) Why would you bring us to a place and not even make reservations for us to partake in a wine tasting experience? They had "no room" for additional tasters. We instead bought a bottle of wine which was very good but we didn't get to taste anything to know otherwise. (We likely would've bought more wine but didn't have the opportunity to try any for this to happen) From there the tour got much better. The Rutherford Estates was wonderful. Great customer service. My frustration was with the lunch. I am deathly allergic to tomatoes (anaphalaxis) and wasn't informed to let anyone know about food allergies. So as a result by the time I went to get lunch I was only able to eat what was left of the lunch meat and cheese. Needless to say although Paul and the others on our tour made the day wonderful I will NOT be recommending this experience. " Response: "Thank you for taking the time to write to us. It is from communications such as yours that we learn what our guests think of our tours. We are sorry that you were disappointed with Grgich Hills. Paul was very surprised that you didn't enjoy the experience there as he has taken guests there for many years and never had a complaint. He will take a closer look at the experience there. Inglenook rarely has room for "day-of" appointments, but always has room in their bistro for tasting, which is what Paul had in mind for your group. We are sorry that did not meet your expectations. As for your food allergies, your reservationist should have told you that we do not provide a gluten-free lunch. People who require a gluten-free lunch are asked to bring their own lunch and supplement that with what they can eat of our lunch. I apologize that we did not make that clear to you. From now on, we will be sure to discuss dietary restrictions with our guests when they make a reservation."

Yelp
There was no limo. Mimosas were scarce. This was a good value. Three vehicles pulled up. The other two pulled off nearly empty as the driver of my bus continued to squeeze people on. We strangers just kept looking at each other with "Idk where they're going!" faces. It was a very tight fight for such a long ride. The bus was nice. It had TV screens and a sound system but the driver didn't want to turn it on because he has gotten negative reviews from ppl who say they don't want music. My friends got up and turned the music on. #RowdyGirls The continental breakfast was plentiful so no need to eat ahead of time. There was plenty of bread, cheese, and fruit to fill me up. There wasn't, however, enough mimosa! A mimosa breakfast is not 1/2 glass of mimosa. I was a big fan of voting 1/2 of the people off the bus so that the rest of us could at least have a full glass! We stopped to take photos of the Golden Gate Bridge. The driver also took us to see Lombard street and pointed out other notable sites along the way. I don't remember the driver's name but I've included a photo. I don't remember the driver's name because he changed it every hour! This guy was hilarious in an "Is he serious?" kind of way! I remember at one point he was Achmad and running from the law. Later, he was a gourmet chef to whom we were supposed to say very good things about our driver while being served lunch. The lunch picnic was very nice! By then, we had visited 3 wineries and tasted 15-20 wines but that did not influence my opinion one bit. We had a picnic with some of the best pepper jack cheese I've ever had, bow tie pasta with sun-dried tomatoes and olives, fresh mozzarella, spinach, hummus, falafel, and a few more items. Overall, it was a really good value. We had breakfast, lunch, and a designated driver to four wineries (and a jerky store where we bought prosciutto). The tastings were included in the price and the wineries offered discounts on purchases to us because we were on the tour. Eventually, the somewhat quiet bus will turn into a party and everyone will be party BFFs. The last winery we visited had a live band and we all danced (some napped) outside while they sang some oldies but goodies.

Yelp
We did the $99 Daily Wine Tour with Abe and while I had a good time for the most part, I was very unhappy with the fact that they charged my card $119 because Abe decided to give himself a $20 tip without my permission. I find this particularly annoying because at the end of the tour, I thanked him for a good time and I tipped him $20 in cash for myself and another $20 for my friend. I called Napa Valley Wine Country Tours and explained the situation and was told that the manager would be in contact but so far it's been a week and nobody has been in contact. After reading the reviews it appears that they do this all the time. There are better tours out there, that go to better wineries and serve a much better lunch. Falafal with hummus, a crappy pasta salad and dry bread with turkey aren't exactly my idea of a tasty lunch. Especially when you are in the gourmet mecca of Napa Valley. ***Update*** Two weeks later and still no refund. ***Update*** almost 3 months after promising to return the $20 they added without authorization and even after responding to this post saying it could take up to a week They didn't refund the money. Totally unprofessional and shady. I suggest you avoid them. There are way better tours out there that won't steal your money.

Yelp
Amazing experience!!! The bus was comfortable and our driver, George, was great. Highly recommend this company for large groups looking for fun in Napa Valley.

Sandy W.

Yelp
The bus was comfortable and spacious for a whole bachelorette party. The driver specifically was 10/10 amazing! He made two pit stops for us and was very accommodating. I highly recommend this company and their driver George!

Kylie S.

Yelp
George was the GOAT! He made our day really special and kept us on schedule without feeling rushed. He also made two different pit spots and made everyone in the bachelorette group feel comfortable. I would highly recommend this company, specifically George. It was awesome!!

