8 Best Wine Tours in Napa Valley (Updated 2025)

"If you’re after something a bit different, I recommend the Napa Valley Wine Trolley: instead of a regular tour bus you ride on a replica of a cable car (an open-air car, so pick the right weather). Tours leave from the Oxbow Market in Napa and the Classic Napa Valley tour is $125, which includes transportation to three wineries, a casual picnic-style lunch, plus unlimited bottled water and soft drinks between tastings." - Matthew Kepnes

Google
What a great tour of Napa Valley! Our little group went on 2 tours...one on the trolley and one on the Sprinter van. Both were so much fun. Omar was a wonderful guide...a local with lots of interesting knowledge about the area. The wine tasting and lunches were all delicious, informative and fun. I would highly recommend.

Sarah S.

Google
Omar was a great tour guide. He was extremely attentive and punctual and just made the ride fun with the music playing. The 3 stops we had were awesome and each was about $100 for 2 people per stop (be prepared). The lunch was included and was delicious. I would definitely recommend this tour. Omar provided some history about Napa and we were able to meet some people that traveled from all over the world. Highly recommend.

Rea S.

Google
This was our first time doing the wine trolley and had an amazing time! Omar was our tour guide and super knowledgeable about the area and wineries. He also gave us some great recommendations for food and other wine spots! Overall a fantastic experience, would do again!

Google
This bus tour was fantastic. We visited four different wineries. We had a fantastic lunch at Bottega, a Michelin star restaurant and the food was fabulous. Highly recommend our driver, Omar. He was very accommodating, knew well the region and definitely I joy tho drive us around. I will recommend him and this tour company.

Destiny Lee M.

Google
Omar was excellent! He made the tour personal and gave us a great historical view of Napa Valley, adding little gems of his upbringing in it. He’s passionate about the tour and Napa Valley and that’s what makes this tour unique and worth it. I would do it again! The wine spots are all so different which is also cool because you get to experience different vineyard vibes and wines and really figure out what you like. Even got to see some animals.

Google
The wine trolley was by far the best part of our visit to Napa! We visited 3 wineries, all with unique educational experiences. All tastings are optional and paid for per person, but many tastings will be comped/discounted should you purchase a wine. The lunch was at Bottega and was completely covered in the trolly cost. Lunch was FANTASTIC and so filling. Richard was our tour guide and he made the experience 10x better. Super educational, had stories for every house we passed it seemed. Will be back again and again, but next time with a hair tie!

Google
We had a wonderful time on the trolly tour with Omar. Very nice and informative. We loved the Castle and also enjoyed the lunch. Merryvale and BeWide vineyard were also quite nice. A nice trip, a good mixture of vineyards and a great host.

Google
My husband and I were on the up valley tour with Richard today. We had an amazing time at Castillo di Amarosa, at Raymond Vineyards and at Bougetz. Our sommelier was incredibly helpful at Castillo di Amarosa and customized our experience to our tastes perfectly. It was absolutely amazing. Maha at Raymond was a shining star and made our visit extra special. She is fantastic at her job and clearly enjoys what she does. We learned so much and had so much fun. (And the red room is *beyond compare*…. I will remember forever!). I didn’t think Raymond could be topped, but the team at Bougatz were great! It of course didn’t hurt that the owner is a native Iowan :) but honestly we had so much fun with Tim walking us through our wine tasting and teaching us all about the sights and smells and the legs on our wine. We loved the wine and the laughs! Not to be forgotten - Richard got us to and from safely and kept us entertained with stories about the Napa Valley and various wineries and locals. His stories were great! Definitely a great tour! I would recommend!

Yelp
Had a wonderful time! Unfortunately, our trolley had a leakey engine so we had to switch to a bus. But they were prompt and didn't cause any notable delays. We still got to every winery and had a great time. I even reached out and they refunded us a portion of our costs due to the unfortunate and uncontrollable situation. Good people, good company, good time.

Yelp
The driver was on time, checked everyone off the manifest, did his best to seat the parties together and get everyone back on the bus after each stop. It was a unique experience. The views were very nice. I don't think I'd do this tour again. We enjoyed 3/4 wineries but didn't feel like it was quite well spaced. You spend a little over an hour at each location and our group was concerned about timing so we couldn't relax enough to have another glass or really explore the grounds. It was nice but at no point did we get buzzed and it was a very long day of open air trolley riding. I think if each stop was 20 minutes shorter, clear times were given and/posted at the start of each stop, and the whole day was an hr and a half shorter, we would be talking 5 stars. As it was, 3.

