The Essential Guide to Naples, Florida

"When temperatures dip and it’s not a beach day, this zoo hits the spot; our New England-based family gravitates to the cheetahs and capybaras, laughs at rogue white ibis stalking crumbs around the two cafés, and leaves with stuffed giraffes or other animal-themed souvenirs from the gift shop." - Travel + Leisure Editors

Who doesn’t like a zoo, this place was beautiful, it felt more like a tropical forest walk, most of the animals weee sleeping when we came through but it was enjoyable just to walk around. The grounds are clean and well organized, the staff were friendly and informative. As we entered there was a wonderful lady at a table showing and explaining the alligator skins. They say you learn something new every day, well I did learn a lot that day. We were there during the day in early November, it wasn’t crowded and the weather was perfect.

Google
Wow! Best time to go is in the morning and head straight for the boat to see the monkeys! They are most vocal and active then! The cruise was so informative and comfortable. The zoo itself was lush and clean. The staff truly love their jobs. Feed the giraffe! So many beautiful animals and vwry well taken care of!

Kristie P.

Google
Good zoo, large spaces for each animal, and the alligator feeding show was informative and interesting. The zoo wasn’t as large as we expected, compared to a lot of others. It very crowded today so we didn’t get to see all the exhibits. Still it was easy to get in and out, caretakers were informative, knowledgeable and good natured.

We went a couple of years ago and there was a lot of construction happening. We weren’t very impressed, as I kept making the joke that the zoo was filled with animals that walked onto the property that day. But the construction is done and the updates are very nice. It feels like a real zoo and not just cages, and they have more animals than the alligators, snakes, and turtles we saw last time. The feed the giraffes was fun and a great photo opportunity. My five year-old daughter probably talked to the zoo keeper about giraffes for 10-15 mins, and she was so pleasant and enthusiastic. Take lots of your own photos. Glad we did because we went to their professional photo stand to look at the pictures they took, but the pricing was so outrageous, we didn’t even bother to look at the shots. This has to be addressed. I loved the orangutans. The boat ride is a must of coarse, the boat captain makes the trip fun and informative. We didn’t try the cafe, but they have lots of drink and snack stands throughout. My daughter loved the honey badgers the most, so guess who came home with a honey badger stuffed animal. Last point of feedback, the senior citizen discount is insulting, better to not offer one than to act like you do with $.50 off a ticket.

Google
This local Zoo is a fun place to visit. A half day will get you through the entire place, but it has a lot of exhibits. Many cats, birds, reptiles and yes Monkey islands best viewed by the boats which are included. Wanna see huge Florida Alligators? They're here, and yes very big. (No close encounters). 😃 Here's a small sample of what's in store for your arrival. Btw, there's lots explanations about the 7 million plants here too! Hint: There's some really old trees. Have fun!

Google
Was a great time. You can feed the giraffes, watch the staff feed the alligators, go for a boat ride and check out monkey islands. Great time for kids of all ages. Pets are not allowed in the park.

Google
We loved the Naples zoo! It's not overly huge, but they have a good number of animals in the space, and they have some experiences that make it even better. The primate cruise is a fun way to see the monkeys, while not just walking, but riding on a boat around a man-made lake. It was so fun to learn about each of the individual monkeys on this ride. The other thing they offer is giraffe feeding! For $5-20 you can get different amounts of food and feed the giraffe right there. My daughter loved it! The walk through the rest of the zoo is very beautiful, it's well maintained, doesn't smell poorly, and highlights life in southwest florida. I also felt that the postings and information near the animals (and the viewing spot signs) really helped enhance the overall experience.

Google
I haven’t been here in many years and wasn’t expecting it to be very impressive. Boy, was I ever wrong! This is one of the nicest zoos ever. They have a very nice selection of resident critters as well as greenery. The staff members were extremely friendly and knowledgeable. It’s a great way to spend a couple hours! Check it out!