Yelp
This was an incredibly harrowing experience trying to coordinate a pricey trip with this company. They were uncommunicative, never connected me with the driver to make reservations or go over the day's plan, and were incredibly rude and unprofessional at all points of contact. Our group of 6 was forced to cancel the reservation two days before the trip because we still had not heard from anyone. Also be advised that their "advised" tip is in fact compulsory, and management does not allow you to book unless you agree to a 20% fee. P.S. - Really great hold music to get into for up to ten minutes on every call.

Yelp
We took the San Fran to Napa tour. It was Valentine's Day so I am not sure if that is the reason for the overpacked limo bus. The air conditioner also did not work well, which was rough in a packed bus. I would have rather payed $10 more per person than had that many people in a bus. The reason I chose this tour is because I thought it would be about 30 people. Our first stop was a picture with the bridge. It was nice trying two Sonoma wineries, then 2 Napa ones. Jacuzzi winery was amazing. I wish we had more time there. The family ranch one was also great. Madonna Estates was guided by a rude woman and had my least favorite wines. The Last winery had an amazing view and was nice to relax at. We felt rushed to get back to the bus after every tasting. I wish we could have spent more time at the first one or two wineries and just left later in the end, because we sat in traffic as the sun beat in the bus. We tried some good wines, met some nice people, and didn't have to drive. Our lunch spread was also quite nice and filling. Abe was a funny tour guide and seemed to try to make our time enjoyable. Please choose another winery besides Madonna Inn! In the end I am wondering if another tour would have been better. We had a great time so I struggle with giving this tour 3 or 4 stars. Just the warm, packed bus was a bit rough after drinking. Also the breakfast was a little less than expected from looking at pictures and the mimosa just tasted like orange juice. Maybe just do this tour during the week.

Yelp
To preface this, I am a mid-20s male. I'm not some old fogey. This is a good tour if you don't really care how your Napa trip goes. Other reviews tell stories of three couples arriving in Napa via limousine and having a wonderful and peaceful time. That is what I was hoping for. We ended up on the tour bus with a bachelor party as well as a 30 year old's birthday party. Both parties arrived drunk and kept drinking champagne the entire time causing them to become increasingly rowdy. They played dance music on loud the entire duration of the trip. They had a wonderful time. The other half of the bus was with people over 40 who were hoping to have a scenic and nice trip to Napa, instead they had a bunch of drunk 30-somethings twerking and shouting "F*** yea!" at the beginning of each new club song. The driver, Soccer (sp?), was nice enough. I was a little off put that the first thing he told us when we got on the bus was to tip him 20% at the end of the trip. I was also a little annoyed he didn't turn down the music at all. He did work hard though and was friendly. He did pour mimosas for us. (It's with Minute Maid and Cook's sparkling wine.) There is no information of the wineries provided by the tour company. They tell you the name of the place and to be back on the bus at a certain time. The wineries cater to these tour groups, so they are not as nice, relaxed and open to exploration as other Napa wineries. I was not offered a receipt after I signed the bill. I tipped $20 on the bill, and $10 in cash. That is what I felt comfortable tipping after having a sweaty, half naked and drunk 30 something group of people dance on me the entire time. The driver changed my tip to $30 on the bill, and he still got the $10 in cash. After calling the company a few days later they said they would refund me, but that has not happened and I don't think it will. Oh well. I suggest instead spending your $100 on a rental car, or hell, even hire a private driver or get Uber to take you there and go to some wineries that are not set up for 50 people to come in at once and get drunk. You will have a much nicer time, unless it's your 30 year birthday and you want to get sweaty and dance on some old people.

Yelp
"The Most Amazing Day In My 10 Days Trip!!!" Review wrote on Aug 31, 2013 - Tripadvisor First thing I have to say: ABE, YOU ROCK!!!! My friend came to visit me from Brazil and we decided to go on a trip starting from Disneyland 1 day, San diego 2 days, Vegas 2 days, San Francisco 4 days, Napa 1 Day tour, Monterrey and Carmel 2 Days, coming back to LA, where I live and all I have to say is this tour made my trip worth a 100% more. ABE is a safe driver, funny guide, and an amazing chef; Not kidding, he is F-A-N-T-A-S-T-I-C!!!!!!!!!!!!! Everything was so perfect and nice that even in a romantic tour like this, two mid-twenties single girls had so much fun.I was literally drunk after the second winery because you can taste even more wines when you go to the store after the tasting tour and buy some bottles, so I bought a lot, which means that I tasted as much as well,LOL. The wineries offer amazing wines, but I was more curious to go to the traditional wineries, the oldest ones, or the most famous, and I am not sure that any in this list was a top list winery, but they are really good! I also wanted to go to the castle winery, but I could not find any tour to there, which frustrated me a bit, and made me expect much less from this tour, but all I can say is that I went back to SF 100% completely satisfied. My favorite winery is without any doubts JACUZZI Winery, so as the first one you dont really want to purchase the wines there, but is the best wine from all and now one of my favorites too. I would suggest you to try there the Valeriano, which is their top wine, they dont really promote this wine because the demand is already higher than what they are able to produce, but ask them specifically for that wine, and you will be able to purchase it. It is the most expensive wine there, but it worth every penny. The other wine at Jacuzzi, which I loved and brought a bottle home too was the Barbera that is terrific!! Well, the best tip of all: Ask at the Jacuzzi Winery store about the chocolate cups filled with tequila and dessert wine, OMG, I totally regret that I didn't bring that home, but you can definitely try that there and if they don't offer you, ask for it :) The only Cons in this tour is the bus, which is a party limo bus type, and I would rather have a regular seats bus, which I think it would be more comfortable for my nap back to the city,LOL =) BEST EXPERIENCE EVER!!!!!!!! I want to go back to Napa every month and have Abe as my guide every time FOR SURE!!!! LOVED IT!!!!