Yelp
I was gifted this tour for my birthday and it was the best first wine tasting trip to Napa. I really like that the trolley had ample space for all the guests, the driver was very nice, and they provided water. Pros: - the trolley drives you around through beautiful Napa valley to 3 wineries and 1 restaurant for lunch - Castello di Amorosa was our first stop. Such a beautiful castle with amazing wine choices! -lunch is included with the tour with good pizza and salad Cons: - it can get very windy sitting on the outside of the trolley, so dress warm if you go during colder months -wine tasting is not included with the trolley price (there is a disclaimer) with tasting ranging from $50-$60 a person (nothing against the trolley as we already knew this going in) Overall, I highly recommend taking the tour and unique trolley ride!!

Yelp
We signed up for the Napa Valley wine trolley tour as part of our cousins girls trip to celebrate my 50th birthday. Richard was our guide. He had a good sense of humor and very informative. Richard was very knowledgeable and he has lived in the area for a long time. On the day we went we had four stops which included Rutherford, Hall and Jean Edwards wineries. The lunch stop at Ottimo alone was worth the price of the excursion: wonderful housemade pastas from Bottega next door and presentation of food was mouthwatering and delicious. Food was served family style and was so good especially after our first wine tasting since we had four generous pours. They even let us take all the leftovers which was great. Argula salad, pasta, three different pizzas and gelato or sorbet. We liked the tours at each of the wineries too. By the end of the day we were all laughing and enjoying each others' company. Thanks for a great day! Note that the price of the trolley doesn't include separate tastings at each winery which varied between $20-40. You CAN opt out of tasting and still enjoy the individual winery tour as well. If you purchase wine they waive your tasting fee.

Yelp
The Napa Valley Wine Trolley was a great experience for my girlfriend and me during our vacation in Napa. The driver, Michael, took very good care of us all day. Although the actual wineries you visit will vary from trip to trip, ours started with a drive up the valley to Rutherford winery for tastings, followed by a delicious lunch and tasting at Bottega. Next we visited Hall winery for more tastings, and wrapped up with Jean Edwards Cellars. We enjoyed some great wines and met some new friends along the way. The July weather was fantastic and we enjoyed every minute of the tour.

Yelp
This was a great tour! Brian was our tour guide and he did not disappoint. He was a funny dude and provided a ton of wine facts. He guided are large group efficiently and even gave a lot of other recommendations for our stay. I was pretty buzzed from the tastings, but Brian made sure we were good and handed out waters at the end of each tasting. FYI, this is an open air trolley so bring a jacket because it was pretty cold in the morning.

Yelp
Looooved it! April 11th was my day and I was gifted this great experience ..I went with my brother and it was my first time doing a wine tour The wine was fantastic! We toured 4 different wineries The food was amazing, especially the pasta and gelato Our Tour guide Richard was fantastic, he was extremely knowledgeable of the area and answered all our questions... He even spent time taking pics for everyone ...he definitely helped make the experience wonderful

Yelp
This was my second time on the Wine Trolley, and unfortunately, it was a complete letdown. My first tour, June 2024, was outstanding -- Richard was knowledgeable, engaging, and truly enhanced the experience with his wine expertise. Sadly, this time, March 2025, was the opposite. At the pickup point at Oxbow Market, Richard spent 20 minutes promoting the market (which felt more like a paid endorsement than helpful information). Once we finally got going, the experience quickly went downhill. At the first winery, we had to wait about 15 minutes for a bachelorette party to finish using the restroom while the rest of us just stood around -- not a great start, and definitely not fair to the other guests. We were already 30 minutes behind schedule. Lunch at Ottimo was the one bright spot -- excellent service and food. However, because of delays, most of our group had to take lunch to go. We missed the third wine tasting entirely, and the included ice cream was hastily thrown into a to-go cup. That wasn't fair to the group or to the restaurant. The final two wineries were okay, but again, we felt rushed. To top it all off, on the way back to Oxbow, Richard seemed to be in a foul mood. He stopped engaging altogether and blasted loud rock music, making it nearly impossible to have a conversation. It felt like he had just checked out. Overall, a huge disappointment compared to my first time. Richard -- if the passion is gone, it might be time to reconsider your role. A tour like this should feel fun, relaxed, and well-curated -- not frustrating and rushed.