Yelp
I'm from Chicago and I think I'll forever compare animal establishments to Brookfield Zoo and Shedd Aquarium. However, Naples Zoo is well-established in its own right and I loved visiting with family. The exhibits are open enough for patrons to spot the animals while also staying true to the wild habitats for the animals' comfort. You've got all your typical exhibits like the giraffes, tigers, cheetahs, and turtles, plus some more unique ones like a Galapagos turtle, Floridian gators, Floridian panthers that were bred with Texan panthers to repopulate, and more. The monkey islands are my favorite exhibits simply because of how unique they are to Naples Zoo. The monkeys/apes/lemurs are placed on separate islands, and patrons can board a tour boat and ride around for about 20 minutes while the driver gives information on the specimens. This is a must-see, even on days where the line stretches around the grass area (trust me, it goes by fast).

Yelp
Kind of a very basic zoo experience. A lot of the animals were not out. I was done in about an hour. I was in a rush, so I didn't wait for the boat experience. As other people have said, it is a very small zoo. Pressable penny in the playground area for the children/kids. Parking lot with ton of space for guests. Shaded and undershaded parking available.
google avatar

Karen O.

Yelp
Very pretty environment, but not a lot of animals. When we visited, many were sleeping and not visible. This is understandable, but the cost of admission was a bit pricey for what was available. Very limited food vendors and what was available was expensive as well. It was fun to feed the giraffes, but again, the encounter was $$$. The animals looked well cared for, but interactive opportunities were limited. It looked like more activities were coming at some point. We shall see. Probably won't visit again any time soon, unless improvements are added. Staff were very nice.
google avatar

Kellie D.

Yelp
We really enjoyed seeing the Tiger. He was up and about! We also saw the cheetah, panther and lion, but they were all resting. I would recommend going on a cool day or early in the morning as the animals were more active. But, there are a lot of nice, shady benches all along the way. Definitely worth a few bucks to feed the giraffes!

Yelp
The 43-acre Naples Zoo was formally a historic botanical garden with many exotic specimen trees from all over the world. There is an abundance of foliage, shrubs, flowers and shaddy trees to take cover under. Over the years they have added several lakes and winding pathways that have water fountains and benches. You will encounter many birds and ducks as you take your stroll through the Zoo. Naples Zoo is just large enough for toddlers to casually walk around without getting too tired. You are permitted to bring your personal stroller/ wagon and lunch, snacks and beverages. I highly recommend you do, the cost to rent their wagon is at least $16.00. Rip off that I was a victim of once. Foolish me! Lol There is also a spacious outdoor picnic area with tables to comfortably eat your lunch. Included in your general admission is the 20 minute catamaran Primate Expedition Cruise around Lake Victoria. During the tour you are required to remain seated and no food allowed. The boat slowly cruises around the small islands throughout the lake for spectators to observed the different species of monkeys. I wish their was a very large monkey enclosure for families to enjoy without taking the catamaran ride. Not all children want to sit motionless on a boat. I was relieved that Hudson said " no boat grandma" when I asked him if he wanted to see the monkeys on our 2nd visit to the Zoo. During our visit we were pleased to see flamingos, alligators, tigers, lions, cheetahs and Athena , a Florida panther. Athena was found after being abandoned by her mother. After several attempts to reunite with her mother had failed, she was brought to the Naples Zoo at one month old. A sad story with a happy ending. I was looking forward to visiting the honey badgers and bear but that didn't work out because they were sleeping out of sight. Hudson gets such a kick out of the giant graceful giraffes. You may feed them if you purchase their food. I do enjoy visiting this Zoo with my precious Hudson but we seem to drop by on the hot and humid days when most animals are too hot and exhausted to mingle. Winter would probably be the best time to visit. Maybe the 3rd time will be the charm. At the Zoo exit there is a wonderful and safe playground that is fenced and gated. Little Cafe too. Enjoy a cup of coffee while watching the children play. BEWARE of the astronomically overpriced gift shop , they try to get you going in and leaving. I was spared by bribing Hudson with ice cream! To each his own, enjoy, smile and have a great time! 2024 prices: Adult (13-64) $26.95 Child (3-12) $17.95 Infant (2 or under) Free Senior (65+) $25.95

Yelp
Overall, it is a cute and well maintained zoo. The property is maintained well and the staff were all very friendly and knowledgeable. There are some highlights like the primate boat ride and the giraffe feeding. However, many of the enclosures were so tiny and it felt wrong. In particular the giraffes and zebras were in teeny enclosure where they could never run around.
google avatar

Melissa W.