Yelp
We love this company! We've done two tours with them. Their service is unparalleled. Patty in the office is super attentive, thorough and goes above and beyond. Not only do they do the transportation, but they help with itinerary and even make reservations at the wineries. Our driver was really nice and personable. I would highly recommend NVWCT! They really care about their customers and ensuring a wonderful experience.

Yelp
I booked Napa Valley Wine Tours to chauffeur a group of 6 for my birthday party from Union Square to Napa. We had the pleasure of working with Liam and he was the kindest, funniest, most professional driver I've ever experienced. Liam called a week prior to confirm the reservation and then arrived early to check in with me before our 9am pick up time at our hotel. Our tour got off to a little bit of a rough start due to celebrating a little too hard the night before but Liam kept his composure and handled the situation with the utmost respect. Our group of ladies threw several curve balls to Liam throughout the day and he handled each with such expertise and decorum. I would absolutely recommend Liam and Napa Valley Wine Tours for any event!

Yelp
We were totally new to the wine country scene. We were also staying in San Francisco and didn't want to find a way to get to Napa/Sonoma. This tour was perfect for introducing us to wine country and taking care of our transportation needs. Our driver, Abe, was wonderful and very personable throughout the tour. We did go on a Tuesday so numbers and overcrowding wasn't an issue for us. We would def recommend for other people new to wine country.

Yelp
3 of my friends and I signed up for the $99 daily wine tour from SF and I think it's safe to say that this tour is worth every penny. Our amazing driver (Abe) called us about an hour before the scheduled departure time to let us know how to find him in Union Square. I was pleasantly surprised to see that we were traveling in a party bus. Every single seat was filled and we departed for our tour around 8:30am. We made a quick stop at the Golden Gate Bridge so that people could enjoy the view and take some quick photos before we continued our journey to Sonoma and Napa Valley. We visited the following wineries: 1. Jacuzzi Family Vineyards - FREE tasting of 5 wines, olive oil, and almonds. Super scenic and very friendly staff. Hands down my favorite winery out of the four. 2. Larson Family Winery - $10 wine tasting (5 wines). We were seated outdoors in groups, so we got to mingle with other people from the party bus. You can play a game of cornhole or bocce ball while you enjoy the wine. 3. Madonna Estate - FREE wine tasting. I was pleasantly buzzed by this point and lost track of how many tastings they offered. Not the most scenic or interesting winery, however. I think the tour would've been better if we had gone to a different winery. We ate lunch in the courtyard (sandwiches and some sides) before continuing to the final winery. 4. Kieu Hoang Winery - $15 tasting fee for 3 wines, which is quite pricey in my opinion. The members of the staff had difficulty keeping up with all of the guests and service was very, very slow. I did not like the wine or the service at this place, but the winery itself was beautiful and felt very classy. There is outdoor seating available so that you can enjoy the views while sipping on wine. Overall, we were very happy with the tour and our driver, Abe. If the third and fourth wineries could be swapped out for better ones, I think this tour would've earned 5/5 stars.

Yelp
We were all pretty excited about this day and it was not what we expected AT ALL. The Jacuzzi and Heong wineries were mediocre at best. The Heong staff was just rude. The Andretti winery was definitely the best of the three. We all enjoyed Walking around Sonoma and would have liked to have lunch there since even this wasn't that great. Our driver Guy had a great time BLASTING 90s rap the entire way even though this wasn't the crowd for that AT ALL. Maybe invest in iPods for your drivers since his mix CDs kept skipping the entire way home. He also seems to be a part time theologian/philosopher as I witnessed him imparting his worldly wisdom on many of the guests throughout the day. After reading all the other reviews I wish Abe had been our driver. Oh! I forgot to add. This guy didn't know squat about wine. I ended this trip having learned nothing. Our tour guide didn't tell us anything about wine or the vineyards except what they were called/ OH! I have to add this. I found out I was pregnant after my family booked this. In Sonoma my husband asked Guy if there was any place that had sparkling grape juice or anything since I was pregnant. Well, in addition to being a part time philosopher, he's apparently a doctor too. Yup, Guy told me it should be okay for me to have a glass of wine, even though I Was only 8 weeks along.