Jason B.

Yelp
I was disappointed with the tour and would not recommend it. According to their website, "The trolley departs promptly at 10:00 am". We did not depart until 10:30 am because we were forced to wait for four people who arrived late. This meant that we arrived at the Castello di Amorosa 30 minutes late and while the wine tasting was a very nice experience, we had no time to tour the castle afterwords. For the rest of the day the tour seemed rushed. The tour guild only spoke to us about Napa and the wineries during the 30-minute delay, and for the rest of the tour, we received no commentary about where we were or sites along the way.

Yelp
My friends and I had a great day on the Napa Valley Wine Trolley with Brian as our tour guide! Brian really made the trip so much fun. He was very knowledgeable about the area and gave us some great tips on places to eat and visit. We visited Castello di Amorosa, Raymond Winery and Backstage. They were all very unique and fun to see. Lunch was great and nice to have a part of the trip. It's a really nice way to relax and take in the beautiful sights of Napa. We were also the first to get picked up and the last to get dropped off which had some nice perks (i.e. sit up front for great views and less wind and you get to be the DJ on the ride home). Thanks again Brian for a great day! Come visit us on the East Coast!

Yelp
Amazing Mother's Day get away! I booked this tour for myself, my mom and my two cousins and we had a BLAST! This was my second time doing this tour (last time was in 2016) and the tour was just as fantastic as before. I love how diverse the wineries were: Castello di Amorosa was very romantic and baroque, Raymond winery was very eclectic, fun and hip, and the final winery was very intimate and specialized. Our guide was excellent, service at each winery was top notch and the crowd we were with was so friendly - we all became one big family by the end of our experience!! Super fun time! A MUST do when you are in Napa!

Yelp
This was the highlight of our trip to Napa! After doing research on the best way to get around Napa without driving yourself we landed on the Wine Trolley. We loved that it was a unique way of getting around! We booked the classic tour which included stops at 4 venues, with lunch provided at the second stop. The entire group got to know each other very well and we were laughing like old friends before long! We did pay for tastings or bottles at all stops but lunch was provided as part of our ticket price. We knew this going in and were prepared to pay extra at all of the stops! Sam was a great tour guide and kept the vibes up all day long. The trolley picks up and drops off at a great spot in downtown Napa so we could walk to dinner and shops after a day of wine tasting. I highly recommend this activity for anyone visiting Napa!

Yelp
I booked the Napa Wine Trolley tour for my Wife's birthday. A few days prior to the date of the tour we were notified that we would have to ride in a limo bus due to the rainy weather. The limo bus was nice and added to the fun atmosphere. The tour group was a mix of people from all over the US. Our guide was Richard. I had read some negative reviews about Richard, which I believe some people just didn't get his dry sense of humor. His humor had our group laughing throughout the day. Back to the tour, you visit four different wineries/tasting rooms. The second stop includes lunch. The lunch consisted of salad, pizza and gelato. It was family style. By that point, the setup was great because the whole tour group was laughing and joking with each other, as if we had been friends for years. Overall, all the wineries/tasting rooms were good. I liked how some of the stops included lesser known wineries rather than stopping at the very popular wineries. We basically had private tastings at all locations. The reason this tour is 4 stars rather than 5 stars, comes down to price. I understand Napa is a tourist location but when you add up the price of the tour and the tasting fees, you're looking at paying around $300 per person ($125pp for the tour). I just think this tour could cost slightly less. At the end of the day, I would definitely return and do this tour again. I would also recommend it to friends.

Yelp
The trolley tour was fun. However, the tour was extremely repetitive. We heard where Danielle Steels house and the Parent Trap house was like numerous times. I think it would have been better if they played music for more than the last 20 minutes of the tour. I'd recommend this if it was your first time in Napa.