Yelp
Touted as one of the key attractions in Naples, I'm surprised at how small the zoo is. The property is lush and green, and clearly all the animals are treated well, but a larger variety would have been appreciated. Especially in the heat, a lot of the animals were snoozing. At $27/adult, tickets are steep (MustDo provides $1.50 off coupons). All the staff were very kind. If we were local, I'd buy any an annual membership and go regularly but as a tourist, it's not a must-see.
google avatar

Lindsay Y.

Yelp
All I can say is honey badger! Those honey badgers are some of the cutest creatures I have ever laid eyes on. My 3 and 1/2 year old niece would definitely agree. She was throughly engrossed in watching them run in circles for a good 30 minutes. I also loved the beautiful tiger, the ant eater and feeding the exquisite giraffe. No, I do not agree with locking wild animals in cages, but their enclosures were super clean and spacious. We had a wonderful time and will be back!
google avatar

Theresa C.

Yelp
Again, not expecting much from the zoo. So, the animals okay maybe not the biggest variety but there's tons of things going on to entertain kids. Monkey boat cruise was a hit with the kids. Seeing monkeys not in cages and jumping from trees. The stunt comedian kept my kids attention and was funny for adults as well. They had a bunch of events in the morning that day including face painting. Alligator feeding was interesting as well. Playground was good while we waited for lunch. Lunch options a little limited but I liked the QR code ordering option. Free parking. Fun half day activity if you are in the area.

Yelp
I love this little Zoo. It is meticulously maintained, very clean and well taken care of. The grounds and the animals are well cared for. The staff are tremendously friendly and there are several fun activities for kids. It's a great place to spend the day. Lots of educational resources to explain how to be a better and more thoughtful consumer, the zoo is a non-profit and they do a lot of conservation.
google avatar

Yelp
Great zoo especially for younger kids. It's just the right size without being overwhelming. They also have some interesting animals that are pretty unique to their zoo. They have my personal favorite- rye honey badger! The new orangutans inclosure is also complete and open so go check them out. You can feed the giraffes which is a fun thing to do and get a nice family photo while you're at it. One of my favorite things about this zoo is the boat tour around the islands where different species of monkeys live and roam free. It's great to see them freely run around and interact with each other. There is a nice playground by the cafe where kids can go nuts while you sip on an iced coffee and relax in the shade. The only thing I'm not crazy about is that you have to exit through the gift shop. I understand they're trying to make extra money for the zoo but it is a little frustrating having to deal with a kid who wants to buy yet another toy and you telling them no which can add in tears after you had a nice day at the zoo.

Yelp
This was the first time visiting the Naples Zoo and it was fantastic! The zoo was clean as were the habitats. There are plenty of animals to look at during your visit. They have ample snack carts out along your walk incase you get thirsty or was a cold treat. Loved the visit to monkey Island. Our tour operator was knowledgeable about the monkeys and the boat moved slowly so you could see the monkeys. My daughters absolute favorite part was feeding the giraffe. This zoo is a must if you're in the area or just love visiting zoos.

Yelp
This was a really nice zoo we enjoyed ourselves here, not too big and not too small some good diversity and I love how they explain how each animal arrived at the zoo. Really made us feel like the animals that they had were fortunate to be there and we're being cared for and saved and protected
google avatar

Yelp
Beautiful zoo ! Many different beautiful flowers and plants to enjoy! The zoo is not too big but good enough for a visit ! Nice stalfs !

Yelp
It had been several years since our last visit to the Naples Zoo, so my dad and Nate and I went while in the area recently. Admission was $23 for adults, $22 for seniors. I think that's pretty decent for this sized zoo. It's not huge, but they have some really cool animals that we don't have at our local zoo, like the clouded leopard, honey badger, giraffes, and of course alligators. We went in the later afternoon so many of the animals were sleeping, but it was still fun to see them. Nate participated in the giraffe feeding - it's $5 for a small clump of lettuce/leaves. They did tell us that if the giraffe didn't come up to us, they would give us a refund. Luckily there was one really hungry giraffe! They have a photographer taking pictures that you can buy for like $10 per photo, but you are also allowed to have someone take photos with a phone for free, which I did. We got to experience some of the scheduled activities like meet the keeper and the alligator feeding. Those were interesting and worth it if you can make it during the scheduled times, which are posted at the front with the big map. There are a couple of concession stands throughout the park for snacks and drinks, and a larger food stand at the entrance that is next to a big shaded pavilion with picnic tables. You can bring in food but not alcohol, but they do sell beer. The gift shop is cute and we got a sticker and some postcards. Overall this zoo is one of the better small zoos I've visited. They are doing some expansions which is exciting to see. It's not a spot I need to go every time I'm in the area, but it's a nice activity for a morning.

