8 Best Wine Tours in Napa Valley (Updated 2025)

"If you’re after something a bit different, I recommend the Napa Valley Wine Trolley: instead of a regular tour bus you ride on a replica of a cable car (an open-air car, so pick the right weather). Tours leave from the Oxbow Market in Napa and the Classic Napa Valley tour is $125, which includes transportation to three wineries, a casual picnic-style lunch, plus unlimited bottled water and soft drinks between tastings." - Matthew Kepnes

Omar was a great tour guide. He was extremely attentive and punctual and just made the ride fun with the music playing. The 3 stops we had were awesome and each was about $100 for 2 people per stop (be prepared). The lunch was included and was delicious. I would definitely recommend this tour. Omar provided some history about Napa and we were able to meet some people that traveled from all over the world. Highly recommend.

This was our first time doing the wine trolley and had an amazing time! Omar was our tour guide and super knowledgeable about the area and wineries. He also gave us some great recommendations for food and other wine spots! Overall a fantastic experience, would do again!

This bus tour was fantastic. We visited four different wineries. We had a fantastic lunch at Bottega, a Michelin star restaurant and the food was fabulous. Highly recommend our driver, Omar. He was very accommodating, knew well the region and definitely I joy tho drive us around. I will recommend him and this tour company.

Omar was excellent! He made the tour personal and gave us a great historical view of Napa Valley, adding little gems of his upbringing in it. He’s passionate about the tour and Napa Valley and that’s what makes this tour unique and worth it. I would do it again! The wine spots are all so different which is also cool because you get to experience different vineyard vibes and wines and really figure out what you like. Even got to see some animals.

The wine trolley was by far the best part of our visit to Napa! We visited 3 wineries, all with unique educational experiences. All tastings are optional and paid for per person, but many tastings will be comped/discounted should you purchase a wine. The lunch was at Bottega and was completely covered in the trolly cost. Lunch was FANTASTIC and so filling. Richard was our tour guide and he made the experience 10x better. Super educational, had stories for every house we passed it seemed. Will be back again and again, but next time with a hair tie!

We had a wonderful time on the trolly tour with Omar. Very nice and informative. We loved the Castle and also enjoyed the lunch. Merryvale and BeWide vineyard were also quite nice. A nice trip, a good mixture of vineyards and a great host.

My husband and I were on the up valley tour with Richard today. We had an amazing time at Castillo di Amarosa, at Raymond Vineyards and at Bougetz. Our sommelier was incredibly helpful at Castillo di Amarosa and customized our experience to our tastes perfectly. It was absolutely amazing. Maha at Raymond was a shining star and made our visit extra special. She is fantastic at her job and clearly enjoys what she does. We learned so much and had so much fun. (And the red room is *beyond compare*…. I will remember forever!). I didn’t think Raymond could be topped, but the team at Bougatz were great! It of course didn’t hurt that the owner is a native Iowan :) but honestly we had so much fun with Tim walking us through our wine tasting and teaching us all about the sights and smells and the legs on our wine. We loved the wine and the laughs! Not to be forgotten - Richard got us to and from safely and kept us entertained with stories about the Napa Valley and various wineries and locals. His stories were great! Definitely a great tour! I would recommend!

Let me start off by saying my tour guide Omar was awesome and without him, this tour wouldn’t be fun. Reason for my rating is because prior to booking this tour, I read from others that the “trolley” was broken prior to their tour and they were picked up in a shuttle bus or other transportation. Well lo and behold, I was told several days before the tour that the trolley was broken and another mode of transportation would be arranged. I kinda suspected this could also happen to me based on prior reviews and it in fact did. Regardless the transport bus was comfortable and nice. The tour starts off at the castle tour which is amazing, the views the tasting all of it. Then we got to lunch at a pizza spot which was OK but there are way better options elsewhere. Then the other two tours are OK. There aren’t really any views. The tastings were good but no views for photo ops or anything and I feel like if you have 450 Wineries in this region , maybe you can select some that have amazing views or a higher rating/ more prominently known wineries than these last two on the tour. All my photos are from the first stop. Next time I will be just going to wineries I want to visit by driving myself instead of going to ones I am not interested in. I was told I would receive some type of refund for the “trolley” mishap but I haven’t heard anything about it.