Yelp
I booked the classic experience for 3 of my gfs on Friday 12/1 for a bday surprise unit unfortunately the morning of the bday couldn't attend so me and my gf decided to still go. We arrived at the wine trolley location at 9:55am and the trolley was there ready to go. Our tour driver Orion was extremely chill and friendly. He gave us a brief history but after the first stop we got to utilize the aux cord and it was a vibe all day. We went to 3 wineries total and a lunch stop that also included an optional tasting. The experience was great but in my honest opinion $125 pp is a bit steep to also still have to pay tasting fees at each winery. It would be more lucrative in my opinion for the consumer to either have significant discount or tasting fee waved. Also the last stop we went to, i felt i was being lectured and the gentlemen told us to shush multiple times.... Read the room sir we've been drinking all day! Anyways outside of that experience it was great. For lunch we went to an Italian spot that served us pizza salad and pasta. I would have rated this 10/10 but they had us all share one pie between 8/9 ppl which i thought was strange. So they gave us 3 pies total but it was shared between us so it would have made more sense for 2 pies per pizza ( Margherita, meat and mushroom) per table vs 1 of each for the amount of ppl per table. Other than the price point and having to ask for additional pizzas it was a great experience!

Stephen C.

Yelp
Brian was the best guide. He really made the trip special for everyone, he was informative, engaging and fun! My Fiancé and I had just gotten engaged and Brian went out of his way to make us feel special. I would highly recommend the trolley for anyone and everyone! Such a cool experience. Thank you Brian and the whole Napa Valley Wine Trolley Team!

Yelp
The tour took us through 3 different vineyards. The first one was by far the best. It was in a literal castle and our server was amazing. He explained the wines as we tasted them. The grounds was immaculate and stunning. The wine tasting was great but not worth the 65 they charge you. If you can speed them up on the tasting take the opportunity and explore the grounds. We unfortunately did not have enough time to do so, maybe next time. The second vineyard is where we had lunch. It was a turkey and pesto sandwich with chips, salad, and a cookie. The Salad was AMAZING, sandwich was okay, and the cookie was great! The wine pairings were just okay but the gentleman who was explaining the different kinds was great. The vineyard was a little a Small but the inside was vell decorated and cozy. The third vineyard was great! As far as a tour and explanation of the wines and area it was fantastic! She actually gave us a break down of the wines and history. She also took us out to the grape fields and let us pick grapes and try them. We are in harvest season so the grapes were sweet and flavorful. I wish the first vineyard had the 3rd ones tour guide. THAT would be amazing.!! It rained while we were on the trolly. We sat in the back and it was very windy and cold. The driver (sam) was kind enough to offer us ponchos to try and stay warm and keep dry as he drove us between vineyards. The ride was amazing decide the cold and wet weather. Good music and the driver was super sweet and made sure we were as comfortable as possible considering the circumstances. Will most definately do again!! Already planning my next trip.

Yelp
One of our Napa days was spent on the Trolley Tour. We visited three wineries with lunch at #2. Way (Wayne) our driver took great care and safety in taking us from start to finish. A full day of food and various tastings from the Napa Region. Met people from around the world. Personally our party did not end when the tour did. Enjoy!

Yelp
In Napa, celebrating my Dad's 80th. Loved riding in the cable car. Beautiful drive to Rutherford Ranch, Napa Cellars, and Jean Edwards. Tasting fees were waived if you bought a bottle of wine. Rutherford was my favorite because of the tasting tour around the property and the wine. Napa Cellars was very family-oriented with lawn games. Great atmosphere at Rutherford and Napa Cellars. Barbara at Jean Edwards educated us on the wine process. Learned a lot. Jean Edwards is basically a tasting room that sources their wine from around Napa. Rutherford and Jean Edwards had the best tasting wine - Cab Sav, Rose, Chardonnay, Malbec to name a few. Sam was a great guide for our Wine Trolley Experience! Enjoyed our Italian family-style lunch at the Ottimo which was included with the tour. Would highly recommend the Napa Wine Trolley Classic All Day Tour!

Yelp
Read the fine print or just choose a different wine tour company all together. A friend of mine organized a little co-worker outing and I had to back out. I contacted the company right away but the tickets were non-refundable. I disputed with my credit card company and they did side with me, so I'm thankful for that. But, also be aware that the fee for this trolley does NOT include the wine tasting fees which are MANDATORY and collected at the start of the excursion. We were coming from an hour away, so we still needed a sober driver at the end of the outing, but apparently that's discouraged with this company. If this is the day trip you're looking for, I'm sure you'll end up drinking enough not to care anymore but I'd do a little more research next time before deciding on this particular tour company. In response to your comment: Oh jeez Mark, thank you so much for your comprehensive response. I'm not sure why on earth I didn't think to spit in a bucket instead of swallowing the wine. Obviously I have the choice not to taste the wines, but still get charged for them - so thank you so much for your suggestions for a non- viable solution. As my original review would imply, you are correct, I did not show up for this tasting tour because I did not agree with this company's policies regarding the mandatory fees. As previously stated though, I did attempt to cancel by email several days prior but because I did not "fully understand" what I was purchasing, I missed the part where the tour was non refundable. You'd be correct again in stating that I did not read through your website before booking the tour and I do take full responsibility in overlooking that. However, the review is simply to draw awareness to your company's policies so that others may not make the same mistake I did in purchasing these tickets in the first place. Thank you for your willingness to discuss compensation (months later after denying a refund the first time around). I'm so sorry that you did not read my original review fully and understand what you were responding to. My credit card company has already sided with me and I have received a full refund for this "situation." At this point, this whole thing is laughable, I just hope that the next customer reading this chooses a different tour because let's be real, this is wine country and there are a lot of other options ;)