Yelp
We went to this Zoo because we were already in town for a wedding and we loved it! The staff were all very kind and they made it a memorable experience. Almost all of the animals were out and about when we went and pretty active. I was able to feed the giraffes which are my favorite animal :) We also chose to go to this zoo because they had honey badgers!! My husband's favorite animal and we've never seen a zoo that had them before. Everything was pretty reasonably priced too! Overall great experience and we would definitely go again!
google avatar

Nancy J.

Yelp
This is a lovely zoo with several fun things to do. Be sure to feed the giraffes and return later in the day for the talk with the giraffes zookeeper. Also take the little cruise around the Monkey Islands in the little lake to see all the monkeys. It is very efficiently run and free - about a 15 minute boat ride on a pontoon boat. I loved walking the grounds and will return several times just to walk- be sure to get an annual membership if you plan to return to Naples.
google avatar

Chip P.

Yelp
Loved visiting this little zoo! Perfect day trip for little ones. You can do the whole loop in an hour. High point was probably the giraffe feeding. Low point was only that so many of the animals were sleeping or not active. Didn't get to check out the boat ride, and they have construction going on that requires a detour to get back to the entrance.
google avatar

Loryl S.

Yelp
The zoo is absolutely beautiful. They have a bunch of different type of monkeys which you can take a boat out to go see The Monkees are trained to not leave the area that they live in each type of monkey lives in its own little island One of the monkeys has a pet stuffed monkey and he really likes attention and he's super cute. You can see him off from the side or from the boat. There's tigers and lions and alligators. You can feed a giraffe or $5. They lick your handle and they eat it's so silly. There's an alligator show where you learn that these alligators can come to their names. They've had a lot of these animals since they were babies. There's bathrooms located in more than one place and they take professional photos in a couple different places that you can buy at the end. There's some water stations which is good because it's really hot and then there's also a little area where you can buy food and drinks.
google avatar

Max T.

Yelp
Great animals and good zoo keepers great drinks and food except long waits and I recommend going at a not so hot day.
google avatar

Greg E.

Yelp
This is a small town zoo, with little in the way of interesting attractions. Built on the site of the original Naples Botanical Gardens, the setting is pretty but many of the exhibits are in need of refurbishment. There is a new section under construction that I believe will focus on an Asian Theme. There is a exhibit that involves a large pontoon boat that drifts between a handful of small islands set in a large pond. The islands are home to small primates. The giraffe exhibit is also nice. Overall, the zoo is a little disappointing, but a decent way to spend a couple of hours with your children or grandchildren
google avatar

Beth E.

Yelp
We visit zoos everywhere we travel as we love animals. This zoo is located right in Naples so it was easy to get to from where we were staying. There is some covered parking and also lots of uncovered. There is renovation going on, but doesn't impact you in any way. The zoo is laid out well and I love that they don't give paper maps, but have maps posted all over the place. The zoo was clean, had dining choices, lots of interesting and informative signs everywhere and the trees were spectacular. Now for the reason I came....to see animals. I was super disappointed as we didn't see much. I do like that animals get to live in an environment like they would in the wild, but when you can't see them, it's not enjoyable. The boat ride was interesting as you got to see the primates, but it was from far away. The giraffes were probably the best part.
google avatar

Ryan F.