Yelp
We didn't have defined plans for a Sunday in Napa so decided to give the Napa wine trolley a spin. The way it works is that you meet up, pay (or pre-pay) and the trolley brings you to 3 or 4 different wineries around the valley. you pay the tasting fees etc. at each winery. Important note... If you or someone in your party decides not to drink at a specific winery for what ever reason, THEY ARE STILL GOING TO CHARGE YOU SOMETHING. From what I saw it was like ~ $15 for a water. The trolley was pretty fun, it was kind of funny that at the beginning of the day everyone was so quiet and reserved but by ~3:00 the whole bus was laughing and having an absolutely wonderful time. I'd do it again, to different wineries if that is an option.

Yelp
We had such a great experience with the Napa Trolley winery tour! We started our wine tasting adventure at the Corley Monticello winery where the tasting took place in a beautifully decorated room. We were given some time to explore the winery a little bit and then we headed out to lunch. Lunch was at this cute restaurant. The menu during our visit were beet salad (so good), pizza, and strawberry sorbet. Our table had 6 people and we shared 1 big bowl of salad and 4 pizza. After lunch, we were allowed to explore the area and the little shops/wine botega. It was nice and sunny during our tour so we decided to lounge around outside. We then took a short (20-minute?) stop at the big Napa Valley sign and our driver was kind enough to take everyone's photo! You may also take selfies or group photos by some vines or in front of the trolley, etc. Then we were off to our last winery, the Robert Mondavi one. Our tasting was held outside in nice picnic style tables with the sun shining. We could not have asked for a more perfect day! So overall, the tour is $115 and is worth the money. You do pay for all the tasting while on the tour. The description does state visits to 3 wineries but it was really more like 2 wineries and then you do wine tasting at the restaurant so maybe they counted that as the "3rd winery"? I'm not sure but should probably be states explicitly to avoid confusion. Anyway, I highly recommend doing the tour. It's an organized way of doing tasting and you don't even have to call ahead and reserve a tasting time because the your company does it for you!

Steph E.

Yelp
I booked the up valley wine "trolley" experience and was so excited to learn about Napa and be driven around town. Needless to say, the experience was awful!!!!! The day before, I received an email from the company stating that due to the weather being over 100 degrees, we would be picked up in an air conditioned party type bus instead of the open air trolley. To start, the bus had NO AIR CONDITIONING. It was 104 in Napa and we were dying in there. No air, we couldn't roll down the windows, and leather seats- do the math. On top of that, the driver stated the mic was not working so we didn't get a tour at all. As far as the wineries we visited, the castle was amazing and the rest sucked. Raymond winery was weird, eclectic, and the wine was disgusting and hot. Backstage winery sat us outside and sadly, it was cooler on those picnic tables than it was on the bus. They were not attentive to our group and kept saying they were busier than expected. At the end of the day, the whole bus was drenched in sweat, irritable, and not buzzed at all. At every stop, I would check to see how much an UBER was to just get picked up and not have to deal with the bus, however, the UBER prices back to our hotel were astronomical so we suffered through it. Napa Valley Wine Tours- you ruined our one day in Napa. Choose a different company folks

Yelp
The Pride of Napa!! I finally made it back to the Napa Valley Area earlier this year. I'm in the area once or twice a year but never really got a chance to spend a good day in the Valley. Sure I've been to a few restaurants or Vineyards, but this time I decided to take a tour. What a great decision. I've been on many tours over the years but this one was really great. The moment the Trolley showed up I know I was in for a great time. Our driver was a really funny and informative person who really took his time with us, answered our questions and gave us one heck of a tour. We met in the V Market Parking lot and got on the trolley there. Our first stop was the incredible Castello di Amarosa, which is a full-sized medieval castle that was built from stone imported from Europe. The place is huge not only does it sit on acres and acres of grapes, but it is also really a castle with endless rooms and a maze-like underground which goes down four or more levels. We had our first tasting there and the folks giving the tasting were very generous in their knowledge and in their pours. I was so grateful for their hospitality that I paid for the chance to try some of the premium wines. We spent about 90 minutes there and got back on the trolley and went to our next winery, Cloe Pegas which is a very magical place. The Winery pays homage to God Of Wine Baccus and you will the Roman Influence all through the winery, its outside and its buildings and yes we had a very nice tasting there as well. Our third and last stop that day was at Markham Vineyards. I think they must have a magical wine tap that never shuts off. Markham sells their wine all over, and you can tell they have what seems like an endless supply of barrels, stored everywhere. This is truly a perfect stop on the trip. The tour was great, the wines were great, the lunch was perfect and just always when you're having a great time, it seems like it was over fast even though we had been gone all day. The Napa Valley Wine truly is a great experience. You will love it, I know I did.

Yelp
Brian was a wonderful trolly host. Very knowledgeable. He was nice and very easy to talk to. He made this a very memorable experience. We highly recommend this excursion.

Yelp
We had a great experience! Brian was our guide and he was great! We loved the wineries we went to as well. Definitely recommend

Yelp
Our wine trolley experience to the Castle and pizza lunch with gelato and two wineries was wonderful! Met some fabulous people, was educated by some knowledgeable wine educators, and had enough water, and bathroom breaks along the way. The perfect day! The temp. was just right! And what made our experience pleasurable was our friendly, fun, kind, and local wine country historian, Brian! Sincerely, Christine and Tim M.

Tracey B.

Yelp
Wonderful tour, wonderful wines. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable. The wine tastings were very informative, but plan on paying extra. Overall a lovely day trip.

Miriam M.

Yelp
We took the wine tour which was absolutely amazing. We visited four (4) great wineries we had never visited previously on our own. Their grounds were beautiful and wines great. If you want a window seat on the trolley, you should arrive early since seating is first come first serve. The branch seating was not bad and looking back, unless it is an extremely hot day, the window seat and the wind might not agree with everyone.

Yelp
Such a great way to see Napa and do wine tastings!! We did this for my friend's bachelorette party and it was SO much fun!! Our tour guide Richard was great. We got to go to 3 vineyards, lunch was included, but the tasting fees are not so you'll have to pay for those when you get there. Definitely do this!

Katie M.

Yelp
Brian was such an incredible guide! He was extremely kind, knowledgeable, and encouraged us to have such a fun day. It is one of my favorite memories from my week long California road trip. I would highly recommend this tour and to have Brian as your guide!!

Jessica T.

Yelp
The Trolley itself is really nice. Just...maybe don't go in the dead of winter. It took an hour to get up to the first winery. There is nothing blocking the freezing wind on the trolley. It was very cold. Too many people were on it to be able to sit in the inside part of the trolley. The restaurant we went to for lunch had really great food but NO HEAT. It was broken. There was no compensation or "extras" because of that. The last winery was at a strip mall. If you are paying $125 for the trolley and then paying for the tastings, I do expect to go to the wineries with views. The driver was kind and nice. The first two wineries were fine. Needless to say, we ended up having a nice time but had to have a fire to defrost ourselves when we returned to our hotel.

Yelp
Hi Mark. In response to your comment - an apology is not enough nor the tickets you offered us for a rainy day. Please send the refund if you have not already. There was not even disclosure of your mistake - you had my family and I drive to Napa when we could have stayed home since obviously you knew prior that the bus would be changed. Sloppy to not let us know and even more sloppy that you didn't count prior. My family and I will not be accepting your tickets, especially if that rude man would be guiding the tour. Do better.