Yelp
Awesome zoo. Not too big. Great to spend a day with kids before or after the beach. Really enjoyed how well the enclosures are made. And the old massive trees are really cool. Staff was informative and gave cool and interesting facts about the animals.
google avatar

Yelp
My hubby and I love animals of all shapes and sizes. Being from Columbus Ohio we were so spoiled with Jack Hanna and The huge Columbus Zoo and Aquarium & Zoomesy bay water park. It always takes a couple of days to see everything. Naples Zoo is a quaint , beautiful zoo which they are improving with more animals coming soon and plenty of places to sit and relax and enjoy the amazing creatures. Most of the animals were sleeping because it was quite cool so we enjoyed viewing them but didn't take many pics this time. While we were walking the zoo path we had a cute green iguana walking alongside of us. We were greeted by a beautiful white Florida bird in front of us...wanting food. Reminder don't feed the animals here. Anyway we really enjoyed the giraffes and watching people feed them lettuce. We enjoyed watching the alligators relaxing in the sun. They weren't moving but don't think you can go for a swim. They are always alert. If you want to see the many variety of species of monkeys here, then you must hop along the pontoon boat that takes you around monkey island tour. So many different types of monkeys. Such fun! We are so happy to see that Naples Zoo will be getting some flamingos & peacocks this year! You can get through this zoo quickly so make sure to slow down and enjoy this fun place. You may never know...you may have a little animal keeping you company on your walk about. We will return when it's warmer.
google avatar

Mahsa T.

Yelp
Like others have already said, a very basic zoo, with the bare minimum of animals. Saw more local birds than anything else. Quite disappointing. Take the boat tour as that was the most interesting thing to do at the zoo. You can be in and out in an hour, two if you go around twice. Not much in terms of food/beverages. Do take a hat and SPF, there's very little shade. Plentiful parking.

Scott L.

Yelp
The first point of contact was with a miserable lady named Linn! She ruined our whole experience and I regret not just turning around with my group and not even going today. She was so rude! And the Zoo itself wasn't much to look at either. We thought we could comeback from the initial interaction we had with Linn/Lynn, but actually the 1 star rating doesn't even do justice. I would give negative 5 stars if I could. And I WILL be telling atleast 10 people to never visit this Zoo as well.
google avatar

Hoa N.

Yelp
Not at many animals as well hah hope to see. It was a hot day and so most of the animals were tucked away on their shelter. It was fun to ride on the primates cruise to learn what kinds of primates are living at the zoo and where they had originated. They had little good stands along around the zoo and the burger grilling smelled so good. It's nice that parking is free but admission is a little spendy. Good thing you can get a discount with Valpak codes VP. It cool that they have Lego creatures spread all around the zoo!

Yelp
I first went to the Naples Zoo back in the 1980s when it was Jungle Larry's. So this was a nostalgic trip down memory lane, and also a wonderful way to spend a Saturday morning. My family and I arrived right at opening time, as we knew the summer day would get too hot to be walking around by lunchtime. While you can buy tickets online, we opted for the old-fashioned method and bought our tickets in person. The line was non-existent at that time of day, but I loved that there were some animals (mostly reptiles and fish) that you could look at while you were waiting to get into the zoo...brilliant design. There are no paper maps (I guess to cut down on trash), so the staff recommends that you take a picture of the map as you enter the zoo. There are actually lots of these posted maps all around the zoo, so we didn't even end up using the picture, but it was a good tip. We knew the giraffe feeding was a must on our list, and that starts at 10am, so we had an hour to explore the zoo. We wandered past the alligators and the animals receiving extra care (there was a sloth!), over to the zebras and then back to the giraffes. The giraffe feeding was a true highlight and it paid off to get there early as we were the first ones to get to feed some leafy greens right to the giraffes as they came out for breakfast. There's a photographer on hand to take professional pics that you can buy on your way out in the gift shop...highly recommended as they get really good angles! We then found the old toucan sign from when the zoo was Jungle Larry's and had to take a picture with it, before moving to the boat cruise. I love that the zoo has a small 15 - 20 minute boat cruise to visit primates that live on islands. You can still see these animals from the sides of the lake, but the cruise captains have tons of fun facts about the animals and they really take their time to ensure you really get to see them from the boat. Next we went over to the alligator feeding and training, and it was fascinating to see the gators being so well-behaved for their treats. We ended the morning with some treats (hot pretzels and popcorn) and a walk by the bears and the snakes. I can't wait to go back...this zoo was truly awesome!

Rosario S. C.

Yelp
The Naples Zoo in Naples is a great place to bring the kids and the grandkids. The zoo is not that large but offers a large variety of animals and reptiles and more. You can spend a few hours there. Feeding the Giraffes is a fun thing to do. The staff is very nice and very helpful. There are several concession areas to grab a drink or a bit to eat. The zoo is very clean but currently having some renovations being done.
google avatar

Nancy C.

Yelp
Took a little boat out on a tiny pond to see apes that were not there. We went in the morning so it wasn't so hot......Shows are spaced out so far that you have to stay there for hours if you want to see anything. Saw a bear and some giraffes for $80....don't waste your money like we did! Oh snd $8 for a drink to top it all off!!
google avatar

Amy L.

Yelp
Great little zoo, it was a nice surprise as we didn't expect much. The zoo was our backup activity for cold weather and it turned out to be a really nice place. The orangutan habitat and giraffes were the highlights. Unfortunately, we were unable to see the alligators, but they are now building a special observation walkway to view the alligators, so hopefully we'll see them next time we visit Naples.
google avatar

Jillian B.

Yelp
This was my first time visiting the zoo, I would give it a 10! Very clean, beautiful and a lot of great animals to look at. This was one of my favorite zoos. I had so much fun feeding the giraffe
google avatar

Lindsay M.

Yelp
first time here and wow what an amazing zoo. so much to do walk around and see so many animals take a boat ride and see some monkeys and leamers . grab some snacks or go to the few restaurants. lots of open water fountains a playground for the kids many photo opportunities. theres also an option to feed the giraffes . wagons and strollers are welcome . water bottles and lunches are as well . i believe you can go to the zoo one day free each month

Annemarie C.

Yelp
Clean and beautiful grounds... able to see most animals. Love the boat ride to see the primates. Love that they posted when the animals would be fed by the keeper as well as had "volunteers" letting us know where to view the animals. Great time had by all three of us!!
google avatar

Erin E.

Yelp
I really liked the layout of the zoo. The boat ride to monkey island is a must-see even though the line tends to be long. The only thing I didn't like was that a lot of animals weren't present, but that's a typical thing at a zoo. I definitely think if you're in the area that you have to go see it.
google avatar

Darrin B.

Yelp
You just have to love the Naples Zoo, they have great animals and an incredible staff that takes great care of the the animals and the facilities. I especially love the animal encounters that they do and the education they provide. Collier County residents get in free each first Saturday of the month. You just got to go!
google avatar

Angie G.

Yelp
Love this place. I like that it's more of a sanctuary for the animals. It's pretty small comparing it to the zoo in Miami but I love that. It's my go to place to visit when I'm in Naples
google avatar

Kelly W.

Yelp
Terrible! Hardly any exhibits. No elephants any longer even though they say they have them. Total waste of money! Don't waste your time.
google avatar

Ashley S.

Yelp
I grew up coming to the Naples Zoo. When you're a kid it seems a lot bigger. Still fun to revisit as an adult with my friend and her kids. Easy to get to, no issues with parking. Tickets are reasonable compared to some other zoos I've been to. $22.95 at the gate, $21.95 if you buy online. Kids are $14.95 at the gate or $12.95 online. They also have membership packages for locals & discounts for Florida residents. They have a fairly decent amount of animals to see. I always love the giraffes! You can get up close and personal with them. Whether you're in the area visiting, or you live in Florida, it's a great place to take your kids.

Yelp
I am not much of a zoo person. Personally I find them pretty depressing and try to avoid going to them. But when you are on vacation with small children the zoo seems like an obvious thing to do. I went with a group of seven children and eight adults, and we had a really lovely time. It's nice that there is an emphasis on rehabilitation and preservation and it feels like a very well done zoo. Of course we were there the day after a tiger was shot and killed for mauling (?) a zoo employee (?). I don't know the full story so I won't comment on that. What I will say is that the animals we did see seemed to be well cared for and in well-kept spacious areas. There were zoo volunteers as well as staff who are highly knowledgeable about the exhibit they were representing. We got there when the zoo first opened and if you have a large group or small kids or you just want the place kind of to yourself I would recommend an early start. When we left around 11 it was quite crowded. The paths are paved and are very stroller and wheelchair friendly. I am not an expert on ADA compliance but they did not seem to be many steep areas to maneuver. You can take a boat around several islands to see different primate species that they have at the zoo. I would recommend getting on one of the earlier boards as the line does get long. We were on the 9:30 ride and only waited five minutes in line to catch it. I will say that if you are with anyone that is auditorily hypersensitive, the loudspeaker on the boat is VERY loud, and you may want earplugs for a more enjoyable experience. We also fed the giraffes which was really fun. You get three leaves of lettuce for five dollars, and if they don't eat you get your money back, so keep your receipt. This wasn't an issue for us and the giraffes were the highlight. There are lots of neat Lego animal sculptures throughout. All in all a very nice way to spend a morning.