Yelp
Pros: good pick up location, cool trolley ride, friendly riders/guests Cons: overpriced/poor value, miscommunication, driver/guide; lunch The pickup at Oxbow Public Market is convenient and parking is free. Like others have written, the cost didn't seem worth the experience. Because of a mistake by someone at the company, the driver said, we had to take a detour to pick up 2 riders at their hotel. They ask for dietary restrictions when you pay and I wrote in the online reservation that my friend is vegan. However, when we got to Ottimo for lunch, they did not have a vegan option for her. They said that they asked the driver if there was a vegan guest and he told them "no". Why ask when I already said that there would be a vegan guest? Why say no without confirming? They offered to make vegan salad and a vegan main dish after we sat down but the main dish never showed. My friend sat while the rest of us ate. What a disappointment! The driver was okay. He knew his way around Napa Valley and gave some nice history and interesting facts about the area. However, he mentioned driver gratuity/tip way too often and shared a personal story that was a bit negative. Not to mention that he was wrong about there not being a vegan guest onboard. We met folks from Florida, from the nation's capital, and from Albania. Freemark Abbey and Napa Cellars were great. And the trolley is a fun way to get around.

Yelp
My husband I live close but had never done the whole Napa Valley experience. So decided to for our anniversary. We loved having some explanation from the driver, Sam, of where we were going but he didn't give constant chatter. It was a relaxing ride and the weather was gorgeous and all of the wineries were great. Some of the winery fees were a little steep. The lunch wasn't awesome. My husband has a dairy allergy and so did another on the tour, and the restaurant seemed to be unaware even though we wrote that down when we bought the tickets. And because there another, neither of them got a ton of food because they had to split it. Would be nice if the latter of the wineries we visited had some food options for purchase. All in all a great tour but next time we'll pack our own snacks! Thank you!

Yelp
Ryan was a great guide today, educating us all on history along the tour. We visited Freemark Abbey, Napa Cellars & Jean Edwards Cellars. Each unique and all with special attentions from the winery guides. Kate & Grace at Freemark, Lance at Napa Cellars and dang I forgot the hosts names at JEAN Edwards! My favorites: Freemark has a great Oakville Cab, Napa had an interesting Malbec from 2018 (Best Malbec I have had in years) and Jean Edwards Petite Sirah. All had generous pours. For lunch we stopped at Ottimo's for pizza and salad. Tasted great. Pizzas are small but don't be afraid to ask for more. The team will gladly and quickly provide more. They start with 3 pizzas per table, 1 of each kind. They provided our table of 8 6 in all. They would have provided more if we asked for more. Friendly team and great food! Bonus: Made some new friends along the way! This is definitely a great way to take in Napa. Thanks Ryan!

Yelp
Such a fun way to see Napa Valley and visit wineries! All the details are taken care of, you just hop in and hop off. Wineries were great, lunch was outstanding, and the narration along the way was light-hearted and helpful.

Yelp
Our driver was amazing, But there's something shady going on with this company and the wineries involved. We paid top dollar to taste at some of these wineries, but we were served the wine the wineries cannot get rid of. We paid the same price for crap wine all day, and I mean crap wine while these wineries offered premium wine (not what we got) for the same price to patrons outside of our group. This is a complete scam and you won't be experiencing the wine Napa has to offer: you'll experience what Napa can't sell at your expense. All the wine we got all day was complete crap,.. I went to the tasting room and wondered why it was so busy when the wine tasted like how a dirty horse smelled.there you have it,,, see photo attached! SCAM!!!! FYI, Nobody bought wine on my tour. I didn't buy a single bottle because what you served was crap. The wine you tried to fool us with, is Not even good enough to cook with. You should be ashamed of yourselves for what you're doing.

Yelp
We had sooo much fun on the wine trolley! Our groups combined by the second stop and we ended up hanging out with them the rest of the night! It was beautiful being in the open air trolley going through the vineyards (a bit chilly in the AM though- bring a jacket!). The last winery stop had an unfortunate turn of events because the sommelier tried to get everyone to end their tasting early because we (a group of 15 people) were being too loud inside the vaulted ceiling building. Still so much fun though!

Yelp
I had to change my previous review thanks to the professionalism of Catherine and Elisa. I hope I spelled their names right. They are part of the dispatch team, and they went above and beyond to find a missing item for me. They were so nice and took extra steps that They didn't have to just to get me a wine stopper that I purchased at one of the wineries and forgot on the trolley. The tour itself is also nice. They took us to three wineries in Monticello was definitely my favorite. The trolley is an experience unlike any other tour bus.

Yelp
From the start to the finish this tour was excellent. Our driver and guide David was superb. He was attentive and educational while being funny and personable. The trolley it self is nice and clean. The stops along they way were nice . Happy that it included the entrance , tour and tasting at the castle . . The included lunch was good. Really nice outdoors area where we got to enjoy the lunch. We will do it again agree recommend them to our friends and family.

Yelp
My husband and I came to Napa to get away from Reno and drink some great wine. From start to finish we had such an amazing time on the Napa Up trolley. Dennis was our driver and he was excellent! Very knowledgeable about Napa and wanted to help or offer suggestions on anything we wanted to do. We started by going to Castello di Amorosa. It was stunning and the wines were fabulous. Our sommelier there was great! He knew so much about their wines and was so passionate about it! We bought a bottle of Il Fantasia. Delicious. It got stolen but that is another story. Next stop was Merryvale Winery, where we had lunch and a few glasses of wine. I didn't think much of this winery and their wines. Service wasn't very impressive. Skip that place and go to the pizza place right there and get a cocktail and pizza! Next stop was the Monticello Winery and that place was excellent! Everything from wine to customer service. Last and final stop, Castellano Winery This was my favorite stop because Conner was our host and he was fabulous! Taught us how to smell our wine. This winery is not on the expensive end by any means but it is such a beautiful place and the wines were terrific and affordable. Just so everyone knows the wine tastings cost $25-50 each per person! The trip was so worth it aside from the Merryvale Winery. Everything about the Napa Wine Trolley was amazing! Thank you, Dennis and everyone for making our trip so amazing! An experience we will never forget. Our group that was with us was great (aside from who stole my bottle from the first winery)! We would do it again in a heartbeat! Hope one day to come back! 5's +

Yelp
Had a fabulous time on the Napa wine trolley with the best driver, Richard (0305). He was informative, accommodating & personable. Celebrating my beautiful daughters 30th birthday. Met some awesome people from San Diego, Vegas, Nebraska & the Bay Area. Went to 3 different wineries & had just the right amount of time to enjoy each one. Had a wonderful lunch at one of the wineries. It was a fun time and would love to do it again soon!

Yelp
First I'd like to say that this idea is genius - a fun trolley ride through wine country - brilliant! It was a super fun day with friends and we met so many wonderful people. The reason I am leaving one star is our driver seemed to be, well...disgruntled. A lot. At people who turned their yards into vineyards, at various people or corporations who have purchased the vineyards, at the fact that is costs $2750/night to stay at the Hitchcock "Psycho" house (& at the fact that it doesn't have a pool), at the Yountville USPS for having art in their landscaping, at Nancy Pelosi for having Secret Service at her place...in all honestly there were too many to keep track of. And while I did learn some facts about Napa Valley agriculture and viticulture, I also was surprised to hear a few comments that I thought were sexist, homophobic, and using racially coded language. I spoke to our driver afterwards to "call him in" on a few of the things he said, specifically as I was traveling with a queer friend, but ultimately, I will NEVER support this business again until this specific driver receives ongoing training to help him be a more compassionate person toward the diverse passengers he is charged with caring for during his day. I will be contacting management directly, but I hope they can support our driver to become a more accepting individual at work.

Yelp
Had a great time on the trolly winery tour. We did the classic wine tour which included 4 wineries, a nice and tasty lunch made fresh and catered by a local restaurant, and an experienced guide with a good knowledge of wine and history of the valley. All for the low cost of $99/person. While at first I was a bit upset that the $99 did not include any actual wine, but the more I thought about it - I would have easily spent more using Uber or any other tour service. At least they fed us and had free water on the trolly. The wineries we visited we wide in variety and costs. The wine tasting fees ranged from $25 - $35 per person, so it can get pricey fast. One way to save money is to just get one wine tasting between to people. The other option is that most wineries will wave the tasting fee if you purchase 2-3 bottles of wine! We ended up getting 6 bottles over the course of the day!

Yelp
My friends and I had a ton of fun on the Napa Valley Wine Trolley. Sam was our driver and he was friendly, fun and gently kept us on schedule. We enjoyed our day with Sam so much that we did the Castle Wine Tour two days later. The wine, lunch and scenery were fabulous!

Yelp
My husband and I wanted to visit Napa Valley and just take it all in. I am not a wine drinker at all. But, after the Trolley tour I am. We even signed up to have 6 bottles delivered to our home in Jersey. The trolley picked us up at the VMarket. Gave us a ride to the castle. Giving us a great history lesson on the way. 2 hour tour of the castle. Gift shop was not over priced at all. Then we hit two more vineyards. More history and more wine. Lunch. Everything was great. Then we were dropped back off at the VMarket.