Yelp
My kids enjoy going to this small SWFL zoo every couple of years. Its easy to see the shows and visit all the exhibits in a few hours. Tips: go in the monkey boat ride early because the line does get long and it shuts down often for weather restrictions which in Florida is unpredictable in the summer. Our recent trip and the photos here are from their annual Halloween event: Boo at the Zoo. Kids in costume get in free! So it's a great deal and perfect time to go because the weather is cooler, save money and enjoy themed activities. Plus kids live getting candy!

Yelp
I like this zoo. It's the perfect size and most importantly it had shade. Each attraction is separated by beautiful plants. The plants have signs with their names. Some of this plants smell amazing. The colors, the shapes make the walking path really enjoyable. It was a slow Saturday. I think it was. There was not many people here. There is lots to see and do here. They have a Ferry ride that is cool. It takes around little monkey islands. Make sure you get there earlier then the schedule time. They also have some animal encounters. I enjoyed them. I did the giraffes. The workers are very nice and pleasant. They let you take pictures and they provide photos for you to buy. It is one of the cleanest zoo I have visited. The people here really take care of this place.

Yelp
This is just a throughly delightful zoo! It is small and very easy to maneuver with a stroller which makes it the ideal place to come with your children and toddlers. Very easy access off the main road with plenty of free parking. As a New Yorker that was a pleasant surprise. We paid and entered the zoo and went straight to their reptile show. Too young ladies did a wonderful job introducing the audience to some reptiles. This was entertaining and definitely geared toward a younger audience and you can just see how much the children enjoyed it. From that point on my wife and I just walked around this delightful zoo during a beautiful day. There were so many families there and like I said earlier this is just the perfect place for them. The giraffes unknowingly put on a wonderful show cause you can feed them and all the children would just line up with lettuce in their hand. They were having such a good time. They also have a nice feature where they take you on a little boat ride on the lake around a couple of the smaller islands inhabited by various types of monkeys. Again everyone had such a good time and was such an enjoyable half an hour. Right at the entrance to the zoo or the spot we are going to exit is a small exhibit of parrots. This is always one of my favorite spots as they're just so photogenic and of course I always have a camera with me. (See pictures). All zoo employees are just so proud of the zoo and various keepers throughout the place just loved to talk about the animals in their enclosures. They all have such great stories. Some are not so happy, but that gives you all the more respect for the care and treatment of the animals. Even though the zoo is an hour and a half from where were staying in Fort Lauderdale I'm definitely looking forward to my next trip there. This is a great way to spend some time especially with young children.

Yelp
A smaller zoo, but still has a long of animals. All the staples - Tigers, Lions and Bears. The Giraffe exhibit (and show) along with the Boat ride around Monkey Island(s) are mainstay exhibits. The Aligator feeding was okay....but as a Florida resident - this get boring. Kind of like the first time I found a coconut on the ground - but that's another story. Great place to take the kids. Highly recommend you do it at least once.

Yelp
We love the Naoles Zoo however the price of entry is ridiculous. I don't know how young families do it. I am aware that there is a day once a month that the zoo is free BUT, I've been told that it gets SO crowed that it's not enjoyable.

Yelp
What a way to spend a Saturday morning. A gorgeous little zoo that has meandering paths to stroll through the zoo. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. Don't miss the boat ride either. A nice activity for families and kids if all ages.

Yelp
I was very disappointed with the size of the enclosures of all the animals. I feel zoos today should not have any animals if they can not give them enough space to roam around. The giraffe space was awful, so small not even big enough for one giraffe and you had three.
